OK. THIS is the way instructional videos should be done. Camera angle and lighting clearly show what is being described at every point. Clear audio. Solid editing eliminates "filler" and transitions. Clear explanations that define all technical terms. Your segment regarding how to differentiate inner versus outer tie rod end failure was the simplest and most effective I've seen, and I've viewed literally thousands of auto repair videos. Very well done. Thanks, Josh!

Outstanding tutorial. I am a 59 year old grandma and want to make myself knowledgeable about this rumbling noise coming from my front left wheel of my VW Jetta. This tutorial was extremely helpful. Now, once I get this "rumbling" noise investigated by the shop I will have a good idea what the mechanic is talking about and am able to make an educated decission.

I'm having troule with clunking noise driving over speed bumps ( slow or fast) and small depressions too.
I brought it back to my dealer twice in the same day(wasn't fixed the 1st time) and still isn't fixed. Your video tutoriel explained alot about the suspenion system and how it works. Best explanation ever!!!
I could listen to you all day. I find changing light bulbs complicated but you make everything you say so straight forward. This time I have a list of possible problems to ask the mecanic. Thanks a $1,000,000.

Great video, really broke it down to where someone who doesn’t have any idea where to start could figure out what they’re problem May be.
My problem ended up being the axle. Pulled the emergency brake, jacked up both front tires, put it in drive, driver side wheel wasn’t spinning too good(hardly at all), gave it some gas and sure enough, heard the grinding, seen the tire wobbling (changing the wheel bearing and hub as well). Parts come in Wednesday and I’ll be changing them out.

nice video man quick and to the point. One other type of clunking that can happen that is common on Volkswagen in the subframe. The bolts that secure the subframe get worn and will cause the subframe to move when doing just about anything. The bolts always need replaced once removed and need torqued to spec or else they will go bad very quickly again. Signs of them being bad is by looking at the subframe where the bolts are and checking for scrape marks from the bolts sliding.

Thanks for the video. I have a similar problem, but I didn't see it (or at least didn't perceived it) covered in the video. I have this (kind of) loud clunking or click sound that happens when I am in full lock and starting to reverse. It does this twice and I am guessing that it is left and right wheel, but overall just once when reversing in full lock, doesn't matter if it is left or right. It also happens when I am entering my garage. Say that I am driving in the street arriving home, and when approaching the gate, I have to make a 90º curve, and half way here, I have this ramp just before the gate, and when the right wheel is going up this ramp, I also hear this single clunk sound. The clunking sound does not happen when going in a straigh line, forth or backwards, nor when going wide to mid angle circles. From what I can tell, it seems that the sound always comes from a point beneith the front of the car. Do you have any idea of what this could be? (the car is a Seat Ibiza II 1.9 TD 1.9 TDi 2000 model). Thanks again.
