@@nelc2399 mainly its the GG-B100 has more functionality but the GWG-1000 has tough solar and crystal sapphire where the GG does not. The GG is also a little more comfortable on the wrist when running because it has the Carbon Core back plate which is smoother. It's explained in much more detail in the videos I've done. Cheers!
GWG1000 is an awesome watch. I would prefer the comfort and weight of the carbon core but one of things I like about G-Shocks is that they are big and bold. I’d rather have tough solar and multi-band 6 than Bluetooth. If you can get the GWG at a lower than RRP price then it’s well worth it.
Yes the GWG is the real deal and has a certain x factor that very few watches do. It's built like a tank and that's why I use it in the most challenging environments. Cheers...
I have the GG-B100, which is already big enough for me, I have a skinny wrist and the GWG would look absurd on me. Also, I much prefer the look of GGB and the carbon bezel. Although the main weakness is the lack of tough solar, which I am more than happy to pay an extra $100 for.
I really think you won't be disappointed with the GG-B100. Really is a class piece of kit. Such a comfortable watch on the wrist also... Let me know if you go for it and what colour you go for. The blackout and the orange strap version is also nice. There is also a Burton special edition which isn't too much more expensive but depends if you like the colours. Cheers.
Hi stormrider, just wanted to give you an update on how the training is going. The GWG1000 1A3ER (army green strap) arrived and I’m blown away with it. Wow what a watch! It’s literally got hard as hell written all over it, I love it 💙 I have mainly been hitting the coast lines and the mountain where I live, it’s been 5 mile walks tough terrain and I feel great already, 0.5 of a stone off and eating healthy. I know I’m back on track it’s that feeling I have again when I craved training, biking , mountain walks, gym and weights. Next step is push ups and sit ups using the hour club method you showed in your other post. Looking forward to taking my training up a level Already. In 2 weeks i will include mountain biking and incorporate kettle bells every other day. Thanks for the little push even if you think you’ve not done much it’s really great to see G shocks getting used to push people and train harder. I love wearing mine while I mountain walk it really looks great and performs so many applications of use that I use and find so god damn handy! Keep up the great work stormrider 💪🏻
Kev that is great news, sounds like you are on a mission. Another thing I recommend if you are upping your activity is to keep well hydrated, sounds basic but it's so easy to underhydrate when you step up your training. The gwg is a phenomenal training partner, I absolutely love using the compass to help with direction when on hikes or the bike. Glad you're cycling too, I'm really starting to get into it recently and it's a great way to stay fit. Long Zone 2 (low heart rate) rides are very powerful for fitness and getting lean. I've got Zwift and an indoor trainer recently too which is excellent when the weather isn't great. Keep pushing mate! Cheers!
@@stormrider1119 great advise buddy and yes 2 litres of water a day roughly I drink and have done for sometime, sparkling water is great stuff! A good pair of cycling shorts is a must with cycling of any kind, road/ mountain biking/ indoors.. it’s a butt saver and also a cream to prevent chaffing. It’s all probably known but any tips anyone can offer I’m a listener... keep up the great work and the content stormrider 👍🏻
@@kevwilliams1 funny you say that Kev, I've only since December had a proper pair of cycling bib shorts and you are absolutely right, it's a game changer. I'm into the sparkling water too, I just enjoy drinking it more for some reason, slice of lime in there when I really want to treat myself haha
@@stormrider1119 hahaha yeah same here with a slice of lemon! 😂 you can tell quality sparkling water when it has a sweeter taste to it, that’s the minerals. I think I’m actually addicted to sparking water ?? It’s all I drink along with teas and good quality french pressed coffee, this conversation may seem boring to some but I tell you this content right here is my daily life and corner stones ! I don’t drink alcohol I actually detest the taste of it in most forms, and in a way that fizz feeling at the back of the throat with drinking sparking water reminds me of when I use Would drink Pepsi/ Coca-Cola it’s that fizz feeling but with a healthy twist. My 6 year old son loves sparking and asks for it! I’m doing something right lol keep up the good work 💪🏻
Excellent review on watches of the same family. I favor the GGB100 over GWG1000 for design, cost, and bluetooth. My big wish for GGB100 is that it was Solar. Secondly with GGB100 had domed sapphire crystal. Being less than half the cost of GWG1000 is a fair compromise. Both are great G-shocks!
Thanks Rey. So many people say the same about wishing for solar on the GG-B100, but you are right, the cost is a compromise, sapphire would also pump the price up significantly. I also wonder if they could make all the functions work like location indicator with solar? I do think the technology is moving forward so fast that it will be a reality soon. Cheers and thanks for the comment!
@@pielichiewicz very good point. Honestly I have not looked into the GWG100 in depth yet. Its something I plan to do. I'm sure it's a solid option, not as visually appealing to me as the two in this video, but that's subjective. Thanks for the comment, cheers!
@@stormrider1119 You're right - GWG100 is not as attractive as GWG1000 or GGB100 (dial design, less functions). But as I mentioned earlier, it has two important things to be maintenance-free (solar, waveceptor). I have my daily watch already (OCW-S100-1AJF) which is nearly perfect. I need tough watch and I'm going to buy one of Mudmaster G-Shocks,but this is difficult for me. I'm afraid a little of wearing GWG1000 because of its size (my wrist is 19cm). I think GG-B100 is best choice. It's smaller and more comfortable, has Carbon Core Guard, some kind of waveceptor (BT connection with smartphone), many useful functions (finding location is my favourite). Lack of sapphire is not important for me (isn't sapphire too fragile for such watches?). Only thing I'll miss is solar.
@@pielichiewicz I understand where you are coming from. Don't worry about the Sapphire, I've never heard of anyone having issues with it. It just looks super sharp and quality. I know you say you have your mind set on a Mudmaster but have you tried a Rangeman on your wrist? Smaller, light, classic understated looks, compass, tough solar, sunrise sunset, Multi Band 6 etc etc. I often think I wouldn't need another watch (except for the office). Just a thought...
Hi stormrider I’ve just discovered your channel and I’m impressed with the content , I don’t usually drop messages but I’ve just subscribed and looking forward to the future g shock and tech you may have to follow. I’ve always liked watches and recently I’ve rediscovered Casio’s in particular Gshocks. I’m getting slightly addicted to them admittedly and it’s helping me train and lose weight by mountain walks, biking and walks. I’m using the “military feel” to push my self. Keep up the good work buddy and thanks
Kev, thanks so much for the message man, it really means a lot. And indeed I totally know what you mean about G-Shocks giving you that little extra push to keep fit and active. It's definitely how it works for me. I have a couple of videos under development that I think you'll find useful. Get after it mate. Cheers!
Indeed they are. Same as the Maharishi GWG also. If you happen to find one at a good price consider buying it, but unfortunately I haven't seen one below 3000 USD in the past 3 months. These rare/ limited G-Shocks are going crazy. Cheers.
Great video man...I've recently caught the bug with G Shock and after getting one of the cheaper models I started looking at the more expensive ones and have been watching your videos and others like it for a few days and finally went for the GGB100 with Orange strap. Orange being my fave colour...love this watch so much but I am already looking at others to buy...definitely can become addictive these things. Thanks for helping me decide though, with your great videos mate.
I really like the orange ggb100. Great choice. Congrats on getting the G-Shock bug, it will take up more of your time then you ever imagined lol. It's a fun wholesome hobby and also delivers some marvels of technology. Check out the GA-2100 /GA2110 as well as Mudman G9300 for other models to get into... Thanks for dropping by and commenting, it is much appreciated.
Great video, just what I was looking for, strangely, or maybe not, these are the 2 watches I was looking at as both have something on them that I like, but this video did help. On a related note, I recently found the 1st watch I bought for myself back in the late 80's, it was a basic digital watch that you could also wear swimming, & it was a casio, then to my supprise after a bit of dicking round with it & a new battery, it came back to life, after all those decades, just thought people might like to know.
The GBG-100 is constantly putting up with diesel fuel and grease everyday I go to work. At the end of the day I wipe it down and we are good to go. I’m 45 years old and never wore a watch until this year and now I feel lost if I don’t have one on my wrist
Good fact, I didn't know that was the reason it was domed but makes sense. I prefer the one flat crystal I must say but the price difference between the watches is there for a number of reasons and crystal sapphire is one of them. Thanks for the comment good Sir!
Yes, solar is a wonderful function too. Once you have had the GG-B100 for a while you may want to consider venturing to a Rangeman or a Mudman which are superb watches with solar, compass and much more also. Cheers!
The comfort and weight of a watch is very important to me. No matter how good a watch is, if it does not feel right I won't use it. I had this issue with an Omega Seamaster 300 on the metal bracelet. A point to note on Sapphire glass, while it's more resistant to scratching it will shatter in a way more aggressive fashion compared to mineral glass if it takes a hard hit.
Yes I had a similar situation with a high end dress watch I own. It's beautiful to look at but simply isn't that comfortable so I choose my GA-2100 over it 99% of the time. Cheers!
@@stormrider1119 I decided a while back dress watches are useless to me. Jeans and T-shirt is how I roll most of the time these days, even at work. I do quite like the idea of a metal g-shock of some sort though :)
They recommend taking your watch off for 10 minutes to measure the temperature because your body heat raises the temperature much higher than what it really is.
Great choice man. GWG is a work of art and will last forever. I haven't worn the GWA yet but it looks like a quality bit of kit. Wonder which one will take up most wrist time... Cheers!
Although I don’t own either of these I found the video quite entertaining! I have the gg-1000 and love it and just bought a rangeman which is just a great watch! I liked and subbed!
Thanks for the positive feedback man, it's much appreciated. I was looking at the GG 1000 last week, need to test that out. Congrats on the Rangeman also, possibly the best all round G-Shock going. Cheers!
Great video my friend, and I did watch the first comparison from you... now don’t let this go to your head, but I’m thinking of getting the B100 Mudmaster from your reviews... you have really broken down lots of my own thoughts and covered the most important ones I wanted to know... now I’ve been looking at plenty of the GWG videos, but have decided to take sides with the more comfortable of them both. Again, a really good solid video, and if I do get it I will sure give you a nudge with a shoutout. A subscriber of mine has been talking about his, and it’s just made me look further, as it has features that I would use especially with the connection. Cheers again and HaPpY New Year too ;)
I would be very interested to hear your thoughts on it. It's a very capable watch at a relatively good price. I know one area that will interest you in the Location Indicator function which is so close to being a genius touch but as of yet just lacks the finesse to make it a game changer. I think you will know what I mean when you get yours. Of course the big question is 'which colour will you go for?!' I saw the limited edition Burton recently, black/which with pink accents and it's a nice exclusive option. Keep me posted on developments in this area... Cheers!
@@stormrider1119 Cheers buddy... I'm aware of how the bearing compass side works, and I feel this needs a good old slap of 69 to really see how this works best... damn, the combo's... well the obvious would be the all stealth black as I'm such a Batman... but am taking to the olive green lovely... am interested in using it as intended so no fussy limitations for me, so am on the all black or the olive green? The orange has a nice twist, but it looks more for the SAR. As I mentioned, if I pull the trigger, I will give you a sweet shoutout... you are over 500 subs, but way way off from what you deserve... cheers :))
@@stormrider1119 Hey buddy... well..... I bought the GG-B100 and I've just posted a video to introduce it with some extra thinking... also I've given you a shoutout in the video :) You have helped with my choice along with others, but your thinking is what I enjoy about you... you are unique and don't ever change, as it's refreshing :)) HaPpY Weekend :))
Ggb100 has 24hs countdown timer vs 60minutes, and the crown doesn't allow you to manipulate the settings in mud or water, like alarms, countdown, altimeter setting, etc. It's a significant differentiation.
Man I post already about my GGB-100 . I still love it. I switch between my Garmin Instinct and the GGB-100 . The days I don’t wear my G-SHOCK I wish I did
On the area I wear my watch you're talking 7.5inch/19cm. Changes with the frequency I'm lifting weight but there of there abouts. Cheers and let me know if you pull the trigger on one!
I would go for the gwg 1000 mudmaster triple sensor, solar, multi band 6 what else you need.... you won’t go wrong with Casio g shock better than the pro trek... you get what you pay for
Yes it is fair to say if you own a GWG-1000 don't really need another watch, won't have to do maintenance on it and it will last forever. A true classic G-Shock. Cheers...
Many thanks for the feedback, it's sincerely appreciated. Indeed it does have the barometric trend. There is a useful video here on it: ua-cam.com/video/cUnOxXNoQY8/v-deo.html Cheers!
Thanks very much for the kind words James. So it's a stepcounter not a calorie counter and from my experience it is accurate. It's especially nice as you can synch it via Bluetooth to your G-Shock Connect App on your phone and can view different days/steps etc... Cheers!
I’m torn, not sure to to get the GG-B100 or the GWG-1000. I like something that I can go swimming with, mountain biking and just playing with the kids... so not overly demanding. I like the comfort of the GG-B and step counter but like the sapphire crystal and solar power of the GWG. My question is, if you could have just one which one would you buy?
Thanks for the query Mike. For that scenario I would likely go for the GG-B100 if I had to choose between the two. It's just a little bit more low-key and lighter on the wrist. However I strongly advise you also check out the G-9300 Mudman and Rangeman as they are also both, smaller, lighter, look superb and have a compass and are indestructible. They would also serve your needs for sure. Try each one on your wrist if possible and see what 'feels right'. Let me know what you go for... Cheers!
@@ShOookYx it very much depends on what activity you do and if you don't mind a bigger watch like the GG-B100. The Rangeman is the all rounder and if I didn't have one I would go for that first personally, but try and wear both in a mall first and see what feels right on your wrist if possible. The GG-B100 is great if you do lots of hiking, camping etc because of location indicator and the compass is very clear as utilizes the second hand. The compass on the Rangeman is also great but much smaller. I hope that helps! Cheers! Oh I think you mean the GWG-1000 not GG-B100. So GWG is quite a bit more expensive but the above is still accurate. GWG-1000 is an even bigger watch, very tough but not as comfortable over time. If you have a smaller wrist it my be too much. The Rangeman is fine on a smaller or medium wrist also.
@@stormrider1119 all what i need is compass very accurate And deep sleep tracker Temp degree Alt. If possible Heart rate measurements Pressure measurement Which one u recommend then even other than those Waiting really ur reply
Not as far as I’m aware. It’s all down to width of wrist. If it’s uncomfortable and not a great fit for your wrist try a G-9300 or Rangeman. Slightly smaller and lighter. Cheers!
Scuffed my GWG-1000 yesterday. Accidently hit my arm agasinst a brick wall..... That rubber hoiusing on the Mudmaster really needs a bit more scratch resistant, it kind upset me....my first scratch on my Casio :( How is your Mudmaster holding up to scratches? specifiaclly the Bezel / outside housing area?
So I just used a exacto knife and was able to gently peel off the scuffed area, took about 0.1mm off the surface of the black hardened rubber or ("Bezel"? ) lol
Yes they aren't completely scratch proof on the bezel that's for sure, for me I like the slight weathered look mine has but its not significant scratching. I'll put up a video showing closer inspection of that area. It is a drag when a new watch gets its first 'ding' but after that it just adds character in my opinion. Shows you use it properly ;)
@@stormrider1119 yes, the scuffed up [plastic has been removed, just a tiny layer. Have you not scratched your watches after all this time of use? i've had this watch for a few weeks now and already managed to scratch that plastic bezel
Mine has the same. Was seeking underneath the car seat. Almost made me sick. I don't wear it every day because I don't want to scratch it. Want to buy a new bezel but not sure where to get a original one.
Does the step counter on ggb100 work independently from your phone? Or is it necessary to be connected to the app on the phone in order for the step counter to display number of steps?
It is independent, works irrespective of if you are connected to the phone or not. The phone app collects the step data nicely for a dashboard though if you want to use it. It's very nicely designed. Cheers...
StormRider That’s good. Imagine if you had to be connected to your phone all the time. When I go on a run, I usually don’t bring the phone with me because it’s not practical and it’s heavy in your pocket. Don’t like to have it in my hand neither. However, if a watch keeps track of the number of steps then that is a whole different story. Thanks for your prompt reply. Cheers!
@@tariksefic5628 Agreed, running without a phone is my preference also. Hence the GG-B100 is great in that respect, plus has the compass which doesn't need the phone either in case you lose your bearings. Cheers...
Hi Stormrider, around here at this moment the gg-b100 1a3 cost between 399 and 450 euro. An offer I got is 250 euro for a one year old, not worn. So a new one ( probably also a year old in the shop) or a never worn one for 250. So buy a new one of not worn one for almost half the price...?
For the price alone the 100 wins for me. I don’t need solar as battery change is fine by me and you get to replace the gasket regular too. It’s more comfortable, looks better and has more features. Also the 100 has real screw in bolts not fake push in ones. Metal buttons not silver plastic ones. The only real thing any rugged watch needs is Sapphire glass.
As much as I love tough solar, I totally agree it isn't a show stopper. Your analysis is pretty much the same as mine although I own both and love them both, the GG-B100 gets more wrist time. I'd say the main reason is comfort factor and lightness of that carbon core. Many thanks for the comment. Cheers!
@@stormrider1119 I agree. I put mine on the green GW9400-3 straps, and it looks even better. The only reason I'd like the Mudmaster is to have the option of looking at hands. I love the legibility of digital, but I also love hands on watches. A GW9400-1 Rangeman and a GGB100-1A3 Mudmaster would be a great pair of watches to switch between.
@@Illsamustache yep that's a fine combo to switch up. Analogue always has a certain class about it although if it's for smart casual check out the GA-2100 or GA2110 also. I absolutely love them. A good balance with a GW-9400.
@@stormrider1119 Thanks, but I don't like the hexagon cases. I think they're ugly. I hate them on a real Royal Oak, and on the Casioak. B ut that GGB100-1A3 looks awesome. I love the color accents, like the red/yellow with a gold button and darker green strap. It just looks so cool.
Who could know (back then) that the buttons all get stuck! by not using all of the buttons on a regular basis I have discovered that the buttons get stuck inside the body of watch, and thus are useless at best. I tried an ultra sonic bath to wash out all the gunk from the body and buttons (cant be seen as it is under the gasket/shroud of each button) that works but it is not a permanent solution. I can only hope the newer versions have been reworked
pity that the graph is very small for the barometer on the gwg-1000 and pity that the altitude is calculated with atmospheric pressure. otherwise it's an amazing watch! do you wear more than one watch at the same time?which of the 2 is more comfortable GG or GwG
Yes the barometer takes some practice to read but is very useful. I don't normally wear more than one watch at a time no, this was just a fun experiment :) I must say the GG-B100 is more comfortable especially when running, mainly due to the fact it is lighter and the smooth back of the carbon core watches makes is super comfortable. Cheers...
Also depends on your wrist size. I have the gwg1000 and the gwg 100. I prefer the fitment of the gwg1000 because I have big wrists and fits like a glove. The gwg 100 is lighter what is a plus. But after you have the gwg 1000 on you longer than 30 minutes you don't notice it anymore. The weight of the 1000 can make it slide to your hands more easily. What i don't like is the altimeter. Always need to set it to my current height. After searching on Google for the height for the watch. I already know the height anyway haha. Then there is the crown. I was paranoid with overtighten it. Or to loose to get dirt in. I now know its impossible to get any dirt in because the shaft also has 2 o rings. But its not something that's designed to tighten and loose it every day. Which totally make sense. But if you want to use the features you need the crown. Yes it looks cool. But doesn't fit the idea of a tough watch. For a watch with a crown its tough. But my gwg 100 is/feels tougher because it has less parts that are sensitive for failure.
@@cnnlt200 yes it would be great if the altimeter needed less calibration. And yes the crown is designed to be incredibly robust, I haven't heard of one failing. I'm sure as these watches evolve that element will become even more intuitive. Glad to hear from another big GWG-1000 fan. Thanks for your comments!
@@stormrider1119 there are some people that destroyed the threads. I always turn it to the left with some slight pressure till I feel the start of the threads. And then to the right But I love the watch haha. 22 years back we always had to babysit a dog. It was from a friend of the family. He was a commando in the army. He told me about his training in ice water and other cool stuff. I never forgot his g watch. It was so bulky and big. I just was 11 years old. Since that time I always wanted one. So my wife gave me the gwg 100 for father's day last year and it began. Never cared about rolex or Breitling style watches
@@cnnlt200 it's funny how those early experiences impact your interests like that. I had a similar influence by reading the Andy McNab stories where he has a G-Shock, stuck with me since... Cheers brother!
There is no concrete answer but you will get a number of years out of it for sure if you don't use those functions. The thing is you will want to use those functions and you still should get decent battery life when doing so. Plus the ggb100 has a low battery indicator so you get advance notification and won't get caught out. Of course the GWG-1000 is tough solar so you don't have to worry about that element. I've had mine for 6 years, loads of use of the sensors and never any issue. Cheers!
Thanks for the comment, yes a lot of people have that position. Very different watches in terms of function but if I had to chose between the two it would be GWG-1000. In my Top 3 Gshocks video I explain exactly why. Cheers!
It's a beautiful beast eh... There is a matching Rangeman that I need to get hold of to complete the collection but as you will see they are super rare and you have to pay way over typical GWG/Rangeman RRP to get them... Cheers man
@@stormrider1119 hahah yes I love this watch!! It was either the maharishi or the DC model and I chose the maharishi. In the future I am definitely picking up the DC model
i dont wanna be sound like a complainer, i find this channel sympathic and the comments are nice as well. i just think, the watches are being seen through the "fanboy"-glasses. this is important to mention to people, that havent worn nor used such big and heavy g-shocks or wristwatches at all. meaning even the smallest g-shock is pretty big and unnecessarily heavy for daily use, if no super toughness is needed, so to say. its why i usually wear a modded dw-5600e. furthermore i think its important to understand, that neither the compass, nor the altimeter and barometer are reliable for serious use. im a big g-fan and own-ed over 80 (?) g´s of all decades, many pro treks as well. said that, the gwg-1000 is enourmesly big and heavy, the gg-b100 is also quite "pokey" to the wrist and not a featherweight at all. the rangeman gw-9400 pokes even more and, combined with the lug problem, gives really no good feeling when bending the wrist. it feels like the lugs would break any second. i sold the gwg-1000 two times, cause it was simply too big and heavy for daily use, the crown is terrible to use. it pokes much the wrist. for sports its just too heavy. but guess, i think to buy it again, cause i like the design so much! im a bit stupid i guess. i sold the gw-9400.... three times? first because of the poking, later cause of the lug- and compass problem. also the viewing angle isnt good enough. still, a very iconic watch. so right now im testing the gg-b100. im underwhelmed by the lume, the small and same-shaped indices make it very hard to read the time in the dark. meaning the "12" isnt different than the "11" or "1". so... in the end some will use the very, very bright illuminator. its a better pocketlamp and i think its designed as some emergency light? night adapted eyesight: bye. i think this might be one of the reasons i will sell it. the wristband attachments are terrible designed, too.= need to remove 4 screws, 4 tiny rods and at best the 4 bezel scews to remove the wristbands. dirt and whatever will be collected under the "caseback spacers" a lot. u will need to clean this sooner than later. i even got needles from trees under there. however, its maybe the best allround-analog g-shock there is. if the ga-800 had lumed indices and a lumed seconds hand, negative display, i would say its that one, cause 20gramms lighter and smaller. so what to mention highly about the gg-b100 is: u can erase and rearrange the modes! want the stopwatch in first position: do it! erasing the world time? do it! this is so simple and great. also displaying different modes in the time display is available. the negative display is great for a lcd. its also bigger than on most other g´s or pro treks. the gwg-1000 to me is mainly a huge "fashion"- watch. great looks, terrible to wear, very slow in mode change and most terrible/unuseable to adjust cause the crown. i would only recommend it, if some loves the looks. im wishing a good day and to all of us watch fans: lets hope we will find a "perfect" watch for us :) or do we enjoy the journey too much?
I really appreciate the comment, you obviously took a long time to reflect on it and write it and that's great because it's from the heart of someone who really has the experience. I think what's important is everyone looks for different things in watches and has different pet peeves etc. The main things I detest in a watch is regular recharging (smart watches), likelihood of breaking, likelihood of loosing time, the requirement of maintenance and being sent to the dealer every few years for a few weeks, watches I cant swim or have an adventure with without fear of damaging them. I have owned loads of watches that fall into one of those categories. For example I have a very high end dress watch which every two years I need to send to the dealer for a service otherwise it only lasts two days without a wind. It's beautiful but that's not the watch for me. I definitely don't think G's are perfect, but can't think of any watch that is. They just tick more of the boxes than others based on my lifestyle. I also know barometer and alti may not be realistically used by many people but I genuinely use the compass regularly and find it highly accurate and useful. Even just if if walking in a new city or location and can't be bothered to use Google maps just to get my bearing - it's one of my favorite applications. And in terms of comfort, lume, lugs etc I can't say I've come across watches with significantly better of any but then again Im sure there are some out there. So in summary I really appreciate your honest and transparent feedback, I hope you still continue to contribute and let the channel know as you find cool new Gs or Indeed alternatives! Cheers man!
@@stormrider1119 thanks as well for ur gentle reply. good info and reminder about the expensive watches that need service. and yes, i also dislike wearing watches i cant rely on. its why i always come back to G´s. i tried the f91-w for a short while. the pushers get pushed so often by accident, its annoying. i want the watch to adapt to me, not vice versa. have a good time. best greetings.
Haha. Fair comment, although I had just been messing about with the time for a different video which is the real reason. But yes I love Multi Band 6 for that reason... Cheers for the comment!
I am confused between these 2. I NEED A TRIPLE SENSOR WATCH WITH STEP COUNT WHICH WILL BE CONNECTED TO PHONE AND SUPPORT SOLAR CHARGE :P Just wanted to ask one thing. I have noticed the mudmaster released normally in March and April. Anyone having clue that any new model is going to release this year anytime soon ? I need a watch desperately looking for it but if new model will be release in march or April 2021 I will wait for it. Please confirm if anyone is aware of release date of new model.
So the GWG-1000 has solar but no step count, and the GG-B100 has step count but no tough solar. You may want to consider the GBD H1000 that has tough solar and GPS and much more. I haven't tried one yet so can't vouch for it personally but it looks superb on paper. As it is G-Shock I would assume it will hold up great. I tested the compass and thermometer of my 5 year old GWG vs the GG-B100 and the readings were identical. I never worry about reliability of these watches. I just hope the tech such as the Location Indicator get even more powerful. Cheers!
Haha, maybe I re-do the run and sawp the watches... I know what you mean, although the way the carbon core sits on either wrist is extra comfortable. Cheers...
@@stormrider1119 why dont they make the quad sensor with the depth meter anymore like that one gulf master? must have been redundant? is it possible to use these watches as depth meters if you knew the conversion rate? up to 20 bars or whatever of course. i think the only reason your not suppose to with this is cuz your not suppose to press the buttons underwater.
@@typerightseesight I must admit I'm not that knowledgeable about the Gulfmaster having never owned one. I think people mostly rely on proper dive computers for that diving though.
Excellent video! I have the 1000 because of the solar charging! If they took best parts of each watch and melded them it be great.. But a bit pricey...⏱⏱
Yeah man for many that's the holy grail... A mix of the GWG and GG and as you say it's about price and technical viability. Let's hope one day it comes to fruition!

May I ask what is the differences between both of them?

Cheers...
Thank you Sir for doing this real time test in the heat for us 😊
The G-shock community truly appreciates 👏 👍😊
You are welcome Sir
Spot on review. Luckily i own both and i agree with you that ggb100 is more comfortable on the wrist. But that doesn’t mean I don’t love my gwg1000.
Both fantastic in different ways…
I have the GG-B100, which is already big enough for me, I have a skinny wrist and the GWG would look absurd on me. Also, I much prefer the look of GGB and the carbon bezel. Although the main weakness is the lack of tough solar, which I am more than happy to pay an extra $100 for.
Yes, although Tough Solar is a great function it's not a show stopper at all. Those batteries last for years anyway!
Can’t get solar on the mudmaster for a hundred ginos, more like 400 more
My philosophy on redundancy and backup: “Two is One and One is None!” , so dont worry you don’t look stupid with two watches....
Haha love it. I'll keep that philosophy too from now on! Cheers man

Nice video, thanks! I'm considering buying the GGB, it's a really nice package for the price, and better in almost every way than the GWG, in my view.
I really think you won't be disappointed with the GG-B100. Really is a class piece of kit. Such a comfortable watch on the wrist also... Let me know if you go for it and what colour you go for. Hi stormrider, just wanted to give you an update on how the training is going. The GWG1000 1A3ER (army green strap) arrived and I’m blown away with it. Wow what a watch! It’s literally got hard as hell written all over it, I love it 💙
I have mainly been hitting the coast lines and the mountain where I live, it’s been 5 mile walks tough terrain and I feel great already, 0.5 of a stone off and eating healthy.
Hmmmmm never knew a watch could inspire so much. I have the GG-B100 and the GWG being delivered in a day or 2.
Since I have several sapphire, I understand and appreciate the difference.
Yes no question is adds an element of quality that is very distinctive. It adds cost but also adds claws and refinement. Thanks for the comment.
Indeed. You have to have owned and worn some to understand the difference. And I’ve owned many. To me, it’s striking when really examining a watch.
That compass comparison was indeed very helpful, thank you so much.
Thank you very much for the comment, glad the video helped.
How about GWG-100? It has solar and waveceptor (but no sapphire). The price is nearly the same as GGB100

Awesome man, that is what is called G-Shock love :) they become like a loyal friend
the mineral glass on the gg-b100 isn't as strong as crystal sapphire, so it is slightly 'domed' to give it strength.
Good fact, I didn't know that was the reason it was domed but makes sense. I prefer the one flat crystal I must say but the price difference between the watches is there for a number of reasons and crystal sapphire is one of them. Thanks for the comment good Sir!
Nice review. Like to hear opinion instead of feature walkthrough. Just bought the gg100. And looking forward to receive it.

@@stormrider1119 Really hope so. Would have liked Tough Solar though.
Cheers!

I would be very interested to hear your thoughts on it. It's a very capable watch at a relatively good price. I know one area that will interest you in the Location Indicator function which is so close to being a genius touch but as of yet just lacks the finesse to make it a game changer. I think you will know what I mean when you get yours. Of course the big question is 'which colour will you go for?!' I’m torn, not sure to to get the GG-B100 or the GWG-1000. I like something that I can go swimming with, mountain biking and just playing with the kids... so not overly demanding. However I strongly advise you also check out the G-9300 Mudman and Rangeman as they are also both, smaller, lighter, look superb and have a compass and are indestructible. How is your Mudmaster holding up to scratches? specifiaclly the Bezel / outside housing area?
So I just used a exacto knife and was able to gently peel off the scuffed area, took about 0.1mm off the surface of the black hardened rubber or ("Bezel"? ) lol
Yes they aren't completely scratch proof on the bezel that's for sure, for me I like the slight weathered look mine has but its not significant scratching. I'll put up a video showing closer inspection of that area. It is a drag when a new watch gets its first 'ding' but after that it just adds character in my opinion. Shows you use it properly ;)
Interesting, does is look OK now?
@@stormrider1119 yes, the scuffed up [plastic has been removed, just a tiny layer.

Cheers!
No mate, the sapphire is no good for a beater. That will shatter. Go for the mineral it will scratch but not break into pieces.
Better features: GWG
Better overall style and size: GG

The Rangeman is a classic Kevin. You really don't need anything else in a watch. Packed with functions, small, comfortable a looks darn cool.
@@stormrider1119 I agree. I put mine on the green GW9400-3 straps, and it looks even better. The only reason I'd like the Mudmaster is to have the option of looking at hands. I can only hope the newer versions have been reworked
for me the glass on the 100 looks clearer and has less glare, at least on this video
I think it's just a trick of the light. The crystal sapphire of the GWG-1000 is definitely supreme. Ggb100 is still perfectly fine. Cheers!

pity that the graph is very small for the barometer on the gwg-1000 and pity that the altitude is calculated with atmospheric pressure. otherwise it's an amazing watch! do you wear more than one watch at the same time?which of the 2 is more comfortable GG or GwG
And then to the right
But I love the watch haha.
What is battery Life if not using other 3 sensors like temperature, compass and altitude just using the step counter . Kindly Reply
India ggb100 costs 340$ and gwg 1000 costs 550$
There is no concrete answer but you will get a number of years out of it for sure if you don't use those functions. The thing is you will want to use those functions and you still should get decent battery life when doing so. Plus the ggb100 has a low battery indicator so you get advance notification and won't get caught out. Of course the GWG-1000 is tough solar so you don't have to worry about that element. I've had mine for 6 years, loads of use of the sensors and never any issue. Cheers!
@@stormrider1119 ok thanks a lot for your reply 🙏🙏🙏🙏 , Amazing content 👍👍
Thanks man. Much appreciated.
GWG > GG
Thanks for the comment, yes a lot of people have that position. Very different watches in terms of function but if I had to chose between the two it would be GWG-1000. In my Top 3 Gshocks video I explain exactly why. Cheers!
I really want the GWG DC model
It's a beautiful beast eh... There is a matching Rangeman that I need to get hold of to complete the collection but as you will see they are super rare and you have to pay way over typical GWG/Rangeman RRP to get them... Cheers man
I see you have the Maharishi GWG in your profile. That's a superb watch too... Would love to own that one.
@@stormrider1119 hahah yes I love this watch!! It was either the maharishi or the DC model and I chose the maharishi.
In the future I am definitely picking up the DC model
Hi guys, does anyone have an idea if the glass diameter of this both models is the same?
I'm wondering why there's 20 min difference between the watches? 🤔
I’m always messing about with time settings for these videos. :)
i dont wanna be sound like a complainer, i find this channel sympathic and the comments are nice as well.
i just think, the watches are being seen through the "fanboy"-glasses. this is important to mention to people, that havent worn nor used such big and heavy g-shocks or wristwatches at all. meaning even the smallest g-shock is pretty big and unnecessarily heavy for daily use, if no super toughness is needed, so to say. its why i usually wear a modded dw-5600e.
furthermore i think its important to understand, that neither the compass, nor the altimeter and barometer are reliable for serious use.
im a big g-fan and own-ed over 80 (?) g´s of all decades, many pro treks as well. said that, the gwg-1000 is enourmesly big and heavy, the gg-b100 is also quite "pokey" to the wrist and not a featherweight at all. the rangeman gw-9400 pokes even more and, combined with the lug problem, gives really no good feeling when bending the wrist. it feels like the lugs would break any second.
i sold the gwg-1000 two times, cause it was simply too big and heavy for daily use, the crown is terrible to use. it pokes much the wrist. for sports its just too heavy. but guess, i think to buy it again, cause i like the design so much! im a bit stupid i guess.
i sold the gw-9400.... three times? first because of the poking, later cause of the lug- and compass problem. also the viewing angle isnt good enough. still, a very iconic watch.
so right now im testing the gg-b100. im underwhelmed by the lume, the small and same-shaped indices make it very hard to read the time in the dark. meaning the "12" isnt different than the "11" or "1". so... in the end some will use the very, very bright illuminator. its a better pocketlamp and i think its designed as some emergency light? night adapted eyesight: bye. i think this might be one of the reasons i will sell it.
the wristband attachments are terrible designed, too.= need to remove 4 screws, 4 tiny rods and at best the 4 bezel scews to remove the wristbands. dirt and whatever will be collected under the "caseback spacers" a lot. u will need to clean this sooner than later. i even got needles from trees under there.
however, its maybe the best allround-analog g-shock there is. if the ga-800 had lumed indices and a lumed seconds hand, negative display, i would say its that one, cause 20gramms lighter and smaller.
so what to mention highly about the gg-b100 is: u can erase and rearrange the modes! want the stopwatch in first position: do it! erasing the world time? do it! this is so simple and great.
also displaying different modes in the time display is available.
the negative display is great for a lcd. its also bigger than on most other g´s or pro treks.
the gwg-1000 to me is mainly a huge "fashion"- watch. great looks, terrible to wear, very slow in mode change and most terrible/unuseable to adjust cause the crown. i would only recommend it, if some loves the looks.
im wishing a good day and to all of us watch fans: lets hope we will find a "perfect" watch for us :) or do we enjoy the journey too much?
Where tha heck do you get a mud master for 200?
You can find good deals on the GG-B100 if you get lucky and buy from a proper CASIO dealer. Good luck!
@@stormrider1119 jus picked up my first gshock!! 560$ Canadian ggb100 1b blacked out version! So stoked
That’s what I want to know???
and one is telling the correct time and one isnt , Guess wich one is wrong considering one has multiband
Haha. Fair comment, although I had just been messing about with the time for a different video which is the real reason. But yes I love Multi Band 6 for that reason... Cheers for the comment!
I am confused between these 2. I NEED A TRIPLE SENSOR WATCH WITH STEP COUNT WHICH WILL BE CONNECTED TO PHONE AND SUPPORT SOLAR CHARGE :P
Just wanted to ask one thing.
In terms of release dates of models check out GShockHighFasion youtube channel as he often shows what's coming up soon. Casio don't ofter give much of a look ahead though so you never really know what's coming next. Cheers!
Hey is that the pearl ?

Wow that hair!!
Why thank you, I grew it myself :)
Everybody is looking for gold nowdays and good lord why do you have to buy.
ngl I think wearing 2 watches looks sick as fuck
Haha. It could be a new trend...
Why the time difference? Time warp caused by speed Flash?
Temp gauge is useless it will measure your body temperature not the environment
How do you think the tech in the newer GG-B100 will hold up over time?
As it is G-Shock I would assume it will hold up great. I tested the compass and thermometer of my 5 year old GWG vs the GG-B100 and the readings were identical. I never worry about reliability of these watches. I just hope the tech such as the Location Indicator get even more powerful. Cheers!
Nice..........
Cheers
NO watch on the right wrist is comfortable!
Haha, maybe I re-do the run and sawp the watches... I know what you mean, although the way the carbon core sits on either wrist is extra comfortable. Cheers...
So the only difference is Solar Power and Pedo-meter?
You also have a location indicator on the GG-B100 plus the GWG-1000 has crystal sapphire. GG-B100 has a number of extra features... Cheers!
Huge negative to casio for huge cases!

if they woulda made the gbr200 solar atomic i woulda probably dropped a grand on it. lol. oh well.
Haha. I know what you mean. Maybe one day man. Cheers!
