I’ve been wanting to try this but was afraid my chair wouldn’t actually end up looking like leather. So I’ve been looking up all videos related. Yours was the most helpful.
I have one coat of latex paint mixed with Downey on my chair. It has a bumpy pattern & I'm hoping by coat 3 or 4, it will be hidden. Your video is very well done and gives me hope that my chair will actually come out.🙂
So cool, thanks for showing how to do this. I picked up some great tips from watching you, plus laughed along the way, you're funny and smart, plus brave to try this. X
Hi, I’m going to be painting a fabric armchair with chalk paint. I’m just wondering is it best to mix paint with fabric softener and water? Also do I need to wax it afterward?
Did you use FLAT latex paint? or satin or semigloss or gloss? I see on the cans one is satin and one is gloss. I've seen other use flat. Please advise!
Yes one color was a satin finish, and the other was gloss... I did not notice a difference at all between the two, they both were the same consistency and dried about the same, although the gloss was slightly shinier... I will have to do more experiments with other paints!
I love your video. From a thrift diva-I am concerned you spent $20 for that horrid thing and then spent time fixing it. Gah! $5-10 MAX. Curb finds (depending on your city) and Goodwill. (Goodwill is run by employees who don’t care what things retail for).
Someone charged you $20 for that chair?? 🤯 Gurl, nooo! It's a good thing you are so amazing with the DIY skillz because someone did you dirty (literally lol)!

Did you end up doing this
Very cool job!! I have two chairs in my garage that I’m waiting to do but they’re not velvet. Great job.

Dude, excellent job on the shading 👍
Great job!
Wow this looks amazing is it comfortable to sit on? Thanks for sharing
How has it held up? It's beautiful.
Looks good. 👍🏻🎃
I love this. The chair looks so nice. How has it held up?
Did you do a 1:1 ratio? At around 5:43 it looks like you did maybe 3 parts paint to 1 part softener?
Amazing
Nice work!

No kidding right! I’ve definitely seen better on the curb. Spray paint was a new one! ❤❤❤
