As another person who lives in the south, I totally agree. You have to have air-conditioning. I lived in the west for a long time and the difference is indescribable. I’ll just go with what you say. Lol. It’s miserable and it’s the main reason as a single momwith one child that I don’t mow my own yard and have to pay somebody

Genius Email Labels! I have learnt to Label through that with the minimal mom membership group but those Categories are life changing for me! I usually have to screen shot every thing and check up on them on my photo scroll which gets chocablock full of these 🎉❤screen shots!!!

I use non working fridges as a place to store food. I use mason jars to store many things, they keep food stuffs really well. I also use styrofoam coolers to store food in, I get them from our veterinarian because he gets so many and does not want to throw them in a landfill. I write on the coolers what is inside, and have them neatly stacked in my garage. They keep food really well. They are incredibly useful. I also use some as planters, and they work great.

I bought some handkerchiefs a few months ago to wear with my wigs as I have cancer. Having so much fun with them! Lol but the knot I tie at the top keeps coming out when I tuck the ends under. Is what you're wearing a square handkerchief? If not can you let me know where to find them? Never underestimate what God can use. That analogy of the stable goat just hit home like you wouldn’t believe. I thrive on structure and routine and knowing what’s coming but I’m a farmers wife who doesn’t really like farming, the unpredictable nature of the job, my husband’s innate need to always be on the go and juggling a thousand jobs and as a parent to several boys with ADHD chaos is my world 90% of the time. What an amazing reframe to see myself as the calming presence in their lives, the order in the chaos, the predictable in all that is constantly unpredictable. Thank you for sharing these great tips but especially for doing it in your own unique fashion.

Thank you so much for encouraging progress over perfection. We have been (gently) pursuing increased self sufficiency and preparedness over the last 25 years. We never put pressure on ourselves, and honestly it's been a lot of fun. Having raised our kids that way feels good too, in this often crazy world. I rarely pause to look back to where we've come from, but when I do, I see that our lives are almost unrecognizable, and in all good ways!

I believe the shrinkflation is due to the economy! It cost the producers more to make the product now so naturally they have to do what they have to so they can just make it another just we are trying to make it just another day!

My usband and I grew up poor but different levels of poor and you can tell the difference. He will only eat name brand Oreos but I don't have a preference. I know how to navigate the government assistance programs but he doesn't know where to start. We both mostly only buy clothes from thrift stores with very few exceptions. We fix things instead of throwing away and buying new. We don't ever go out to eat, I cook at home. I mend holes in our clothes.

I did a lot of dump it in the crock pot meals that are made, as you said with ingredients. I had someone over. She said man she wished she had time to cook. I told her that it only took me 5 minutes.

Honoring the Sabboth, morning devotions with coffee, and time outside gardening or walking are what feed my soul so I can be and do what I need to.

Before I could not longer coffee I got an espresso maker. I got really pretty cups to make me get more out of the experience.

Tea is really good for my health issues. I do really good tea but put a tea bag in a portion size container and let steep in the fridge for a few days. It is really good. I have done this with cheaper tea bags but Harney and Sons hot cinnamon spice tea has tea, cinnamon, and cloves which are really good for you

I used to grate the Zote bars in my Cuisinart, and my dry Zote -washing soda - Borax mix I loved, except that it didn't dissolve well except in hot water. Though it was fun learning about what each ingredient does to help clean, after about a year I was at Costco, and passed by a display of Original Tide powder. The old familiar scent was heavenly, and after doing the math, the ready-made Tide powder cost about same, was easier to use, plus worked with warm and cold water. So, I've buckled and gone back to my childhood Original Tide powder, with Downy April Fresh softener, and now OxyClean for helping with stains. It's silly, but those old familiar scents do seem to make me smile. Now I just stock up my faves when they go on a good sale.

The greatest thing ever for email declutter is the snooze feature! I use it to keep my inbox zero each night! I snooze things for when I will have time to respond or for the actual date I need the info. When they are snoozed they are removed from your inbox to another folder and will automatically return to your inbox when you wanted it to… life changing!

And now I want to watch Ferdinand just to see Lupe, the calming goat, funniest character ever!!

I quit using my central air years ago,put me energy efficient window units in my kitchen and my bedroom,use quality floor fans and ceiling fans year around,my light way down keep my air on 72 degrees.I am in N.C.

I do something like this, more like 20-30 mins, at night because I can't stand cleaning before 5pm. I'd rather get dressed and figure out how to have fun during the day. But cleaning in those 3 minute in-between time is so powerful. I always say...I will attack the mess the same way it attacks me (little by little.) TFS!

Yep, I’m definitely by description the “stable goat” of my home. 🥰 I 2nd the batch shopping! For many years, at the beginning of each month I’ve been doing one big grocery shopping trip and buying all our non-grocery household needs. Then I just shop for fresh items each week and I never have to purchase things like toilet paper or batteries during the month. A weekly shopping trip to the store or farm is mostly just for refilling our filtered water jugs, produce, and deli meat or cheese we ran out of early, and the pharmacy for picking up prescriptions if needed. We get coffee and local fresh milk as needed throughout the month at our local coffee roasters shop, eggs come from my sisters chickens. I HATE going to the store, so this works best for me. And “capsule” meal planning as well. I don’t plan meals way ahead, but I make meals out of the foods I’ve kept stocked and restocked each month from our freezers, refrigerator, and pantry.

A lot of you tubes of women showing their home, clothes, etc. is STAGED. It takes a lot to block out the rest of the house just to get a corner to film. So I agree with you, about feeling like my home will never look like that!
