  • Hey guys, in today's video I'm showing you how I interlock my microlocs. This process usually takes me about 3 days because I don't like to do it in one sitting. I only use oil and water for my products. I hope this video is helpful! Leave your comments down below!

    Honestly looking at the zoomed In picture of your hair I often wonder why we're convinced black hair isn't beautiful, it's so versatile in the texture and density and length, that wooliness of black hair is just 👌👌. I'm trying to lesnr how to retighten my own microlocs and this is helpful, I do prefer the 4 point because it gives me more tightness I don't want the poofiness of normal locs I had locs prior to these microlocs and I definitely love these ones more. Anyway your hair looks very lovely and your skin is glowing 😊😊

      @@KekeJ What's the difference between sisterlocks and microlocks? I love that your locks are curly at the end. I personally would love to retain my curls. Cool video 👍🏾

      @@loovej sister locks use a trademarked tool and grid pattern and only a trained consultant can install sisterlocks and they must be maintained via that system. Micro locks are small interlocks that anybody can do and can be started in many different ways like 2 strand twists or braids or interlocking from the tip to the root. Microlocks cost a fraction of the price of sisterlocks. I have microbraid locs and the braid pattern disappeared in about 8 months and I maintain via the interlocking method like she just showed. I do either 3 or 4 point rotation and don’t put too much pressure on myself lol. People often think I have sisterlocks but I could never spend that much coin on my hair. DIY and get the same look for me.

    You can switch rotations. As locs continue to form and mature they sometimes require more rotations or less. Trust me, I ask my loctitian all the time. She does 4 for the back half of my head and 3 up top because it is softer. Love your locs!!!!

    I’ve had my microlocs for all of 6 months and I love them!! My hair grows stupid fast, at my 3 1/2 month mark I had 4 inches of new growth. I have 500+ locs from mid back free natural hair and it is now about 3 or 4 inches past my neck. While I am very knowledgeable on scalp and hair care, I need to refine my technique with doing my own interlocing. Thank you for the video !

  • @iamdanie_.
    @iamdanie_. 3 роки тому +45

    You get that "Y" once you're interlocking so regardless of how many rotations because that last one it's going through the hair and it's pulling the hair In that direction. Remember when you put through the tool it practically makes a split.

    • @KekeJ
      @KekeJ  3 роки тому +11

      That makes total sense! I feel like it’s more prominent with the two point tho, it wasn’t as visible with the 4 point rotation

      @@KekeJ maybe because the loc at the base is fuller. I've seen it on many people and that's probably the only thing I haven't liked about interlocking (through videos of course).

    With my current second set I'm doing 3 point rotation. I always end each rotation on the down direction so I know with next retie how to start.
    As dense as your hair is I don't think you need to worry about the full effect you want but the 4 or 3 point will create the cylindrical look for each loc in the long run. Your hair looks great! Enjoy your crispy parts.

    My hair has been loc'ed 4 months now. I struggled at first with figuring out what method worked best for my 3c-4a hair. Two months in I figured out plaiting down a little then two strand twisting the rest plus 4 point rotation interlocking at the root works best as my hair unravels and slips easily. It might seem a bit condensed, my locs are small too (not as small as yours). I found after a while with applying rosewater daily they loosen up and now the roots are same size as the rest of the loc so I get my volume and roundness. So now my routine is interlocking at root w/ 4 point & palm rolling the rest. I use Fantasia IC Jamaican Black Castor Oil/ extra dark as well. ❤❤❤ it! Thanks for the vid. Your hair is gorgeous!💕

    Your hair is progressing nicely 😊from my experience the 2pt does end up cylindrical once it shrank up with washing & time, you in baby locs stage & have a long way to go. People say all the time trust the process & it’s a journey- they right. The 3&4pt will give you a tighter compact loc compared to the 2pt, your hair is much thicker than mine so I think you’ll have full hair regardless of which rotation you decide on. Love your content & looking forward to seeing the rest of your journey. 😊🇬🇧

    Do your 4 point if you like how it looks better! I interlocked for 1.5 years and just switched back to palm rolling, because I didn’t like the chain/flat look (my locs are a bit larger). Do what you like early on so that you get the look you want; otherwise it’s always gonna bother you. Your locs are so pretty!

    Check out the micro loc channel @Feneti if you haven’t already. She’s an amazing woman has had diy micro locs 4years she shows you everything from day one install to present day, her channel has helped so many women with micro locs all the progress you may expect problems you may face & how to fix them.She helped me A LOT. Her hair is BEAUTIFUL but she’s about to embark on new journey with them, she is definitely worth checking out. 😉🇬🇧
