This video just helped me make my decision between a 5.9 and a 6.7. Originally was going to get the 5.9 because I didn’t have to delete anything, so I would’ve saved some money. But I after watching this, I’ll buy a 6.7 and delete it with this kit. Thanks brother for the great video.
I’m pretty new to all this and just got the def light on my 6.7cummins just wondering if this is something I can do in sections? First start with deleting def so I can use my truck? I want to do all but not in budget right now
If anyone ever wonders, the 4th Gen DPF weighs right around 41 lbs (one with 100k miles on it and looks clean. The exhaust filter behind it weighs 58 lbs. DEF weighs about 9.1 lbs per gallon. Therefore, deleting a 4th gen just the DPF, exhaust Filter and DEF fluid emptied with a 4" 2 section stainless pipe that replaced the 2 underside parts from the diesel brothers... Without removing the EGR will save only 125 lbs of payload. Just gee wizz stuff. Thanks for the video.
Do you drain the DEF tank after deleting? I imagine it will eventually crystalize and plug up if you don't. What's the best way to drain the tank, lines and injectors to ensure they're clear in the event you need to reconnect everything in the future?
What we need is someone to make a vid on how to delete the stuff in programming via HP tuners or EFI Live. I recently learned how to delete the Skim Module using EFI live so I can start a truck. I still dont know how to tune. I assume disabling the stuff without a tune is possible. Soon we wont be able to buy any of these kits. Already no longer allowed to discuss how to tune any more on the Cummins Forum as the feds are treading the discussion like its porn, drugs, guns, or terroristic nonsense.
I don’t even know how to do that. I buy my tunes from companies that know what they are doing. For the roughly $500 it costs for a company to send you a tune I just do that instead of struggling my way through learning how to tune myself with risking damage to the engine.
@@darkirondiesel For the most part I pay for tunes, but on some trucks like the one with a skim module issue I just want to get it started so I can see what I am working with. As time goes on there will be fewer people who tune till eventually there is no one who will openly say they do for fear of legal troubles. We all need to learn some level of it before it is to late. I am just starting out. I can disable certain modules and adjust limits among a few other things. I still have a long way to go. Newest truck I have is an 06. I use firepunk. Its less than $500 for revisions. I dont like how low he sets the rail pressures. I hack his tune by installing a 220mpa sensor to scale it up.
Looking for this answer as well. Looking to buy a 2018 currently that has already gotten the recall done, not sure if it will be as easy to delete now.
Just completed my truck delete with full kit and EZ Lynk tunes from the Diesel Dudes! Total project took about 8hrs, and went perfect as I followed this video thoroughly! Thanks a ton for putting together such an awesome tutorial! I will be looking to see if you have mercy available, so I can rock a Dark Iron Diesel sticker!
Great instructional Vid! Thanks for doing this. So my EGR Delete kit (via MiniMax) which I've had in my shed for about a year now, came with a new horn (w/o the flapper) to replace the the OE Throttle-Body (& flapper) with. I'm wondering if I should just leave the factory throttle-Body in place and just unplug the throttle sensor to it(?) as you did. What do you think??
I have a 2014 6.7. The hardest thing I’ve done is change water pump, all coolant hoses and thermostat, drive belt, dropped tranny pan and changed filter/fluid. Is this something I can do if I only have this video for a guide?
Great video. You can skip all pipe work. You can pressure wash with 4200 psi the ceramic filters out. How do I know? I did it yesterday trying to clean dpf filter after it caught fire on my 2013. No it was not a bad fire. Still it's a negative for dodges fuck up emissions. They know it's happening. Just an fyi.

Curious as to why they went without sending the efi already loaded. I ordered this kit after watching yoour video. Dude... I feel like I could open my own exhaust and tune shop ONLY using your videos as resources! Tune and delete went smooth as butter! Thanks so much for helping us out, brother. One question though... what do you do about the DEF? Do you drain or remove the tank?
How important is it to tune the pickup before dropping the DPF and EGR? I just did one on a 2017 Ram 6.7 because I also replaced the turbo. The pickup never ran until I was finished with it all. Your videos are great.

Now for the removal of that stud and finding a replacement? Any advice is appreciated.
I finally got this thing done, sheesh, 2 weeks of hell with 2 stuck bolts, I ended up pulling the turbo and exhaust manifold together getting all new studs and nuts and chasing the threads! Got a new problem, after putting everything back together and filling up the coolant, when I drive everything is fine, no leaks but when I stop and shut down the engine I'm dumping coolant near the water pump? Maybe I messed something else up, or hooked something up wrong? Any suggestions are apprciated.

If my 2018 has already been deleted/tuned, do I still have to do the cable change? Or will that already be done, just order the efi live and plug it in and let it tune?
Will this kit also work for the 3500 chassis cabs and will I lose all my EGT sensors?
hi.can the def pressure sensor be mechanically tested
So unplug those 4 sensors and we are good for the egr delete?
Is this kit 100% reversible if need be?
Yeah it would be.
2 things I learned most when tuning a truck ,is ok and yes 😅
