Thanks for the kinds words. I aim to provide useful insights for people who may be considering buying a G-Shock and want to know the basics, as well as some of the less known details. Glad you found it useful...
Thank you for providing these useful tips. The original rangeman 9400 had the feature to return to home-sreen, and I would expect most g-shocks have this feature as well; the rangeman 9400 has an additional feature to immediately start the timer by pressing and hold the bottom right pusher. I live in the bay area of california and it is an extreme fire and earthquake area, having a g-shock that is not dependent on smartphone or grid for pertinent information in an emergency is why g-shock rangeman and mudmaster are my watches of choice. I also carry when leaving the house a maxpedtion jumbo versipak with what I might need for a 24 hour emergency and it does include a 10,000 mAh battery pack and cables. As for compass functions, the bb-b100 has a rerun to location function that is great. The bow-line explanation was worth watching this video to its end; I have used in everything from being a horse wrangler, line-mechanic, and adventurer.
Such an excellent comment man this is why I love UA-cam. You shared G-Shock info, personal experience on the use of battery back up, location finder (excellent function on the GG-B100) and practical us of the bowline knot! Thanks so much man. Always appreciate your input. Sounds like you have a very interesting and active life... brilliant.
Hey always happy to meet a fellow cadet! I was a Canadian Arny cadet in my youth. I can't recommend it enough. A lot of my friends were in Aircadets because you used to get free training to be a glider pilot. Would have been a sea cadet myself but Saskatchewan doesn't have any sea cadet units around where I lived. Pretty much smack dab in the middle of the content. 😅 Army cadets were cool though. Got to learn how to field strip an M-16, free Hue rides once a year plus fieldcraft, and a great place to learn how to shoot. I think more kids should give cadets a chance over something like boy scouts. Great place to learn some discipline and see and do things you'd never get to do in an civilian life. Heck, I got to ride in a mobile artillery piece once. 😅
Such good memories from the British Air Cadets. I did some sessions in Viking gliders, the Bulldog training aircraft (brought in after the Chipmunk) as well as loads of other skills I'll never forget. It's a superb way for youths to develop discipline and self reliance I totally agree. I think it's still very popular in the UK.
That's a great message to receive! So pleased my passion is influencing others :) Thanks for the kinds words good Sir and keep me posted on your collection developments. Cheers!
@@stormrider1119 Thank you for taking your time to reply. I started my collection with the gwg 1000, followed by gw-m5610, and for when I’m concerned about my surroundings, my $20 usd w-800hm, which I think it’s a bang for your buck! My next purchase will be the gwm-5610-1 and you sold me on the g-9300 mudman with your enthusiasm. You seem to enjoy the 9300 very much. Also enjoyed the info on kettlebells. Never had used one. Now I use a 20 pounder and looking to increase weight promptly. Cheers and thank you!
@@latebrakingdan2215 wow you've got a fine collection already. A dig them all and especially as you started with the beloved GWG-1000 plus a classic square. And yes the G9300 is a very special watch in my opinion. Very understated, a great mid range size yet highly highly capable. As I've said before 11+ years hard use and zero issues. Great work on the kettlebells too. If you find them anything like me you will notice significant strength and body change quickly especially as you go up the weight range. Just take your time, perfect the form via good tutorials and do incremental steps. You will feel the benefit in no time. Get after it brother! Cheers
Cool vid. I love the "auto home" long press. Very useful. I've recently modded my 2100, I got the all orange case for it, and I have the black display. Looks great!
I must say that sensor functionality on a G-Shock is in my opinion the biggest selling point. The one I am using the most is thermometer and compass when hiking.
Yeah, great having these things without having to constantly be recharging a smart watch. You just know the G-Shock will work accurately with no drama... Thanks for dropping in Sir!
@@stormrider1119 thank you! Just got 2 mudmasters 1000, my favorite watch of which I'd love to find a red or orange band if you know a good place to get em.
Note, if you're an active soldier or officer the GWG1K is the only option due to the battlefield surveillance threath. A watch connected with Bluetooth to an online cellular will put your whole unit at risk and is therefore prohibited.
Damn, I want one of those gravity masters. U have an older one but the 2 year battery life is bit for me. I take my Gshocks into a jeweler to assure they keep their WR and seals clean when cjg the battery. Normally this is a 20 buck service and I think nothing of it. They chg 50-60 bucks for gshocks. This is irksome to say the least so I'm converting most of my Casios to solar equivalents if possible. Anyway good vid. I always find it hilarious at the number of people who buy these watches but never crack the manual. 👍😅
I've never had to change a battery on my Gshocks so never experienced the battery change practice. The GravityMaster GPW 2000 is tough solar which is why I love it. The backlight is so strong too. A true classic... It feels so solid in the hand too.
Haha. Well I have all the Ray Mears books and have been lost enough times on hikes if that counts :) thanks for the kind words man, really appreciate it...

The 2-Second Press and Hold shortcut of the lower left (8 o'clock position button) to directly return to the main Time of Day Display Mode also works on the new Analog Frogman GWF-A1000! However, a 4-Second Press and Hold of this same button sets the Frogman to Dive Mode! So, if you want to get to the main Time of Day Display Mode, don't overshoot the 2-Second Press and Hold duration by too much. ;)
@@stormrider1119Very much enjoying it! I got the 1A2 suffix version. It has the Blue strap. I found the display highly legible with yellow mode pointer on the 3 o'clock tide & mode sub dial, and yellow numeric and time indices on the 8 o'clock position sub dial.
