    I tried to panel using your method and only got the top part correct. After rolling out the fondant to panel the side, it started falling off the rolling pin when attempting the sides and the fondant started to stretch which made the process worse.

    • @TheCakeBakeBoutique
      @TheCakeBakeBoutique  5 років тому

      Hi Amelia, if the fondant started to stretch, you might have pulled the fondant away from the cake, instead of tightly unrolling it from the cake. Also, the fondant needs to be tightly wrapped on the dowel - as shown in the video, it can't slide away when you do this. Good luck!

    When kept in fridge fondant tends to sweat and soggy

    • @TheCakeBakeBoutique
      @TheCakeBakeBoutique  5 років тому

      I've never experienced soggy fondant and I've been making cakes and keeping them in the fridge for 9 years now. It can sweat a bit when it's hot, but that also depends on which brand of fondant you use.

      I would suggest placing your phone (at least I think it's filmed with a phone 😊) horizontally - so you'll get a wider filming angle and those side "borders" will dissapear 😉. Hope this helps!

    Try Fantasia Fondant, www.FantasiaFondant you won't regret it. It is a very forgiving fondant with a long work time, which makes it easy to work with for beginners and pros. Fantasia Fondant is formulated with elasticity making it a high performing fondant when covering cakes or performing in silicon cake molds. The colors of Fantasia Fondant are vivid and fadeproof. This fondant will not prematurely dry, crack, tear, break and 'elephant skin.' Offers a less sweet taste that resembled a homemade marshmallow fondant. Can be rolled super thin to cover cake dummies where corners will not crack, tear and break.

    most of the cakers advise not to refrigerate cakes covered with fondant and to bring the cake to the room temperature before covering with fondant because the cakes have tendency to sweat when we refrigerate it . As per your video it doesn't matter. Do you have any comment on this?
