The Airpods Pro are a great product for the most part, but Apple dropped the ball on the silicone tips. The way they're designed, there should be at least 5 sizes. They're not "compliant" enough and will not give a good fit for many people. Third party foam tips are a huge improvement.

there's actually 3 versions of the airpods pro 2. the originals with lightning, the lightning version but with magsafe case, and the magsafe case version but with usb c. For some reason they really spaced out all these changes, but they kept calling them just "airpods pro" and not some new edition of them
I have the AirPods 3 and AirPods 2, I thought it would be a straight upgrade but while they sound great, they are larger in the ear and don’t fit as comfortably. I think for most people looking for a bud without tips, you want the 2nd gen. Hopefully AirPods 4 are more like the 2 than the 3
I have to say that the 3rd gen AirPods are EXTREMELY durable. I accidentally dropped it from the top of my stairs, and it just bounced and unfortunately landed in the dog’s water bowl, fully submerged. And i kid you not, not only did it survive, it still had good audio, all sensors still worked and everything was functional. The only thing was that the audio became a bit quieter, which is why I bought a new pair. So in my opinion, 3rd gens definitely are my go to AirPods.
I can only use the one with silicone tip. The others don’t fit, same with the earphones that used to come with the iPhone. Could never use. My daughter has the AirPods 3 and they don’t stay in my ear. One of the nice thing about the Pro 2 is if you have different size ear opening you can use different size for each ear. I also wanted good noise cancelling for flights! And the Max is too big for travel. I have the Beats headset. They stay home.
Man I’m watching this two hours after I bought the AirPods 3rd gen and of course I watched a few other videos about AirPods, I was wrestling between those or the Pros the price gap was of €60 so I took the 3rd gens and I feel very confident that I made the right decision first off cuz I love them they fit my ear very well, sound quality is great, the controls I like them, I wish they had volume but that’s ok, thanks for this good comparison. 👏🏽
I was surprised when you mention you see a lot of people wearing the max. Here in the Philippines and in Japan, most airpods that i see are the pros and the 2 (older people mostly use the 2 and the younger ones use the pros). Only saw the max once in Shibuya in the same color on the video.
AirPods Pros do come with 3 different sizes for the silicone tips. Anyone know of you’re able to test them at an Apple Store like other products? Looking to get the pros this fall but afraid if they come out with new AirPods Pro later
you can do it with an android phone it’s a bit harder, but you can still do it Edit: when I said harder, I mean you have to connect like a normal Bluetooth device
AirPods Pro 2 user on Android here. In short, yes you can, but there's a lot of issues: -No battery indicator - you need the OpenPods app for this -No way to adjust control, enable adaptive transparency or optimized charging etc at all. You really need an iOS device - say, an iPhone or iPad to even adjust these. -Of course, Spatial Audio is a no go :D -You still need an iOS device to update its firmware, too. The only reason why I still use the AirPods on Android, is that I have a spare iPad that I can use to update firmware or change settings. Otherwise really I can't suggest anyone to try this, simply because of how you need an iOS device to do pretty much everything.
I actually like my pros with android. It’s not as good but they’re still great at what I want. Easy controls, great anc, great sound and the beat transparency mode.
my first-gen airpods are kinda dying, the right side doesn't seem to charge or it only works for 5 minutes after a full charge, which is why I'm looking for a new pair. I'm really torn between the 3rd gen or the pros, on the one hand I really want the noise canceling and swipe control features, but I am really not a big fan of having the silicone buds in my ears, which is why apple earbuds has always been my favorite ever since the earpods. Maybe I will buy the pros on amazon and if I don't like the fit I will return them and get the 3 instead.
I had the Pods 1 - was good but falls easily Pods 2 - was better than 1 but didn't have ANC Pro1 - was nice but the right bud started to have issues after 6months(some rattling noise inside, was a common issue that time,2019) Pro 2 - very good, just not a fan of silicon tips(irritates my ears) Max - heavy, very very good music quality and ANC/Transparency. (better anc for gym)
Maybe this is just me, but maybe it’s not really good to have the feeling of not wearing anything at all when you are wearing headphones, for me is my opinion I’d feel earbuds so I think I’m leaning towards the AirPods PRO actually
For me, I look more for comfort rather than quality of sound and material, not like i just don’t care about that, but I just mostly look for comfort. I would choose the headphones, but with that price, nah I’m good. The AirPods Pro seemed to be the ones I choose
The AirPods Max mics are actually really good, and they even sound nice outside (which im outside a lot) I just would like to know how they’d sound when you are moving quickly like if you are riding a bike or something.

I own all 3 and one problem nobody talks about is how the left of all of them randomly get damaged after updates
happened to mine also... AirPods Pro 1st gen. The left makes a horrible static noise when I plug it in my ear in transparency mode or noise cancelling, meaning I paid for pro but cannot use the feature anymore. I just think it is planned so people keep buying them
I just bought a pair of maxs currently have the AirPod pro 1 should which I always used for mowing the lawn and basketball should I get a pair of pro 2s for those and the maxs for leisure
4:27 you know you can switch the ear tips to different sizes
I have the first ever pods that are 6y old plus and what bothers me now it’s they last like 3.5h when I’m just listening to music. Sometimes 4 hour. Seeing that the new ones will barely last more it’s disappointing 😅
I have AirPods Pro 2s and both AirPods last around 6 hours so 12h max. Charging case will charge them both to 100 in 30 min and my case will last for 2 days before it dies
@@coopst I bought pro 2’s 1 week after my comment. Basically they last 1 more hour at best, compared to my very old ones. I like few of the new features
there's actually 3 versions of the airpods pro 2. the originals with lightning, the lightning version but with magsafe case, and the magsafe case version but with usb c.
Hopefully AirPods 4 are more like the 2 than the 3
finally someone with the same perception with the AirPods for me as u mentioned the silicon tips doesn't work on my right ear lol , thanks
Just switch the eartip
@@gwiz4915 i tried many types and nothing, seems that my right ear alwyas fall after 20/30 min of usage
I just dont like the feel of plugged up earholes.
Its the 2 for me.
Great analysis! Thanks
Can I use the airport 3 earbuds with a Android phone
I think the pros are the best because there comfortable and they don't fall out of my ear with the silicone and don't hurt when I lay down.
They stay home.
airpods pro 2 always slip out when I have sweaty workouts and they hurt my ears with long use.
Does it gives the same quality on samsung phones
Can the airport 3 super pros work on it with an Android phone
Can you please tell me what is the latest airpords
I was surprised when you mention you see a lot of people wearing the max. Here in the Philippines and in Japan, most airpods that i see are the pros and the 2 (older people mostly use the 2 and the younger ones use the pros). Only saw the max once in Shibuya in the same color on the video.
Same here in Malaysia most people use airpod
AirPods Pros do come with 3 different sizes for the silicone tips. Anyone know of you’re able to test them at an Apple Store like other products? Looking to get the pros this fall but afraid if they come out with new AirPods Pro later
Can you use them on Android phones?
you can do it with an android phone it’s a bit harder, but you can still do it
Edit: when I said harder, I mean you have to connect like a normal Bluetooth device
AirPods Pro 2 user on Android here. In short, yes you can, but there's a lot of issues:
-No battery indicator - you need the OpenPods app for this
-No way to adjust control, enable adaptive transparency or optimized charging etc at all. You really need an iOS device - say, an iPhone or iPad to even adjust these.
-Of course, Spatial Audio is a no go :D
-You still need an iOS device to update its firmware, too.
Air pods 2 are on sale on Amazon
I had the
Pods 1 - was good but falls easily
Pods 2 - was better than 1 but didn't have ANC
Pro1 - was nice but the right bud started to have issues after 6months(some rattling noise inside, was a common issue that time,2019)
Pro 2 - very good, just not a fan of silicon tips(irritates my ears)
Max - heavy, very very good music quality and ANC/Transparency. (better anc for gym)
I have the AirPods 3 and after a two years one of my AirPods lost sound and was barely able to produce sound
This was a great guide. Thanks a lot
I'm glad you liked it!
I got AirPods 2 OG and they are the best
Maybe this is just me, but maybe it’s not really good to have the feeling of not wearing anything at all when you are wearing headphones, for me is my opinion I’d feel earbuds so I think I’m leaning towards the AirPods PRO actually
Thanks I’m thinking of buying new ones since my current ones I got before covid because they die in 30 min
I tried em all. And my opinion the apple AirPods Pro gen 2 is the best
For me, I look more for comfort rather than quality of sound and material, not like i just don’t care about that, but I just mostly look for comfort. I would choose the headphones, but with that price, nah I’m good. The AirPods Pro seemed to be the ones I choose
I prefer the pro 2nd gen silicon tips version because the extra seal helps with anc and the overall experience while using fixed stereo
The Beats Fit Pro stays in my ears when I’m running the AirPods don’t, not even the Pro
You get a double like for that drawer full of Guinness!!!🎉
Are there any major difference between the USB-C vs the lightning version of the AirPod pros??
Apparently, they tuned the newer one with an upgraded h2 chip to be compatible with vision pro
@@stuartlittle8622 thanks
Awesome review! Just bought the AirPods Pro 2 and I clearly made the right choice.
Question? Which one is louder on phone calls?
I personally think the best one for the money is definitely the pro gen 2
can you travel the speedforce?
Lmao! 😂
Great video. Quick question, how did you record the Mic audio for your testing ?
Yeah, we all need “burpee” proof AirPods 😂
4:39 Just use a different sized tip on the ear that gets loose
Do maxes save you from cold? Temperature is in negative I can’t stop thinking of them when I’m out 😢😂
I do own AirPod Pros Generation 2s, I believe these are the best choice.
The AirPods Max mics are actually really good, and they even sound nice outside (which im outside a lot) I just would like to know how they’d sound when you are moving quickly like if you are riding a bike or something.
I still got the pro 1 gen
I have the airpods Pro 1st gen. The Airpods Pro 2 look really sweet.
I think I’m gonna go with the AirPods Pro 2.5
The fit really depends on your ear size and shape
Mike O'Brien ,ThanksMuch for sharing !
Excellent video thank you for your work.
I can’t use airpods pro because the silicone tips are so uncomfortable for me. I love airpods 2 and 3
