    My Dad had a 1968 and a 1969 when I was young the 68 was a 396 big block car and the 1969 was a small block car but I remember them as a kid then he sold them because him and my mom had my sisters and my mom talked him into selling them but I sort of remember them the 68 was black interior and the 69 had blue interior and remember going to the drive in and laying up on the package tray watching out the back window that was back in the early 80's

      You have to remember, back in the day these cars were nothing special. How we view Escapes and Cobalts and such right now. Whose to say that in 40 years we won't be saying the same thing about a 2007 Cobalt? Lmao

      @@jlperformance1539 Well the Mustang II for example Ik most of us still hate that car for turning economy in the mid 70s, but I do love the pony cars we have now and one day they’ll turn valuable also cause they had a shine of light in the performance world. I would rather have this or any old school 60s/early 70s smiles per gallon muscle as an early car than a Toyota/Honda.

    That car deserves better then a LS.
    You can make just as much hp with a small block for half the money.
    You can fix a small block with a screw driver and rock, LS you need an electronic degree to fix it.

    • @jlperformance1539
      @jlperformance1539  2 роки тому

      Sorry, but my father and I disagree. You need thousands upon thousands of dollars of aftermarket parts just to get a small block to the point of a factory LS, and there's still limitations that you aren't getting rid of until you go to an aftermarket block (Large cam bore I'm looking at you). As for the electronics... When you grow up with it it becomes second nature. I can't tune a carburetor to save my life, but you know what makes perfect sense to me? Fuel maps, spark maps, flex fuel compensation tables... etc etc.
      Besides, at the end of the day, this car has been in the family for nearly it's entire life. If my dad and me both want an LS in it, isn't that what matters? Lol

    • @bigbelconut
      @bigbelconut 2 роки тому

      @@jlperformance1539 your nuts, I can make 500hp for a couple thousand dollars. I build engines for a living, unless you spend $$$$ on an LS it makes just as much hp as a small block. Check dyno comparison videos on here.
      Another good one is LS boys don't make me hate LS.

    • @jlperformance1539
      @jlperformance1539  2 роки тому

      @bigbelconut I've seen plenty of dyno comparison videos to know that unless you're putting 2k dollars worth of cylinder heads, a 1000 dollar carb, a 700 dollar roller cam kit, you aren't touching a cam only 6.0 lol. Been proven time and time again, that a cam only 6.0 will dyno at 500hp +/-. Strap a turbo on and the bottom end stays alive north of 800 pretty reliably, unlike a SBC that needs blueprinted just to live at 500.. I suggest that you look up some videos on the LS lol

    • @jlperformance1539
      @jlperformance1539  4 роки тому

      We broke in the cam the proper way. By doing a burnout in the garage.
      Hasnt moved in 30 years, new cam, new heads. Definitely was the best way to get it done!
      The heads are whatever came on a GMPP 350 crate. I forgot the casting numbers, it's been awhile. They're nothing special though.

    Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned
    from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the
    Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
    on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas
    station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel
    pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in
    the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems,
    turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and
    New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be
    done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of
    crime here, called emissions and smoke crime In German called the Bundesabgasbespaßungsverbotsverordnung.:-((()/(
