I have never owned a 1968 to 1972 Chevelle before but I will say this. If I could turn back the hands of time I would turn it back to 1970 just to be able to sit behind the wheel of a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Convertable. It would be my dream come true. Traveling up the California Coast in my Chevelle listening to the Beatles. Life was good then. We were all so young and the cars were good looking and so were the boys and girls and the music was perfect.
Also my parents were alive and healthy and my best friends were alive and young and healthy and the only thing on our minds was how good we looked and our romance partners at that time. Aging and problems didnt exist. You could block it out of your mind and not think about the harsh realities we were going to have to face later. I'm somewhat happy now but the world has changed so much. Its different now. You have to take out a second mortgage to buy a car and if you want to own a decent house in a decent neighborhood you literally have to be a millionaire.
My dad bought a 72 SS off the show room floor. Sold it in 74. I kept track of it and bought it this week. Now has a BUILT 454 400 shift kit trans with a 390 rear end. besides that it is all original. Controlled environment kept and very clean. Very fun car and a head turner!
