If you're gonna do a vid about the Ultimate SHTF watch, you've got to mention that this watch has a barometer. The triple sensor is ABC, Altimeter, Barometer, Compass. It even lets you set an alarm for drastic changes in air pressure to warn you if a storm front is coming in. My 2¢
@@tristandauod I know this reply is late but that REALLY drains the battery. I think (on the rangeman 9400) sometimes that feature can turn off some other functions. (i can't remember what ones)
Bought one about 9 months ago. It's my daily work watch. 7-3/4 wrist and it fits me perfect. Compliments a plenty when people see it. Cost me $487.00 and worth every penny. Jory, you are the man!

Like you, this has been on my 'Grail List' for years. I wore the GG-1000 for a couple of years but finally pulled the trigger on a GWG-1000 1AJF (Japanese version) and I friggin' love it! It was tough to pull the trigger on a G-Shock with this price tag. But by far, it is the epitome of what a rugged and functional watch should be. Never has a G-shock (of mine) garnered so much attention. People just notice and comment on it almost daily. I also have an Apple Watch (series 4) that I wear on occasion...to me it's tech, not a watch! Great video sir!

@Darren Morris well, it will keep time anyway within tolerance (+/-15 sec). multiband just makes it dead on accurate. rolex is automatic, once it stops, you won't have a reference to set it to. anyway, if shit hits the fan, watch will be the least of my concerns

I bought the GG1000 before I knew the difference between the GG1000 and the GWG 1000. I saved a little money but If I had known I would have gone for the slightly larger GWG1000. Here is why. The GWG 1000 has hand stow. Everytime I go to look at the digital display on my GG 1000 the hands are right in the way of the display. It's my only gripe. I love my GG 1000. BUT i would really like hand stow feature, and tough solar, and radio time update, and illuminated numerals, and the triple sensors, and overall BEAST of a watch look. This watch looks like it might just jump off your arm and kick someone's ass. Buy it now. By the way, great video!
I have the same problem as you. Got the GG1000 and I really like it, but I use the stopwatch at the gym all the time and the hands are almost always in the way of the digital display. I actually went back to wearing a old 60$ digital g shock at the gym which has a huge easy display.
Yeah I have the GG 1000. I've come to learn that a watch that has sensors should have the solar tech. I'm always thinking of battery life everytime I use them , or even the light for that matter. It's better to enjoy the watch fully without the battery worry.
Had a GG1000 - looks amazing. The strap was too stiff though. Then I found out about GG-B100. Quad sensor and carbon fiber construction. Biggest appeal was the step counter since I'm a fairly active person. Then I had my sights on the king of mudmasters - the GWG 1000. Last week I bought the military green one and I absolutely love it. As you mentioned above looks as though it might jump off your arm and kick someone's butt. Beast of a watch 100%.
I know it's been 4 years when this video was posted on UA-cam but just got my GWG 1000 before 2 months new from a dealer, so 👏👏👏👏 for this encouraging episode, by the way all your other posts are great and fun to watch 👍
The things I like about your Mudmaster is the metal buttons, the metal screws and I love Casio added a sapphire crystal. I wear a G-shock everyday at my job (contractor) and the watch is bomb proof, but the crystal is all scratched up.
I've had mine for a while and one thing I unexpectedly like about this watch is the ability to push the buttons while wearing work gloves. Especially in the winter.

Andrea Gargano Mine is about a 7 1/2 and it’s true. It fits perfectly. The band is curved on each side, so it sits perfectly on all sizes of wrists. Although, I guess if you are a young person, a woman or someone with VERY small wrists, this watch would absolutely too big,

little did my mom know that for my 15th birthday (less than a months time) id be getting one of these. I have a dw5600 and its been with me through all sorts of scenarios from gokarting to mountain biking and its perfectly fine. Even when i smashed it straight into a sharp rock when mountain biking and i put my left arm out, it still worked. Hoping that this Mudmaster can to even better, but then again, if its got Jory's seal of approval, ive got nothing to worry about.
I've had this watch in my collection for a good while now. Its a great watch and is very very easy to use, especially if you've owned previous G-Shock ABC watches. Congrats on the purchase.
@@Illsamustache Mudmaster has Analog Digital which makes it better looking and along with that it has a Sapphire Crystal and probably is one of the toughest watches ever made.
@@007SAMRATROY That's 100% subjective. It's not better looking to many, and sapphire crystals are more prone to shattering than mineral glass. The MM crystal is larger and more exposed to damage than the smaller Rangeman crystal, and has mechanical parts (hands, motor) that have failed in some watches. So not, it's not any 'tougher' than a Rangeman.
I have the lesser mudmaster, step down from the solar powered one. I've had it for almost three years, my whole army career. I've put it through some very rough conditions, and it still looks and works great. The only wear and tear on it is the paint on the lettering.

That's what I love about DW5600 V1. It's a 500$ watch review, but when it comes to real usability and every day functionality, a 40$ watch just runs all over it. Awesome!!
I love the big analog display hands that makes it very desirable. The size of this watch is huge, yet elegant. The two functions I love most is Tough Solar and Atomic Timekeeping. If I had the money, this watch will be my no-1 choice. By far...
I've got a mudman that I dearly love for all the reasons you mentioned for loving... literally any G-Shock. It's a particularly good jackassing watch for when you need a watch for jackassery. Big, clonky, and more functional than you need. And yes I know there's probably some military person in Nicaragua who's killed three g-shock mudmen, but you are not that person, nor are most of the people who own a mudman. That said I personally have never liked the analog/digital readout on any watch which is purely just a personal thing. If that's what you're into, more power to you, it's just not an aesthetic I enjoy. Again, I'm not trying to knock anyone who does like that aesthetic. It really doesn't take anything away from the big clonky look that G Shocks have, it just puts it into a slightly different format
I trully doubt a military person in nicaragua can kill this watch, that soldier will be dead and his g shock would keep on going . I had a titanium pro trek for over 8 years , and i got bored of it before i killed it, and I wore it for everything ! mountain biking, camping , even a hardcore camping trip where we had to crawl in the mud. and it was not even a g shock

It is exactly the same for me as well . Was trying to find similar G shock that comes close to this. I think the most difficult part is to match the lume that this Mudmaster present others are just too little to even be recognize.
I hear you . I bought the Rangeman GPR 1000 and it's awesome. I've worn it almost every day since I bought it a couple of months ago. I'll probably be buying the GWG Mudmaster so the wear time "competition" between my 2 grail watches will be interesting.
Glad to see another lefty😁. Just ordered this in the 1A1 flavor. Definitely agree about the size for everyday wear but its so hard to go back to a smaller watch after wearing these XL G -Shocks.
Damn, honestly the legibility (especially the lume shot), along with all the functions make this a pretty darn good deal for what you're getting. With the solar function on top and the compass, jeez! Almost seems like a practical purchase to make and get it over with and just "have it in case" at home or w/e. great review!
Bought mine GWG 1000gb-1a black/gold limited edition back in 2015 and till today it's working flawlessly and can't see any usermark either. love my mudmaster!! Collectors even offered to buy my watch for double the price but i'm not selling it.. 💪😍
My first G Shock was a red g7900aer & I now have a rad collection of g shock watches. They’re just so cool and are good beautifully made time pieces .I can never go back to different makes .I want a mud master next .
I absolutely love my 2 G-Shocks. Gotta GA-150 and a GW9400. The Rangeman is my daily wear watch, and it gets beat and abused alot. Lasterday it got showered with metal sparks for hours, and after running some hot water and a lil bit of dish soap, the thing looks brand new. Imo G-Shocks are really the best watches in the world.
Great review...i have one on order (the 1A1) and I've wanted one ever since i got into G-shock collecting. What's funny is that going through the G-shock catalogs etc i didn't care what the watches do because i know they are all multifunctional, for me it was just looks and quality and this watch has a very complex industrial or techno or terminator styling and i actually prefer simpler styling but for some reason this watch has the most bad ass presence without looking cheesy like some brands...the Japanese just know something about true styling and regardless of price to me it's worth it
I finally got this bad boy a few days ago! I got the 1A version and although it's secondhand it's in pristine condition. Came with an aftermarket nylon NATO strap. Fricking love this watch! Been wanting a cool ass G-Shock for a while.
My bad and failing eyesight almost demands the analog dial and I'm 6'1" and 255 lbs so naturally I'd like a huge dial. Small digital dials are out of the question. I also saw your video of changing the band to canvas using adaptors. Thanks your videos are great.
@Mark Rodriguez it works pretty good when dirtbiking, but my hiking pace must be to slow and the scale to large that its not all that useful on day hikes
Bought this on an impulse during a sleepless night ready to return it immediately after realising the price for "just a plastic g-shock" like the £100 one I already have but I'm really impressed by it, it has a good weight, doesn't look like plastic at all and it does look like it costs money. Couple things you missed is that it has 2 lights (one from the right of the LCD screen) and as someone said it has plenty warning for the crown being open, like the red ring being exposed and a digital warning on the LCD after 1 minute i believe. Not to mention the depth that every function has, absolutely brilliant!

did everybody just forget that the Gulfmaster gwn-q1000 existed? all of these features AND moon phase, tide data, sunrise/sunset tracking, & a depth sensor with the bar20, analogue hands, and saphire glass. THAT is the unrivaled SHTF watch.
Triple sensor is barometer, thermometer and altimeter. Compass is not part of the triple sensor. The barometer, which you failed to mention, is a huge feature of this watch with storm alarms. Sorry you missed this as it's really cool.

I have this watch as well in the GWG-1000MH-1A style which is the limited Maharishi edition. I absolutely love it and I just happened to stumble across it at a local boutique though it happens to be one of the most rare Mudmasters. Even though it is one of the highest end G-Shocks, my other G-Shock is the DW5600E-1V which is at the lowest end and I absolutely love them both.
I don't think the Apple watch has an internal compass. There's a compass app you can get that references GPS. Also you gotta charge up the apple watch every 18 hours.

Congrats on the Muddy. One thing I disagree with is the lume, I’ve had mine for two years, and the lume seems a lot dimmer than yours. Maybe they changed the formula in the meantime. That said, I’d trust it above every other field watch out there. Now get out there and scuff it up a bit! Get some scars on it!

I've owned the exact same gwg for a year now. It is a badasss watch and extremely durable. You'll love it Jory. My only complaint is it's not going under a tight sleeve!
in regards to your worry about people forgetting to screw the crown back in. my uncle gave one of these to my brother when he joined the marine core. he didnt know the crown even screwed in for the first year he had it until I asked him if he screwed it in. so his mudmaster has gone through basic training and 2 deployments all with the crown unscrewed. in korea he was sleeping on the ground in standing water for days at a time so if the mudmaster can make it through all of that misuse I would venture to say it would probably be fine as long as you arent diving with it
Receive gwg 1000 1a3 this Tuesday, at first day wear founs this beast dig my wrist and bond due to the bulk size. Now is getting better, probably my wrist get use to it or watch band become bit softer? Who knows. Love this watch, great looking and tough as nail
I respectfully disagree. I’ve worn this watch 24/7 since I got it over 6 months ago. Very comfortable, practical and I love the way it shows me the time in the middle of the night with just a turn of the wrist. One of the two best watches I’ve ever owned. It’s the Big Boy watch...
Great presentation. Another con is the crown which is attached to a metal spindle. If the crown is unscrewed and pulled too hard the spindle can snap off leaving remnants of the spindle inside the movement which is almost impossible to remove. Be carefull not to tug too hard on the crown. Same applies to other crown bearing models. Other than that, Casio are top of the game. Thanks and well narrated.
Time for some more Jays & Kays adapters! I have the dual censor MudMaster and just installed the adapters and a Barton Elite Strap in army green. It is now much more comfortable than the stiff plastic G-Shock Strap. Enjoy your new watch. I am glad you realized atomic clock sync is useful and cool! As capable as they are, I don’t wear my MudMasster often because of it’s size. I have skinny wrists, so it is a challenge. Mine is not tough solar or atomic clock linked. I also don’t have the altimeter. Oh well….Enjoy yours!
I have a GW-9400 and though i love the watch as as do all casios, but the baro and Alt isnt accurate at all... Ive gone through all the set up but sort of disappointing.

Ive over 100 gshocks. The mudmasters are my favourites. Love the Maharishi LE (they are selling for over a grand now). And I have a Rolex rootbeer as well which I bought myself for my birthday. Im weird.
hey an awesome review and im getting one asap I have aGMT2 Rolex Pepsi but wear my G shock Rangeman heaps more after getting a little disorientated in the desert sand dunes, having done a few sniper courses we were told it takes around 20 minutes for your night vision to take full effect. cheers man

i been wearing the crap out of mine for 2 years and it still looks pristine. Best watch i ever bought. I recent sold my sd43 and the rest of the mechanicals becouse this watch made them obsolete (to me)
He lists as a potential 'con' that when you unscrew the crown to change some menu setting, you may forget to put it back in. Casio have cleverly designed the crown so that when you unscrew it, it exposes a RED warning band to remind you of that very thing... Once you screw it back in, the red band is hidden.
8:28 yeah I had that experience with the Tissot T-touch which I bought for temp compass function. But the watch was not very intuitive to use and required that I look up how to change or use the feature every time. Which is why I'm looking at Casio's as a replacement I don't even necessarily need this top tier Casio ome of their $70 non gshock watches with temp comp will do the job just fine.
There are quite a few Pro Trek models that have the same functions and version 3 sensor, but in a much smaller and thinner package. For some, these might be a good choice, but you're trading some durability for the reduced size.
I am in love with Automatic Watches and own a couple of them... I don't exactly know why I bought a used GG-1000... But... Since I have it, it nearly never left my wrist... Exit watch.
i work in an oil refinery and its stood up to crude oil gas diesel and other chems, still going, brought it to the gym and did deadlift 225 benched 225 ran and sweat on it,still going, shot guns shotguns long rifle still going. its truly a mans man watch, and i use it every day

Check out the Casio PRG-300 Protrek triple sensor. 47mm wide and 13mm thick .positive display. A great alternative to the GWG-1000 and it will fit those smaller wrists.
Check out the "gg1000" instead of "gwg1000" - mudmaster with compass - I had one and just sold it on Ebay. Heck of a watch - attention getter - half price of gwg or lower, shop around but dont get had, if you know what I mean. There are some great copy cats.
Believe it or not I'm a window cleaner.. But this just seems like I could use every functionality of it. from the compass to finding my route to all the weather implementations to know if its gunna be washable or if ill get rained out. to how high up ill be with the altimeter.
If you're gonna do a vid about the Ultimate SHTF watch, you've got to mention that this watch has a barometer. The triple sensor is ABC, Altimeter, Barometer, Compass. It even lets you set an alarm for drastic changes in air pressure to warn you if a storm front is coming in. My 2¢
Didn't know about the atmospheric pressure alarm. That's a really cool function. I'd have that set on all the time just for fun lol

@@tristandauod I know this reply is late but that REALLY drains the battery. I think (on the rangeman 9400) sometimes that feature can turn off some other functions. (i can't remember what ones)

Like you, this has been on my 'Grail List' for years. I wore the GG-1000 for a couple of years but finally pulled the trigger on a GWG-1000 1AJF (Japanese version) and I friggin' love it! It was tough to pull the trigger on a G-Shock with this price tag. But by far, it is the epitome of what a rugged and functional watch should be. Never has a G-shock (of mine) garnered so much attention. People just notice and comment on it almost daily. I also have an Apple Watch (series 4) that I wear on occasion...to me it's tech, not a watch! Great video sir!

@Darren Morris well, it will keep time anyway within tolerance (+/-15 sec). multiband just makes it dead on accurate. rolex is automatic, once it stops, you won't have a reference to set it to. anyway, if shit hits the fan, watch will be the least of my concerns

I recently got the GWG-1000-1A1 and absolutely love it. This was at the top of my list as far as G shocks go. 🤙🏼🙌🏼
I bought the GG1000 before I knew the difference between the GG1000 and the GWG 1000. I saved a little money but If I had known I would have gone for the slightly larger GWG1000. Here is why. The GWG 1000 has hand stow. Everytime I go to look at the digital display on my GG 1000 the hands are right in the way of the display. It's my only gripe. I love my GG 1000. BUT i would really like hand stow feature, and tough solar, and radio time update, and illuminated numerals, and the triple sensors, and overall BEAST of a watch look. This watch looks like it might just jump off your arm and kick someone's ass. Buy it now.

I have the same problem as you. Got the GG1000 and I really like it, but I use the stopwatch at the gym all the time and the hands are almost always in the way of the digital display. I actually went back to wearing a old 60$ digital g shock at the gym which has a huge easy display.
Yeah I have the GG 1000. I've come to learn that a watch that has sensors should have the solar tech. I'm always thinking of battery life everytime I use them , or even the light for that matter. It's better to enjoy the watch fully without the battery worry.
Had a GG1000 - looks amazing. The strap was too stiff though. Then I found out about GG-B100. Quad sensor and carbon fiber construction. Biggest appeal was the step counter since I'm a fairly active person. Then I had my sights on the king of mudmasters - the GWG 1000. Last week I bought the military green one and I absolutely love it. As you mentioned above looks as though it might jump off your arm and kick someone's butt. Beast of a watch 100%.
I know it's been 4 years when this video was posted on UA-cam but just got my GWG 1000 before 2 months new from a dealer, so 👏👏👏👏 for this encouraging episode, by the way all your other posts are great and fun to watch 👍
The things I like about your Mudmaster is the metal buttons, the metal screws and I love Casio added a sapphire crystal. I wear a G-shock everyday at my job (contractor) and the watch is bomb proof, but the crystal is all scratched up.
I've had mine for a while and one thing I unexpectedly like about this watch is the ability to push the buttons while wearing work gloves. Especially in the winter.

Andrea Gargano Mine is about a 7 1/2 and it’s true. It fits perfectly. The band is curved on each side, so it sits perfectly on all sizes of wrists. Although, I guess if you are a young person, a woman or someone with VERY small wrists, this watch would absolutely too big,

little did my mom know that for my 15th birthday (less than a months time) id be getting one of these. I have a dw5600 and its been with me through all sorts of scenarios from gokarting to mountain biking and its perfectly fine. Even when i smashed it straight into a sharp rock when mountain biking and i put my left arm out, it still worked. Hoping that this Mudmaster can to even better, but then again, if its got Jory's seal of approval, ive got nothing to worry about.
I've had this watch in my collection for a good while now. Its a great watch and is very very easy to use, especially if you've owned previous G-Shock ABC watches. Congrats on the purchase.

GW9400-1 Rangeman should be in this conversation, as it has more functions than the Mudmaster for less $$.
@@Illsamustache Mudmaster has Analog Digital which makes it better looking and along with that it has a Sapphire Crystal and probably is one of the toughest watches ever made.
@@007SAMRATROY That's 100% subjective. It's not better looking to many, and sapphire crystals are more prone to shattering than mineral glass. The MM crystal is larger and more exposed to damage than the smaller Rangeman crystal, and has mechanical parts (hands, motor) that have failed in some watches. So not, it's not any 'tougher' than a Rangeman.

I have the lesser mudmaster, step down from the solar powered one. I've had it for almost three years, my whole army career. I've put it through some very rough conditions, and it still looks and works great. The only wear and tear on it is the paint on the lettering.

That's what I love about DW5600 V1. It's a 500$ watch review, but when it comes to real usability and every day functionality, a 40$ watch just runs all over it. Awesome!!
I love the big analog display hands that makes it very desirable. The size of this watch is huge, yet elegant. The two functions I love most is Tough Solar and Atomic Timekeeping. If I had the money, this watch will be my no-1 choice. By far...
I've got a mudman that I dearly love for all the reasons you mentioned for loving... literally any G-Shock. It's a particularly good jackassing watch for when you need a watch for jackassery. Big, clonky, and more functional than you need. And yes I know there's probably some military person in Nicaragua who's killed three g-shock mudmen, but you are not that person, nor are most of the people who own a mudman. That said I personally have never liked the analog/digital readout on any watch which is purely just a personal thing. If that's what you're into, more power to you, it's just not an aesthetic I enjoy. Again, I'm not trying to knock anyone who does like that aesthetic. It really doesn't take anything away from the big clonky look that G Shocks have, it just puts it into a slightly different format

I had a titanium pro trek for over 8 years , and i got bored of it before i killed it, and I wore it for everything ! mountain biking, camping , even a hardcore camping trip where we had to crawl in the mud. and it was not even a g shock

I think the most difficult part is to match the lume that this Mudmaster present others are just too little to even be recognize.

Damn, honestly the legibility (especially the lume shot), along with all the functions make this a pretty darn good deal for what you're getting. With the solar function on top and the compass, jeez! Almost seems like a practical purchase to make and get it over with and just "have it in case" at home or w/e. great review!

My first G Shock was a red g7900aer & I now have a rad collection of g shock watches. They’re just so cool and are good beautifully made time pieces .I can never go back to different makes .I want a mud master next .

I absolutely love my 2 G-Shocks. Gotta GA-150 and a GW9400. The Rangeman is my daily wear watch, and it gets beat and abused alot. Lasterday it got showered with metal sparks for hours, and after running some hot water and a lil bit of dish soap, the thing looks brand new. Imo G-Shocks are really the best watches in the world.
Great review...i have one on order (the 1A1) and I've wanted one ever since i got into G-shock collecting. What's funny is that going through the G-shock catalogs etc i didn't care what the watches do because i know they are all multifunctional, for me it was just looks and quality and this watch has a very complex industrial or techno or terminator styling and i actually prefer simpler styling but for some reason this watch has the most bad ass presence without looking cheesy like some brands...the Japanese just know something about true styling and regardless of price to me it's worth it

My bad and failing eyesight almost demands the analog dial and I'm 6'1" and 255 lbs so naturally I'd like a huge dial. Small digital dials are out of the question. I also saw your video of changing the band to canvas using adaptors. Thanks your videos are great.

Love my gwn-1000. Just ordered my grail gshock, magma ocean gpr-b1000tf-1jr. Couldnt find any except the Japanese version.

Bought this on an impulse during a sleepless night ready to return it immediately after realising the price for "just a plastic g-shock" like the £100 one I already have but I'm really impressed by it, it has a good weight, doesn't look like plastic at all and it does look like it costs money. Couple things you missed is that it has 2 lights (one from the right of the LCD screen) and as someone said it has plenty warning for the crown being open, like the red ring being exposed and a digital warning on the LCD after 1 minute i believe. Not to mention the depth that every function has, absolutely brilliant!

Triple sensor is barometer, thermometer and altimeter. Compass is not part of the triple sensor. The barometer, which you failed to mention, is a huge feature of this watch with storm alarms. Sorry you missed this as it's really cool.
Altimeter and barometer is the same. It just covert air pressure to relative altitude.

I have this watch as well in the GWG-1000MH-1A style which is the limited Maharishi edition. I absolutely love it and I just happened to stumble across it at a local boutique though it happens to be one of the most rare Mudmasters. Even though it is one of the highest end G-Shocks, my other G-Shock is the DW5600E-1V which is at the lowest end and I absolutely love them both.
I don't think the Apple watch has an internal compass. There's a compass app you can get that references GPS. Also you gotta charge up the apple watch every 18 hours.
@@icewarped But what if you're in a shopping mall or a cave or a post-apocalyptic hellscape and can't get an uplink? No problem with an internal compass.

Congrats on the Muddy. One thing I disagree with is the lume, I’ve had mine for two years, and the lume seems a lot dimmer than yours. Maybe they changed the formula in the meantime. That said, I’d trust it above every other field watch out there. Now get out there and scuff it up a bit! Get some scars on it!

I've owned the exact same gwg for a year now. It is a badasss watch and extremely durable. You'll love it Jory. My only complaint is it's not going under a tight sleeve!

in regards to your worry about people forgetting to screw the crown back in. my uncle gave one of these to my brother when he joined the marine core. he didnt know the crown even screwed in for the first year he had it until I asked him if he screwed it in. so his mudmaster has gone through basic training and 2 deployments all with the crown unscrewed. in korea he was sleeping on the ground in standing water for days at a time so if the mudmaster can make it through all of that misuse I would venture to say it would probably be fine as long as you arent diving with it

Receive gwg 1000 1a3 this Tuesday, at first day wear founs this beast dig my wrist and bond due to the bulk size. Now is getting better, probably my wrist get use to it or watch band become bit softer? Who knows. Love this watch, great looking and tough as nail

I respectfully disagree. I’ve worn this watch 24/7 since I got it over 6 months ago. Very comfortable, practical and I love the way it shows me the time in the middle of the night with just a turn of the wrist. One of the two best watches I’ve ever owned. It’s the Big Boy watch...

Great presentation. Another con is the crown which is attached to a metal spindle. If the crown is unscrewed and pulled too hard the spindle can snap off leaving remnants of the spindle inside the movement which is almost impossible to remove. Be carefull not to tug too hard on the crown. Same applies to other crown bearing models. Other than that, Casio are top of the game. Thanks and well narrated.

Time for some more Jays & Kays adapters! I have the dual censor MudMaster and just installed the adapters and a Barton Elite Strap in army green. It is now much more comfortable than the stiff plastic G-Shock Strap. Enjoy your new watch. I am glad you realized atomic clock sync is useful and cool! As capable as they are, I don’t wear my MudMasster often because of it’s size. I have skinny wrists, so it is a challenge. Mine is not tough solar or atomic clock linked. I also don’t have the altimeter. Oh well….Enjoy yours!

I have a GW-9400 and though i love the watch as as do all casios, but the baro and Alt isnt accurate at all... Ive gone through all the set up but sort of disappointing.

Ive over 100 gshocks. The mudmasters are my favourites. Love the Maharishi LE (they are selling for over a grand now). And I have a Rolex rootbeer as well which I bought myself for my birthday. Im weird.
hey an awesome review and im getting one asap I have aGMT2 Rolex Pepsi but wear my G shock Rangeman heaps more after getting a little disorientated in the desert sand dunes, having done a few sniper courses we were told it takes around 20 minutes for your night vision to take full effect. cheers man
I just got a GWG-2000, and I absolutely love it. I still kinda want a GWG-1000 though because of how chunky and tanky it is.

Great review Jory. Very cool G-Shock. I might just have to add this one. I have the MudMaster without the triple sensor and tough solar. Because of those two not being present, it just doesn’t get much use.
i been wearing the crap out of mine for 2 years and it still looks pristine. Best watch i ever bought. I recent sold my sd43 and the rest of the mechanicals becouse this watch made them obsolete (to me)
I have a bare bones G-Shock GA100-1A1. Love it, but would also love to upgrade someday.
He lists as a potential 'con' that when you unscrew the crown to change some menu setting, you may forget to put it back in. Casio have cleverly designed the crown so that when you unscrew it, it exposes a RED warning band to remind you of that very thing... Once you screw it back in, the red band is hidden.
Big and bulky? That's because it's a G-Shock. Want all the same features but without the bulk, get a ProTrek.
8:28 yeah I had that experience with the Tissot T-touch which I bought for temp compass function. But the watch was not very intuitive to use and required that I look up how to change or use the feature every time. Which is why I'm looking at Casio's as a replacement I don't even necessarily need this top tier Casio ome of their $70 non gshock watches with temp comp will do the job just fine.
There are quite a few Pro Trek models that have the same functions and version 3 sensor, but in a much smaller and thinner package. For some, these might be a good choice, but you're trading some durability for the reduced size.
I am in love with Automatic Watches and own a couple of them... I don't exactly know why I bought a used GG-1000... But... Since I have it, it nearly never left my wrist... Exit watch.
i work in an oil refinery and its stood up to crude oil gas diesel and other chems, still going, brought it to the gym and did deadlift 225 benched 225 ran and sweat on it,still going, shot guns shotguns long rifle still going. its truly a mans man watch, and i use it every day

Check out the Casio PRG-300 Protrek triple sensor. 47mm wide and 13mm thick .positive display. A great alternative to the GWG-1000 and it will fit those smaller wrists.

Check out the "gg1000" instead of "gwg1000" - mudmaster with compass - I had one and just sold it on Ebay. Heck of a watch - attention getter - half price of gwg or lower, shop around but dont get had, if you know what I mean. There are some great copy cats.
Believe it or not I'm a window cleaner.. But this just seems like I could use every functionality of it. from the compass to finding my route to all the weather implementations to know if its gunna be washable or if ill get rained out. to how high up ill be with the altimeter.
