    My husband has a 3500 Ram. DEF problems mostly because he forgot to reload. Counting down the miles until he need to creep along at 5 mph. Went online and bought a new filter. Took it to a garage and they took the old one out and put in the new. Took it to a local Dodge dealer to reset the system. They couldn't do it. He ran out of miles on the way home. Pulled into a neighbor's driveway and decided he could make it home quicker if he drove in REVERSE because it ran at full speed backwards. Fortunately, we live in a very rural area, so it was possible for him to do that. However, he only went a couple of hundred feed backwards and then decided to turn around again. Drove it a few feet at 5 mph, the message changed and in an instant was running at full speed in DRIVE. It reset itself. We would suggest finding an empty parking lot, driving around backward for several hundred feet, turning around and then driving in forward gear. It might have just been a Christmas miracle; but all we know is that it's fixed and running like a top. Who knew?

      Stayed fixed, I was pretty confident when the injector had no continuity that it was definitely the issue.

    Thank you I just got the service def see dealer on Sat and by Monday morning I had the 5 mph after 150m message. I just replaced the def injector ($500 at the dealer) and now the 150 mile countdown is gone and now after driving and starting it up twice the check engine light is gone as well. Thank you so much for the video!

    I recently removed my DEF injector and cleaned the white crystals out with hot water. My 3500 had only 51k on it and was surprised how dirty it was. I also replaced the 10 mm bolts with stainless steel.

    I found out during my Drag link recall service there was an update/recall notice for the Def system. After the Flash . Code is gone and running great . No Charge. I hope This helps.

    Do you fill your DEF up at the pump or fill from the box?
    I attempted to fill from the truck stop DEF pump one time & the whole nozzle was crystallized & nasty as heck - there was no way I was going to stick That in my tank.
    Since the first tank fill up, I’ve used the box - so far no issues within the system.

    • @JouppiOutdoors
      @JouppiOutdoors  7 місяців тому +4

      99% DEF from the box, occasionally from the pump. The failure was electrical so not a result of the type of DEF in this case.

  • @cwilks5592

    I started using the Peak Platinum in my Cummins about 8 months ago. My average between regeneration was in the low 300s. I refill at half tank, as the peak regular has been diluted/replaced by the platinum my miles between regen have been going up. Last time I was 551 between, my last regen was 632, not towing. I’ve been watching it because I was concerned that my Pedal Commander would make it regen more. It hasn’t. On a side note, the pedal commander has made an enormous drivability improvement.

    • @JouppiOutdoors
      @JouppiOutdoors  9 місяців тому +1

    • @SubjectivelyDan
      @SubjectivelyDan 4 місяці тому

      Kinda weird that using a different def changed the miles between regens since the def injector is downstream from the dpf in the tube leading to the scr so shouldn't make any difference. Did you change anything else at the same time?

    • @cwilks5592
      @cwilks5592 4 місяці тому +2

      @@SubjectivelyDan Good point, no other changes at that time. I don’t know what else to attribute it to, but yeah, it doesn’t do anything to the DPF. driving characteristics hadn’t changed. I don’t remember when I started using hotshot EDT, Could that have made any difference.

    • @JouppiOutdoors
