- Terrifying dashcam vision of a crash, which left a semi-truck precariously dangling from the edge of a Louisville bridge has been released.
On March 1, the 26-year-old driver, Sydney Thomas, was airlifted to safety after nearly plunging into the Ohio River when attempting to avoid a vehicle swerving into her lane.
The footage was shown in a U.S court this week. The driver of the swerving car, 33-year-old Jeffersonville man Trevor Branham, has been charged with wanton endangerment and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended licence.

She was literally being suspended above the river by a 2.5 inch piece of steel where the fifth wheel attaches to the trailer and latches onto the pin. The tractor weighs around 5 or 6 tons which could've easily detached from the trailer pin and plummeted into the river below. She had an angel protecting her that day.
Fortunately this trucking company hauls food like frozen meals and not anything very heavy. If she was hauling anything heavier it probably would have given way. But she got very lucky with the bridges welding and the massive beam that held the trailer down.

This one isn't the womans fault. She tried turning right but clearly due to mechanical damage, it wasn't working. Also, if she was dragging a heavy load there's no way braking would have worked fast enough. Blame where blame is due, but it's not on the woman this time.
The pickup driver , Trevor Branham, was speeding and weaving through traffic on the bridge. He swerved to avoid an electric vehicle that had stalled but struck the rear of the vehicle, then careened into the semi. . He was charged with four counts of wanton endangerment and driving on a suspended license. Sydney Thomas, age 26, a military veteran, and mother of a five-year old son was driving the semi for Sysco. She is the daughter of a semi-truck driver. She gave her first interview in May and stated the semi's steering was lost upon impact with the pickup. The Clark Memorial Bridge spans the Ohio River connecting Jeffersonville, IN to Louisville. NOTE: information regarding Clark Memorial Bridge. A four lane bridge with no emergency lanes. An average of 24K vehicles cross the bridge daily. Eighty-three accidents occurred on the bridge in 2023.

@@mahbubmoI mean she likely wasn’t gonna be saved by anyone else so I think it’s appropriate to give them some credit.
@the_dude_josh whatever happened to them doing their job?
@@mahbubmo that’s a pretty L take. From that perspective nobody should ever get any credit for anything they do. Coast guard shouldn’t receive praise for going into dangerous waters saving sailors from falling overboard or a sinking ship, it’s just their job. Search and rescue shouldn’t receive praise when they have to pull people from raging floods. Firefighters shouldn’t be praised when they put themselves in danger trying to save someone like in this scenario because it’s just their job.
It is their job but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t praise them for risking their lives doing their jobs. It takes a certain selfless person to go into harms way to save another person and most people are unwilling to do it, at least for the current pay that most of these people get.

Who's saying it's her fault? Literally no one is.
@@ilovesephThere’s people in other people’s threads on this video saying it’s her fault and that she hit the guard rails and that’s why she fell off. Majority of these people don’t seem to grasp basic driving skills or if they have a driver’s license, they need to get it revoked. They’re a danger to the public.
Seeing how she’s on the right side, she’s from the US. So that being said, in the first couple of seconds of the video, it shows she was struck by an on coming car attempting to illegally overtake the car in front of them. This lead that idiot car to crash into this lady’s semi truck.
With the force of impact, it only makes sense that the sense of direction and the position of her vehicle has been pushed into an uncontrollable direction. Hence why she tried to correct the vehicle, but was unable to due to the impact. This led to her vehicle’s hood falling off the bridge.
“Some” people in the comments are blaming her for crashing into the rails and going off the bridge. These are the same people who get into car crashes and blame the other side when they themselves are the main purpose of the crash.
These people need to get their driver’s license revoked and their cars repossessed.

The cause of the accident was a driver who had a suspended license so he has obviously driven dangerously before this. The truck driver stayed in her lane, the other driver crossed over into her lane. It's obvious that suspending someone's license doesn't guarantee that they wont continue to put other drivers at risk, they simply don't care.

NOT HER FAULT
1-black truck goes into wrong lane and hit her
2-upon the impact, truck starts to roll left
3-probably due impact and damage to the lower arm control/wheel/rackpinion.
4-You see the truck driver turn the steering wheel to the right to go back into her lane , but due to the damage steering is unresponsive and truck continues to roll to the left and nearly falls.

It seems that the pickup truck turned to the right lane to try and beat the trucker (to pass them), but they didn't see the parked vehicle in the left lane; so then swerved over to the right, ultimately hitting the lady in the video.

On a bridge it is illegal to pass over into oncoming traffic, this is shown by the solid yellow lines separating the different directions of traffic. That line is not to be crossed over at any point, under penalty of law.
Edit: for clarification, the person I'm saying in the wrong is the blue pickup truck driver who hit the semi driver, the semi driver lost control of the vehicle and had no choice, whereas the pickup driver clearly had a choice.
Say this louder for the idiots in the back.😎
selain itu juga berbahaya, jika mengemudi di jembatan
The black car was trying to avoid colliding with the stopped car on the side of the bridge. Not saying they’re in the right bc they’re not but u would do the same thing.
@@mars-bv3psfor some reason the emergengy brakes exist
@@mars-bv3pshow funny … your telling someone they would do same thing. Most of us wouldn’t do that!! Better go get your thinking straighten out 😅
She’s steering away from the bridge. Idk what yall are watching.
Glad she's ok 🙏🏽
I'm glad she's OK, wow.

She was trying to turn the wheel the opposite way to avoid turning left to no avail. Definitely not her fault.
Not her fault but that’s not how you recover, you need to regain traction by steering it slightly to the right of your direction of travel.
@@CramcrumBrewbringerliterally no possible way for her to recover from that on a bridge this thin, even if her steering was working.
@@CramcrumBrewbringerdoesn’t matter. When the mechanism of the wheel breaks you can turn the wheel as much as you want. The front of a truck is way smaller than a normal car so the possibility that everything stays intact after a crash is so low. The person in the black car is at fault no one else.
The camera is reversed, she turned to the right direction. But the black truck damaged the left wheel so bad that it just didnt answer her controls and she couldnt break in time
I thought this is where Superman shows up😅😅
Boss: "No excuse to complete today's shift, Rosetta. Get back to work!"
For all the people who can't tell their right from their left, the driver was trying to avoid going over the bridge by turning towards the passenger side of the truck, which is on the right.
The truck broke the axel rod
Depends on which way your facing😊
Question is this Louisville Kentucky or somewhere else?
Возможно следовало ослабить усилие на педаль тормоза

Louisville Kentucky
She was NOT the cause of this crash! If you watch carefully at the beginning, there was a stopped vehicle on the other side of the bridge facing in the other direction and another car swerved right into her to avoid hitting the stopped car. The person that stopped that car caused the whole thing.
She is . Women just cant drive
Yes you are somewhat right but the law states that you must safely avoid a crash and swerving into the other oncoming lane is not a safe way to avoid a crash
He was probably just getting a photo
She should have been driving more on the right side of the lane for example check the truck that's in front of her truck
They need to revoke that man’s license asap tf was he even trying to do?
That guy in the pickup needs to be charged.
he is. he was also driving with a suspended license
So happy she's safe! She survived one of the scariest things ever in a car accident! ❤
She tried hard to steer right still the truck just went left. It must have been horrifying.
Fortunately, she was rescued.
Could it be that the car hitting the left side of the truck, damaged the wheel so much that it was impossible to turn right and forced it down the bridge? 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Она руль крутила налево, туда и машина поехала.
А теперь внимательно посмотри в какую сторону она крутит руль.

Действительно, я тупанул.
@valeriogerardi9358 First she turned right n brake hard, just before the crash. Than she panicked and turned left, while braking,.. So truck inertia was set to roll to the left.
Dont turn n brake, especially on the bridge and with sami truck.
