What are you going with btw? Bose or Shokz? No wrong answers
Bose because I wear glasses.
I got the Bose!
Bose since I wear sun glasses and use my headphones mostly outside
Baseus Eli Sport 1
I have the SHOKZ and love them but I really want the Bose. But I switch listening between my tv and my phone so no multipoint Bluetooth is the one thing keeping me from buying Bose.
Here in Aus the Bose is just SOOOO expensive, its hard to justify for me, especially with that mic quality
I wear sunglasses and don’t have any issues with the shokz, but it is a personal preference. Also, you can control the volume directly on the Shokz, you can change the settings to set what the touch controls do. I haven’t tried the Bose, but I really like their products and the sound quality is usually excellent. I find the volume on the shokz is enough at around 70% and the quality is really good. For me, I’ll continue with the shokz, as the price point of the Bose puts me off.
I agree here that I do think Shokz as one of the best over the ear hooks, but as my hairs been getting longer i do feel the Bose more comfortable. I probably even use them lower than 70% but everyone been asking which is louder haha. Shokz is almost half the price and it has multi point connection i think most people will go with the Shokz. The Microphone on the Bose is horrendous too!
@@Aesthetic_Al that makes sense on the comfort factor. I’ve not heard the Bose but I imagine the sound quality is really good.
Hey man, you make really enjoyable and well edited videos, and they all seem really genuine which is nice to see, just commenting to tell you to keep posting!
This comment gets me fired up 🙌 thank you! More videos coming
Taking my Bose back today. The design is great, but that call quality is horrendous for a $300 pair of buds. Hopefully version 2 it will be fixed
This.
...and no multipoint.
Mine are going back too. I REALLY want the Bose though due to the ear cuff design and physical buttons.
Honestly…doubtful. I have a pair of noise canceling earbuds from Bose and the call quality just isn’t there, but the noise cancellation and sound quality are top notch
This is the first comment that I personally have echoed on other pages.
I had mine for one day and returned them. Awesome design but AWFUL audio. Sounded like my earbuds were an inch away from my ears. No base no treble. Impossible to use in a gym or any place with even minimal background noise. They didn’t even sound that great sitting quietly alone in my home. Absolutely not for $300.
I ended up exchanging them for the Bose quiet comfort noise canceling earbuds with a 35% discount for the inconvenience. Thanks to an amazing Bose customer service rep. Waiting on them in the mail. Fingers crossed.
The customer service rep was very receptive to my complaints. I told her that I didn’t want to spend $300 on a generation one for them to fix all the issues on a GEN two.
Just get Baseus Eli Sport 1
@@ricoviii1 Nah. They're ugly af and the Shokz sound much better.
A very good and detailed review, quality products need qualitative reviews like these! Thanks for posting
I've had the OpenFits from day one, love them.
Price on the Bose is just a no go.
Ive got the bose and love them. Lets me listen to audible all day at work but still be present.
This is what i am looking for. Bose seem to fit my activity but when i saw the sound of mic... speechless.
Hope this helps. The Mic is dreadful. You can use them for calls when you're in quiet room but if you're on a call in any mid/loud environment. Terrible experience for the other person on the phone.
Great review, valuable for me because I am making a decision of buying one of those, keep up the hard work, really helpful content! :))
Oh man, i wear glasses so i want the Bose mostly for the clip design, but the microphone sound, for a $300 device, is unacceptable! Back to the drawing board. Does anyone else have suggestions?
I do like your video. It is very good information. I do have a question. I have a pair of Shokz OpenFit and I can control the volume with mine. So you think that it could be different types of phones that might be why you can't control volume with yours?
I just purchased the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds and I love them. Superior sound and comfort. I also wear glasses, so this was a plus. I do not connect to more than one device typically, so this was not an issue for me, but that was a strong point you made. I need to spend some time with them to give it a solid review, but so far, they are in tough competition with my Samsung Galaxy Buds which I love. I recently switched from Samsung to iPhone (not recommended) and was happy the Samsung buds still paired with my iPhone, but I needed something more robust for the gym. Happy so far.
I love my Bose and heard an update is coming for multi point.
Thank you for doing what you do! I am going to go with the shocks hopefully they add the two point connection. I have the separated ones but maybe maybe you’ll do a short one😊
I work in noisy construction spaces. I use bone conduction shokz ones with the behind head band. I love these because i can insert foam in my ear, then turn volume nice and low. Make sense?
hey, I really enjoyed your review. It was completely honest however with the latest version of firmware suit for the shocks, the volume controls are now on the earbuds. I tried the Bose ultra opened and I ended up returning them 56 days of my trial through Best Buy because I’ve got the Best Buy advantage which allows a 60 day return. really wanted to like the Bose, but I’ll tell you why I returned them. Because of my ears the way they’re shaped because they’re more flat. The sound did not go into my ear canal as deep as if you have an ear that has more flap protruding to poke the sound deeper in the ear. I hope you understand. The result would be if I had those type of years louder sound as it was the sound was not loud enough compared to the shocks I was honestly shocked how loud the shocks were because I was used to the Bose being quiet, I’m hoping for Bose ultra open to have a longer music stick in the ear to compensate for people like me that have flat ears. Also, the call quality was not that good with the Bose, but that’s not important. What’s important to me is the quality. I didn’t like the typical earbuds they poke in your ear because I get irritated after an hour or so of wearing them the open air concept for earbuds to me more.
I am not sure if it's only me but try sliding the earbuds down as much as you can.
For me it's the perfect fit when i wear them really really low. It gives me much nicer and louder sound as well was way better comfort (at least for my ears)
I have the Shokz and love them for training, racing, and everyday use, but I would also get the Bose on sale if the microphone sound quality was better just because they have buttons, the design is cool, and they’re a bit more open ear than the Shokz.
I’ll wait until the next update because for $300 those headphones better be absolutely perfect.
Great video thank you!!
My ear tunnels are weird being asymmetrical. I could have 1 bud stick in my ear with my Samsung earbuds when I'm working out, but the left one eventually wiggles out even after trying different fitting sizes. Gonna try out Bose as it seems to be the best and I don't like the hoop. The less contact for my comfort the better.
Not sure which to buy I want earbuds for walking/running. Also I want to be able to walk/exercise outside or gym and listen to audiobooks. Comfort is important Also sound quality to hear phone call or audiobook- ease of use is important. I have an iPhone - so maybe AirPod pro ? The biggest reason I haven’t bought the Apple - I don’t like a device in my ear Any thoughts?
No earbuds are worth $300 these days.
💯
You mentioned when running you like using sunglasses (idk if you use contacts when running) but when working is it something that could be manage using glasses and shokz? Or even running/ working out? What is the biggest difference to like a in ear ones or over ear. Sorry for so many questions. Love your videos! Loved the review!
Much Appreciated! The Shokz are great you can manage for hours. but specifically for running long distance you start feeling them but totally manageable. The Bose i sense no fatigue. Just another level above in comfort.. Somone on tiktok let me a comment on the Bose how it does with piercings. That i don't know but hope someone can share their experience,
Good review mate , a thought occurred to me at the end of your video , just wondering if either of these have any sort of water resistance ?
I’m leaning toward the Bose at the moment , even though budget is better for the shokz, but I’ve had over ear style before which did not go all that well with the glasses , the mic definitely sounded better on the shokz, but I don’t get many calls at all so that’s on the lower priority list I guess.
Anyway , thanks for posting mate.
@@Aesthetic_Al thanks a lot!! Yeah that’s another question entirely. Good work!
@@mikldude9376 Another review I listened to did say that the Bose had a degree of water resistance. I checked on the Bose website and they are rated as IPX4. IPX4 definition: "This rating offers protection against splashes of water, making them suitable for workouts or light rain". In other words, don't drop them in water or try to swim in them. Hope this helps.
You actually can control the volume on open fit. There’s this option settings on the app
Great video. Thank you
I don’t carry my phone while running, so the multipoint connection wouldn’t be an issue. I use my Garmin music player while running. Really my concern would be how comfortable/secure the Bose earbuds are while running. And the battery life for a marathon
Man those Shokz look like hearing aids, the sound quality on the Bose is wild for what it is I feel. Wouldn’t be buying exercise-centric earbuds for taking calls, will just have a non-open pair for that. Solid comparison though
Loving my Bose = fit and sound = awesome.
I have open fit and Oladance. It's really difficult to imagine the Bose sounding as good or better than what I have.
I've heard that the Bose can't play just out of the left ear while u charge the right side. I forget what thats called. Is this true?
I had to try it out just now. Yeah it works. Listened on the left ear while right was in case. Tried it with the other side. worked just fine.. great question
Bone conduction?
Thank you that is so helpful
🙏
You can adjust the volume directly from the Shokz set the feature on the app. Just sayin’
Yap this was a false information in the video. I still dont think it is a good solution, but it does exist
Please compare with Huawei FfreeClip
I bought the shokz and find them really comfortable..their excellent for fone calls..and i like that i can hear whats goin on around me...good battery life..im very happy with them..$190 well spent in my opinion 🙂
I’m gonna wait a little longer to see if Bose does get a multi point update but mainly I’ll wait for a price drop…lol! Great review man!
Much Appreciated!! That price drop will most likely arrive before Multipoint 🤣 If im not mistaken they said that their QuietComfort II were going to get an update and that never happened.
@@Aesthetic_Al I just picked up the Shokz today and low and behold they were on sale for 30% off at several places. I was able to try them on but Bose didn’t have any to try so I went with the Shokz, half the price can’t beat that!
Does sweat cause the Bose to drop off? I sweat buckets so I’m concern if it’ll fall off 😅
if you're sweating from your ears lol. it snugged pretty good and I have a very tiny ears and it was my worries that it'll fall off, but it's good. you can try it and return if you find it not a good fit.
Shout out to those legs!! I'll get the bose when they go on sale! I can wait.
😅thank you. The Price dropping to $200 would be sweet
I will say that using the shokz app should raise the points on the shokz. If you use the app you can lower the bass so it doesn’t sound bad at full volume. A custom EQ could fix the clarity issue when compared to the Bose. You can also customize the controls and even adjust volume from the buds if you change the settings in the app.
So with the app I would say shokz would win.
Very good point about the EQ on the app. I feel Shokz is still a clear winner, I would like to see Sony do an open ear design this year.🤞
Just picked up tozo open buds for $49. We shall see how good they are.
Was it a iPod like app you had on your iPhone??
No app, it's my wallpaper 🤣. You can google Ipod wallpapers you will see plenty
@@Aesthetic_Al thank yooou!!
I have been trying both and I'm keeping the Bose for the exact reasons you mentioned. I wear them for runs and walks and will use my AirPods Pro in the gym for the noise cancelling.
Is sholkz better for noise cancellation around you ?
I'll wait for a $250 sale on Bose, then see for myself. I mainly care about sound quality. Currently my number one is Shokz Openfit. I returned the Oladance Open Pros. Shokz was so much better on sound quality.
I wish the Bose weren’t so expensive because I love the design. Also, the lack of multipoint connection is a bummer.
The worst is the mic nobody ears you
And No Wireless charge
I need call quality
Bose are really comfortable, but the open fit are louder and better sound.
Looks very Spring...wherever you are...and I am jealous.
It was Spring! it still is but now it's blazing hot!! 😭
I will stand by for over ear buds with the call quality & loudness of Shockz & the comfort of Bose.
Thanks for the video 🙏🏽
Of course, thanks for the comment. I predict Sony making a new Sony Linkbuds using this clip on design and with a better mic at $200-$250. At least i hope. 🤞
Merch spotted 👀
Which has better bass response?
Bass and sound quality are noticeably better on the Bose
@@Aesthetic_Al wish I knew this a month ago when I picked up the openfit
@@asherlennon this open ear market is growing FAST! Will probably see other big premium brands release more this year.
@Aesthetic_Al that and a lot of ppl catching ear infections from in earbuds
@@b2bgood870 fr I got some soundcore eabuds from Amazon and didn't clean the tips before I used them I've had tinnitus and ear fullness ever since
Can you make a video on shokz vs oladance ows pro?
I returned my Oladance pro open ears. The Shokz openfit was better in sound and comfort. In fact the Oladance pro was not much improvement in sound compared to oladance OWS2. Which was surprising and dissappoitng.
I really want to Bose, I also have budget, that is not the problem. The only thing I hesitate about,.......life of the product. What if it lasts only for 2 years? and then?
Who knows?
get the Huawei freeclip its a game changer...
I love my bose. I can't believe it but I forget that I am wearing them all the time
Honestly
Touch sensor will never be good feature on Ear Bud like this, still remember JBL also came out with such Ear Bud, & the control sucks, big time
Nope Bose is not getting multipoint. I watched your video again and the best I can figure is you liked the sound quality of Bose. The functionality goes to Shokz. Thanks for the review
Test the Huawei FreeClips 👌🏽
I'll wait for a third party version of the Bose. $$$
If you are outside of the U.S try check out the huawei free clips. I might make a video on them soon
The Bose sounds distorted when talking
Bose sounds like you're in the bathroom. Also Bose missed the bus on multipoint
They are adding it in a future update
Bose has no multipoint, the worst mic compared to everyone - and they want $300?! Showstopper. But not sure about the Shokz either - how about a review of the Huawei Free Clip, a direct lookalike to the Bose and $170?
The Huawei FreeClips are better for a lot less.
Huawei Freeclips FTW!!!!
I own both and the Bose look nicer but feel worse on the ear to me. The audio on the Bose is better for music, but worse for audio books and the spacial audio is dreadful on the Bose. BUT the Bose call quality is awful, completely unusable for calls. People just get angry when I use them, the microphone sound fades in and out. The Shokz call quality is superb, never any complaints.
The Bose are 2 months old and now the left one doesn't charge so i am stuck with a warranty claim.
Unless you only want audio then don't buy the Bose. In fact, the improvement in the audio just isn't worth it. Get the Shokz.
Don’t make this mistake!
Honest review!
Don’t you love UA-cam algorithms! 😂
I have the Shokz in the black and the beige. They’re awesome. I just think that you’re doing your best to push the Bose. It’s the Shokz hands down. 😎
I haven't touched my OpenFit in months, as the touch controls are so horrible. They constantly malfunctioned during winter with a hat on, not to mention not functioning thorough the hat or with gloves.
When i call somone using BOSE 11, people say what shitty earphones are u using, so much of back ground noise, i regret wasting 300 on Bose, shitty earbuds
What about the fact that the bose looks ridiculous?
So expensive. Ridiculous
Shokz DESTROY the Bose in every single way.
I bought the bose and I had to return it to the store I didn't like them they are too expensive not worth that price 300 dollars it's garbage they are overpriced.
I tried the bose but they looked like goofy earrings
