- Tool Live DVD 1993. Full Concert.
Made another one of these things. I think this turned out pretty good. Went half nuts though with sync editing since Tool have never played with a click track. I cheated a little with this one because there's not enough video material from 1993, so I included performances from 1992 - 1994, during which Maynard pretty much looked the same. Audio is 3 HQ SBDs from 1993. As usual, the audio and video have been edited because I tell myself I know what I'm doing.

It can't be normal. I'm just fuckin obsessed by Tool. The delivery, the musicianship, the lyrics, the otherworldly vocal. It shatters my mind.
i know how you feel..we all feel the same way :)
I do have the same addicition...
Preaching to the choir.
One addiction we can be proud of.
Should start a support group.....we meet on toolsday.
Hahahaha.

0:00 - Intolerance
4:39 - Part of Me
8:03 - Sober
13:07 - Prison Sex
17:44 - Undertow
23:02 - Swamp Song
28:32 - Opiate
34:00 - Flood
37:30 - Bottom
For my reference and others, now in odd time signature edition!
aww why'd they skip the long build up to flood?
@@nerdycat9180 probably cuz it's one of their earlier shows at a tiny bar/club. people wouldn't have the attention span for it I guess
>0
Thank you for the helpful set list! I love Tool, but I definitely don't have all their songs committed to memory.
@@royisstr But the opening to Flood is one of the most badas, sludgiest riffs in 90s Metal history.
My neighbors loved this set so much! That they threw a brick into my window, so they can hear it better
😢 😮 😅
My neighbors love this so much they play drums along with it on the wall
My dogs been struggling with back issues. I just laid on the ground with her for close to an hour listening to this. We both thank you for your time.
poor doggo, mine is 14! had her since I was only 9. My dog is my best friend, always been there for me every day... dogs are gods gift... to man (im not even religious) I could spent all day just sitting outdoors in my garden with my dog, watching the birds.... in fact i do that when its nice out.. :)
cunig2064 You are a good person. I hope your friend is ok.
The almighty power of Tool at its finest! It cant be ignored!
CBD, reiki, and acupuncture have helped my senior fur babies. Hope you're both well.
I miss my dog, had to give him up. :c
“I’ll make weapons out of my imperfections, see it’s all I have left now....” genius
Damn! First time hearing this. This really captures Maynard in his prime.
What a versatile voice!
So rich in his singing style, incredible lyrics and a frontman who delivers at his best on stage !
Tool fucking terrific
What a genius band
🔨⚙️⚙️🔧
Insane sound quality
Maynard is the beast...the best
His shout of rage and relief gives shiver.
The thrill is not gone.
Damn, dude, a lot of people won't understand the tough work you went through. This is fuckin' decent!
fuhhh uhhh uhhhking deeeceeentttt boyss
Would you explain what's so tough about it?
apparently uploading a video to youtube is tough...
Memorable Name you're the type of person to whom I'm referring. This was not an existing video that ToolArchive found and then uploaded. Many different recordings were collected to make this. You don't understand how tough it is to compile multiple cuts from different videos, sync up a singular audio, cut to different angles at certain parts of the song to keep it interesting, and other things I don't feel like explaining to you. You don't realize you're being sarcastic and condescending about something, about which you have no fucking clue.
Sorry for unloading on you, man. Cheers.
This is the best set list they've ever played, thanks ToolArchive.
I'm not sure how Danny's mom gave birth to a full grown alien octopus with a 32 piece drum set, but we thank her.
The fucking voice of this man.
Bloody hell! Seeing Tool life in the 90s must have been a life-changing experience. Even an old recording on youtube makes me sob as those young girls did at Michael Jackson concerts. Weird comparison but I don't know how to describe better what this music does to my brain.
I saw them open for Rollins Band. Danny’s parents were at the show. Sword Fighting in the Mouth of Reality tour.
It was for me. With AIC, Rage, and Primus. Lollapalooza ‘93.
That goddamn onsie is legendary!
DaiTheFlu
Isn't that the truth !!! Lol
Lmao
Id buy it.. Then.. Yup.. Id buy it
I think it symbolizes how he seems himself in spiritual infancy just starting out with the band
I love early 90s pink onesie Maynard.
i prefer blue late 90-s Maynard))
That’s a romper. He romps.
In that year I was 2 years old and I already liked this
1992-1994 is simply the best tool such a raw sound thanks Paul 🤘🏼
I'M IN THE UNDERTOW
Holy Lord what a voice
Flood sounds like 46 & 2. I feel 4° warmer after watching this. His voice is amazing in this video collab. It's so good to see what he used to look like with hair, and what he used to look like when he actually moved and fronted the band with what seemed to be alot more anger and aggression. I can see from photos and interviews in recent times, in his eyes and demeanor, he seems to be in a good place. Maybe not so much in these clips, but by gosh it's mesmerising.
Edit: it's also great not to see one megaphone!
it's not enough. i need more.
I don't want it. I just need it.
To breathe To feel To know I'm alive
Got em
Kudos to the editor of this masterpiece! Mind is blown 🤯
i fucking love tool and APC..the only bands I can listen to every single day and never get bored of.
Same, mate
im amused with the way Maynard moves. its like hes on some really good shit. out of this 🌎
Terence Ruetz this is your brain on Tool
you kids think ppl need to be on something to be great.. this dude was sober
lol ok, he was on acid
So Maynard said I could just bugging you
@@memorablename5187 The guy is sober, I swear. Hes joking when he says he did that during that time.
Fantastic Mix..the sound Quality is absolutely Fantastic....Love being able to See Maynard, these days somewhere in the shadows......Perfect!
this is the best video on UA-cam. Thank you so much for this! I can't imagine how long it took to put together.
It's so weird seeing Danny with such a small kit...great vid! 🤘🌀🤘
a couple things to add..i rarely if ever comment. idk why i just don't. however, i cannot resist in this case due to my awestruck affection for tool.1st, i have had the great pleasure of seeing tool 4 times and apc once. the last time i saw tool was july 2010 at the arco arena sac. ca. the first time was '99 or 2000 and in my opinion maynard was and remains a nearing flawless vocalist. he has as a two-legged and artist obviously grown over the years extensively. if you don't think so simply pay attention to the lyrical content and how vastly it has grown since opiate to 10,000 days. personally it blows my mind. that goes for the rest of the group as well. musically they have always been bold pioneers. feelings, tastes, knowledge, ideas and beliefs change as we grow and tool is no exception. they continue to impress, inspire and set the bar as far as i am concerned. 2nd, tool archive you are quite talented and modestly humble. i do music/video editing myself and fully appreciate the time and energy that must've gone into this video. syncing is no easy task. so kudos my friend. well done indeed. and lastly, who needs a click track when you've got beast/genius like danny as your drummer. just saying he's not human. thanks for such an awesome upload!
n.f.w.
This story is totally made up they never been to Arco hahaha
@@wickedtweeker6477 yes they have. in july 2010
it's true they did July 13th and I saw them at the sac memorial auditorium, sleep train ampatheatre, shoreline ampatheatre, Honda civic center in San Fran, UC San Diego college and staples center.
@@wickedtweeker6477keep on tweekin bro
I like it. The different concerts makes it interesting especially because I've listened to the music 1000 times.
Very true xd
Paul was the man
I shall wear a pink onesie out of respect. Thank You Tool. This video changed my day.
Ant Scar lol it’s actually just a sunworn union suit with cut sleeves and pantlegs
Lmao
His vocals are so clean and powerful live. The best way I can describe him on stage to people that aren't familiar with this amazing front man is "its like a alien learning to work/move a human body for the first time...
He hides now in the back of the stage id kill to see him put on a show like his early days the moves are great
Yeah. That past performance of Sober is hard to watch.
I think that, I have to take a break.
@@nalydbear2179How old is he now? almost Sixty or Mid 50s?
I would say
It is a human burning with emotions after a long time of neglecting them
I saw them at a small club around 93, the lights were out, he was painted completely black with a blue light dildo he waved around the entire show. Mad
This piece of media is absolute gold!
One of the many great things about this video is the raw sound that they had back then. You can hear what Adam's guitar tone is like with only his Marshall. Though some of these recording may have him also using his old 2 channel Dual Rectifier.
this is my favorite Tool live1993. Usually come down to it.
You need to lay off the drugs lady you're on here commenting about it way too much.😂
This is the first tool show on the internet that has good sound and video quality so thank you so much for uploading 😁
maynard is still the friggin man, but god i just get chills hearing him sing live back in his prime! can we get that new album now or what... cmon maynard, waitin on you buddy
Its here and I love it

Sober is such an amazing song
Was lucky enough to see this tool era live a few times. Maynard left an impression on me with his intensity that I will never forget.
I loved the first bassist era of tool. Saw them then, before the mega success.
I am seeing Tool for the first time next month and I am so fucking excited
How was it??
@@baconator1550 One does not listen to Tool, one experiences Tool. Amazing.
@@robbyrooster well put. Could not agree more!
seriously you put out the best videos!! the sound quality is just amzing!! Thank you!!!
Good video. It’d be really cool to see Maynard sing out front again. Especially with that Mohawk makeup.
The AV sync on this is brilliant.
Amazing footage! Thank you very much mate
AMAZING JOB! Really. And THANK YOU! Really.
Tool has always been so good.
AMAZING!! Thank you for your efforts mate!!
New Tool fan, thanks for all this work you've laid out. These band is really unique.
Thank you ToolArchive, its nice to be able to listen to old tool concerts while doing schoolwork during covid
O man, thank you, this is just mesmerizing !!!
huge thanks for your work! love it.
Omg this is so good. I saw them back then and it was a small venue like the first shot. Thanks!
woah , the sound AND image quality are stunning, great job!
Thank you for this! EPIC!! 🖤
Thank you for all the work you put into these, this sounds amazing!
Best archive found ever!!! Thanks!!!
I still tear up every fucking time Maynard belts out a scream. Thank you, ToolArchive. \m/
Superb editing, love the transition from opiate to flood, very fluid. Superb editing. Great work! Reverend Maynard can sing!
I thank you for this man!!
The staring contest thus began!
Great stuff, thanks for uploading this.
Lot of work here, respect and love for you good man.
Tool really evolved musically from this era to the lateralus era more so then most bands I listen to
Great Upload ToolArchive! Thanks for keeping the Best band (My opinion) Alive.
Holy shit what a gem! ToolArchive you da best!
Maynard's dirty pink pajamas
Back when tickets werent 200 bucks a piece! on a serious note though, I would have loved to have been around for this era of Tool but I was only in middle school at the time... Didnt really pay any attention to them besides seeing "Sober" on mtv a lot.
Awesome work, Toolarchive
Bryan Beyer Yeah, in 93 I was 7 with no idea this existed. Instead I was laying on my stomach in front of the TV rubbing my dingaling across the floor watching Walk Like an Egyptian by The Bangles or eating popcorn watching Beetlejuice. Decades later and my day to day hasnt changed a bit.
I grew up in a musical household but my dad was constantly playing the Beatles etc. Which isnt a bad thing at all, but most guys my age were discovering the music that was happening at the time, and I was still listening to stuff from the 70's
You definitely missed out. I was in elementary school when this came out but Undertow was the first cd i bought days after sober and prison sex came out. Ive been a drummer since.
Fairly certain Danny is attempting to open a drumway to hell.
And by hell you mean a stargate to 7eleven in bizarro Narnia.
😂
I love you Tool archive!
Resonating in resonance
thank you SO MUCH!
Awesome video !!! Thanks!!! Cant wait to see them this May in Florida!!!
great vibe man! i like it too much....
This video took some SERIOUS work. Salute!
Amazing work. Respect. 🤟🌀
thank you for this
1993 This is back when the Record Company was calling all the shots.
I saw that the original Bass Player for Jane's Addiction finally has surfaced.
I could of seen them open for The Smashing Pumpkins. No, thanks. I saw The Smashing Pumpkins on their first tour. In Washington Square, off of South Beach. Miami, Florida. It was in this Bar.
5 dollars in advance. 7 dollars at the door. They played there 3 nights in a Row Sold-out. It was a small bar. It was so hot in there. They had guys dumping water on the crowd from the Rafters. I was so close to Billy Corgan that, I could of walked up to him and thrown a roundhouse kick to his head. I should of.
He probably would of thanked me for it.
Later. He was so Arrogant. I noticed that one of his legs is shorter than the other.
He was imperfect. Egomaniacal, as if he was. Saw them a year later for 25 dollars at The Edge in Fort Lauderdale Florida.
My buddy Bryan wore Sperry Top Siders into the Pit. He lost one of his shoes and someone threw it at Billy Corgan. Too bad he or her or zer missed. Too bad. So, Billy starts whining. James Iha is trying to mellow the crowd out. Darcy looked not happy about how his Highness was acting. Mr. Chamberlain just waited it out. I thought he was a Good Drummer.
He was kicked out of The Band for Forcing their version of Dizzy Reed, to shoot Heroin aka Deso-Morphine. He must of held a pistol to the guy's head.
Blaming a Man for the actions of another Man seems a little bit Judgmental. When a Band loses Cohesion. It bothers a lot of The Fans. I guess, Billy didn't understand that. Now he wants to eat Chips and Dip on Stage. Too, little too late.
Unfortunately, One cannot go back in time. Actually, it is quite Fortunate one cannot. I am saving my money for Tool.
In Memory of Bryan Block.
You should of kept in touch
Drugs are bad mmmkay
Excellent job - thanks for the post
Best Channel Ever!!!!! ♥
Damn.... This is some serious stuff...... Thanks man....
I was born in 95. My bro played beastie boys to me and he loved all of this. First i was listening to System and finally have got onto Tool and I feel late to the fuciin off chops party! As you can imagine, I'm obsesed atm
They are all AWESOME songs, but I hadn't heard Flood in a while. Man turned out AWESOME! Great work!
thank you
A Massive Fuck Yeah!!! The mix is spot on! Thanks for sharing this one - love it! \m/ Maynard singing like he means every word!
Always have loved Tool. Timeless music
dude nice this is actually a legit video. you actually made it and put it together. thanks man for just not uploading one of the same videos that already is out here. original content is sweet.
This remains one of my favorite videos ever, with great sound quality and properly captures Tool at an era that is clearly over and done with. Is there audio downloads available of this, by any chance?
When this album dropped as follow up to Opiate - it was a sonic hole smashed in the paradigm. Maynard is such the anti-rockstar and these guys are forever
ToolArchive I don't know how I'd survive without you
Omg THANK YOU ToolArchive !!!!!! 😭
