I have a couple of tips . If you cut a loc after combing, keep the loc. So if you have a loc that breaks you can attach it to add the length if you want. Also you can buy aloe Vera juice and it is very inexpensive, so that is a convenient option. Finally you have done a great job with you hair. You should be very very proud of your work.
Hi Elizabeth, I love your locs!! You did an amazing job on your DIY microlocs. I am a new subscriber and have binge watched your videos over the last 3 days. I had sister locks that were installed by one of the certified sister lock consultants in Fort Worth, TX and she did a horrible job. I ended up getting retightens by another non-certified sister lock consultant who was great. However, I was never satisfied with how they looked from the original install. Sooo, after 1 year, I took them down one by one. Yep! I start the last week in July 2020 and finished the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I am missing my locks and want to get them back. After watching your videos, I am considering DIY microlocs. I think I have the patience, considering I took my time and took them down so I didn't have breakage. Yep, I was able to take them out and my hair natural coils looked surprisingly great. I trimmed the ends and my length is the length of your locs currently. I want to make sure they are done right so I am strongly considering doing them myself this second time around. I have a recommendation for you not being able to put your hair up easily. Have you seen the Swirly Curly hair ties? Check it out, they may help greatly, I love them for my natural coils and when I had my sister locks. Also, I am glad PA school is going well. I am a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Family Nurse Practitioner (12 yrs FNP 7 of which I have had my doctorate). Your suggestions for those that would like to become a PA are on point. Keep at it, you are going to be so happy with your career once you are done. :)
Just started my micro loc journey and you are so right about the freedom! I love the freedom of just waking up and going! I wish I would have started sooner.
Great update and 👏 for keeping your parts so neat!!! I’m on month 13 (400 micro twists) and used your starter videos to get precise parting but they’re basically lost at this point so kudos to you! Good luck with school!
Love your updates. Thanks for sharing your journey! Tomorrow 6/28/21 will be my 15 months anniversary. I have been following you since you began. You are such a sweetheart.
Omg! I've been following you for years; I didn't realize you loc'd your hair. I have to go watch your videos; I'm in the process of putting it starter locs right now.
yes do a video with the aloe vera gel, I put my locs back in, sort of micro style but I have forgotten most of what I did when I had them before. great info in this video, ordering that towel for sure, I use a t-shirt now when I wash my hair
Maybe henna made extra runny so it rinses out easy along the hairline and your part will dye the bulbs and follicles. Blended with water/green tea with an immersion handheld blender so its not powdery. You want body art quality that has a fine sift. Ive seen dozens of loc'd and micro loc'd ladies use it to dye grays
Another awesome video! Thanks for the update. I am a HR Manager for a physician’s management group for a health care system in East Texas. If you ever consider moving to Texas I would welcome the opportunity to interview you for a PA position.
Your hair is looking so healthy and beautiful 😍 I really appreciate you sharing your journey. I'd recommend adding a natural preservative to your aloe vera leaf gel to make it last longer
Hanna with or without indigo. Or you could buy "Tints of nature", henna cream, it is already mixed and very gentle on the hair. Just make sure it is the henna and not the regular dye because they make both.😊
Great video as always. You mentioned you did not have a great experience going for a professional retightening, Can you make a video on your experience and what to look for when locking for a loctitian to relighten micro locs?
I'm definitely going to try the aloe vera gel next time I retie. I workout daily so 1-2 weeks after my retie I'm wrapping hair back around the loc. Thanks!
The middle part is cute!! And I will probably be doing that aloe Vera mixture in the meantime in between of me still not reinstalling my micro interlocks yet 😅
She is my niece's doppelganger too! Down to even the hair color. I sent her all QueenEleem's video's when I first discovered her channel. Funny thing is, my niece's eye color looks so very much like the contacts she has on in this video, just darker. Unfortunately she's refused to let me lock her hair and she has such a gorgeous head of natural 4b coils too
I'm both obsessed and a bit sad that I can't have them. It's not appropriate for me and that's that but my gosh they look absolutely magnificent on you and other people. Xxx
You could try a henna similar to the lightest color on your head. Henna sooq does videos on how to henna locs. Don't know if it will cover follicles, but does cover my silver hairs.
Honestly, your hair is beautiful!! 😍😍 & yes, I noticed your hair is like a brownish color. I was wondering if you dyed it, but yea hopefully the follicles fix themself cause I feel you on the not wanting to dye it
i noticed it hasn't gotten longer. your install still looks longer than your 15mo. yes it will thicken quickly, but will take a couple of years to start registering length. i observed this process on someone. from scratch to @ 20". it took years before the hair looked liked it was moving. then it started creeping. now it's a bit longer than yours. so it will take some time, but it will get there. i notice that micro and sister locks do not behave like regular dreads. the science of it i do not understand, but have witnessed regular dreadlocks in operation. they will grow out the door, if you do not cut them. never seen this with micro or sister locks.
Hair is gorgeous and skin is glowing. I'd never noticed your freckles before until you were almost kissing the camera lol! CUTE! Maybe the ugly stage just skipped you? Lol! TFS, and congrats on 15 months.
I love the side flop part look, if you get what I'm saying. Like you wear your locs...gorgeous🥰. Should the hair be twisted/interlocked toward theback or which direction??
Thank you for your videos! I am seriously considering doing my own diy microlocks. My hair is very similar to your thickness & length. You make it look manageable. Thank you.
Lovely update! I'm in the middle of my DIY install right now but haven't reached the front. Would you have done 5/16 if you could do the front again? (I also had the thought to shave my kitchen off)
Your hair looks great and I have the same issue with the follicles 😔 I've been dying my hair cause of it and I don't want to anymore, so if and when you find out how to get rid of them or minimize their appearance please let a sister know lol 🙏🏾
@@QueenEleem I heard of using henna, it's a natural die that can stain the skin, hair/nails a certain colour. I've heard people using this on traditional locs to cover gray hairs ect.
I’m also over the follicles. I’m going to try a cellophane rinse. Maybe if you do a cellophane, pick one that is similar to the lightest color of your hair. Cellophanes only make deposits. They don’t lift color so your darker shades of brown won’t be affected. I haven’t tried it yet. It’s just a theory.
Hey we loved the video! We’re a UA-cam channel trying to promote black content creators and we was wondering if you would like to feature on our channel?what’s your Instagram?
Keep the locs that you cut, in case you ever need to do repairs, you can use your own hair. I saw @ajahinkorea mention that on another video.
Ooh that’s a good tip! Thank you!

Oooh I’ll definitely look into the swirly hair ties thank you! And thank for the kind words 💕
Your hair has gotten so thick! I have traditional locs but I’ve watched your journey since the beginning. They are really flourishing ❤️
Just started my micro loc journey and you are so right about the freedom! I love the freedom of just waking up and going! I wish I would have started sooner.
If only I had started them in high school 😭
Love the way your locs has progressed over time!!
Thank you for following my journey!
Its amazing that you’re keeping us informed and updated with you being in school. Thank you!
Great update and 👏 for keeping your parts so neat!!!

Your hair is thriving. It is beautiful. I'm looking forward to month 15.
Love your updates. Thanks for sharing your journey! Tomorrow 6/28/21 will be my 15 months anniversary. I have been following you since you began. You are such a sweetheart.
Thank you for follow my journey and the kind words!
I love your hair! So freakin thick you inspired me to loc my hair and yes it is very freeing 9th month locanniversary was yesterday!
I ordered the ‘she towel’ last year and you are right! It’s awesome
I’m so glad you like it!
New Subbie!
Congrats on 15 months! Your hair is beautiful. I'm at 2.5 years but still learning new things about my locs all the time!
I followed your Tutorial on my locs but I refuse to retie them myself. I swear it’s the best money on my hair I ever spent.
👏🏽 Beautiful hair, beautiful gal! You've done an amazing job 😍
Beautiful hair. I love your minimalist routine. I love locs, they're so easy for me, compared to my loose hair.
Omg! I've been following you for years; I didn't realize you loc'd your hair. I have to go watch your videos; I'm in the process of putting it starter locs right now.

Queen, u didn't have an "ugly" phase because your hair is Soo darn THICK. 🤪
Your locs look amazing!
Thanks tykara 💕
So beautiful since day 1 and love the fullness of them 😍

You are such a lovely young lady! Thanks for all the helpful insights about your loc journey. Now, I kinda want to loc mine. Hmmm 🤔
I like to put my hair up when it’s damp.. it’s more pliable for me otherwise it’s a struggle
Your hair is beautiful!! I wish I had your thickness! 😍
YOUR HAIR LOOKS FANTASTIC!!! Great video! Thanks for sharing!
Love the hair and like watching the progress. I'm almost a year in and I'm loving my journey!
Dats the method i used to combine my locs from 400plus to 200plus
Best method ever!
Another awesome video! Thanks for the update. I am a HR Manager for a physician’s management group for a health care system in East Texas. If you ever consider moving to Texas I would welcome the opportunity to interview you for a PA position.
Wow thank you so much! I’ll keep you in mind 😊
Rose that is soo sweet of you!🥰
Your hair is gorgeous chile!!!!

She already did that video a while back.
My crush, I always wait for ur update... Nice hair always
Aww thank you kindly 💕
Could you carefully snip off the white bulb at the root of the hair strand while leaving the length of the strand within the loc? Be careful though!
I'm definitely going to try the aloe vera gel next time I retie. I workout daily so 1-2 weeks after my retie I'm wrapping hair back around the loc. Thanks!
Note you don’t even have to use water, i think it lasts longer of you leave it out. Make sure you keep it refrigerated tho!
Yes please show us ur aloe gel creation method
Love the size of your locs & your beautiful 😍
The middle part is cute!! And I will probably be doing that aloe Vera mixture in the meantime in between of me still not reinstalling my micro interlocks yet 😅
If you have not done so already please create a video on how made your aloe vera product. Your hair is amazing!!
Please please please do a video on the aloe vera gel ... thank you in advance 😘
Girl, I was waiting for you (I don't even have locs)
It is crazy but you resemble my niece so much! I need to show her your videos.

I’d like to see a loc combining video, I’ve been combining several of mine but using a different.

I have seen women with sister locs that are long on UA-cam.
Wow wow wow these are absolutely stunning😨😨
I got a silk pillowcase because of you. Thank you. 👍🏾✌🏾❤
3 months in and now can’t wait to get to 15 months! 😩
Love your locs thinking about looking up my natural hair.
That’s awesome! What are your hesitations?
I agree about the follicles! I'm considering dying my hair
You’re looking sooo amazing. Keep on keeping on 😉
Can you do a retightening video showing how you use the gel and retighten?
Yes! Coming soon!
Hair is gorgeous and skin is glowing. I'd never noticed your freckles before until you were almost kissing the camera lol! CUTE! Maybe the ugly stage just skipped you? Lol! TFS, and congrats on 15 months.
Aloe vera gel is moisturizer... Your hair is great.
U r so technical.... I 🥰 it!!! 😂😂😂
I love the side flop part look, if you get what I'm saying. Like you wear your locs...gorgeous🥰. Should the hair be twisted/interlocked toward theback or which direction??
I finish my loc whichever way I want it to lie. Sometime that means I do a 3 or 2 or rotation
Thank you for your videos! I am seriously considering doing my own diy microlocks. My hair is very similar to your thickness & length. You make it look manageable. Thank you.
Love your locs sis🥰
Goals
You love so beautiful, love your locs.
ur like the perfect mix between Jurnee Smollett n Tisha Campbell
That’s funny. Those are the 2 ppl I hear I look most like.
it's the truth. them 2 combined make you lol
Lovely update! I'm in the middle of my DIY install right now but haven't reached the front. Would you have done 5/16 if you could do the front again? (I also had the thought to shave my kitchen off)
Nope I’d do 3/8s to 1/2 all around
@@QueenEleem I gotcha, thanks for answering!
Chaiii show show lol ! Ur hair is the 💥
Have you tried using headbands to put your hair up into a bun?
❤️ your locs
I think the ugly phase applies to those who start out with short hair because I'm 14months in and still no ugly phase
Did you combine any of your locs?
How hot does your hair get?
Place a silk scarf on your pillow
Does the aloe Vera gel leave any unpleasant smell on your hair?
Nope! It smells peppery when using but once it dries the smell is gone
Your hair looks great and I have the same issue with the follicles 😔 I've been dying my hair cause of it and I don't want to anymore, so if and when you find out how to get rid of them or minimize their appearance please let a sister know lol 🙏🏾
Will definitely update if anyone drops me some wisdom!

❤❤
The ugly phase only happens when your hair is super short and not locked. You can’t tell as much with micros even if short I’ve seen super cute ones
I would recommend you talk about fast hair growth fortified shampoo to double hair growth.
❤️❤️❤️
Girl your locks look gorgeous but I rather thicker locks that me I got 36 locks and seven and half months locked
Your hair color looks great against your complexion.
