We drove it to Canada for our only full family vacation, pulling a travel trailer (Shasta - don't know how all 9 of us fit into that, maybe we also brought a tent). Każdy osobno rozmontujesz, przejrzysz, wyczyścisz i naprawisz. Dokonasz Sprawdzenia ramy i karoserii pod kątem rdzy, pęknięć. Pomalujesz i zakonserwujesz. I haven't looked at it all the way through yet, but I thought that when restoring such an old car, you would remove all the components. You would disassemble each one separately, inspect, clean and repair. You would check the frame and body for rust and cracks. You would paint and preserve. You would fit what you had previously removed into the shell prepared in this way, so that the car would look like the day it left the factory.
no. that would make it the same as all the other million sub youtubers. him just making these out of his own want and time and need is alot better than forced stuffy stuff. EX : Vice Grip Garage.
No tv show, just sponsor money. Creative liberty goes in the trash with TV, and this guy is making better stuff than you'd see on TV anyways. Good film maker already
The pushrod bent most probably because the valve stem got seized at some time. It happens when an engine stays years without being started. And good job, Simon!
Yours are some of my most favorite videos.....no need to talk or make jokes while trying to get stuff fixed......no "stylin an' profilin" in front of the camera before you even do anything....the camera is pointed at where you are going in the car/truck instead of your face mugging the camera like alot....alot of others do. Your video techniques are imaginative and do not need narrative or music and show the essence of the work. The best.
Damn, this video was a wild ride. Having this few complications on a revival, all solved with somewhat easy fixes. The brakes taking fluid and giving preassure first try, the innards of the gastank being in ok condition and not clogging the carburator, the backfire that turned into flames, and last but not least my favourite: the compression-tester needing a couple of taps to work correctly, saving you alot of hassle. You hade me guessing at every turn thinking this car was gonna need ALOT more work. Great video, Fordman!
Thank you for your videos. I'm in the middle of two K5 Blazer restores. I find myself getting discouraged often. Hard to see the ligjht at the end of the tunnel when i go from fixing one thing to finding something else that needs fixing. Your videos remind me that it isnt always about the destination. The journey there is just as rewarding.
This car was made during a time when cars could be repaired. Nowadays, this is almost impossible; only replacement seems an option. Thanks for the video.
I love the dedication and time you put into your work. You know how to think outside the box when challenges come your way with your projects! I commend you!

Never had a hard to start FE... I've also never had a FE that didn't have bad guide seals and leaking exhaust manifolds... I can't believe you got those bolts out... Don't forget that engine needs premium.. Those head light rings are unobtainium.. Billy Zona taught me the drill trick... But he used a long bit. I had one of the mount bolts come out and when I took off the engine lifted and flipped the throttle linkage wide open... Them 352's scoot!
I appreciate the thumbnails for your vids. My first thought is always “no way he’s gonna get this piece of shit to start” and yet you always prove me wrong
Good to see the 'ole girl back on the road. I had a black with the same red interior as yours in 1971. She had a 406CID engine with a 650cfm Holley, ran beautiful but only got about 7 miles to the gallon, good thing I worked at a Shamrock station. Finally lost her when she got broadsided in an intersection when another car lost brakes at 45 mph. Minimal injuries to passengers but insurance totaled her and that was it. Hope you have better run with yours.
Alot of folks in my family in the southwest side of Detroit bought new '62 Fords. My dad had a wagon, an aunt had a 4-door Galaxie, an uncle had a yellow 2-door hardtop, a cousin had an all black 2-door hardtop & another cousin had an XL maroon convertible for less than 10 minutes who took delivery at the dealer, wheeled up to the first traffic light & sneezed. By sneezing he blinked his eyes, instead of putting his foot on the brakes, he put his foot on the gas & went through the intersection & plowed into a cement truck totally the XL. Poor kid was the brunt of a lot of jokes.
@@SimonFordman He drove an old hand me down sedan for awhile then bought a new '66 7-litre. All maroon of course. Great guy who now laughs about "the incident".
@@SimonFordman Check one or two of your valve springs for length against a good known FE spring. A wrong [short] height can cause bent pushrods- my '64 390 bent 2 and broke 2 valvesprings until I sussed it out- machine shop installed incorrect springs. Swapped all 16 out and zero problems since. FEs are great. Best from west Texas from a former Minneapolitan.

While Watching him I remember that I have to change the valve cover gasket on my WJ 4.0 L Jeep .
I did it 5 weeks ago.
Videos are inspirational for me .
Cheers from Toluca Mex.
This is the most beautifully shot car restoration video I have ever seen. Those compositions are on point. Amazing job
This guy deserves a sponsor and a TV show.
no. that would make it the same as all the other million sub youtubers. him just making these out of his own want and time and need is alot better than forced stuffy stuff. EX : Vice Grip Garage.
@@xb4rfx Agreed.
I think he is better alone in UA-cam.
Tv shows is sucks nowadays 😂
With a TV show, the network guys will kill his freedom and creativity.
Absolutely top-notch cinema, fantastic camera work, greetings from Berlin, Germany
I'm also surprised the gas tank was ok since it probably hasn't been driven on the road in 6 or 7yrs from the license plate sticker.
@@dextermorgan4337 It has a newish-looking gas tank so I decided to just hope it was decent on the inside still
Thank you for your videos.
This one seemed frustrating for sure but I think I speak for all of us when I say we appreciate your persistence and patience. Keep doing what you do!
The no talking is refreshing. Love the format, the car and that E28.
What a beauty... Again, you guys are fortunate to have classics, in abundance...
Blessings from New Zealand 🇳🇿..
I'm a Chevy guy, but I love to watch your Ford adventures. And I learn little bit about Fords. This '62 Galaxy has beautiful style.
Good Job, keep saving these old Fords, they are diamonds in the rough. Watching your videos becomes a highlight of my UA-cam daily viewing, cheers.
This car was made during a time when cars could be repaired. Nowadays, this is almost impossible; only replacement seems an option. Thanks for the video.
Over an hour of pure Fordness? Simon, you are spoiling us here...
Every video you make is such quality. Truly believe you could be a great movie director one day
I love the dedication and time you put into your work. You know how to think outside the box when challenges come your way with your projects! I commend you!
Man that is one cool car, and just looking at it didn't look like there was hardly any rust on it at all just mostly service for us, and I really enjoyed how you got that car going your expertise your knowledge of troubleshooting certain areas I've learned a lot from you and I appreciate your videos
I have to tell you my friend you are impressive. I just found your channel and I`m loving it , you have such a fresh approach to the way you vlog without saying anything and your car skills are over the top. You`ve already taught me a few things. Keep up the great work.
That was an absolutely wonderful presentation. You should be a movie producer very well done and good job on the old Ford. Thank you.
Echt cool was du so alles drauf hast. Respekt.
I'm very excited for the next video. I'm having fun watching it There is neither much nor little talk here, but here you see endless challenges and hard work that only the mighty can do
Like the way you tackled the exhaust stud, your videos are pure therapy...........just sit back and enjoy.
His cinematography skills are as excellent as his technical skills in restoration
You and NNKH are my absolute favorite vehicle UA-camrs out there !
Same!
Definitely
A young man who's a fan of old Fords and quite a mechanic! Great video 🙂
This kid stays busy that's for sure with a new project every week
And he does it quietly too
Nice or not, it runs. Got a 1964 high nickel FE block 390 bored .060 over in my old truck. Had it for 40 yrs. Wouldn't have it any other way.
I like cars and like you're editing style. That's what i noticed right off the bat. Very entertaining! Thank you.
Greetings from Germany - today its rainy and cloudy and your Video made my day turn good - Thank you so much
Simon your one of the best mechanics best of luck pal.
these aren't just vyoutube videos, they're better than hollywood
Gee whiz, I'm glad I wasn't him. I've had my fair share of embarrassing moments though.
Simon we love you!
I stumbled onto your video, and it was hypnotic! I got so engrossed in watching it, and it has inspired me to revive a Dodge van that I parked some 20 odd years ago! I REALLY enjoyed watching you work w/ no drama; just the work! 🙂
Great video! Thanks for posting! People can be so negative but it’s videos like this that teach us a lot about working on old cars!!
My first car was a 1964 Galaxie 500 4 door. 289 with 3 on the tree.
I was 16 and I loved that car.
This brings back so many memories it makes my day.
This car has seen better days and has been maintained. Of all the 60+ year olds, this one is in unprecedented good condition!
😀
I love your videos. The skateboard made me smile. I'm curious why you don't take a leaf blower along and stop by a car wash on your way home with your "treasures". 🙂😺
What an absolutely beautiful video. I've watched hundreds of "will it run" videos in the past couple years. This is by far and away my favorite. Why speak when the video tells the story? The perspective makes it feel like you're wrenching with one of your buddies and riding along. I'll be binge watching your catalog after I'm done with this one. Bravo!
Someone who can actually fix something other than replace components 😊
ABSOLUTELY !!!!!
This guy is built different
I was wondering when the brakes were going to fail. It took a while, but the master was bone dry for a reason. Excellent video.
Why have I not come across this channel earlier? I'm so tired of channels where people make complete idiots of themselves in a "will it run" for views, like the one with the gripping tool. This is an amazing amount of camera and editing work. How?
