I would have taken the jeans and arranged them by color, this bin has my black jeans. This has my ripped jeans. I don’t have the amount of stuff this person has but I color organize my shirts. It REALLY helps when I’m short on time in the AM.
I don't often see closets with windows. The first time I saw one my two thoughts were: wow so much light to find things and wow won't the sun fade the clothes from daily exposure.
This is the first house we’ve owned without windows in the closets, I love it. Literally all my life I’ve lived in homes with windows in the closet. We always put semi-sheer curtains over them along with window tint. Allows light in but no one can see in and not only is the sun not ruining anything, it stayed cool there. I’m 53. It took me years to figure out the window in the closet was to balance the exterior. I still say ‘rubbish idea’! I’d rather have more lights. I married a custom home builder too! 😂😂😂 he’s with me on windows in the closet
Would love natural light in my closet! Bad enough no window in the bathroom. I loved the places I lived that had a screened bathroom window! Most practical place for light and fresh air. (Why homes don’t have windows in practical locations..,? Clearly designed by a clueless man operating on the cheap. Lol)

We’re having a massive $5 yard sale in a few weeks filled with all the items we won’t use. My brother, aunt and mum died within 18 months of each other and I inherited everything! Going through those boxes and organising was tough but I had your voice in the back of my head along with some great music to get me through it! I kept all the Waterford, Wedgwood, Hummels, etc. Those went in boxes for my cousins and self ❤

I use the VyGrow under bed storage containers on wheels (from Amazon) to store out of season shoes. I put each pair of shoes in a plastic baggy (the ones that aren't ziploc) to keep them from getting dusty. The rest of my shoes fit well in my closet!
I constantly rearranged my bedroom as a kid....I loved doing that. I also made lists from the Sears catalog of all of the thing I wanted to redo the style of my room!
That jewelry organizer is really cute, and a doable DIY❣ I've always loved clear shoe boxes- both of my grandmothers have had them for 40+ years, and one actually has hers labeled w/ tiny pics on the outside of each. I can totally see how they'd be beneficial in terms of utilizing more space on the shelf, able to stack the boots atop them; but I love the look of the boots in the way they are now. 💯 Simpler, clearer, sleeker, more streamlined look. You always do a great job, Andrea; and are so understanding, compassionate and relatable. I look forward to someone with tiny/very limited "real estate"/space hiring you, so I could utilize some of those tips. 🤓 {i.e.: no bathroom cabinets or storage space; small & narrow closets with bifold doors; multi-use rooms like office/den/exercise in one 12'x12'/144sqft room; spaces divided by open spaces/narrow hallways w/ only one wall; etc.} Have a fab remainder of your week!
That closet was huge compared to the one that my husband & I share. Do you have any videos on tiny closets? Do you advise if I don't share certain shoes often to keep that in there boxes? We put a picture of the shoes on the outside of the boxes. I do have a tip for you that we used at a relatives house to organize her costume necklaces. We picked up 4 wooden tie racks from Amazon and screwed 2 wooden tie racks of the inside of each of them closet doors to hold all of her necklaces. She loves it & it makes it easier for her to find her necklaces. I enjoyed this video. I wish that our closet was this big. Our closet is the size of a shoe box for 2 of us.
I love the look of the booties on the shelf but I opted for the zippered bags from IKEA that are clear with an orange zipper. The out of season ones live in a bin but don't get dusty or smelly from each other due to the bags. The bags also keep them from multiplying! The bin can only hold so many... All that said, I do like that over the door job for the daily use shoes. I actually do have a couple of blank doors I could use and would prefer that to the 3 level shelving near the front door. Thanks for steering me to better organization tools!
Wonderful transformation! It works! I get thT abiut utilizing the vertical space. I would love to see you do a regular room sized closet. Mine has the sliding doors. I need to downsize and find new homes for a lot of clothes. Whew! But I need to use every bit of space possible and new folding & hanging techniques would help. Should I switch out winter to summer clothing? Whats the best way to store clothes by season so they dont get smelly , etc. Ive noticed that with my linens in those storage bags. Not a big fan. This video came at the right time for me although I’m not lucky enough to have a walk-in closet, we’re redoing my 12 year old daughter’s room and it’s been a lot of fun. I, too, am using and looking for more ways to utilize the wall space. I bought her in inexpensive desk that’s “L” shaped so she can have all her makeup and hair products (she has a huge interest in makeup and hair but on the level of like movie makeup because she doesn’t go out of the house all done up fancy). The other side of the desk is for her laptop, Chromebook and homework. It’s the perfect desk for her needs. I’ve had to be clever in the placement of things like shelves and lights. It’s been so fun because I was one of those life’s who’d get the urge to have my room look different and I’d be moving beds and decor into the early morning hours. Lol, my mom and I are both short, but that’s never stopped her. She wedges herself behind something with her back against the wall and slowly pushes and moves things using her legs. She’s 77 now so thankfully she doesn’t do that anymore but if she wanted something done and she didn’t have the help, she’d find a way. So it’s a trait I’ve picked up too. I’m not as tough as she is though; I’ll probably have to stop now that I’m in my early 40s lol. Love your videos. You bring such excitement and enthusiasm to tasks we all need to do and you make it entertaining! You’ve got lots of gifts, girlie, and I’m thankful you share so much with us!! ❤

I wish you could do my closet. It's a small renter-type closet with a slope ceiling, because it's below a stairway. It has one shelf and the lighting is parallel to the shelf eating up shelf space. Unfortunately, I live in Chicago, IL. Great job on the closet. I still would've used the bins in closet. I have bad luck with things loving to fall on me from up high. It's one of the reasons I reorganized my pantry with mostly Dollar Tree bins. Only problem I have is the bin curve inward eating valuable space.
I totally get the curved bin problem. I find up-cycled cardboard boxes (I remove the flaps and cut it down to size) are much more space-saving. Don’t like the look? Spray paint or contact paper will transform them. Otherwise, straight sided acrylic bins do well. But not cheap.)
I have some of my dresses in a bin from Target. Not there yet to fold my jeans and put them in a bin... They're still hanging but I considered putting them in the drawer. I'm still working on the floor in the closet but I did remove the shoe rack. Its in my 'storage' room but I'll probably put it in the garage.

I just love you and I so wish you lived close by I'm in Alabama I'm also 64 been married 35 years with 2 grown children, 4 grands & 3 great grands. I used to be able to keep things organized but I have baby clothes that I just cannot part with. My master closet is pitiful looking and i share with my husband. I'm going to use this video to help me get it organized. But I have a question for you could you recommend something that I could use for my children and grandchildren's clothes that mean so much to me that I can not part with. Take a picture of each item. Put them in a photo album and then donate to someone else who can really used them. Or make a photo album on your computer so you can still enjoy "having" them..
The video was great and had some great ideas. But don't the shoes get dirty being placed in the bins that way? (Rubbing on eachother as they are taken in and out) I'm especially thinking about the white shoes.

She’s 77 now so thankfully she doesn’t do that anymore but if she wanted something done and she didn’t have the help, she’d find a way. So it’s a trait I’ve picked up too. I’m not as tough as she is though; I’ll probably have to stop now that I’m in my early 40s lol. Love your videos. I wish you could do my closet. It's a small renter-type closet with a slope ceiling, because it's below a stairway. It has one shelf and the lighting is parallel to the shelf eating up shelf space. Unfortunately, I live in Chicago, IL. Great job on the closet. I still would've used the bins in closet. I have bad luck with things loving to fall on me from up high. It's one of the reasons I reorganized my pantry with mostly Dollar Tree bins. Only problem I have is the bin curve inward eating valuable space.

I totally get the curved bin problem. I find up-cycled cardboard boxes (I remove the flaps and cut it down to size) are much more space-saving. Don’t like the look? Spray paint or contact paper will transform them. Otherwise, straight sided acrylic bins do well. But not cheap.)

I have some of my dresses in a bin from Target. Not there yet to fold my jeans and put them in a bin... They're still hanging but I considered putting them in the drawer. I'm still working on the floor in the closet but I did remove the shoe rack. Its in my 'storage' room but I'll probably put it in the garage.

I just love you and I so wish you lived close by I'm in Alabama I'm also 64 been married 35 years with 2 grown children, 4 grands & 3 great grands. I used to be able to keep things organized but I have baby clothes that I just cannot part with. My master closet is pitiful looking and i share with my husband. I'm going to use this video to help me get it organized. But I have a question for you could you recommend something that I could use for my children and grandchildren's clothes that mean so much to me that I can not part with. Take a picture of each item. Put them in a photo album and then donate to someone else who can really used them. Or make a photo album on your computer so you can still enjoy "having" them..

The video was great and had some great ideas. But don't the shoes get dirty being placed in the bins that way? (Rubbing on eachother as they are taken in and out) I'm especially thinking about the white shoes.
I always use a Lysol wipe on the bottom of my shoes before they come into my closet 👍
