I might just be watching all your videos while i play the Sims, but this vid was super helpful. I now officially know that I'm not switching over from my JLab Go Air Pops anytime soon. I've been using them basically every day for a little over a year and the battery is still going strong, the sound quality is pretty good, and most importantly, they block everything out. I use earbuds to control sensory overload, so that's a major perk for me. The sony ones have a lot of good things ( like I don't wanna tap my earbuds when I'm baking) but the fact they let outside noise in was a major deal-breaker for me. Solid video!! Super informative

Awesome video, you had me engaged the whole time, were concise and your mic quality is fine! I’m definitely going to pick up a pair of these buds now. I don’t understand why there isn’t more of a focus on pass-through/open ear designs in the market, unless I’m on a plane or at home alone I need to be able to hear what’s going on around me to feel safe. Subscribed!

You can also find people selling these for much less on Mercari. These came free with some new Sony phones.

ive been looking for new earbuds since ive washed my last pair on accident. ear irritation is also a big irritation of mine as well. as a big enjoyer of audio quality, i am still not much of an audiophile either, and being able to hear around me is actually perfect. will check these out :)

I know what you mean about in-ears irritating your ears. I've gotten IEMs a few times after people talked them up, but after messing around with tip sizes and cleaning my ears and trying to get them to stay in, it feels like I've rubbed my ears raw and I just give up on them. I primarily use circumaural headphones when at home. For earbuds, stuff like EarPods and AirPods are comfortable enough since they don't penetrate deeply into the ear, though the loose feeling of them makes me feel a bit uneasy, so they still aren't my preference if I can help it. The Sony LinkBuds being open-back is really cool also. My usual headphones, the Sennheiser HD600, are open and it's hard to go back to closed once you get used to it. There's less pressure and my ears can breathe better with open headphones.
It would be neat if they made a wired version with a similar design. I'm still not sold on wireless earbuds anyway, and a wire solves issues with battery capacity changing over time or buds not syncing with each other. I could see an argument that a wire is less safe in a workshop setting, but if you run the cord under your shirt it should mostly stay out of the way.
I"m not currently in the market for something like this, but I'll bookmark them so I don't forget they exist.

Hey! Thanks so much for the comment! Yea I've noticed the same thing with there being less pressure with open backed too I personally can't HEAR much of a difference other than outside sounds coming in more but I do have to say I prefer the feeling of wearing them more. Thanks so much for checking the video out! I hope you have a great day or night or whatever it is where your at haha
