It's not a war on drugs, It’s a war on personal freedom, that’s what it is okay? Keep that in mind at all times, Thank you
You say that like it doesn't make sense that the "Land of the Free" also has the largest prison population on the planet...

I was there, awesome concert, was 19 and tripping on acid as I walked into the building to opening drums of third eye, was intense and life changing
I bet that INSANE and beyond magical
fuck off, i wish i was you at that moment. I wasn't even born when this concert happened, but i saw them live in Budapest this year, literal bucket list moment for me, i cried my eyes out :')
i actually went to the only concert of theirs ive been to before i started exploring psychs. wish i would have been tripping balls. but i was the driver for the 2 hour trip there and back. oh well
dude...i was like 20 and also tripping...i saw them at the NY show just before this one....they didn't play 3rd eye...i remember my buddy and i being blown away that they spend w/it
And now you work at McDonalds?
Dude. Adam Jones kills...is such a rad guitarist.
Angelvox1 is Adam Jones not in to it watching 2017? Or is he just transcending this dimension?
@@ddechurch i have seen TOOL probably 6 or 7 times...the most i have ever seen him do was take a few steps back and then a few forward before hammering out a chord. He never moves....

My favorite Maynard era... boxer days
Maynard in front were their best era. By far
Steph knows what's good 🤘
🤩 damn straight
People who say TOOL are overrated just don't get it. Period.
I hope you guys realize you are witnessing what could be among the greatest live performances in modern history.
Better than cochella 99?
Caleb Zachary I believe it is. mainly because coachella 99 didn't have much DC footage. This is by far the best Danny footage of the hundreds of live shows I've seen by Tool.
+rastabg23 I can understand if you're a DC fan (meaning you watch him the most) but I'm a Maynard man and he was so energetic and cool at cochella. I miss that guy so much.
Justin Bieber 2010?
I realize
33:03 is still one of my favourite interactions. Discussing the bad stage sound amongst themselves, Maynard tells Adam he feels "like Snoop Doggy Dogg" because the delay in the monitors was causing his vocals to slightly lag behind the beat.
And the tough pill for a lot of you out there is that things like this are what made them switch the stage setup to what it is now.
@@lepoisson cause every band has had to do what they did to get by, I don't buy it for one second
@@trembling3674what are you talking about? Maynard himself said that’s why he moved
@trembling3674 bro Mike bleed through and delays are a real thing sorry u never performed before clown
@@trembling3674Yeah, you’re right he probably just lied about that……………………………
Blue Maynard is best Maynard 🧞♂️🌚
Do you think he blue himself? Asking for my friend Tobias
I’d do him
That when I first saw him .. blue and only underwear
1. Mohawk Maynard
2. Shaved Maynard
3. Kabuki Maynard
4. Preacher Maynard
5. Blue Maynard
... then background Maynard
Televangelist Maynard wishes to have a word.
Holy shit they opened with Third Eye? That's awesome.
They opened with Third Eye at the Armory in Salem, OR. the pit broke down the barrier and they had to stop to rebuild it. Never saw them open with it again Haha
I saw them at Red Rocks in 2010 i think it was, and they opened with Third Eye both nights. Life changing is all i can say.
dude...we was blown the fk away when they opened w/this.....especially after seeing the NY show prior to this one.
I was thinking the same thing. Pretty wild way to open the show.
Danny's solo was pure fire ❤️🔥
Tool I'm addicted...... the first time I ever heard them i started crying I was that blown away from the sound
🤓
The First time I heard them I was having Sex with my Husband ‘98💓🥁☮️☄️Married since 2000💝👏🏼♥️🎶Happily I might ADD😁🥰
listen to Craw, they were far superior, Tool ripped them off
ua-cam.com/video/WGrDKiFxjmY/v-deo.htmlsi=8s6c6XH7jok4AkMQ
I flew in to almost conflicting tears when I heard that powerful "so glad to see, you I missed you so much". I can't pinpoint it. Mad? Sad? Grateful? I dunno but it BROKE me.
most underrated band ever... by far bigger and better as beatles, rolling stones, queen, deep purple, led zeppelin, acdc & co...
I love Tool as much as the next guy, but you need to get a grip here. Not a single member of Tool would agree with you, and the fact that you believe that shows that you weren't alive in the hey day of the bands you named.
@@chadgraber3639 wrong. The fact that people don't undestand Tool as one of those bands proves Ops comment. Being more popular shouldn't matter.
Led Zeppelin and Beatles would be the only bands I’d consider in the same breath as tool that’s just an opinion though
@Phillip Anthony yea exactly 🤟🏻🤟🏻
Hey Tool is one of the greatest bands of all time, but even Lateralus will never compare to records like Physical Graffiti.
Screw the aging process. We are so fortunate they are all alive and still quality but it is so refreshing seeing them in their prime here. Thank you for preserving this!
I’m so glad I found tool. Cuz when I did I found my tribe. I love y’all
Damn, so true! 😌🥰
what I would give to be born early enough to witness TOOL in the early 90s........ thanks a lot mom and dad for waiting until 89!! 😢
Right there with you 😒 '88 here 🙋♀️
H was amazing! "I am too, connected TO YOU!"
Could you imagine being this talented?! Holy smokes these guys are incredible. Incomparable in my eyes...
Yup in 96 - 2002 TOOL are unbeatable, there sound was unreal. There will never be a band as good as them in that era.
I would totally wait for the world to end by apocalypsis while listening third eye.
sounds wonderful
totally agree with you, but I'd rather listen the album version, cuz mjk never do the 'prying open my third eye' thing right, idk, it always sound softer than the album version, but it still sounds nice the live version of it
Augusto Vitor you ever pry open your third eye on stage in front of thousands? Not so easy ;)
I have loved Tool since '93. The last few months I've been listening to their entire catalog over and over. And I'm trying to watch as many live shows as possible. Props to whoever uploads and remasters these shows. We do not take your work for granted.
Been watching too, before the fn grid goes down when we go to WAR ! #3 , NJ. 😢 get ready.

I still love the band, but I really wish they would put H back in the setlist. It’s every bit as classic as Stinkfist or Forty Six & 2. It was even a single.
Yeah, that’d be awesome. It’s the high notes, bro. Just can’t do em all anymore. Maynard picks the set lists.
It's a hard song to sing. Literally learning Tool songs improved my singing lol! That said, I think MJK could do a bit of a modified version today. He sounds great currently. I can tell he's been working hard.
h sounds fucking amazing here
indeed!
Absolutely.
Agreed.
he's one intense dude... it's like he'd seen beyond...
I wish I wasn't 6 years old when this was performed. Would've loved to see Tool in the 90's
Prior to the 'seated only' era was definitely their Best.
I wish i wasn't -4
Just watching Maynard preform and move to unconventional positions gives me the first stages of discus hernia
and it is perplexing still to see what he manages to pull off.
OMG I saw them this tour in Springfield MO I love you for posting this.
prison sex that song never gets old
Stink fist sober and the pot
Typical
Its the OTRM version here that needs to be on Salival 2.
I was there, thank you very much.
55:04 !
I dont miiiiiiindddd!!!!!
At 1:11:09, did Maynard hide behind Danny when a random guy came on stage and touched him on the back? So freaking precious. (Excellent concert, ugh.)
Melina K I would too Danny’s 6’5” nobody’s gonna fuck with him lol
A man came on stage when dimebag was playing, how did that pan out?
Danny and Maynard remind me of cartoon buddies because one is huge and one is tiny. Also in newer footage Maynard looks so amazed and happy when he watches Danny play. I would be too, standing next to the greatest drummer of our time
1:16:44 when a mosquito flies near your ear so you chase it away but it keeps coming back
Lol good one

Man who ever remastered this, thank you . Amazing job. This concert is so F'ing good. Great audio.
Danny was shredded back in the day.
his arms are still bigger than my neck nowadays
He's shredded af now.. He's pushing 60 and is a beast
58:36, love the way maynard hit those notes on the chorus of Sober
This was my 1st concert when I was 15. I was blown away.
2 songs in, Danny- "Tarps off boy's"
The remastering is highly appreciated....thank you!
Really cool the conversation before Eulogy...and then actually being able to hear MJK's actual vocal line before it hits the bullhorn through the intro...awesome.
What was he talking about? I heard something about snoop Doggy dogg singing... any idea?
This is amazing quality. Thanks for the upload.
I’d give anything to go back to these days
wasn't even alive. i don't want to live in a world without tool
I was there, Convention Hall, Asbury, NJ.....
Great sounding show as always.
This is the ERA! Thanks For Capturing & Sharing! Get Some!
No doubt.
Good God... just amazing. This is one of the greats in their prime, it really doesn't get much better than this to me. Thank you for providing this, I will be watching this for years to come
what a good lineup for this show! the year I was born 😎
Thank you beautiful
Made my Hump day
Love + Light xx
I can't explain my feelings, this is such amazing
Cool take on H.
God bless the author for putting in breaks between the songs. THANK YOU !
This was one of the best sets I have heard.
I don't use drugs. I just listen tool...
And the two together were meant for each other.
Eww .. Man tool fans are something else
no kidding
both together is best
Legends say you don't need drugs to enjoy Tool, you need Tool to enjoy drugs.
Didn't know that they were doing the Stinkfist solo section all the way back then.
hope they make a studio version with the solo
Third Eye is such a fantastic opener, glad I got to see them open with it once (post-10k Days)
7:34 Beautiful moment. ♡
They sound AMAZING on this one...
I know it's not completely Tool related, but I am very excited to see Puscifer in April. Being able to see Maynard live will be the highlight of my year. I hope that whenever Tool releases their new album, they hit Philly up on their tour.
I would love to see puscifer. As much as I love tool and apc I think some of maynards best work is with puscifer. I have been lucky enough to see both tool and apc (I live in Scotland) but I don't think puscifer will ever make it over here unfortunately
7 years later I gotta ask, did you catch them?
@@royalkuhnt8216 lmfao yes! Saw Puscifer and then have been able to see Tool twice, once before Fear Inoculum and then once for the tour for the album. Amazing both times
@TheBrawlingBrothers I've gone all out on poor financial decisions and caught them four times with two more shows lined up 🤣
Also caught Puscifer last year and need to see them again.
Spent most of my life skipping out on concerts and suddenly can't get enough of them.
this is always stellar !!!!!!!!!!!!TOOL ARMY!!!!!!!!!!
Wow what a show! I check out a ton of live Tool, but mostly early 90's sets, 01, 02, and 2011-14, because those were some of my fav shows. I never saw much from 97-8 til recently. What a great time to catch them live. I had the cassette of Aenima and played it non stop for yrs when showering, shaving, and getting ready for work. Lol. You get some opiate, some undertow, and lots of aenima. Great energy from the band and vocals are on point.
What a set list!
SOBER 1993...I remember that! 👍😎🤘 Thanks for this !
By far, out of all the live tool videos, this one is the best one. Best quality and best audio. And the best part. . Maynard is up front in blue!
Thank you for everything. I couldn't have done it without you . Forgiveness is great and the weight feels less now.
beautiful live
This has got to be one of the earliest versions/performances of the extended version of Stinkfist? This is only shortly after Aenima came out, I had no idea they had started playing that version so early. Just an awesome, awesome, awesome video/performance,
Thank you for this upload. The audio quality and your guy's performance was awesome. Sounds bitchin in my car. Wish I was born 10 years earlier
The soundtrak to my life
Ha! I love their little meetings onstage 😂 You can almost hear what they're saying. My 1st Tool show was a year and a half after this show 7-22-98
goddamn! third eye is truly a masterpiece.
This band is the shit! I feel like their "prying open MY third eye" certain times, listening to them.
13:50 This is a Butoh dance movement. Holy shit! This man has multiple talents
Maynard definitely knows of Butoh. His dance style is so akin to it. It really wouldn't surprise me!
Woah I just googled that and the movements are so similar! I just thought it is wild, hypnotic gremlin alien moves that was his bodies instinctive response to the music. I find it cool that it's a whole art form
Tool's my favorite drug !!! This concert is one of the best ever ... people who were there must admit they saw something incredible ...
What a show what a setlist! Shows are so much better when Maynard was in front. Thank you Tool Archive.
Maynard being in the back and almost disinterested is lame. There’s only so much lasers and screens can sustain a show . I think they’re boring now
wow thanks for sharing this. quality post. I saw them on this leg of the 1997 tour, in Austin with the Melvins. It was my 2nd Tool show, and it was incredible. Such an amazing night.
Can’t believe I haven’t seen this one yet. Also sad that I was like 20 miles from this show but didn’t get into TOOL for a few more years. Thank god for Lateralus tour which was peak TOOL and still moderately peak Maynard.
So goddamn good!
damn back at it again with the sick footage! thanks!
Jesus Christ shut the fuck up with that trend
I was here ... amazing.
What a great show!
The first time I saw Tool was on this tour for Aenima. In Chicago, at the Aragon Ballroom. I was a sophomore in high school, with my two best friends. What a night. Blown away.
OMG, 46:41. This is the best audio version I've heard yet of the Over the Rainbow Mix version of Prison Sex. Amazing.
Such an awesome show
I saw them in London three days before this. That's when the infamous "Fan incident" happened. Saw it from the barricade! Great memories!
That's badass
what incident?
This is Awesome 💯🤙 🎼🎶🥁🙏
This audio is fucking incredible, so clean
This is so awesome
None of their songs get old
13:43 Scrub-a-dub-dub...
Also, I didn't realize they had written in the extended jam section before "I'll Keep Digging!" at this time. I thought they wrote that closer to when Lateralus came out. Fascinating.
first minute of concert is mind numbing every time
I wish the '95 new years eve show was this amazing quality, they really had something to prove that night and achieved a jaw dropping set. This is an amazing show but in my opinion that 95 show was the best performance I've ever heard from Tool.
Tool needs to appreciated more for setting a high standard for what passionate performances should be. They changed the game for me.
One of the most powerful Tool songs! They don’t play it anymore which is disappointing but hey, we got this video to keep watching! Thanks for posting! 👍
One of the best performances of eulogy. Entire concert is legendary in itself though
This is the month and year I was born. I’d sell my soul and first born to go back and see it right now.
Imagine being part of this band? Each member is A+ at what they do. Crazy
Saw this tour in Atlanta a few months before this,it was still 96,I remember the opening band was just crazy, psychosomatic, or psychotica, can't remember, but I do remember it being the greatest concert in my life, the venue turned the air conditioning off until the show was over,I know it was 100 plus degrees in the international ballroom, you could see steam rising off peoples heads when the opened the doors,it was just a peice of history.
My first big concert.
What I would give to see them in this era
I saw almost this identical show at UCF arena in Oviedo FL. Tripping balls, they opened with 3rd Eye which complete launched me into the best trip of my life. Maynard was basically dressed the same except he had orange dots all over his blue body. I was disappointed to find out we had seats instead of being the floor but we were like 3rd row so we could see just above the audiences heads and a perfect view of the stage. Still the best show I've seen. Closest thing to religious experience I've ever had.
