    Hooray ! I’ve not even watched all this but when you said support black businesses I had to commend you! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 why keep giving money to establishments that know ZERO about us our hair or the products they sell for black people & our hair. There should be black owned companies at the forefront of black hair & beauty as it’s a necessity our life to the others it’s just another way to make A LOT of money of our backs. So yes going forward I too want to support my people. 😊🇬🇧✊🏾 now back to your video 👍🏾😊

    The maker of the EasyLoc tool is a Black owned business. I use her tool when I self-retighten. It's plastic and flexible, and it works well for small locs.

    I just wanna thank you for such an amazing job documenting your process as thoroughly as you did. I too finally took the plunge, I have 15” 4b hair. I tried to make them very small but my surface area is only 180” so I only have about 400 twists/locks but it looks like a lot more.
    I really got a lot of helpful info from your videos, I look forward to your updates. 😊🤙🏽

    Fellow eczema person here 🤚🏽. Part of my eczema is having dealt with dry skin for my entire life so far. And the other thing that has started happening over the recent years is that I get these excessive rashes that pop up on my forearm, wrists and other places -especially once the temperature starts to get hotter. Ugh 😩. I’m slowly trying to change my diet and implement a more natural care lifestyle but if anyone has any tips I would love to know! Thanks!

    • @SuperKiona123
      @SuperKiona123 4 роки тому +3

      I get eczema on my back really bad as well as my chest, especially if I don't properly moisturize to keep my skin from cracking which just increases the dryness and bumps. What I started doing is buying bars of soap that have moisturizing properties. I literally can spray a dry crackly area, rub a little of the soap, and my skin won't break out. For me, I just do my utmost best to stay moisturized at all times as that's what sets my rashes off. I also try to stick with lotions that aren't greasy (or leave a weird film on my skin) but keep my skin from drying out. Hopefully at least one thing that helps me may work for you sib

      using retinol serum works for my seasonal eczema areas (neck area) really fast (about 2-3 days and i can feel it healing and i’ll stop using it and let it heal on its on after that). but when i use it on my face it gives me breakouts around my eyes

    What’s the caution about retightening and “holes in the loc”? I am trying to understand the origin of the holes and what’s necessary to avoid them. Any ideas?

    • @QueenEleem
      @QueenEleem  3 роки тому +3

      A hole happens when you go thru the loc in from the same direction more than once consecutively. All you have to do to avoid them is go they the loc from a different angle each pass.

    Did you end up finding a loctician or you kept self retying? I have a loctician, she reties too tight, doesn’t use water, and when I asked if she could use the plastic universal loc tool if I buy it for her she said that would feel the same as the metal loc tool she uses that gets dragged through this particular loc at my crown because the tool is too big lol so I’m wanting to start DIY reties soon for scalp health. If you hired a loctician did you like the experience?

    • @QueenEleem
      @QueenEleem  5 місяців тому +1

      I went to a loctician near me but she’s pretty new. She helped me do 1/3 of my locs so I’ll probably continue going to her for help but not a full Reti until she gets used to a hook took over a needle tool. And yes I really don’t like the crochet hook tool bc it constantly snags…. So that’s a reason I personally avoid using it… I’d ask ppl in your area with sisterlocks/Microlocs if they’re loctician takes transfers

    I like you best without makeup, natural in every aspect. I don't hate makeup but I dislike the fact that we rely on it to feel confident. One of the worst for me is foundation, putting on foundation is trying to create this way too perfect looking face that doesn't even look human but doll-like. We all have different shades of colors, pimples, scars, etc. Why are we seeking perfection so much while we know it is not humanly attainable? I find this so disturbing that nowadays you see comments like "OMG you're so pretty even without makeup", " you are so beautiful you don't need makeup" , "I am only pretty with makeup"... Seriously? Such a shallow society, we need to change our mindset. We always talk about women emporwement but for a LOT of us we are still slaves to makeup products. What about loving ourselves no matter what we look like and use makeup to enhance our already beautiful features and not trying to look like someone else.
    We are not perfect, and that is the beauty. Let's stop trying to be perfect, everybody has imperfections. We are literally generating insecurities about natural things.
