I too feel exactly as you said, I feel beautiful when I wake up with locs and I felt that "sitting in the bathtub and crying while detangling" on a whole other level! I keep coming back to the idea of thin locs and I'm actually sectioning off my hair tomorrow to begin-what I'm claiming to be- my final set of locs. I'm sooo sooo sooo excited!
One trick when establishing locs is to assess the perimeter and initiate slightly larger bases because bases “shrink” down 2-3 times their original size in mature stages. This is important for smaller locs because as they lengthen and expand, the roots have a harder job supporting the body of the loc.
Congratulations! I've been following you since the beginning and I'm still so impressed with how well you did with your installation. I also do my reties over several days like you do and it makes the process so easy and achievable. That's what real freedom is. Your hair on your terms.
I've been following your journey since you started and am so happy to watch your progression. I am 10 months in on my loc journey and it's been an uphill battle sometimes. But I really feel like you, I wish I would have loc'd my hair sooner. Thanks for sharing. See you again in a few months.
Happy locaversary! I installed my locs after your tutorial so I’ll be approaching my year-a-versary too. Thank you so much for your tutorial and videos!
Your locs look so beautiful, happy one year! Your channel has really inspired me to do my own in the future. My hair thinned out really bad because of stress last year. When it grows out and gets long again I definitely plan on getting them done!
Thanks for sharing this video! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 Yep!!! Talk about not having to detangle my hair again! That’s the most delightful and happy thing I did for my Coily hair, in locking it! My wash days are an Extreme Delight! It’s so quick and easy I keep saying that’s really it? Unbelievable! I wash twice then use a bit of light oils and THAT’S ITTTT! My hair and I are loving the rest and simple care of locks! I go through my locks every 3 or 4 days at the roots with my fingers to make sure they are separated and not kissing; this takes about 10 minutes tops! I also want to say I installed my Micro Locs Myself from start to finish after only one day of binge watching videos on how to do the 4-way twists to loc the hair! YEP! You can do it yourself if you don’t have the money! You can do it especially if you were used to doing your own 2 or 3 strand Mini Twists in your hair! If I remember I’ll DM you with my pics while installing my Micro Locs! Took me 10 days out of 14: 4 days I had other things to do. Micro Locs, or any Locks is THE BEST THING FOR CURLY, COILY HAIR!!! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
My micro locs are budding in the middle too, I thought something was wrong lol and the ones in the front are my most mature but they are about half the original length, your hair is gorgeous sis
Hi CoCozzz. I am having the same issue like you. I'm 10 months in and my hair is budding in the center on several locs. My loctician said she's never seen anything like it. I have had extreme shrinkage. I started with 9 inches and it drew up badly. They are starting to mature. I don't regret it though.
Thank you for these videos, I locd my hair using braidlocs and your methods for sizing and interlocking and I love them! I even have three in the back that are fully locked at only 6 months out (they are super short in the back middle of my head). You are amazing!
Great video 🤗! I plan on getting thick traditional locs in January. My hair is almost tailbone and it’s hard to find people who started on longer hair😖. So thank you so much for sharing ❤️!
Congrats on 1 year! Your locs have progressed nicely! I do agree the bigger the locs the faster they mature. The locs you showed in the front do seem extremely small. You want the base to be sturdy for lifetime of the locs. Combining some may be a good idea. Over all your locs look great!
Massive follower of ur journey. Happy one year loc anniversary. Used ur sizing tool to establish my locs. I am almost three months locd. Even though its a challenge with slippage and unraveling since i used two strand twists, i am in love with my hair.
Thank you for answering my question. Hair looking great, I feel the way that you feel as well about my hair. I will be a year locd in March and I am loving every loc and my journey. Good to see you smiling again.
Thanks sooo much. I’ve been struggling with the decision to move forward. I decided now is the time. Your hair looks amazing!! I’m excited. I’ll be sure to let you know..
Happy Locaversary! I remember finding you while doing research and waiting for each update. Doesn't seem like a year already. I did start a set (280) that I combined (180), kept for 8 months then took down. I restarted this week hopefully for good. I'll forward some pictures after I take not wearing the same house uniform. 🤭 Thank you for all that you share! Hope school is going well.
I had a similar thing happen to me with a loctician. Her trainee didn't really separate my locks as she interlocked and a bunch of locks got sewn up together. It was fine because as my hair grew out I just snapped them apart. I'm struggling to interlock my own hair. Good lighting, a good mirror, etc. I've only attempted twice. plus I have school and work. I get overwhelmed!
I always forget to separate.... haven’t separated since... July? Wow. But I’m also always playing with my hair... haven’t noticed any conjoined locs yet.
Depending on how your hair grows out of your head one will be slightly tighter, that’s why they do the test locs and see how they mature for a few weeks, if you don’t have a lot of slippage and a tight coil you may want to go with the looser rotation, if you have slippage or loose hair you might want to go with the tighter rotation. Goal is to have a cylindrical non lumpy strong microloc once matured
I too feel exactly as you said, I feel beautiful when I wake up with locs and I felt that "sitting in the bathtub and crying while detangling" on a whole other level! Woot woot! Excited for you!
@@QueenEleem Thank you!!

I do agree I wake up feeling pretty with my micro locs. The wash day process was not it for my mental health.

Hey girl! I love that. My hair, my terms ❤️

I really love your answer to the second question 🥰
You’re hair looks amazing! It doesn’t look like it shrunk much at all

You've been such a great help for my diy journey! Thank you.
And your locs look GORGEOUS
I like how happy you are, you deserve it after all the things that happened last year, Yeiiiii!
Nelly McKenna I agree! Besides her hair looking great, she looks great as well, and so much more happy. It’s good to see!
Thank for all your help! Your hair looks so cute.
Happy Anni!!!! Loving the outcome of your locs so far. You’re a real inspo 🥰

Congratulations on your one year anniversary 🥳🎉
so beautiful! do your eyes change colors??
My eyes are hazel so sometimes
I can't wait to hit a year! Yours look excellent!
Beautiful locs! Happy locaversary!
Yes your hair is really nice.
With your hair having so much shrinkage, did you stretch it before initially installing your locs ? I’m 4c as well and I’m kinda torn as to what to do
Your locs look great💕🙌🏽😭 to do them all yourself, you have so much patience
You are gorgeous!!!! Hair is magnificent!!! You are it girl!! 💗💗
Love your energy and your videos, keep up the good work 👑

Are you still braiding and banding? If you ever decide not to anymore, definitely do a video showing us how you freeform wash please.
Beautiful!!!! Thanks for sharing your journey.❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful hair and thanks for sharing your journey!
I’m so inspired!!!
Happy 1 year! Looking awesome! Can you tell me the name of that salon in Brooklyn so that I can avoid going there?
Happy Locaversary 🌹🌹❤️
Just curious..Why are You not wearing your wedding band today? ☹️
Thanks for the update. They look great 😊
Absolutely beautiful hair!
Your locs are gorgeous.❤️
Happy one year loc anniversary
That's me....I don't like the follicles but I love with them because I love my locs 😂.
How far along are you? Do they ever blend in?
I might have to DIY microlocs
My buds start top to middle too good to know I’m not bunching, beautiful locs
Beautiful locs we just started just subscribed
Magnifique!
So when you wash it w/o the braid and banding and braid it thereafter, when do you separate? Or do you not separate at all?
I always forget to separate.... haven’t separated since... July? Wow. But I’m also always playing with my hair... haven’t noticed any conjoined locs yet.
Whats the difference between a clockwise 4point rotation and an anticlockwise 4point rotation in terms of the overall look of the lock?
Depending on how your hair grows out of your head one will be slightly tighter, that’s why they do the test locs and see how they mature for a few weeks, if you don’t have a lot of slippage and a tight coil you may want to go with the looser rotation, if you have slippage or loose hair you might want to go with the tighter rotation. Will the follicles ever blend in?
My hair locks from the middle too. I didn’t get the whole bud at the ends thing.
you and your hair is beautiful 😍😍😍
Peace. Did you start with two strand twist?
No I started with interlocks
Happy Anni 🥳
Has it been a year already
Beautiful
how many locs do you have?
I have over 650+
Thank you for answering my
