I have a light beige fabric upholstered chair that is covered in stains. It has not held up well but the fabric is smooth and in tact and so is the structure. I was going to get rid of it and looking at $500 or so for a decent fabric upholstered chair and 1k for a good leather chair. I think I'm going to do this. Thanks so much for the well done video.

If all the leather is still there you could try an upholstery repair kit (they usually make them for car seats). Floor Rejects Thanks for your response!! I ended up going with a smoky black. I just finished the second coat today. It’s feeling pretty rough right now. The “original” fabric is canvas. Is it necessary to sand in between coats, or before waxing? Or will the wax kind of soften that by making it feel leathery? I used Annie Sloan chalk paint, and picked up a clear Annie Sloan wax to finish. I’m going to do a third coat before waxing. Just wondering if I need to sand?

    • @floorrejects6488

@@OhSoMeka I sand in between layers just to keep everything smooth. If the fabric you start with is rough/textured, it’s still going to carry some of the texture over to the painted fabric but sanding does help to smooth things out.
