Hello, I am a 16 year old girl who picked up crocheting in the year 2019. I like to make things for the people i care about and for my self. I just finished making the Beanie. It took me about 2 days to work on it bec I took brakes and had other stuff to do. I made it for my friend who loves beanies. It is a birthday gift and I hope she likes it. You were so good at explaining and I love the pattern. Thank You So Much!!! ❤ May God Bless You!!! :D
I'm so glad to hear that kids are still creative besides digitally creative. There is a difference but I can't get my 16 year old into any artsy stuff.
I am making hats for people of Ukraine. This is the best pattern as it is quick and easy. Thanks for the chart for sizes. MaKing for men, women, children, and babies. I am 84 years old and have been crocheting since 5 years old. Thanks again. Grandma Rosie ❤️ 👵
I am a beginner and just finished making my first beanie! I love the way it turned out! The tutorial was very simple and clear, very beginner friendly. I am so pleased with the way it came out, I am going to make another one that will be a different color! Thank you so much for this great pattern for beginners! I feel so happy to have made such a nice project that looks so good!
Love, love, love this pattern!!! So quick and so easy...just made one in minutes!!! (like 30) on a baby one! Turned out so incredibly cute even without the pom looks adorable!!! Thanks so much!! I'll be making several of them!!!
This was my first project as a newbie! The hat came out lovely but the adult large was comically too big for my head! I am definitely going to tackle this again and adjust the sizing. Loved the video tutorial, it was so helpful! Will be back for more! Thank you for this wonderful content and free pattern!! 🥰
The real turning point for me was this video. So close to giving up after so many failed projects!!! Thanks for making a beginner video that makes sense ❤
Thank you for your Easy Breezy Pattern, I will be make several size beanies. I am so grateful for the Size Chart you provided for us. Very important when crocheting for various family members and friends.
Thank you, you are an excellent teacher. I am a beginner and sometimes it is very hard to follow instructions but you made it so easy for me (Beginner) to follow. Thanks again
Hi! I love this pattern, but I have a question and comment: Q: How do I count the rows? I noticed you said that if you end on an odd number, the two ending strings won't match up, but that hasn't been my experience. Do I count the chain as a row? Comment: The written pattern doesn't mention the chain-1 after the final row. It didn't seem right, so I cross-checked with this video. ("Fold hat in half. Working only in the front loops of the row you last worked and the beginning chain, SL ST in each ST from the bottom of the hat to the top.")
Also, how would I adjust this for a super bulky yarn (6)? Will I need more or less rows and stitches? I’m making the adult large for my husband. He has a large head lol. I just started crocheting about 4 months ago so need a bit of help...thanks!
You will need less rows and less stitches if using a thicker yarn. You could try following along with either the adult small or medium and it should turn out more to the size of a large. I would just keep measuring your work as you go and stop when you reach the size you desire. Hope that helps!
Hiya, I'm new to crocheting and would love to do this but it's a little to fast for me. Any chance you could do this but slower? Or recommend any videos with the exact stitch pattern that is slower?
All my children and their partners will get one of theses beautiful beanies when they go back to New Zealand for a birthday at Xmas. Thank you for keeping it simple. So pleased to see the younger crotchet enthusiasts having a go too. Happy hooking everyone!!
Hi there, im using hue and me brand and i was making the teen/adult small size and i ran out of yarn and couldnt do the last row or finishing the beanie, did you have to use another ball of yarn to do one beanie? I am using 6.5 hook

I need helping making that hat that your video is showing I can't get the folding part have looked at this video 5 time I got the all the steps of Crochet it just when I get to the folding part is what I don't get at all can u email me or call me please so you can help me please
Hi Jamie! Are you referring to the part where to fold the rectangular panel over then seam up the side? When you're done working the last row, you'll lay the panel down flat. Then fold it in half so that the last row you worked is on the top. Then working into the front loop of the last row you worked, and also into the beginning chain, you'll slip stitch across to seam the side up.
Hi! I love your tutorials, thank you so much! However, I have a problem... I lost count of my rows and I don’t know how many I have crocheted, some advice? 🥺
When slip stitching the ends together you say to go through the front loop of the last row we did...but it looks like the back loop? Is it the loop farthest from us?
Hi ☺️ does anyone know if I use a 6.00mm hook (half a ml down from the recommended), should I make any adjustments? And should I increase or decrease rows/stitches? I struggling to get my head round it 😂
It should be fine! Once you make your foundation chain, if you think it will be too short, than you can chain more. Once you work your rows, you can work more or less if needed!
Hi! Yes, unless you have a very tight tension you'll want to use a 6.5mm hook, as this will create a tighter stitch and then your beanie won't have large gaps between the stitches. Hope that makes sense! If you'd really prefer to use the large hook, you can, you'll just need to work less stitches and rows so your beanie doesn't turn out too large.
I am making this right now. I love the design. I’m a beginner. I have a question- when joining the short edges with slip stitch, did you mean back post instead of front post? I heard front post but it looks like you’re joining front post. Thank you!
I meant front! I like working in to front loop for the join so when you fold your brim over the join line blends in better with the rest of the beanie.
Why do my rows keep decreasing ???? :( What am I doing wrong here ? 😟 So, I start the first row - then, the second one is lesser than the 1st .. and the third one is lesser than than 2nd ... so .. what I was getting, as a result, was like a triangle, with the first row of crocheting as the base ..... 😟😟😟😟😟........ So, I took all of my work off ...... 😟.... But since I don't know what mistake and I doing ....... I don't know how to start again ???? I sooooo do want to make a beanie 😭
Hi! Sounds like you're skipping a stitch each row. I would guess it's probably the last stitch of the row because that one can sometimes be hard to see. From row 1 on, your stitch count should always be the same so be sure to count your stitches at the end of each row. If you have a hard time seeing the last stitch, mark it with a stitch marker or a piece of yarn so you won't miss it when you do the next row. Hope that helps!
I measured my head and it was 22” so I did the teen/ adult small but it doesn’t go all the way around my head. In fact it only goes half way around my head. Any thoughts!!😢
I love the tutorial but who is the large size even supposed to be for?? I made the adult large for someone with a big head and this thing is HUGE, way to wide for any human to wear….
The large size fits heads that are 23-24" in circumference, which some men and women have, it's also great for those who have thicker hair. It's always best to have the measurement of the persons head to know which size to make!
Depends on how slouchy you want it, but I would try adding around 12 extra stitches. That will add an extra 4" to the length approximately (3 stitches = about 1").
Hello, I love your beanies and I am currently working on the easy breezy ribbed beanie and I want to start on this one as well. I can't tell the difference between both as they both seem to use half double crochet. Is the yarn type what makes both different?
Hi! Yes, they are the same but use different weights of yarn so the number of stitches and rows are different for each size! There is even another video that uses super bulky (6) weight yarn (Easy Breezy Super Chunky Beanie) as well so follow along with whatever video matches the yarn you have so ensure proper sizing!
With the teen adult small, can you tell me what the width should be when laid flat? After the 34 rows. I think I’m quite a tight crocheter so this would be useful 😃
Thanks so much for this great tutorial! So easy to follow. I had a question - if I wanted to use a second color to be the folded rim of the beanie, would I use the second color at the start or at the end of my row count?
You will want to start your chain with the main color then change to the brim color at the end. This is as long as you're ending your beanie on an even numbered row. So odd numbered rows will start with brim and even numbered rows will end on the brim. I have a video on making this beanie two-toned, here is the link if you want to check it out: ua-cam.com/video/_7qGefYzTnk/v-deo.htmlsi=lOa9vhXDJG7nvvzG
Hi, thanks so much for this tutorial! I've made a few hats now because of it! Just wondering though... what's the difference between the chunky beanie and ribbed beanie?
Thank you! Great question! They just use different yarn weights! The Easy Breezy Ribbed Beanie uses medium (4) weight yarn, the Easy Breezy Chunky Beanie uses bulky (5) weight, and I have a Easy Breezy Super Chunky Beanie that uses super bulky (6) weight yarn. So the stitch count and rows needed are a bit different to make up for the different yarn weights
@@TheTurtleTrunk ahhhh I got it! love your tutorials, so informative, so easy to follow especially for a beginner like me. Hoping to learn more! Thank you 😊

She's a wonderful lady. Thank you so much for this pattern!!! I think I might add a pompom too or maybe an applique
I’m not sure but a half double crochet you take the first loop through all three loops but your pulling though one and then grabbing the yard again and going through the rest, only asking because I could be totally wrong please enlighten me! Lol
This is a half double crochet in US terms, you may confusing it with UK terms maybe? A US half double crochet pulls through all 3 loops on your hook, whereas a double crochet pulls through 2, yarn over, pull through 2.
This is great! Do you have the pattern of the ear warmers you are shown wearing when I click on the download link? It is so cute ~ I want to make them for my grand daughters! Thank you!
You probably have a looser tension than I do or your yarn could be thicker than what I used. Luckily, this is an easy fix! You can work any number of rows so just pull out some rows until it fits around your head!
Thank you for the feed back! You are right! I have a looser tension and I got confused on which was the wrap around the head part 😂 (beginner) -ps best tutorial videos ❤

I love your videos and patterns!! They are so much fun. Thank you, thank you. ❤️ Since Lion’s Brand Color Made Easy has been discontinued, can you recommend a good substitute for a 5 Bulky yarn?
Thank you so much Kas! Some other yarns I love for this pattern are Lion Brand Hue + Me and Hobby Lobby's I Love This Chunky. But you can really use any Bulky (5) Weight Yarn!
Thanks for the tutorial. I followed along and just finished mine. I used a super chunky yarn and a 7mm hook and added a pompom too. I love it and cannot wait to wear it tomorrow! Cheers from Australia 🐨
I just completed my beanie and I LOVE IT!!!!! You made it easy to follow and your voice was so soothing and it took me 1 day with all of the interruptions. Awoke video and teacher. I even made the new born for my future Great Grand child. Big Mahalo from Oahu, Hawaii
Thank you so much for the beautiful video, clear and precise instructions. You are one of the best out there and because of that I created a gorgeous beanie in little time(and I'm slow).

So sorry to hear you are going through chemotherapy. Sending you healthy and positive vibes, and wishing you a speedy recovery. Glad you are enjoying the tutorial
Omg! I about throwed this in the trash!!! I’m new to this but i can do the stitch. But mine does not look exactly like yours. I’m not sure if i have the right yarn or not. Bought at hobby lobby. I’m so aggravated right now! 😞
What yarn are you using? If you're new or this is your first beanie, it just takes some practice. If you have uneven tension your stitches could look off, but lot's of times once you finish and sew up the hat, it looks much better. Don't give up! If you have Instagram feel free to message me a photo of your hat and I can see if I can offer any further help
Thank you very much for teach everybody do this beautiful hat I never did one and I didn't want yesterday come perfect like yours thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart
But my pattern idk m a beginner so m confused is there a particular wool u use or like hw do u prevent it from u know start curving as its getting longer that is d stitches decreases pls help
You can use any fiber you’d like! I like using 100% acrylic yarn. There will be no increases or decreases as you work so your piece will be a long rectangle before you close it up. If you’re finding the sides are decreasing, then you’re skipping stitches. Make sure your stitch count in the same after every row

Never stitched, but going way to fast for a beginner
Hello
First chain needs to be even number, then only we get this pattern
Tempted to try this. Never crocheted before. How many stitches would you suggest for a more slouchy version?
Depends on how slouchy you want it, but I would try adding around 12 extra stitches. That will add an extra 4" to the length approximately (3 stitches = about 1").

@@TheTurtleTrunk I tried again with a smaller hook and it worked. I made a hat for my daughter and it’s beautiful. I just finished it. I will make one for myself as well. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much. I cant believe myself that i did it😁.
Anyone know how the chain number changes if I use a 6mm and not a 6.5mm?
I love your videos and patterns!! They are so much fun. Thank you, thank you. ❤️
Since Lion’s Brand Color Made Easy has been discontinued, can you recommend a good substitute for a 5 Bulky yarn?
Thank you so much Kas! Some other yarns I love for this pattern are Lion Brand Hue + Me and Hobby Lobby's I Love This Chunky. But you can really use any Bulky (5) Weight Yarn!
I wondering if I could use this pattern to make a cat ear beanie. Cause this pattern would be perfect for that
Yes! You will just sew up the top different. Instead of cinching the top closed, you will sew if to make the ear shape.

Can you please tell me that how much row you crochet in 1st chain?
Thanks for the tutorial. I followed along and just finished mine. I used a super chunky yarn and a 7mm hook and added a pompom too. I love it and cannot wait to wear it tomorrow! Cheers from Australia 🐨

I just completed my beanie and I LOVE IT!!!!! You made it easy to follow and your voice was so soothing and it took me 1 day with all of the interruptions. Awoke video and teacher. I even made the new born for my future Great Grand child. Big Mahalo from Oahu, Hawaii
So happy you enjoyed the tutorial!
Thanks a lot ,
It is pretty easy n at the same time very chunky
I love the video but the ends are not weaved. They are woven.
Made this beanie for my daughter’s husband …. Great pattern. Simple , easy and worthwhile. Thanks a lot.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you so much for the beautiful video, clear and precise instructions. You are one of the best out there and because of that I created a gorgeous beanie in little time(and I'm slow).
You're welcome! I'm so happy you enjoyed it! Thank you!
I’m making this right now, I started last night. I’m so excited, I took on this hobby to have something to do when I’m at the hospital during chemotherapy. Thank you for sharing
So sorry to hear you are going through chemotherapy. Sending you healthy and positive vibes, and wishing you a speedy recovery. Glad you are enjoying the tutorial
That looks so good you make it seems so easy I'm going to try your tutorial..
You are here...now..🙈
Your hands are Beautiful 🦋🦋🦋
Making for baby so easy can't wait.
Thank you very much for teach everybody do this beautiful hat I never did one and I didn't want yesterday come perfect like yours thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart
So happy you enjoyed the tutorial! Thank you!
Since Color made Easy is discontinued is there a bulky size 5 yarn you’d suggest?
Hi! Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek Chunky would be a great alternative. Loops & Thread Charisma and Hue + Me would also work!
Easy to follow turned out cute- but I made a medium and it’s way too big for anyone.. like to tall same yarn weight same hook size
You probably just have a looser tension than I do. If you wanted to try again you can either use a smaller crochet hook or work less stitches across.

I’m a new subscriber. Thanks for sharing this tutorial ❣️
Hello and welcome! Thanks for being here!
Thank you verymuch 👏
you're welcome!
