1969 COPO 427 Chevelle BARN FIND JUST DISCOVERED!!!

- A friend of mine and I tracked down and was able make a purchase on this unbelievable car hidden for decades and totally unknown to the Supercar Registry, Muscle Car, and Chevelle communities, this 1969 COPO 9566 AA 427 Chevelle is 1 of only 2 Tuxedo Black with manual trans ever to surface. It hails from Landers Chevrolet a small Chevrolet dealership in Hurricane, West Virginia that was also responsible for the sale of a Tuxedo Black 1969 427 COPO Camaro as well.
This guy sounds so honest I bet you could play dice with him over the phone.

Dam Patrick, I'm 67 years old, I was a sophomore in high school, in 69. The 69 chevelle's and especially the elcamino's have always been my favorite chevys. Have never seen a COPO one before. That's an excellent car. I just love the sound of a GM A body door opening. They were put together so well. The guy that ordered that car didn't want frills, he wanted to go fast. And I guarantee that car delivered!
An amazing survivor car. One can only imagine how many street racers fell victim to this sleeper Malibu. A truly awesome find. I look forward to your follow up video on this one.

Great find , so happy I kept my 71 GrandPrix , 2nd owner , have had it since 87 , love the old classics , drive my Pontiac every nice day. Keep these cars alive , love these videos.
I live about 10 mins away from where this car sat for so many years. It wasn't hiding. Some locals knew what it was and where it was. The car has also been repainted around '75-'76. I think I know who the new owner is as well but haven't confirmed this yet but if I'm correct the car only moved a couple hundred yards to it's new owner and will be very well taken care of.

Survivors have ALL original equipment, this can not be documented as a survivor all because the master cylinder was changed and smog equipment was removed.

Served in the Marines 1972 , boot camp was in South Carolina Parris Island . My DI ( Drill Instructor) had a beautiful blue 1969 Chevelle that he would drive in and out .
After serving my my duty and coming home I bought a 1970 SS 402/396 paid 1500.00 for a beautiful no rust car but never thought about getting a 1969, love it, they are gone now.

Great story about your '70 SS396. I love my '70 SS454 (LS5) and hope to hang on to it if at all possible.
It's sad to think about all guys who bought these amazing cars before shipping out but, never got to come home and enjoy them.
At least everyone can now see and admire them on channels like this one.
Lucky it found a building to sleep in for so many years!!! And she's a beaut Clark!!! To think someone ordered this car from some dealer, flippen AWESOME!!!

Awesome find, congratulations on a beauty. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video but, when you showed us the interior, my mind flashed back to the last time I sat behind the steering wheel of my 69 Chevelle SS 396. Pangs of regret flooded over me anew for trading it in.

@@vernt4583 Mine was Hugger Orange with a Black interior. My factory steering wheel was Brown, wood grained plastic or whatever material they used.
Harrison Mantooth I had a new 1969 Chevelle SS 396 L78 4 speed! I raced a friend who had a 1968 Chevelle SS 396 350hp automatic! We started size by side at a speed I was still in 1st gear. I never lifted my foot off the gas in all 3 shifts & the 68 sat right beside me to 120 mph. To say the least I was disappointed in my 375hp asI now believe they were under rated for insurance reasons! Plus I had to put up with valve adjustments on the L78!

Wow! Amazing condition on this super rare Chevelle! Just shows you that these super rare cars are still out there somewhere. No telling what people have stashed away in sheds and buildings just waiting to be brought back to life.

This brings back memories. I had one of these back in the day. It was dark metallic blue with white vinyl top. Black interior, bench seat, 4 speed. I wish I knew if that car has survived.

Super find! Hope new owner dosen't do much more than a clean up and straighten out any mechanical issues. It would be a great survivor car. Can't wait for the follow ups
If the new owner has sense, he goes for Concourse and either flips it for 6 figures or keeps it in his private collection stored away as his Someday retirement plan.

This is one heck
of a car. Don't even bother restoring it, except etching off the rust and giving the paint a bit of a touch up. I'd love to hear that 427 do some talking.
@@MidwestFarmToys When the car is worth 6 figures, there are people who can make the original paint and touch up paint look new as if it was never touched.
Deserves a full resto. In Tuxedo Black the car will look amazing.

Love to go out and open her up, 496 big block 500hp 4 speed 3:73 posi, totally stock appearing rite down to the 14x7 ss wheels. Love it. Never understood why someone would park em. Did I mention I love chevelles? Haha. Keep up the great work

Aaron Anderson ...A friend of mine bought a fifteen year old motorcycle (HD) with 60 miles on it! The original owner bought it but was arrested for DUI before he took delivery. (Another person rode it home from the dealer when it came in). The original purchaser got 90 days in jail but died before he got out.
Then the bike just sat in a garage where there was chickens. I saw it when my friend brought it home. It was covered in chicken shit, straw and the chickens ate away most of the seat.
Two days later it was shiny and looked brand new. I helped my friend change the original oil, it flowed out just like silicon caulking.

It's called a LIGHT! Get you good light source to light up those wonderful machines. Many thanks for all the great cars you have brought to our attention. Looking forward to see the next one.

That cars condition is amazing, I bet that paint would almost look new when clean, the dust protects that paint, I'd blow it off with a leaf blower than wash with a soft clothes.
A minor crack in dash, interior near perfect.
A good detail, and mechanics and drive.
Gas tank read full... Needs tank cleaned. Triple black must be really rare.
Only 323 of them were made total. One year only car and most dealers werent even aware of the COPO program

When i grew up my mother had a 69 SS with the 396 and 411 rear, she sold it in the early 80's for $800 bucks when everyone was trying to get rid of the gas guzzlers.. I think back on that now and it's like someone punched me in the gut.
How about 70-71 Cuda’s and Hemi Cuda’s? They said there were tons sitting on used car lots all over for years due to the gas crisis and insurance costs. Now they be worth millions

When I watch these videos I think of the cars my friends and I would see on our used car lot cruises in 1978 1979. One that I can vividly remember was a 1970 chevelle ss silver black stripes, $1700 painted on the front window. Some one had taken the big block and put in a 307! I remember thinking how could someone do that! Also a 1969 road runner air grabber hood 4sp car, $850
