This is not a video to bash the EPA just FYI. It’s more to educate people on the diesel side of things and give my opinion on why I don’t think it is actually helping the environment. Somehow we have to get the word out there in a big way. Not just the RPM act. We can’t rely on one thing. I think a trip to Washington is going to be in order soon.
no thats why ppei is based out of the virgin islands now they are getting everyone. one of the biggest diesel shops in idaho is gone because he was selling them its going after everyone
Yeah, but there are bigger shops that are doing the same as JH an PFI. Diff between JH and a big shop is that a big shop can afford a lawyer. JH can afford to do his homework and make a UA-cam video As it see it, they're picking on little guys hoping that they'll pay. Once they pay they can't build cars If a few little guys pay to make it go away, then they will hit everyone. Everyone Just imagine how much money the US GOVT will make after this happens to everyone. Car building will be done in private, behind closed doors and the cars will only ever be driven "in Mexico" by blurred figures on UA-cam videos Does the EPA even know how much money you guys already contribute to your govt in tax's/registrations etc But yet they want more Greed
Out of every channel posting their take on EPA, you’ve been the only one who was completely transparent and not afraid to speak the truth. I appreciate that man
I commend you for taking the time to break this down for everyone. I own a small delivery service in New York and lease 4 Diesel Clean air certified medium duty delivery trucks. We have been fined numerous times for performing a manual regen while making deliveries in city conditions. New York has deputized any citizen who can video a truck running for 3 or more minutes. They fill out an affidavit and submit the video and they will receive 20% of any fine that is paid. (fines start at $300 and goes up to $1,000-) per incident. It's all about the $$$$$$$$ . Any diesel engine driver knows when the warning light comes on you better regen it before it goes into shut down mode and then its a must to bring into the shop. Personally I own a 2019 Nissan Titan with a 5.0 cummins and love the truck. I tow a 38ft RV around the country and you don't even know its behind the truck. At 51,000 miles my check engine light came on and when I brought it to the dealer they told me the Particulate filter needed to be replaced. I assumed this would be covered under the 100,000 mile drivetrain but NO it's only warranted for 50,000 miles. After back and forth between the dealer and Nissan they finally agreed to front the cost of replacement ($7,250) 22,000 miles later the check engine light comes on again....UGGGH-- This time Nissan would only cover 40% of the cost as the part was only warrantied for 1 year after installation.. So this cost me $3250 out of pocket.. This has nothing to do with the environment!! If we could FOLLOW THE MONEY the picture would be crystal clear. The reast of the world including China and India do things that are way more harmful to the environment they we could ever do. I feel your pain and the hard working tax payers of this country need to take a stand and fight the nonsense laws instated by the corrupt politicians in offiice!!
I commented the same awhile back on this channel and everyone laughed at my comment saying i was wrong and how stupid i was etc. Rpm act is real and so is the EPA. Funniest part is they're after racers yet all week was raceweek aka drag cars driving thousands of miles and 0 fatalities so far and far as i have read no speeders arrested....... Doesn't make sense how we the people allow the government to tell us we can't do this or that if WE pay for it.
It's all a cash grab if they fine you for 21k and you pay it they get their way. If you dont pay it and fight they get mad that you dont obey and raise it up to 180k knowing you probably cant pay. You loose everything and they win... the system is a fucked up game
@@schwags1969 nah its like the fines their giving out to businesses who are staying open during this time their getting fined and when they fight it the courts drop it because they know it goes against law and the fined person is in the right and would win the case.

I just wish one day we can all come together and actually stand up to this shit. Like Joe Rogan said it’s a small amount of people making life hard for the rest of us.
The way they ”settle for less” is just extorting people to confess and not fight them on the issue. Put the fines high enough that people will go out of business and the offer a settlement for a lot less to get a conviction. Highly unethical. This same crap goes on for petty crime around the country.
@@Louzahsol Yup. Plus it's less work for them not to have to go to court. They are just trying to get a quick conviction and a promise never to do it again, which is unethical since I think many who are being pursued by the EPA don't think their interpretation is correct, at least looking at historical precedent .
I am an industrial engineer at one of the bigger manufacturers of these devices, our plant makes 3-5,000 catalytic converters and 250+ DPFs per week, so I'll throw my .02 in here as well. Gasoline engine owners: There is virtually no reason for you to remove your catalyst from your vehicle. We flow test every brick that leaves our plant and if they have more than 1-2% restriction in flow they fail and are crushed, mind you this is with CPSI's far in excess of what your engine can produce. Before you rip me apart, yes, if you start adding turbos and nitrous your flow will eventually exceed what that stock brick can handle, that's why they make racing cats and you should be using them. Remember how people used to kill themselves by letting their car idle in the garage? You cannot do that with a modern car, its impossible. That's how efficient these cats are now and without getting too deep into the chemistry, that should tell you what you are breathing in an open exhaust situation. Diesel guys: Rip that shit off. There is no good solution currently available for you. The EPA has done something it should have never done, which is write policies without a viable market solution. EVERY DPF will eventually get clogged and fail. All of them. You cannot clean them, and shouldnt attempt to. When you 'clean' these things by spraying them with water or air, you are busting the PGM off the substrate, when that happens, shit gets hot QUICK. Throw in a regen cycle and start dumping unburnt fuel into the catalyst and they will literally melt the monolith and plug = bye bye turbskies. The SCR situation is not much better, and JH is absolutely on point when it comes to that fucking DEF fluid. Its a poor solution that passes the buck on to the consumer and its ethically wrong to require it. I want our planet clean, but I want accountability for the MAIN CAUSES like Chinese and Indian manufacturing facilities. When I see parades of National Guard Humvees and people carriers moving down the highway with no emissions whatsoever, and then see our government wrecking American companies like this, frankly we have lost our way.
I applaud your sense of sanity because I believe you have some among these people. But isn't the emission system clogging by capturing the volatiles actually better tham all of it venting to atmosphere at a microscopic level? Also I feel putting emissions on military vehicles is a pretty risky move considering people put their lives on the vehicles being 100% reliable and easy to maintain, anywhere. Not to mention they arent nearly as common as your everyday diesel truck. There was actually a program I thought to make humvees more economical and powerful ended up falling through because it was far too heavy to make the vehicle perform well enough because of course they had to over build it to be hyper reliable. Make no mistake... diesels have improved. They have gotten more expensive and complicated, but their efficiency has improved leaps and bounds. Dont forget trucks twice the size of those in the 90s are getting over double to fuel economy and power. In fact the government still offers tax deductions I thought because they are still seen as an efficient design.
I’ve been trucking for 11 years and almost all of my problems on the road have been emission related. Fuel mileage and reliability are awful. Everything you said, stats, all spot on. Thank you for saying it and being well informed about the issues we’re dealing with.

When you mentioned ships.... They don't run diesel they run heavy fuel oil. Which is worse. They burn alot. They don't buy by the gallon they buy by the ton! They can burn 3 tons of fuel in a day depending on load and sea conditions. I'm a diesel Mechanic that rebuilds the fuel systems for the ships and the by product is nasty stuff!
I don't think I ever saw a cat on a ship or an airplane. Yup, those engines are WAY dirtier than anything on the road. The hypocrisy of the EPA is truly epic.
We call it Bunker fuel but its heavy fuel oil. They run it through something similar to a hot water tank to heat it up. After its heated oil is separated and used for lubrication and whats leftover is burned in the engine. Depending on the vessel's engine, speed there cruising, or load on the vessel burn 40,000 - 60,000 gallons a day. Bunker fuel is in the $300 a ton where as marine grade diesel is in the $650 a ton range. Thats why the run Bunker fuel no brainer for the companies
@@johnbrody738 The EPA can only regulate ships in our waters or maybe if the ship is registered in the USA. I think these large ships are registered in other countries for things like this and taxes.
Got my first diesel, great content, Agree 1000% on all this. after 30 years of Gas engines and never owning a diesel, I was blown away what all goes on these diesels, to the point I don't see how they operate. got a 23 f350, I can't imagine how much better it would run and longer it would last without these emissions. The DEF fluid I purchased crystalized inside the nozzle, which makes me wonder what it does inside the truck. I've learned alot in the last few weeks, and NOT to store the def fluid in the bed of my truck, but it's all so freaking ridiculous. I'm betting if we tested emissions during the regen, we would see there is very little benefit to all this, just the government paving the way for EV and making billions from the people at the same time.
This is starting to sound like a money racket. Middle class in the US is getting slowly eroded, because all I see is this is hurting the little guys. Thank you for the great video man.

As a fleet manager, I whole heartily agree with you, the huge reduction in fuel economy, the massive expense of maintenance, overwhelming downtime due to constant failures is out of control. And when these trucks regen, the fumes are nauseous. We've had drivers taken to the hospital for carbon monoxide poisoning in truck stops from the fumes pulled in thru the climate system. In 2005 I purchased a fleet of Peterbilt conventional road trucks @ $106k ea....today that same truck runs $180k - $200k depending on specs. We now spend on avg 3.8 million a year on DEF, again for these trucks to live in the shop. The famous phrase from the dealer is "It needs a software update and regen" to only have the truck back in the shop a few days later for the same issue. These expenses at the end of the day get passed on to the consumers of products transported. Absolute insanity.
All of this is insane. I'm just so thankful that my LB7 has no emissions, along with my state having no mandatory inspection as of yet. EGR is KILLING these diesels, so sad.

We need to start putting the us vs them mentality behind us stop blaming Republicans or Democrats and stop voting for these parties that are focused on protecting themselves and having our politicians playing to their parties and start playing for the constituents that vote for them. I've been laughing for years now every time I see a carboard box with a plastic jug inside of it sitting on a shelf thousands of miles away from where it was produced. Yep, saving the environment....one carboard box and plastic jug at a time. We also have to think about all the emissions created by making these additional, unnecessary parts. My 1999 F350, 7.3PS got 18-20MPG not towing a trailer. My 03, 05 and 06 6.0 PS got 14MPG at best and cost thousands to keep running. My 99 with less emissions was way cleaner by the simple fact it got more MPGs. We also need to discuss the manufacturers: they didn't fight increased emissions standards as the more parts they put on a vehicle the more they make when they sell a vehicle. In addition, they also knew they would be making more profit on selling parts for repairs and service as the vehicles are now less reliable. It is easy for them to say to the consumer. "sorry there is nothing we can do. The government is making us do this." They should have fought this but they were greedy. In the late 90's the idiots at the EPA did a study that determined a gallon of diesel fuel put out more emissions than a gallon of gasoline and demanded something be done. I think anyone that had ever been around a diesel engine could see that. What the idiots should have done however, was compare the emissions per mile driven (in comparable vehicles/conditions) and they would have seen that modern diesels actually emit fewer emissions. This entire journey to make "cleaner diesels" has been about money and power form day 1!
Instead of tuning out the soot (which we can easily do) we added all of this, at the cost of reliability, fuel economy, down time has increased, and the overall life span of trucks has plummeted. My 98 24v still going strong at 400k, will we see that on modern stuff? No you'll have spent tens of thousands of dollars in emissions related repairs. The laws are insane, we created way more issues than we solved. Which is par for course on a government agency.

It's really hilarious. They added in the DPF to remove DPM aka soot. Despite the fact soot is a very heavy particle and falls on the ground within approximately 50ft of where it is emitted. So we add the DPF to catch the soot, then burn it off with a diesel injector in the exhaust. Yes, burn more fuel to save emissions?!?! However burning the soot off creates excess NOX, which is gaseous and goes straight to the atmosphere. So then we add in a SCR and a DEF injection system to deal with excess NOX. All of this to remove a tiny amount of soot, that literally does not pollute the air. The factory pollution to create all of these items 100% do more damage to the world than just burning diesel as normal. Precisely because once we do all these things, diesels still emit pollution. It's not like these systems eliminate it completely. All of this doesn't even factor in how many of these parts will have to be replaced over lifetime of the vehicle, and the associated pollution to the production of said parts.

Thank you for this video, I just bought my first Diesel truck a 2007.5 Dodge RAM 3500 6.7lL and I am very disappointed in all the trouble I am having with this truck and its emissions. Biggest issue is the Regeneration process of the DPF. Its so inconsistent, sometimes regen lasts 24 miles and other times I have to drive 100 miles and both were at 65mph. I am looking for a way to make this problem go away, and when I see how much a new DPF costs, I am sold on doing deletes and still be money ahead. I have read so many blogs looking for the golden answers. I like the truck, I really like the power this truck has, but I want it to burn efficiently and clear. Sign the RPM act...I did...
I'm a heavy duty diesel tech and factory trained on DPF and DEF systems. I'm also a licensed NJ diesel emissions person. You do make alot of good key points. The frustrations of the systems not working correctly from customers run high. So first why was the EGR valve mandated around 2007 then eventually 2011 all diesels needed to have DEF. It was not because of soot emissions. Heck a 1998 Freightliner with a Detroit 60 series would only have a opacity of 3 or 4 and 20 was the max allowable limits before failing a test. So diesel engines were already clean as far as diesel smoke or opacity. These components were introduced to reduce NOx which is a cancer causing agent. Now this would have been fine IF they worked. However the diesel engine industry was rushed from having hardly any restrictions into heavy pollution controls. It took years before we had reliable cars with pollution standards. Car pollution standards developed over a long time from 1972 til now. Diesel trucks pollution standards didn't start til 2007 but was forced to come up to the same standards in a much shorter time. I always said the diesel engines now are where gas engines were in the 80's with smog pumps and other useless components. Over time the technology got better and gas engine don't use smog pumps. The bad part is that diesel is a much dirtier fuel than gas so at this point the emissions training schools are saying they can't come up with anything else to meet the emissions standards. So you asked why us, easy because the EPA mandates On Road Vehicles always first. They did go after off road too. The farmers here now have John Deere tractors with EGR and SCR systems. Any new locomotives now must meet Tier 4 emissions. All newly manufactured construction equipment must have EGR & SCR. Reefer units lowered their horsepower to get around the emissions standards. Off road is getting mandates just at a much slower rate. So why can't you modify any emissions vehicle with a VIN. Because the government made it illegal to modify any emissions system. If you want to build something either do it from scratch or find a old 70's vehicle. Finally yeah I was just as surprised at what the US Military runs as you were. I had a military person who is a diesel tech in the military show me he was swapping out a Cummins VT903 V-8. Those disappeared from on road trucks 30 years ago. No emissions at all and just exhaust pipes on the manifolds. But in the same token I wouldn't want to be in a war with emissions vehicles if I had to stop and perform a regen while under enemy fire lol. Trust me I'm not for this mess either but if the technology actually worked I don't think it would have been a big deal. The EPA did give out warnings across the board they would crack down on shops making emissions mods and selling components to defeat emissions. They are also going after companies that produce delete kits. Right now as you mentioned gas power is not were it needs to be either in torque. School bus companies frustrated with diesel emissions not working as designed went gas powered. From people I know they have just as many problems with check lights and no power. It's a mess. But I was told at this time there will not be any more future mandates and they would stay the same for diesels because the Gov will push for electric vehicles. Our local trash companies went all natural gas made from landfills. Some days I pull out my hair fixing these diesel emissions trucks. The biggest problem I have seen is idling. If you need to have a pick up that will be on the job site idling alot buy gas power. It's a bad situation all the way around. But I understand your argument of how other countries and machinery don't have the same standards. Like you also said it has been proven where more fuel resources are being use for these mandates creating more emissions yet creating a endless cycle.
It is still all about money and power. And control. We biult deisel engines in the very first few years of combustion engines. That were producing near zero emissions. And in the great quest to make things better they have only muddled it all up. First off deisel emissions will never kill you try licking yourself in a garage with an idling gas car in an hour your dead. You can stay in there all night with a deisel idling and still be alive albeit with a headache and stuff sinuses. But alive. It's just like when Duponts patents ran out on there R 12 all of a sudden it was bad for the environment just politics freinds nothing to it no actual facts just smoke and mirrors you should be tired of it but it makes a living doesn't it. Yup thats what everyone keeps saying. Till there's no were left to give. Then we all still wind up fighting in the end. My point is this has zero credibility. Especially when earth's emissions are 100 times the output of man-made e missions. It's just about corporations that own the economy you and me and your children and they want total control compliance and domination in all things you will not be allowed to walk down the street. We need to stop looking at science that is not there. We are already in way to deep it's time we stop pretending it's all OK. And end this and start over like we did 250 years ago only we do it better this time term limits limits on how many states you can serve in and how many years you can serve. And stop paying the politicians an over the top salary. They should get a meter salary and still work a full time job just as our founding fathers did this corporate government bs is getting old. We must all come togather or we all loose.
Diesel isn't necessarily a dirtier fuel than gasoline. It's more about how the fuel is introduced to the cylinder. GDI engines make just as much soot as a well tuned diesel.
It's all about money follow the money trail. And always remember your representatives all say wait ten minutes people forget. Same with all the climate change situations. It's all about making g money power and control but when will people wake up thankfully we still have a second ammendment however thru lies and deception that's changing scary keep your protection or we all will be on the planet of the apes.
Also you noted Cat went to offroad only and that put pacer in the best place ever to push more astringent emissions. We wi be polluting more trying to keep up demand on the electric side than by using the fossil fuel side and much more harmful effects will acur to the environment. Let's not forget who killed Nicholi Tesla because he was using the energy from the ionosphere. Free unlimited power far all. But the wealthy elites stopped that didn't they. No money in it for them there is a few who learned what he was doing they have killed so many good things that would have this world clean and pristine who's the real enemy people really need to wake up. I like articles though ND I'll biuld my own hydrogen fired ice vehicles for my use only don't ask never tell policy works for but just very few people.
So true I remember when egr came out, like you said it was solely used to meet the nox numbers in 07 08. Their goal was to recirculate exhaust 2x to get a more complete burn but nobody thought about soot plugging intakes. Add dpf (2010 emissions)in it intakes clogged drivers steady pushing throttle more and more every day dpf clogging more and more blowby starts happening its a mess. The days of 400k diesel pick ups are over any truck with 120k slight blowby clogged egr ports will be major problems and I feel sorry for anybody buying used diesels right now. I finally found a f250 7.3 all Gas does what I want im done with personal diesel trucks!
"According to The Essential Daily Briefing: “It has been estimated that just one of these container ships, the length of around six football pitches, can produce the same amount of pollution as 50 million cars. The emissions from 15 of these mega-ships match those from all the cars in the world." Forget everything else, container ships are the worst things ever. You and your car will never match a days worth of running in your lifetime.
Because it is about economic control, not pollution or climate change or the environment. The environment is the excuse used to manipulate the market and increase gov't revenue
Your exactly right JH Diesel, its hurting us with farm tractors also. The problem lies in that we have all stood by, like sheep to the slaughter and let them do this too us.
As an independent shop owner & diesel mechanic for 45 + yrs experience I can remember back in the 80's the EPA use to drive around and offer large sums of cash for a shop to cut the catalytic converter out of the system and replace it with a bypass pipe, then the shop & mechanic are faced with fines & litigation for doing the deed. I also remember a big law suit back in the 70-80's where most of the mechanics sued Allison Detroit for health issues for breathing in diesel exhaust fumes from an engine that was running in the shop. Allison Detroit basically proved in court that the only thing that comes out of the exhaust is soot & sulfur, soot is basically an irritant and sulfur help makes it rain, now there's no sulfur, or low sulfur, along with devices to re-burn exhaust gases/fumes and then add DEF to help it burn and who knows what heath hazards exist the DEF only time will give us the answer. In my opinion the EPA can claim they're saving the planet, but it's only about putting people & businesses in a trick bag to make $$$. Now all the EPA has to do is search the internet looking for people that make a video on how to remove, or delete this or that, or the vehicle owner who's listed there vehicle for sale and they list all the delete's & mod's in the listing, so "if" & "when" the EPA does show up it's kind of difficult to argue the evidence against you so most people settle to pay the fines & penalties that have been reduced. My solution to the situation is I make sure all my diesel powered vehicles & equipment is pre-emissions years that still use mechanical fuel injection systems. Yes my vehicles are not brand new and shinny, however you decide which vehicle turns more heads $20,000 brand new vehicle or an older vehicle that's had $20,000 worth of restoration done to it? Also allot of farmers are going back to restoring older tractors that are pre-emissions to avoid all the headaches & B.S. that comes with the newer equipment , excavation companies are doing similar things also, however the EPA will always have a job of finding companies & people to hem up with violations to make the $$$ because people have to continue to have the brand-new & shiny instead of sticking with the older vehicles & equipment. Ok, Key board Warriors, Haters, & Global Warming Advocates your turn, when you do please show how the EPA has contributed to actually help save the planet buy planting trees, developing clean water & soil ect-ect instead mandating this or that.
No kidding! I went to trade my Compact in for a slightly larger one, saw all the EPA shit on it and decided to keep the old one. It also adds thousands to the costs of the equipment.
If you're out shelling corn at 10PM on a Saturday night, trying to beat the rain, and your DPF plugs up, the computer puts it into limp mode, and the monitor says contact your dealer.
JH Diesel, having gone through these fines and stress myself, want you to know we are with you, if I can help in anyway please feel free to reach back. Lets all band together with SEMA as we push the RPM ACT, incredible good content!
Problem so many think RPM act will let them mod there car and STILL DRIVE IT ON THE STREET WHILE CALLING IT A "RACE CAR". Sorry it doesn't work this way and never will. Other thing people openly on video taking all emissions off and driving car on the streets. What do you think going to happen over time. EPA rules and standards have been on the book for years just they didn't really do anything in tell now. We all knew at some point EPA was going to come down on hard on this just matter of time.
We as a freight company spend more in "emission" repairs than we actually paid for the trucks. We have been screaming for years about this crap! I want to choke the life out of people who think just because they drive an electric car they have gone green because they refuse to think about the pollution of the mines that get the material to make the batteries and the fossil fuels it takes to make the electricity to charge their cars.
@@endofunk2174 The process literally involves pumping hundreds of tons of high-pressure chemicals like surfactants and carcinogenic compounds underground to hydraulically fracture gas pockets. Those chemicals always end up leaching into the water table, which ends up in your drinking water. But whatevs, I guess you think it's normal for your tap water to be flammable and taste like mobile 1. I'm not arguing that the processes are the same, dum dum, I'm saying the end result is, irreparable damage to the environment. Also, you failed to factor in that more and more of electricity in the world is being generated through renewable sources such as solar and wind. And that coal-fired plants have been declining for decades.
Some environmentalists in Washington have actually found out that def is starting to kill some vegetation in areas. But that was made hush hush and never spoken of again.
Accidentally pour some on the ground, it kills whatever’s there and shit won’t grow again. And it’s at a concentrated level in DEF, stronger than ordinary urine.
Yeah no shit man. All the convoluted bullshit the atf stuff down our throats, is just being spread across the board. Its absolutely ridiculous. Its like they genuinely don't want the American people to have any freaking hobbies.
Technically the epa should not be able to make any law or rule. Only Congress and the Executive Branch can do that. These appointed political agencies should all be dismantled.
As a 37 year truck driver I can tell you the federal government has ruined the diesel engine! Caterpillar stopped even making a hwy diesel, they stated "they could no longer build an engine worthy of their name and meet emission standards". And man it sucks to be in a governed truck and stuck behind another truck running the same speed while it's "regen'n" while I have to breath that shit in! I just traded my diesel pickup that I loved for a gas burner. Federal government screws up everything they try to "regulate"!
Mitch Mcconnels wife was the transportation secretary for the U.S. She is 1st generation Chinese. Her parents OWN the largest Chinese shipping company on Planet Earth. Funny how shit works.
Yeppp, like these people come with private jets talking about climate. Ignoring all the obvious signs that it is all a big scam... xD Everything is fine!! xD
Hell yeah. As much as I hate to give the epa a hand up even from the shady shit they do I get what they are supposed to do. But just like the other agencies, they have gone too far.
I have a 2019 f250 6.7 my truck before my dpf fell off got 13.5 mpg tops now I’m getting 19.8 to 22mpg the truck runs cooler has way better power and I’m not wasting money on def
I had a 2003 Kenworth with a pre-egr Cummins, pulling 100,000 lbs. With that truck I got a touch over 7 MPG in Wyoming with hills and mountains. I then had a 2005 Kenworth with the same engine but had EGR. Pulling the same weight I got around 6 mpg. The third truck was a 2011 Kenworth with a paccar engine and all the emissions and def and I was only a little over 5 mpg. Enough said
The 2017 ram 3500 pre delete got 16mpg (partially because the soot clogging the egr, grid heater & other intake parts) Same truck post delete & cleaning gets 20mpg. That's with the hp & torque tuned way up, the rail pressure on the fuel tuned up a lot higher as well so definitely spraying a bit more fuel from the injectors. My point is mainly most people don't know to clean the soot from everything so as the trucks get older they are way less efficient, guys that spend 2k on tuners & other performance parts are far more likely to get higher mpg for longer on their trucks, just from working on them.
@@chash7335 Actually the fine in the USA on VW was 2.8 billion dollars. Some of that was cash some was installation of electric car chargers. Total cost to VW in fines, Penalties, Financial Settlement, and Buybacks was $33.3 Billion.
Thank you for sharing on this, you are right! I agree with you. I'm a electrical contractor with a 2011 Sprinter van, been trying to get to pass emission in CT with all the equipment still there! I want to do the right thing, but the money and hours I have spent, is difficult to justify being in business to make a profit! I also have an older 2005 Freightliner Step Van MB engine, I think just EGR, No DEF. Some problems but not as bad as Sprinter. Also have a 2002 Bluebird bus making into a camper, Cummins 5.9, No probs so far. Just bought a 2011 Freightliner Step Van that has DEF, we'll see how this works out, still working on registering in CT. I still have a 1979 Chev Grumman Step van, No emissions testing-too old, with a Chev gas 350. [It need a lot of work] but it may be worth refurbing than dealing with all this cost of trying to drive a clean veh. I love the idea of fresh air, but you are right, their are a lot of ramifications before you even start on the vehicle. What can we do! God bless!
@@damiansgaragebuilds7663 you know me all too well dontcha moron. It's money it's always about money. Now if you were to bring up guns and gun laws that's about control.
Great video. Very informative of the huge problem with the epa. They never think of all the extra created emissions or problems just clean tail pipe. Carbon footprint for this junk is massive. Keep up the good fight 👊
Control = More $$$ in the politicians pockets and big companies. As everyone has to buy the "OEM" that is not always the best. IE Cost $$$ to much, defective rate is high, not built to last, etc etc, just my thought. Just a Canadian here.
You got it. It's the polluting corporations that pay to play that run the game. If you think the top corporations in the USA don't run the game you are an idiot.
Well the rpm act still doesn't protect someone who drives their modified vehicle on the street....so I say fuck the rpm act, get us something to protect the whole scene.
If they go after the real big environmental criminals it will cost big people big money. So to make people feel good they come after the easiest targets. And we pay the price for it.
"government backed" still means we the tax payers pay for it !! If the gov. continues down this road it will be a felony to work on your personal vehicle.
They’ve been doing it with farm equipment for years. Making it harder and harder to work on your own equipment. I think Nebraska had a lawsuit over it.
Yes, Nebraska lawmaker introduced a bill into their state legislature and like 40, 50 lawyers from Microsoft, Samsung, Apple, John Deere, etc. showed up in full on Lobbiest mode against it. Check it out on Vice (here on YourToob; where i watched it)...many Farmers are bustin out the old Farm All's, Allis Chalmers, Massey Ferguson's instead of the gps guided, heated & A/C cab, boomin tunes new combines OR are obtaining pirated access codes to unlock the new equipments' OBDII equivalent...JUST TO GET THE CODES...wrechin a whole different level of motherfuckery afoot. Actually ALL should watch it. It's where all this basically "non-commonsensical money grab" started a few years ago.
@@jasonaldenhaley1 Ok, I'll take a look at that. I also read up on how the majority of seeds are cultivated and distributed by one company. If a farmer were not to comply with what the government wants/suggests that they could be denied seeds for the year. I don't know how true that is but wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Whole heartedly agree sir!
You don't have to bash the EPA, I will for you.
You need to see if you can go on Tucker Carlson he might like to know about this
Yes. Closed mouths don't get fed
They’re making a point by going after well known people in the community.
no thats why ppei is based out of the virgin islands now they are getting everyone. one of the biggest diesel shops in idaho is gone because he was selling them its going after everyone
Yes they have been look at the diesel Brothers they got hit hard for this same think
Yeah, but there are bigger shops that are doing the same as JH an PFI.
Diff between JH and a big shop is that a big shop can afford a lawyer.
JH can afford to do his homework and make a UA-cam video
As it see it, they're picking on little guys hoping that they'll pay.
Once they pay they can't build cars
If a few little guys pay to make it go away, then they will hit everyone.
Everyone
Just imagine how much money the US GOVT will make after this happens to everyone.
Car building will be done in private, behind closed doors and the cars will only ever be driven "in Mexico" by blurred figures on UA-cam videos
Does the EPA even know how much money you guys already contribute to your govt in tax's/registrations etc
But yet they want more
Greed
100000000% only going after these guys because of youtube fame
Wonder if they’ll go after Gale Banks ?
No bigger name in diesels !
After back and forth between the dealer and Nissan they finally agreed to front the cost of replacement ($7,250)
22,000 miles later the check engine light comes on again....UGGGH-- This time Nissan would only cover 40% of the cost as the part was only warrantied for 1 year after installation..

I bought the 1 Ton truck so I can pull a big camper when my wife and I retire in a year, to travel and see the United States, and I need a dependable truck, so deletions is the path I am going, its my truck, so I will make it do what I need it to do, if the EPA wants to cover the cost of the emissions for the life of the truck, then I would keep it since they are going to maintain it...I have even taken the DPF off and cleaned it out, welded new bungs and put in new OEM heat sensors, checked the differential pressure lines, found one line on top of the engine plugged so I opened it up.
They idle in dock. Lol for days. Ugh. But we won't get to play.

Need to get the farmers and heavy equipment operators on this too. The EPA is killing these guys too.
Why, they gonna register their tractors as race cars? 😂
No kidding! I went to trade my Compact in for a slightly larger one, saw all the EPA shit on it and decided to keep the old one. It also adds thousands to the costs of the equipment.

Enough said
Yea I heard guys say they got better fuel mileage after deleting the truck lol it’s crazy
I drive 2012 Kenworth that gets 4.9 downhill.
The 2017 ram 3500 pre delete got 16mpg (partially because the soot clogging the egr, grid heater & other intake parts)
Same truck post delete & cleaning gets 20mpg.
