This was a really helpful video! I'm actually trying to go more minimal with my wardrobe and create a capsule wardrobe situation, but this definitely gave me some motivation to actually get to it haha
@Toni Arend Read my reply to delinda Williams I gave some tips on how to get started when we only have a small amount of time most of us cannot come up with the whole afternoon to get things done
I love the hooks that you have from Amazon that make the shirts go down that's how I organize my closet but I use the tops off of a soda can and it works exactly the same that actually makes it flattered and what yours looks like we also save the tops from all of the easy open cans from vegetables or tuna I keep them on a paperclip and then it's easy to transfer from the kitchen to the laundry this is how I organize all of my clothes the same way you separated your khaki colored pants and your black pants I love this way much better I used to use that multi hanger but the disadvantage to that is your limited to only four items so if you have five khaki pair of pants for example then it kind of throws off your system with the soda tops then you can do 6 or 7 even in one row still taking up the space of just one hangar basically I've been a professional organizer for many years but I found this way it's so much better because then I can separate my short sleeve shirts from my long-sleeve shirts from my dressy shirts. Each category has its own row. one of the ways I've separated clothes being able to keep the dressy clothes from the everyday clothes is PLAY, PRETTY, PRINCESS it originated when I was doing children's clothes but it's so simple for me to remember that I don't mind being a princess as well and so I've done mine that the same way. PLAY, of course, is everyday wear, PRETTY would be nice work or date night clothes and PRINCESS would be like church clothes or formal Wear I love your ideas especially the boots hung with the S hooks ...S Hooks & shower hooks are my absolute favorite!!! did you know that the very easiest way to get an S hook when you really need one is just unfold a large paper clip? COOL & very inexpensive! I have a footboard, when placed on it's end looks like a ladder, that's where I store all of my purses, briefcases duffle bags, backpacks; as well as my scarves I think it looks really elegant doesn't take up a lot of space it can be even hung on that wall at the end of the closet and the best thing is I can see everything I'm just like you I have to see everything I have to make my choices..lol I hang it all on the ladder w just my little homemade paperclip S hooks or shower curtain rings! THANK YOU FOR YOUR GREAT IDEAS !! Like I say space is a precious commodity.
@ Lady Alice I have been many places where they didn't have or enough space so I've showed people how to create their own closet all you need is some boxes try to find some sturdy ones, lay them on their sides now you have 2 shelves!! stack as many as you need to to create space for your folded clothes. I have taken a ribbon or rope and tied it through an old broom handle or any other rod and created hanging space. In my TINY RV, I don't have a closet either, so I hang my clothes on my shower rod and on every window! You'd be surprised what you can do if you just get creative, think outside the box! I have six kids and many times had to live in very small spaces and have done this and it works on a minimal budget!! Good luck!
I love to organize things and to keep them that way. I love separating things in the draws so I'm looking into the dividers. I'm also interested in the step, so I don't have to wait for help to reach things or avoid using higher storage. I did declutter my clothes, but now needing to declutter papers and I hate decluttering papers. I have to find time to read through them. I'm so pleased to see this video.❤ I love the top you are wearing Angela, I have the style in blue jeans fabric. Thanks for sharing.
@DeLinda Williams I feel you on the paper sorting a lot of people hate filing I have found a real simple system that works for me and my clients and think this one is so good and took me so long to come up with, I should charge for it (LOL), but I'll share... I have come to love this system!!! I do: YESTERDAY (meaning it's already complete and ready to file, which I file alphabetically so ..AT&T, Baseball schedules or if you wanted to put all Bills together you could do that under B, Cars..... Home Repairs, Insurance, Mortgage, Receipts or you can file by store name, Taxes, etc **most important thing is to create names that you will remember easily. Don't ever feel you have to adapt to like pre printed labels-do what works for you!! TODAY needs urgent attention, top priority things TOMORROW things that can be put off but not for very long NEXT WEEK this can be things that I don't really have a deadline, but need to get done pretty quickly NEXT MONTH these are things like shopping for better insurance or things that can be put off because you need time to get to it; things to research or review, like a project or something So anyway my mother has dementia so I've had to try to create systems that are very simple to follow so I have her sort her mail in 3 stacks: --BILLS TO PAY (sorted by date due) --THINGS TO DO (sorted by urgency using my today, tomorrow, next week, next month system -- THINGS FOR ME TO LOOK OVER (FORWARD)like her medical statements, excetera so she sorts everything into these 3 stacks then she's able to sort her to do stack in YESTERDAY, TODAY, TOMORROW etc don't take time to read everything while you are sorting, glance at it and put it in a stack. I put my things that I need to review or read-through in my or TOMORROW or NEXT WEEK depending on the urgency. Then I don't have to feel like I have to read everything while I'm trying to organize. Another thing that really helps me & my clients is to take BABY STEPS; for example, just get your 3 or 4 stacks started… then you can you take 1 stack & sort it according to urgency as you're watching a show on TV, don't feel you have to get everything done at your 1st attempt!! YESTERDAY papers can all stay in 1 folder or stack until you have time to alphabetize & file. This mindset helps to get started, even if you only have 15 minutes, because we hardly ever have a whole afternoon to tackle any project. Just like a rose, whose petals fall off in layers, do a little bit at a time, then tomorrow you can do another layer.... as in all organizing: I say ...Give yourself a KISS- KEEP IT SIMPLE(4)SANITY I hope these tips help! It sure helps me to come up with a simple system, we have so many other things to focus on! let me know if you have any questions... I hope I was clear😂 HAPPY ORGANIZING!!!
@@staciewebb4829 thank you so much for your time it’s simply something that is taken for granted. Your are so right, 15 min would hel get me started and once I have all of those slots labeled (I bought some paper holders) it will go pretty fast. Love your words of wisdom thanks for all of your help and advice. Hope you have a great day.
Really needed this! We have his and hers closets that are just small reach-in style closets. I’ve been trying to figure out a way to reconfigure and save space and this will definitely help!
Look at my comment above I shared a way to do the vertical rows of clothing without having to buy any special hangers or hooks. I have all my closest way and it saved probably 8 or 10 in of space!
This was great! Definitely a project I've been wanting to help make look neater!! Im not a minimilist either (hard with lot of kids) but we don't need massive amounts of "stuff""- stresses me out. Thank you so 💓 much.
Totally love the idea of hanging jeans up in the closet! Currently have mine in the dresser but they barely fit and I can never remember what I have! Will definitely have to look into those hangers! Thanks so much for the tips and tricks!! 🩷
Tbh I’ve never understood why people don’t hang out their jeans more! I am definitely someone who loves to hang up as much as possible because I’m visual and lazy, and would rather just hang my items Vs folding and putting away lol
@Charissa Schneider you should be able to do that with any of the hangars it might not slide on but you can just hang your pants leg over and hook it on the hook same way she did
Very very great video..first time I've watched you..this video is jam packed with great organizational hacks, etc. Thank you! And your such a pretty girl!
So funny how when everything was unorganized I knew where everything was. But I will try the shirt, pants, and socks only method. Where you only put those items in one small bin. 😊
So good! And how cute are you? Love the light colors, feels like spring is coming! I have to see things too, if it goes in a non-see-through box it's in Neverland lol!
Just seeing that much stuff gives me anxiety 😅 cannot imagine spending all that time and money on it, and then having to go through it all the time and throw out half of it every year 🤦🏻♀️ I do realise this sounds mean but it's also partly fascination - you have so much to do and you do a lot, much more than a lot of people, me included. And you still have time, money, energy and will for that! 🤯
Not saying this at all to be rude, but do people really actively wear like 10 pairs of jeans? Even in my most maximalist days, finding jeans I loved was so hard, I ever really had 5 of them
I'm actually the same - I only have two that I love enough to wear regularly, but it definitely helps with closet/drawer space and cuts down on laundry haha
Yes, jeans are so fashion feelin’ good. Why would you criticize her over jeans? She’s the first one that actually had a brilliant idea of. Had a hang jeans not to mention she’s not copying everybody else’s ideas. She’s coming up with her own . Bless her!!❤
Here's a hint. Check in with your personality type before you declutter and organise your home. You may find, like I did, that you actually love the randomness and chaos of life and having a rigidly (though beautiful and admirable) organised home, you feel the change is less 'joyful' than you expected. The natural order to life is chaos, and learning to live with the clutter and 'craziness' may bring more satisfaction (and less anxiety and depression) to one's soul. (I think men and children understand this better than women) I look at my organised (colour coded!) drawers and closets and feel sorry for my clothes. All my cupboards in my kitchen look as if a robot is living in my house - all in order, all the same beautifully labelled containers, all the shiny empty surfaces. I realised I am not Marie Kondo (bless her!) and my home needs to suit me. If you love the way you are, my suggestion is: don't touch a thing, go for a long walk in nature instead.
Get rid of some clothes is helpful to that way you're not buying a whole lot of bins that looks and sound great today and then be a hassle later. Ask yourself do you like hang up your items or folding them. You can write down you favorite pieces on a wipe a board from dollar tree so you know where your favorite clothes are.
Yep I have ADHD and all of my clothes have to be hanging up, which makes organizing hard because it uses up all the space. I wish I could just fold everything up in drawers but then I’d never wear what’s hidden in drawers :(
🤷 -When storing purses... NEVER hang them on s hooks. -If you cut your pants off where they're ripped, you'll never even know they were torn. -Drawer dividers for clothes are a gimmick. -Tucking pants in after folding is OCD without a doubt..
It's too bad that her videos only are about selling stuff for the last months. And that applies for "Gathered Nest" too. In the past they had been my favourite channels.

You should not hang sweaters. They will lose their shape. You need to fold them and put them on shelves
