The ggb100 doestn't need radio auto time setting because the phone connection is corrected for you. Changing the battery every two years is simple. With the back track function, the GGB100 is the best G-Shock today.

Thank you for this comparison, it helped be decide on obtaining the gg b100.
As a side note one of the major difference between Mudmaster 1000 and the newer Mudmaster 100 is the battery difference.
The Mudmaster 1000 runs two 395 silver oxide batteries in series @ 3 volts and 110mAh total, while the Mudmaster 100 runs a lithium 2025 @ 3 volts and 160mAh.
As a side topic, it is best NOT to store g-shock solar watches in total darkness. A depleted silver oxide battery, still in the watch, may have its own problems.

I own a gwg 1000. Since 2 years and I think is still one of the best watch I ever owned. I think is still the best after this new release because it's solar powered, and does not need to rely on a phone to be precise. It is completely autonomous. That's why it cost almost the double. I'm not interested in step counter. I simply need something that does not need a battery change (at least for 5 or more years I guess) and something extremely precise by it's own. I need something robust but also a sapphire glass because the glass is the weaker point of a g-shock (or any watch in general). I don't know if the production is going to be stopped, but I just bought 2 shroud and 2 spare straps in order to keep it for the future. Prices are going up lately. I think is time to buy one prior to reach crazy price levels...

Thanks so much for the message Massimo. I agree the GWG-1000 is a special piece. I think you will have zero maintenance for at least 10 years. It's great. And I also think it is a very different watch to the GG-B100, I'm not sure why they gave the same name Mudmaster. Good plan to get extra straps and bezel, they go up in price :) Cheers!

GWG 1000 yeah, is the be(a)st. Happened to tried my own in extreme conditions in Afghanistan desert for max and lowest temperatures +52 celsius (also +57 in other continents) and -46(in the northen Russia), tried it in Iraq desert and in the west and center African jungles, even dived for hours in the sea with it. Barometric pressure, altimeter when flying or on mountain heights and thermometer worked and still work fine. The GWG 1000 model is awesome and the only bad thing for me is its timer which its maximum count is only for 60 minutes maximum.

I bought a GG-1000 two years ago. Still running with the original battery. I like the GG-1000's face better than the GG-B100 and is smaller, lighter and less expensive than the GWG-1000. I was waiting for a tough solar version of the GG-B100 but since it never came, I switched from a Mudmaster to a G-Steel last year (GST-B200): Carbon Core; Self-charging (tough solar); self-adjusting (Blue Tooth). Your comments about the navigation features, and the time zone adjustment when travelling, as well as the carbon cores, light weight, and comfort of wearing such a large timepiece has sold me on a fairly expensive G-shock. @leonpatrick5606 4 роки тому +2

Wow thanks for the reply, and yes the Bluetooth connectivity changes the power drain dynamic of a watch, and it can’t always be reliably recharged via light. That is also true given the limited space available for light to enter a subdial photovoltaic cell that would recharge a light-powered watch. I’m pretty sure that, in the future, Casio will find an interesting engineering solution for this, but for now the one obvious wishlist feature for the G-Shock Mudmaster GG-B100 is solar power generation - if anything because it speaks to Casio’s goal of having watches you never need to power or set.

When you get the GG-B100 you will see the Location Indicator has such great potential, just needs a bit more evolution to make it a genius addition to the Master of G series. I.e. It just looks stealthier and for some people having a digital screen on a watch makes it look less refined. I don't agree with that personally and wear my metal square and GA-2100 with pride in formal environments, both of which have digital displays. Hope that helps. Cheers!

Who is paying 3k for the GWG-1000? You can get them used and new between 300-700 on ebay and other stores. Even the G-Shock web shop has them listed new in that range.

Just the rare discontinued models such as the Maharishi and Desert Camo are priced like that online. It's a lot to ask for a watch that can be bought much cheaper just with a more common colour I agree.
I saw a blackout GWG-1000 in a G-Shock supplier just last week for about 500 USD. It's a beautiful piece.
The G-Shock web shop does sell new models and normal colours at RRP although I find you generally have to be quick to buy them as when you actually go to purchase they often aren't avaliable. Cheers!

I wanted to add a Mudmaster to my collection and wanted the green GWG-1000-1A3, but I just couldn’t justify the price on it, so I went for the green GG-B100 at an incredible $250USD. I am not sure if I’m gonna get used with the missed tough solar feature and changing batteries, but I do prefer the design of the GGB-100 better, not to mention the price difference since the GWG costs double just for tough solar and sapphire crystal.

I think your observation is in the GG-B100 and the fact the screen is convex and bubbles out and gives a minor distortion to the face at certain angles. This is normal if that is what you mean, part of the design. The GWG-1000 face is flat. Regarding whether a G-shock is assembled in Japan or somewhere else: cars from Ford, Toyota, Volkswagen, Honda and other companies are each made in many different countries all around the world, and have been for quite a few decades. I've never yet heard of any quality control issues tied to the country where they were made. I see the trends of certain G-Shocks such a rarer Rangeman, Frogman, Squares and some GravityMasters going that way and predict the Mudmaster will follow suit, look up the GWG-1000 Maharishi. No solar is a deal breaker. to me a g shock has to be solar and as of late it also the time has to auto set, either through blue tooth or atomic. i think that in this day and age having a watch that is not perfectly in time all the time is a bust .
I have both atomic and blue tooth. blue tooth is more convenient for a city dweller since you always near your cell phone. but if you are deployed and don't have access to your cellphone because of battery issues or just policy or if you go through areas that forbid blue tooth use (such as classified areas ) atmoic is a better choice than blue tooth.
I love the gwg 1000 but unless i was fully deployed in the military i don't think I need one? half the functions are going to be wasted on tennis instructor me when i have a compass and temp meters on my smart phone.I do have a rangeman 9400 if i ever venture into the outlands ..but for 99% of my use my gravity master GR-b100 does everything i need ,it is blue tooth , though solar looks fantastic and got it off the outlet store for 200 dollars.

Thanks a lot for your insight Robert. I agree totally when you say watches these days should always tell the correct time automatically. That's one of the biggest gripes of the top end watches that you can spend 10,000 dollars plus on - they aren't totally reliable for their core function. I have a Tag Heuer Carrera and over time it has lost the duration to which it holds its 'charge' after being wound. So imagine my frustration when after a weekend using my Mudman on sports etc I pick it up to go to the office, look at it at work to tell the time and it's lost its charge and it's telling completely the wrong time and even date. And also that is precisely why...... wait for it.... I love G-Shocks. :)
They present absolutely none of these headaches, are much cheaper and in my humble opinion a black out GA-2100 looks great with a suit, as does the black metal square.
Sounds like your Rangeman and GravityMaster are the right models for you and I agree, whilst the GWG-1000 is a wonderful bit of kit it's overkill unless you do some pretty extreme sports/ activity etc.
      Cheers!

@@stormrider1119 I do think that Casio is going the wrong way with g shocks by removing the tough solar capability to add step counters instead . hopefully they go back to the core of g shock which is having a watch that is tough, self reliant (never have to adjust time or change batteries ) and has a few cool task eccentric features.kind of like the gravity master can log flights, the frog can tell dive time and depth, the mud master can navigate .and leave step counting to smart watches.
and about auto time the reason why i think that it is important for watches to always be on time is because at it's core watches have one job, and that is to tell time, that is their main task. if they are getting beat on this task by cellphones and gps devices then this is why people do not wear watches anymore,
And regarding expensive watches.. some watch aficionados get off on automatic mechanisms and such . to me it is too antiquated . they required maintenance every 2 years (which on a watch like rolex it can run into the several hundred dollars) are fragile , and fail at the simple task of telling time accurately .. but to each it;s own.

Is the gg b100 have indicator battery low?

    • @stormrider1119
      @stormrider1119  4 роки тому

So I believe I read an indicator does come up when it needs a new battery but can't recall for certain. I will check the guide and see if it mentions. The battery life on this will be very long though so not much to worry about there. You can do a proactive battery change every few years if it makes you feel comfortable.

I cant see why people have such a problem with changing a battery once every couple of years, the B100 batteries are cheap to buy and the gasket should be checked every couple of years anyway, so whats the problem? maybe its because I don't have a large collection of watches I guess? tbh I looked at the GWG1000 and I don't think it offers the best value for money, it has less features than the b100, and one thing that put me off was the screws in the crown are fake af, just cosmetic, where as in the b100 they are real that just feels more authentic and tactical to me. As far as quality goes the B100 is manufactured in Japan but it is cased in Thailand as long as a manufacturers quality control is good it won't make a difference. Only watch snobs care about things like that, I think the B100 is great because its not cheap, but it's not so expensive that I will be scared to wear it in case it gets damaged. That is why I will be buying a B100.

@@stormrider1119 ok so I have been wearing the GG-B100 for a couple weeks and I love the watch especially how it looks, to me they have hit upon the perfect level of wording its functional in that it tells you enough info but not over the top on the face and they have moved some wording onto the strap but its not in your face so it does not have a gimicky feel about it and looks more grown up. Another great thing is how easy it is to read at night with all the hands, numbers and markers being white it reflects the maximum light and the backlight is amazing so powerful, I have a GA-100 and its completely useless at night so I knew I wanted a watch that was easy to read at night and this is it, also the loom is great and looks cool. The functions are brilliant and practical, I use the barometer all the time its great for predicting the trends in the weather. The only negative I have found is the strap, its very hard the first few days it really made my wrist sore and I had to adjust it to relieve the discomfort, now I have to say its gotten a lot better with time either my wrist has toughened up or the strap has moulded to my wrist a bit more, either way I am able to wear it for extended periods (constantly for days without removing even while sleeping), but I have noticed upon removal I'm left with quite a savage imprint on my wrist, I think in my case I could have done with holes in between the holes im on and the next ones because when i loosen to the next set of holes its a bit looser than i like, so I have ordered some strap adapters from jaysandkays which came today and I will try it on a nato strap, its a bit of a shame because I love the look of the strap, but we will see how comfortable it is on a nato strap and if its worth the sacrifice, if not I will just go back to the original strap as it doesnt bother me that much any more. All things considered I think the B100 is excellent and for the price I think its the best value for money, and If you can get it in a sale like I did at 35% off its a no brainer, I know I could sell it 2nd hand and not loose any money. I'm not worried about the battery when it runs out I will either change it myself using a tutorial on youtube or more likely just pay a local business to do it for me they do it while you wait and you get a guarantee for 2 years, I think it was about 15 quid last time I had my ga-100 done and he services the rubber seal as well. GG-B100 is an easy 9.5/10 only downside is the strap and that probably is subjective depending on wrist size
      Edit/Update:
I now have the nato band and I can say its much much more comfortable I would highly recommend one if you find the GG-B100 strap uncomfortable

*You do have to change the battery of the tough solar, what the hell are you on about??*
Yes solar batteries are much more lasting than normal ones, my GGB lasted three and a half years before having to replace batteries having used only the light & thermometer (you dont even need the other functions) for 10$
Solar batteries last around 10 years and then have to be replaced, the problem is the price
One solar battery costs 80$ to be replaced, regular batteries cost me 10$ for 3.5 years, so if anyone cant calculate the difference, basically it costs 25$ for a regular watch batteries for 10 years and 80$ for a solar battery for 10 years.

So, GWR-B1000 Gravitymaster is still the best G-Shock out there - lighter and cheaper then MT-G and MR. G, while having the same functions, quality of build, solar charging, sapphire glass, full analog, bluetooth and radio connected, etc. And the only G-Shock out there in full carbon. Damn yes I love my watch, but I did my homework before buy also. Good luck with Your new GG-B100 and its yearly battery change in Casio workshop because of special screws that only Casio can unscrew - carbon monoque, but no tough solar - yea...

They could have called it something different so it wouldn't be compared to the GWG-1000. One major factor is price point, the GG-B100 is significantly cheaper hence they couldn't include solar and sapphire. They are two very different watches.

Note, if you're an active soldier or officer the GWG1K is the only option due to the battlefield surveillance threath. A watch connected with Bluetooth to an online cellular will put your whole unit at risk and is therefore prohibited.
