Coheed is a great band, see other their songs. Mostly from their first albums. They're just as good as Pink Floyd. I dare say that the Pink Floyd of our time
They are more complex and deeper music then Floyd if you ask me.. this is my all time favorite band. All I can say is congrats for discovering them, and don't continue to sleep on them. Go listen to 'in keeping secrets of silent earth 3' incredible song.
If you watch the about Coheed/Claudio Sanchez - his influences are Star Wars and [who else] Pink Floyd. So it's not a fluke you found them searching for Pink Floyd.
I love all the people that are like they’re not metal reeee. LOL they have some amazing stuff that’s more than heavy. I absolutely love these guys. Such incredible talent. The guitar work in this song especially is very pink Floyd
+Nicolas Gralewicz but hurt much? must hAve taking a lot of effort to type that much. Talent is a opinion. U like queen I like coheed. Honestly I think queen is overrated maybe it's because I'm not the biggest fan of his voice. I think Claudio's comics are unique because the band concepts his albums around them and to me there amazing ideas I think the creativity in Claudio is some of the best ever. Yeah they look up to queen I'm sure but to say there not as talented is a opinion that u should go on the bohemian rhapsody video and post. This whole band was self taught watch there documentaries. They also have a series about his book Travis has a comic book and Claudio has three talent isn't just singing and playing guitar it's lyrical and writing is very important.
+Nicolas Gralewicz I think Claudio's voice easily trumps queens but again that's a opinion. There is not possible way of proving who is better. Claudio can sing he can do opera and he can scream. Maybe you haven't watched enough of Claudio's work. The man is part God. And get off this page with your hate. I wouldn't go on queens page and say Claudio was more talented. So kindly fuck off you troll.
Been a fan of heavy metal, prog rock and many other genres over the years and as time has gone by, my tastes have evolved and changed as you'd expect but Coheed are a band I always come back too. They are just that good.
Haven’t listened to them consistently for the past decade after doing so non stop the years before as well as seeing countless live performances. I listen and it reminds me in my mid 30s now why I listened to them 10+ years ago!!! Just amazing music, amazing artists, amazing
Claudio is such a better guitarist than you would expect. You would think that being a badass story writer, singer, lyricist, and beard-owner would have been enough but not for him no sir.
This performance gets me Everytime because it's like you feel the rage, the bitterness, the seething hate for that person who you loved but wronged you and left you jaded. Or that self pity, self loathing, cry for savior. It's like you feel so many emotions during the whole performance. There's just so many ways you can interpret this song. It's a whole ass ride
if you want a suggestion, watch the Doors playing live, they used to do stuff like this, where they slowed it down completely and went quiet (live at the bowl 68 - When the Music is Over)
I wish I knew what they had back then and I would have gone to see them. I saw them do this at Kemba Live in 2021, while amazing, I miss Mic Todd's tone.
not much of a fan of coheeds other stuff but this album changed my life, this song especially, such a powerful soulful bluesy track, the bass is amazing, the organ holds everything together, and the solos are so chilling. one of the best songs ever composed in my opinion.

Still the definitive version of this song as far as I'm concerned. Not as long or abstract as the Neverender version and way more in depth than the album version.
As a big fan of jam bands and classic rock, who grew up listening to coheed from age 8 to now (25), whenever I want to get my friends who aren't into metal/prog/emo into coheed, this is my go to recommendation

Bought this DVD for a friend about 12 years ago. He called me drunk... Oh my god they just don't stop on final cut!! Greatest band ever! Yeah I just said that.. That just happened
Claudio is definitely a Gary Moore, Adrian Smith type player. Amazing syncopation, intonation and vibrato with a unique sense of phrasing and melody that's definitely classic yet his own. Easily my favorite lead guitarist in modern rock or prog.
@@neilpatrickhairless This concert was 13 years ago. This was maybe 7 years into their career if you count the various lineups of Shabutie. I know how long they've been around, I've seen them live eight times.

I don't think there is a performance of The Final Cut from Floyd or Rogers :( I'm seeing Roger live this weekend though, and I'm crossing my fingers that he'll perform it!
I've never really heard Travis make his guitar cry. Not that he doesn't have emotion, he has it in spades but the crying effect to me is that specific bend, hold and slow release into intense vibrato that gives you chills...I've never really heard him quite do that.
I honestly thought I was the only person to want to scream or sing into pickups (during a late night party/show when I was 17). As soon as I heard this I knew…Claudio and I would get along perfectly. 👌🏻 CoCa, best progressive rock band since the dawn of time.
It's absolutely unbelievable to me that Coheed isn't more popular. This song alone should be enough to attract anyone, especially all those Pink Floyd fans who stumble on it by accident!
Their original bass player was incredible. I wish I could have caught them before… ya know. The next best thing would be Les Claypool jamming with them live this summer. My brain might explode.
Saw these guys live in Columbus when I was maybe like 19(?). Their opener "3" was phenomenal (bought wake pig that night -- was NOT disappointed!) and Coheed closed jamming on this song. First time I'd ever been exposed to flamenco style playing (3 - bramfratura) or live improv! Truly "AWE-some" performances that made for a night I'll never forget 🤘🤘
It didn't need it. Those two records, as well as YOTBR did not need the bluesy sound the Good Apollo albums had. And honestly Coheed said they are a hardcore band anyway in an interview about writing the Afterman so it sounds like they probably are not going to be going back to the super bluesy days anymore. But here's to hoping they rip out this sound again eventually. Last information I saw about new Coheed was Claudio tweeting something along the lines of new Coheed and he was playing with a saxophone. So whether that excites you or not, apparently we're getting jazzy.

Even the fact that you commented this “5 yr ago” still some of the strongest music played ❤
This is the sickest song by Coheed & Cambria. They're much better live!!
If they aren't your favorite band, this is why Coheed is better than your favorite band.
I can agree with that. I can sooooo imagine Freddie Mercury belting the fuck out of In Keeping Secrets.
