Lots of vids out there showing how to replace any one of these but so far you're the only one I've seen that shows how to do them all! Good camera work, nice pace, excellent presentation style. Well done, thank you.
Imma be honest, I don't actually recall how I got that thing out 🤦🏼♂️ I either messed with it until I got it to come out or I may have ended up cutting it and getting a new bolt. But I'm pretty sure I still have all the original bolts.
@@HitchinMitch Yeah my uppers were easy enough, they were stuck but they at least spun so I was able to wiggle until they came out. My lower rears won’t even spin, the bushings just twist. I’ll give er another go this week with some more heat and PB blaster. I’d hate to pay a shop for two stuck bolts. Worst case scenario I’ll have to grind em off and replace them with new ones. Thanks for the reply man!
Not to be negative, but man you sure put a lot of work into that I learned a lot from you, but you really need to go get yourself a nice pair of tires that are brand new and get it professionally aligned immediately or you’re gonna wear all those parts out in 300 milesbecause it’ll just tear itself apart, although it won’t do it that bad because you’ve got wheels and tires on there but if you had bigger tires and wheels on, there would be extremely bad and your tires are pretty well so forgiving, but nevertheless, I hope you got some brand new tires and took it and got it aligned because you taught me to get some moog components Seriously I’m rebuilding a Lincoln Mark XT that I’m gonna put a flatbed on the back of and I’m gonna totally put everything new into this truck and probably the MOOG brand for the most of it I mean everything I rebuild the four-wheel-drive emissions component on the engine, probably roller rockers timing solenoids Aluminum radiator everything The cost of these trucks today is just crazy. I’ve got two rangers and O2 and an 07 mercury mountaineer seven 2014 F150 in the 2006 Mark XT. I think I’m buying any more cars but I’m just gonna make them all really nice with suspension components and rebuild everything. It’s insane the price of these trucks today and all the stupid tire pressure sensors and all that other crap and God only knows what it’s gonna turn into the road I like most of these fittings. Thanks for your video.
I replaced the front-end suspension on my 2000 Ford F150 @190,000 miles. And oh my, the truck drove like new after thr install. Very smoooooooth after new suspension parts. I highly recommend doing this, and it's soooo worth it.
The bolts from the factory face out in the spring pocket for the upper control arms....you may have put them in the opposite way when you did your bilstein shocks.
I have over 170k on my 2013 f150 and I’ve never replaced anything besides shocks and a CV axle. I need to replace it all now but at 90k miles is a little soon IMO.
I am sure you can run them longer but it all depends what type of driving conditions and roads you are on. It is recommended to change them out around this interval but I couldve have waited however I am kinda picky with my vehicle and could feel the suspension start to loosen up.
@@StewartMcstewartson I’m down in Texas have 236k miles on my 11 f150 ecoboost all I’ve done has been oil changes ,sparkplugs & coil packs at 180k .I’m doing bigger tires so needed a leveling kit might aswell try replacing everything, hopefully I notice a difference
I noticed during your test drive that your low tire pressure light was on. Not sure if you actually had a low pressure or if like my truck it just stayed on. I learned through UA-cam yesterday that you can retrain you tpms sensors which will correct any tpms sensor failure, unless you actually have a faulty sensor. Your video was great and will be a big help. I’m gearing up to do many of the same upgrades/repairs on my 12 F-150 pretty soon. Thanks for sharing.
I'm have the same issue in my 2013 Ford F150 that I just bought as well with the brake release not returning. I would be interested in the video on how to fix that issue. I like your truck content.
I have an up and down shimmy on my 2009 F150 so I'm going to do all of this. The truck has 320K miles and is in need. Parts will be about $500 and wonder what people think about spending money on a truck with so many miles. It runs good. Doesn't smoke and uses about 1 quart of oil between 5,000 mile oil changes.
Wouldn't happen to have the part numbers of those parts would you? I'm looking up the control arm and not seeing the thicker one that you are showing in the video. Thanks and great video.
I'm scratching my head trying to figure out how you got the lower control arm ball joint out of the knuckle without pulling the knuckle itself. Just looking at my truck it looks like you'd have to be a magician to get it past the CV joint especially without ripping the boot. Any tips?
I had the same kick release thing, while I dont know if its the reason for the kick release, I know when I pulled apart my e brake, the parking brake actuator was frozen. It was pretty much rusted in position, so it wasn't really returning after opening
Also, I found out that uneven wear on the driver side brake pads is due to the brake hose on the passenger side caliper being bad, something about uneven pressure, so the driver side is over compensating to make up for it, brake hoses are a pattern failure, replace all if you can, there ar 5, 1 at each wheel, and one center back over the pumpkin
Also, heads up, the poly lined break lines, when I replaced my brake hoses, I think a peice of dirt/rust got between the flare nut and hose while I was turning it. It bound up after a few turns and cracked it, be carefull, and clean everything before you go to unscrew those
Gotta love how all the bolts are backwards. Just did my rear leaf springs and had to cut the front bolts on both sides because the fuel tank and exhaust prevented the bolt from coming out. Pain in the ass to say the least
Bolts are placed that way as a precaution so that if the nut ever came off the bolt won't just fall out and cause an accident. It's frustrating to work on but I get the point.
Just went trough the same issue cut on driver side but on passenger I unbolted 2 hangers next to the step bars that allowed me to push the muffler up & remove the bolt . It’s just 4 10mm bolts . Spent longer dreading the drive to buy a new bolt
Dude, brake pads are cheap. The only thing you gotta worry about is ruptured the diaphragm when you spread them out to put the new pads in then you end up buying calipers. I know how it goes, but you put all that money into it. Why don’t you toss some calipers and some pads on there, bro, what’s another? 150 bucks

How did the moog hold up?
Right
What ended up working to get that stuck LCA bolt out! I'm about ready to cut the damn thing off and replace it entirely

What it cost you? And where did you buy all the parts?
Same issue, I have a 2014 Ford f150. Emergency brake doesn’t fully release
Same here on a 2013 F150. I just use the foot technique!
That’s a thing explain why mine always stiff but rides smooth still I can feel like it’s not completely lose

I had my parking brake levers seized in place…warped my rotors. Their little arms where the brake linkage connects, if that helps
Thanks for sharing . Great video 👍🏻 how much do you spend on all parts
I see a lot of people trashing MOOG parts. How are they holding up ?
They're holding up very well! I keep them greased and oiled as not to rust away.
@@HitchinMitch how often do you grease and oil them
I believe you messed up. Did you load the suspension to sitting height before tightening the upper control arm?
Nice video.
Get yourself some different design upper control arms for your lift. They will relieve stress of the cv axles and make it last longer.
what is the socket size for the lower control arm bolt?

Not off hand, but they are the oe replacement from Moog, but they just build them to be beefier.

He explained it in the video.
Share the link of the parts do you bought beating and I wonder if you bought them in a package all together or you buy them separate?
Do you have an update?
Did you buy this as a kit or bought it all separately?
I had the same kick release thing, while I dont know if its the reason for the kick release, I know when I pulled apart my e brake, the parking brake actuator was frozen. It was pretty much rusted in position, so it wasn't really returning after opening
Its 2 metal plates that just hinge on one another, and they are a known problem point

Summit racing all parts where $360 after taxes
Did these give you more clearance with the level? My arms are hitting my springs.
Hahah same, 2012 f150 parking brake lever sticks every time.
Your title should read, "Better than new."
Is there a parts list?
No he to busy talking
You just have to adjust the parking brake shoes and the pedal should pop up nicely.
This sounds like a rich kid with too much time
Dude you missed alot of things that we the people want to see.
