Why dont you make them yourself?
but the ipod and samsung are in ear even though they are open at the same time so is not going to sound the same as like the bose and shoks which are truelly open earphones. and when you speak about audio quality you need to show the frequency range graph which tells you everything about the type of treble and bass they reproduce because audio is also subjective to each person.
Sony one is trash
Galaxy live buds are better than the grades you was grading them even during tests you did. Exp the outside voice test the beans was at least 2nd or 3rd. IMO. I have the beans with a iPhone 14 and got rid of my AirPod 2 for the beans.
I just got the JBL live flex in the U.S and they have officially dethroned my all time daily drivers, Galaxy buds live. The bass is monster and nothing else in its class can compete. It will blow everything on this list out the water.

Not really accurate.. sorry
I can't use in-ear buds at all. No size I've found fit me, and they pop out constantly. I'm glad we are getting this type of buds
Me too, I get ear infections because of in ear earbuds, so I always use headphones.
Same, the only one that do'nt pop out are obviously the over the ears. I'm very interested with the Bose ones from this video but 350$ where I live... no thanks, back to my wired KZ10 Pro X at 40$
Same for me, they just pop right out after a few seconds. Very frustrating.
I bought Samsung Buds Live 3 years back, never regretted it. Silicon tip earbuds give me the ick when wearing for longer duration. Sad that Samsung has likely scrapped plans to launch next version of Buds Live.
The best earbuds. Me too! I love Samsung Buds Live with wireless charging and touch buttons.
I absolutely LOVE the new Bose Ultra Open Ear Buds! They sound crazy good! I never wear ear buds until the battery dies without ear fatigue! It's awesome!
Yeah they look a cool design. I am kinda stuck with apple though because I have their phone/ipad pro etc so made choice couple of hours ago to purchase gen 3 Airpods . My son loves his gen 3 AirPods so hopefully I have similar if smaller ear and I will feel the same about them. I am only going to use them for light use during lunch hour etc although saying that if I love them maybe I will upgrade to Bose or AirPods Pro 2. But Bose nailed it with a brilliant unique design that seems to pass a lot of the tests and probably feels super comfortable for majority of people. 😊
Great breakdown! I've enjoying the AeroFit Pros. Cool to see how the formfactor stacks up to the others.
When I need open earbuds, I am a fan of the Galaxy Buds Live. Not perfect by any means, but they are very comfortable for me. I hope Samsung does update them in the future as I believe they have room for some improvements.
The buds are literally 4 years old now. I’m surprised Samsung still sells them.
They are excellent for me, fit well, sq fantastic due to the fit. Hope they will make a new model
Very thorough review. Thank you!
I'm interested to hear your thoughts on the mifo gen 2 touch. I've found they're low profile, love that the case charges the ear buds and doubles as a phone charger if needed. Sound quality seems good for both the user and for the people on the other end of a phone call. The longevity may be the only weak point for me, as over time the Bluetooth acts finicky and sound quality on phone calls degrade. But again, would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!
You're one of the only youtubers that I've seen that wears the Bose earbuds correctly or at least as they instruct you to wear them in the manual. The call quality sounded a lot better than I've heard on other videos. I have the Bose, Shokz , Sony Link buds and the Galaxy Buds live and all of the mics sounded nice in quiet and busy conditions in your video. I think out of all of those the Galaxy Buds live sound the best, but I know everyones ears are different, because they do have a good amount of bass. I enjoyed your review.
I was Buds live Gang for a very long time but I just got the JBL live flex last week and I got to say those are bass monsters nothing else can compete period
as someone who finds silicone tips earbuds uncomfortable, love this video ❤
You've got me very interested in the Bose buds. I've used the Galaxy buds for a couple years now. I can start a run with them in a comfortable position, but inevitably they end up settling into a position where they press on one part of my ear or another and get quite painful. Glad there are so many more options now.
They look like you're wearing big hipster earrings
As someone who looks for open earbuds I thank you for this review. I tried the Sony linkbuds but the ear pain I got from it made me return them. The main reason I need open ear is the ear fatigue and I have sensitive skin and ear sweat causes me to have eczema there sometimes. I was looking into the Bose because the way they sit on the ear, but the mic just sounded so echoey on the video and now I really have to decide if I want to go with them.
Used to switch buds everytime. Until I came across the buds live 4 years ago. They are perfect for comfort. Right now, it's the Bose NC 700 headphones for music and buds live for everything else for me.
Thanks for the great review! As a cyclist, I am very interested in their performance on wind noise. Can you give a review on that? Thanks a lot!
Still have my Buds Live and love them. Wish they would refresh them.
i feel the same, love my buds live
Yes timestamps are always good
Are the sennheiser true wireless momentum 4 better then all of these earbuds ?
Though I like the overall approach and thoroughness, I disagree with the practical grouping of the products.
The only products here that are open ear are actually shokz and Bose. All the rest, need to sit in the ear and this is a really different experience. The true open ear are the ones that don't block the ear. It gives them tremendous comfort because they just sit outside your ear and unfortunately they don't block any noise which is the entire point. Bose is an innovation in the category, as it sits in the ear but didn't really block the ear.
The marketing of "open air" being no silicone is bs, and tech channels should know about this. With their mindset, we had open ear headphones for ages with those small wired ones which were also uncomfortable.
Take it from a person with multiple ear infections, if it touches the ear canal entrance, it's annoying and uncomfortable. Not to everyone but this sensitivity helps make the distinction.
I disagree with your sentiment. Typically when you put one of these "tipless" earbuds into your ear, they *should* just rest barely outside of your canal, and only blocking around 5% of external sound. This at least was my experience with Apple's Wired Earpods, which sure, you can shove all the way into your ear, but I let them rest just outside my canal and they don't fall and block out 0 external sound.
I've had Samsung buds live since the release of Samsung Galaxy Note 20 ultra got it free with pre-order of the phone, and they are still really good
Great to see the Buds Live have the best mic quality in all environments. The Bose are surprisingly terrible.
Edit: Ear fitment is everything. Having both the Airpods 3 and Buds Live, the comfort and sound quality on the Buds Live are much better than the Airpods.
great reviews, thanks, made my decision to get the best one much easier
Ive got the bose opens and love them theyre my go to ear buds now especially at work
One key reason I have for wearing open earbuds is for playing piano with the learning app. Earbuds in my ear connected to the tablet, over-ear headphones connected to the piano, and the piano midi connected to the tablet USB-C.
i think more people need to showcase their experience using the mic not just listening to the sound quality but checking the voice call quality too. i bought the Phillips open ear neck band bone conduction headphones while i almost never need to clean them. no ear wax, they fall short in phone call mic quality. but with great sound from Phillips professionals.
Shokz open comm has a boom mic and are a great option
for 300$ bose mic sounds like 30$ buds
Great video, for me I would only consider the BOSE or another brand, because they sit outside your ear. Thanks!
I have both the Bose open earbuds and Sony Linkbuds, and here are some of my thoughts:
👉Design: definitely Bose. Both are very comfortable but Bose earbuds looks cooler.
👉 Audio performance: I think this relying on personal taste but in my humble opinion, I think Sony has done it better than Bose. At first, you will be wowed by Bose “signature” bass but you will soon get tired of it, at least it’s true for me. In Sony case, everything is well calibrated, it feels “just right”, very detailed, with wider sound stage than Bose.
👉 Companion app: another point for Sony. It’s Headphones app has more options than Bose Music, making Sony Linkbuds become very flexible for many music genres.
👉Mic quality: I feel myself have more natural sound with the Sony
👉Battery life: Bose is the winner with no doubt.
i have shoving stuff in my ears, so im really glad stuff like this exists, the amount of sound bleed is an issue for me though. cant really wear them in the office if the person one desk over is gonna hear something. So the bleed test was great!
Thanks for the video dude!
Been using the airpods 3rd gen for quite some time, but been getting itchy/irriation from it being in ear. Have switched to the open ear Shokz, and so far no complaints at all. Happy to see a comparison of the call qualities! Really helpful to see if this was something lost after switching.
i thought the airpods 3rd gen were open earbuds. so they cause the same irritation as IEMs? that's good to know cause then the bose will be my next choice.
@@tor13128 hmm I guess technically the AirPods are considered open ear as they don’t go as deep in, but for me personally caused irritation as it still partially goes in.
@@tjcabansag oh i see. have you used traditional open earbuds, and are airpods the same insertion as those?
I bought the shokz today and I'm not really feeling them. The tapping to skip and stop music doesn't seem to work right that's the only thing I don't like
@@tor13128 hmm depends on which traditional open earbuds brand you are referring to
Are you planning on reviewing the Soundcore C30i?
From all the earbuds you have tested so far. Wich do you advice to young adults. I my case. Not expencive decent 8h battery and usable for a whole workday?
I got Shokz Openfit Earbuds...they were unknown to me, but in Saturn in Germany it is possible to test them before purchasing. After 10 months, these are super! Great sound with very nice bass, long battery lasting, amazing noise cancelling, get charged super fast, ergonomic. Perfect! Totally recommendable.
Can you use it on public transport or does the sound leak too much?
@@olinda013 it is perfect for anytime you need context awareness (e.g., biking). In public transport works great (bus, tram, underground). You can also direct/point them towards your ear whole and they stay (when walking. I do not run with these).
I own the Shokz & I’m looking to replace them bc of the over the ear loop design. Glasses & face masks interfere with them & they fall out easily. I like the design, the quality, & the durability. One of them fell into the washer & went thru the cycle unscathed-detergent & all!! I think they are very light. I’m half expecting to lose one any day now bc the come off when you take your shirt off, bend over, etc. The first day I wore them one came off & I was frantically searching on hands & knees at a restaurant amongst the patrons like Danny Devito in Romancing the Stone, “ I lost my langostino.” It turn out to be in the collar of my shirt!! I’m leaning toward Bose bc they seem to be more secure than the others. Maybe you can add a jogging test to rank how easily they dislodge. Why don’t they make these in a flesh tone so blend in better at work where sometimes management thinks we are being unproductive bc we are having a conversation. I tell them that mine don’t have a microphone but that’s dismissed bc they want it to be a blanket ban. Mono is a plus for me bc I mainly listen to podcasts not music,
I have the samsung beans and the samsung buds pro 2. I end up wearing the beans more often because they are more comfortable. The pros are not uncomfortable...but the beans are just more comfortable. I'm glad that companies are making lots of open earbuds for us to choose from
Hi, the beans sound good in 2024 compared with the pro2?
I agree I love my beans!
@@eliasghost2350yes the difference is very slim
I've used a few shokz bone conducting ones over the years and llove them! Only draw back is that i kill them after 8 months. Maybe water issues.... not sure. Anyways one great benefit over these reviewed is that i work in construction and if it's REAL noisy i can put in ear plugs and turn the volume nice and low. I love that option
Mike - Mike --get to point -- , which one would the best - and tobe controlled by a watch ex. - ???
I've got the Apple AirPod Pro 2s & Sennheiser 3s. My Apple has already broke so I'll never do that again. Now I'm checking into these Shoks Earbuds b/c a buddy of mine @ work has some that sound incredible(he has the kind that wrap around the entire back of his head). Let me know, should I go that route or either another route since I love my 3s. I'm needing a backup pair for work. Thanks & awesome review!
Nothing also makes a great open earbuds. The Nothing Ear Stick is my headphone of choice when not exercising. Extremely comfortable, has good sound, and was only $65 on Amazon.
The linkbuds, in practice, by my experience, have only about 2.5-3hrs of battery life, standby, after about 20mins of teams calls, in my use at work. They have been having issues charging correctly in their case as well. I recently went through a hard reset cycle on them to see if it helps at all. Even when new, they weren't anywhere near the battery life mentioned here.
I love the Sony LinkBuds, but they break very fast. I think there are cables breaking in the middle. I bought them 3 times. Every time same problem after 8 month. (But I am using them nearly the whole Day. Maybe they last longer with less heavy use.)
I now got the HUAWEI FreeClip. And so far (first week) they are great. Even if a HUAWEI App on my phone dosen‘t feel save. Perhaps you can compare these with the others.
Great video!
Thanks for making this comparison video. Just curious if the Beats Fit Pro could be compared to these.
No they cant since the 70% is marketing and 30% actual tech.
Good review. However, why don't any of the result totals actually equal the sum of the categories?
How come liberty 4NC isn't within your list of comparison... it is very close to the quality of the ones you highlighted..do you agree ?
This is the comparison that I have been waiting to find for a long time.
Where Huawei clip which is top?
kind of surprised you didn't try the Oladance, open earbuds is all they do and they produce incredible sounding headphones.
That's crazy. I have the Apple Airpods 3rd Gen & the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live. The Buds Live are my favorite by far! The fit, the sound, the look, everything is on point. Can't believe you said they're "thin sounding" & "lack bass".
I need Samsung to release the Buds Live 2!
U need to adjust the buds live and angle into the ear to hear the bass. It has a lot of bass
Amazing video and nice review as always......
Thank you!
W pfp
I was Buds live Gang for a very long time but I just got the JBL live flex last week and I got to say those are bass monsters nothing else can compete period
I have the link buds and the case stopped working after about a year. Technically, it still works but only on the right side. The left side continually drains it so that no matter how much battery you have when you leave the house it's zero by the time you use it.
The linkbuds take EQ really well and it's part of the sony app.
My favs are the Mixx Streambuds Solo 2 and the Creative Zen Dots. Both are similiar to the Airpods 3 but smaller. Much cheaper too.
For me its the samsung buds live.
Its still holding up compared to when it came out!
DAMN!
I can only do open earbuds coz im deaf in my right side of the ear. I work at the airport and as a manager of 5 stores, i need to hear my surroundings or what's going on around me coz i always get phone calls.
Would love to see the Huawei Freeclips here, same design ethos as the Bose but seemingly better in all depts at 2/3 the price...maybe not available in the US?
I have them, and I absolutely love them. I also have Shokz Open run and the Sony Link buds to compare them to, and I like the sound, comfort and battery life.
Agree. It is surprising that it isn't being compared here as it has the same design approach with Bose and it is already available before the Bose was released. The one's that are being chosen here are all even not from 2024.
Huawei selling on Amazon, I got the Bose instead.
Thanks!@@MEBUGBUG
It would be interesting to see them compared to Huawei Freebuds 5.
Those are my go to open ear buds with a reasonable budget
I was kind of expecting you to also compare either Soundcore's Aerofit/Pro, Tozo's Open Earbuds, or both. Regarding the Buds Live, having used them for over a year they do a surprising good job (soundwise) for open earbuds. The fit is the tricky part but it is intuitive, especially if you listen for the chime that lets you know the sensor detects them on your ear. For me the one major downside is that I can feel the pressure on my ear cartilage and I don't wear them longer then a couple of hours at a time.
I'm a galaxy gen 2 buds, but I been lookin into them bose, think you got me! Haha
Can you please make top 10 of wire headphones 🙏🙏
How would you compare Bose Ultra with Huawei Freebuds 5?
i just subscribed ur channel seeing this detailed vid
I work outdoors and use transparency. Im considering open ones. Dont need bass for podcasts.
do airpods sound better on iphone? i plan to use android and windows. from my experience, windows BT sounds better than android. if i'm not using iphone, will airpods sound worse?
I've tried a lot of ear buds but none were as comfortable as the Samsung live. Sure some might perform better or look better or whatever but they all would give me really bad ear fatigue. The live's never did.
The only problem I have with the linkbuds is that, after about a year of owning them, the buds discharge their battery super fast even when they're off. I can charge them (and the case) to full, go out for like 2 hours, put them in their case when I get home, and the buds will be nearly dead by the next day and need to be recharged.
Main reason for using open buds for me is sharing an office and working in a hospital. I want background music/podcasts, but I absolutely have to be aware of my surroundings and transparency mode on any earbuds is not good enough if someone starts talking to me.
Can you confirm if the Bose have mono mode? You said in your last video on them that they don’t have it, but I’ve seen other UA-camrs say they do have it, so it’s very confusing.
They do have mono mode.
@@stephbyn2654 is mono mode whereby you only need to where one earbud?
You should compare also Huawei freeclips
I had the bose quiet comfort II earbuds for use with iphone 14. I have had nothing but problems with them connecting. Sometimes I would have to fiddle for half an hour putting them back in the case out of the case, connect, disconnect then they would suddenly just connect. Yesterday I finally had it when they kept restarting in my ear, and loosing connection even though the phone said they were connected. So I calmly took them outside, grabbed my sledge hammer, and did what I have wanted to do since I first bought them. Now I get to research for a new pair, again. Technology is such a pain in the ass.
I had the same problem trying to connect airpods 3 to my apple watch ultra. Probably need that sledgehammer to solve the connectivity problem 😂
I feel you 😂😂😂
Suggest me ENC Earbud with good battery
I still like my bt earbuds that are wired between the buds. It's just nice to not lose one side and hang then around my neck.
Are airpods open earbuds? Or just earbuds without active noise cancelling or comfort features that would provide passive noise cancelling.
They're definitely not open, just standard with no ANC etc. Open earbuds don't go in your ear channel and will let you hear everything from outside. You can't hear that with any airpods
Finally! I was asking for this. I had a JVC and it worked fine but after a few months it gave up. Now I need a new one bc sadly I'm in the EU and returning a DEFECTIVE item here is way more difficult, time and money consuming than buying a new one..
Aww you missed the two Soundcore open earbuds (Aerofit pro and Aerofit)
You should test the Huawei Freeclips!
I would agree that on the list only the Shokz and Bose are "true" open ear buds. The market is growing though and more styles of ear buds emerging which is great to see! I own the Sony as those were my first "open" ear buds and they are not perfect, but they do have a lot going for them. The call quality, Sony's app, and the size of the case are the top 3 in my opinion.
Test out the oladance they're the best open ear headphones IMO
No soundcore aero fit pros?😮
why didn't you consider of Huawei Freeclip. It's one of the newest open earbuds
Thanks for the video! As a lover of open earbuds, I'm shocked that Samsung has not made Buds luve 2 for 3 years....
I would love to see them make another attempt at open earbuds. I think the Live's were just a bit of a miss and were not marketed correctly
i have now BLuetooth COnnection Problems with my Buds Live. I will buy the Sony. I see them the first time. Thanks for this Video, helped me alot. Buy the way the Micro from the Sony is the best!
Samsung got ANC and transparency mode too, btw
Do you also review Amazons TAGRY XO8 and others that are selling Vital Theirs tons others beside the most expensive would you agree and be willing to review them? Thanks Sheila
Very interesting comparision. You should include Huawei Freeclip, which are very good also.
They were next on my list! Unfortunately, huawei products are hard to come by here in the US
So why didn't you include the oladance, pretty much been around the longest.
Could you review some raycon products?
I got a question. The Samsung earbuds is not compatible with any apple device, right?
omg i have been wearing the Samsung buds live wrong for years... i have been shoving the speaker side into the ear hole. good sound but uncomfortable
I cannot wear in ear earbuds , I must have weird ears , they never stay in .
The galaxy ones instantly out , the Sony ones also , iPods also which is a shame as I have an iPhone, that leaves the Bose C or the shockz , I’d probably go with the loudest out of the two because the hearing is Not as good as it used to be .
If I remember correctly the Bose where the loud ones ?
Good video mate thank you.
My ear canals violently tenect in eat silicon buds. no matter how clean i keep with, i wear them for a half hour and the next day my canals are irritated and itchy. I love the sound of in ear earbuds, but open ear may be the way to go.
No FreeClip ?
You need to get different ear tips on the Samsung live my wife and I went thru a dozen earbuds until she bought these. Every single thing you criticized works great for us. I have to hit her for attention. We can scream at each other and never falls out.
My ear is so small that none of the earbuds fit me. The airpods fit great but still fall off my ears. I found the jabra elite series to be the next contender. But the jabra still falls out after a while. The bose open ear is so pricey but that might be the best solution for tiny ear openings
Shokz are great for telephone. I gave a pair to my son and he sounds great over the phone. Apple and Sony are excellent too. Shokz may not be the best music headphones but for secure fitting etc at $179 they are a great value. Bose are unique but sooo expensive. If the Apples are a good fit they are another good value.
As a person, who has ear infections, I cannot use silicone tips. Bose is a god send for me. Apple, Shokz and others don't fit e at all. Nice video.
I have the Bose open ear and I'm obsessed! I wear them all day for work. My boyfriend snores bad and keeps me awake, so I wear them all night. The battery plays until morning on a full charge. They are so comfortable I can't even feel them while I sleep. The sound is great, I loved the noise canceling on my other pair but constantly had ear infections and always in pain. Being able to push a button to play or answer calls is better because you can touch the buds and dont have to worry about accidently touching it and hanging up. The bose are definitely worth the money.
How's the mic?
You never mentioned the price of the Shokz.
For whatever reason, in-ear buds are extremely painful for me. Like I can tolerate it in my right ear for a while, but the left ear is flat out unbearable almost instantly. Some of these look like they would still hurt since they rely on pressing into the opening of your ear to stay in, so I definitely prefer the type that hook over the ear.
