This is the best instructions I've watched!!! No one shows measurements only stitch counts. I use chunky yarn so I need measurements not counts...thank you!
This is my first time officially crocheting and I’m so excited. I spent like an hour just figuring out the different stitches and how to count. I hope it turns out well.
You have an incredibly calming voice which was pleasant to listen to. Thank you for taking the time to make this tutorial! Also I learned somethingntoday, I didn't know people used the actual weight of yarn used in a project- it makes things make so much more sense for me!
I just got done with the written pattern for this beanie and it was so east to follow and do. It was my first time making an adult beanie and I love how it turned out ❤️
Just finished making my first beanie with this pattern!! It’s super simple and it’s nice to sit and relax while working on this, it took me about a week of working off and on with it and the most stressful part is sewing everything together at the very end 💀 It’s a really good starter pattern, I’ll definitely be making more hats like this in the future!!
Hi from Ireland I have watched a lot of tutorials for beanies a d I have to say yours is the first I could follow easily.i have crocheted all my life but never did a ribbed beanie .thank you so much I subscribed and look forward to watching all your tutorials.great to see young people doing the craft.💝💝
I used this tutorial to make a beanie for my little stuffed bears, its so cute, I made sure to leave some holes for the ears (by chaining some loose stitches and reattaching it) such a good tutorial
I've just done this and for an absolute beginner this was easy to follow and came together fast. I made it harder for myself by doing a contrasting brim so lots of colour changes and it still was fast to come together. Thanks!
I have been crocheting for years but every time I attempt a beanie it comes out wrong. Your instructions are so clear and easy to follow. I have completed my first beanie and it looks great. Thank you so much for this tutorial x
I just finished making one during my study breaks! easy tut and it came out cute! i had to increase the head size a lil (rows across), so now it fits snugly on my big noggin XD thank you Viv
I just finished this beanie (it’s gonna be a gift for my boyfriend) and it looks great! Might make another one for myself. It did take me a looong time to make it but I guess I just hate doing half double crochets lol and the slip stitches confused me a lot but the result was definitely worth it. Thanks for the tutorial! xx
I just made one of these and it turned out really good! I had to buy another ball of yarn though, but that was probably because I used a size 4.5 hook and a 100% cotton yarn (100 g or 150 m per ball of yarn). 54 rows was still the right size though. Edit: If you want to make some really simple colourwork, you can easily make the folded-up brim a different colour from the rest of the beanie by changing colours at the same position every row. I used a light green for the top of the beanie and a dark green for the brim. I changed to the dark green yarn when there were 16 stitches left in the row, since that resulted in the switch from light to dark yarn being hidden behind the brim :)
I’ve made many beanies using your previous tutorial and everyone loves them! I did not have an issue with the slip stitches and it really makes the top of the hat look nice. I am glad you removed the slip stitches from the brim. It made one like that and omitted that step going forward because it was a bit too snug. I am new to crochet - self taught from UA-cam. You are an excellent teacher and have helped me so much. Thank you for sharing these tutorials and patterns!
i understood everything you said and I am super excited to try and make my first beanie. I just finished my first infinity scarf so I figured I would give a beanie a try. Thank you for making such a well thought out video.
Thank you so much for this video. I've recently taken up crochet and other than some curlicues to "add" to hats, this is the first time I've actually made a hat! It was a lot easier than I expected and your calm explanations were perfect. I shouldn't have chosen chenile to work with though! but that is totally my fault!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I just finished making a black white and grey for my brother and it turned out great!! Your tutorial was also very easy and well explained👍❤
@@MaryberthAseh the yarn I bought the colors were already mixed. But I'm sure you can find tutorials explaining how to mix different color yarn together.
I will definitely make this beanie again, but with a different yarn. I thought that it would look cute with this slightly thicker yarn than I usually use. And holy cow, it is huge 😅 and it’s a gift for someone… so I hope it looks okay. It looks huge on me. But it’s very warm. I hope she likes it, if she doesn’t I may cry lol. It took me a day and a half to make because I ran out of yarn Great tutorial! Very clean!
I have been crocheting for 3 years and always struggled with beanies, thank you so much, i am finally able to crochet beanies without accidentally increasing or decreasing the rows. Your tutorial is super easy to follow along with so thank you so much ❤
Great video, and super clear as well! I had a ball of yarn left over from another project and finished this beanie with ease in just a couple of evenings. Thank you 💘
Great tutorial. Love your voice and how you guide . Please keep on making tutorials. I made my first beanie and it looks great! I'll be making more for sure in every color 💗
Thank you for sharing. This tutorial seems easy to follow, everything is explained well & slow. I don't have much crocheting experience but I will be making this beanie as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend 😆wish me luck!
Thank you so much for this awesome video! ❤ have been wanting to make a beanie that didn’t look bulky at the top and this one definitely helps in achieving that!
this is a great tutorial!! unfortunately i still have some weird bunching and a hole😭 maybe next time I'll go through every other stitch instead of all of them lol
each time you drop I new tutorial, I get so happy! you make it so easy. while I wouldn't classify myself as a beginner anymore, I still come back to your videos for the security my project will turn out each time thanks to the care you put into these videos and patterns.
Such a good tutorial, I was able to build the beanie up no problem. I do have one question since I am approaching the end, is there a reason why it needs to end on an even amount of rows? Tysm
Yes! So that when you slip stitch across, you end at the crown (the end with single crochets). There, you can leave a loose end to sew the top of the beanie
I’m using the wool ease yarn super bulky 6. (9mm hook). Sorry I’m still learning about things. Do you know approx what I would do ? I appreciate you getting back to me so fast!!! I’ll be telling everyone where I learned how to make this beanie from. ❤
Are you using a medium weight yarn? Cause if you're using a different weight yarn then it's going to look different or it could also be your tension. Are your stitches to tight?
When you do the slip stitches to combine the sides, I understand the front loop part but are you also going into the front loop on the other side or the whole stitch? I am so confused on that part!
The other side is the foundation chain we made in the very beginning! We’re just going into the same chains we did before and there’s only one loop to go under
Heyy! Thanks for this video, but ive been trying to do the tutorial but since 9:32 it didn't work, it ended ot being a trapezium, ill try it again incase i did something bad
I wanted to start crocheting , as i finished knitting a scarf and i was looking for something easy but also something i am going to use for winter . Thank you very much for the help !! 🫶
I’ve done multiple beanies at this point and the first and last row (when I try to slip stitch them together) somehow never match up 😩 like one row always has more stitches than the other. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.
I’ve been crocheting for 10 years. Never once have I thought to do the single crochet at the end trick. Genius.
This is the first tutorial I've watched where I could do the project first try with no frogging and very happy with the results!! thank you! :')
What, you’re done already?!! Really happy you found it easy to follow ☺️

Side note your nail color is adorable! Love that it matches the beanie 💚

I did single crochets and slipped stitch in place of the half double and single stitch to create a tighter weave.
I really enjoyed watching you make this hat. Easy to understand. Will definitely try it.

I Enjoyed watching this video. Very helpful.

Yes! So that when you slip stitch across, you end at the crown (the end with single crochets). There, you can leave a loose end to sew the top of the beanie
@@VivCrochets omg thank you!!!
Love this beanie tutorial, thanks!
Omg this is so cute. Thanks for the tutorial :)
I'm trying this it seems easier with the yarn I want to use instead of fighting a magic ring which drives me nuts
Great tutorial! But honestly, I’m not sure if it’s because of the yarn I used or if my head’s just too big, but it turned out a bit small :(
You explain beautifully, I'm doing along with tutorial ❤ thank you 🧶
It took 2 days to make this
Same
Thanks so many videos. Yours helped me a lot😊
Truly inspiring! Thank you!
I love this tutorial. Very clear and understanding!!!! I was wondering would this work with a thicker yarn ?
Yes, should work just fine!
Then also. Does it need to be the 50 chains? Plus does it need to be the 5 single crochets.
You would need to do less of everything to get the same size! In the tutorial and written pattern, I have instructions on how to get the right size
I’m using the wool ease yarn super bulky 6. (9mm hook). Sorry I’m still learning about things. Do you know approx what I would do ? I appreciate you getting back to me so fast!!! I’ll be telling everyone where I learned how to make this beanie from. ❤
Thank you! It’s hard to say; you would have to measure as you go or switch to a medium weight yarn
When I make my 50 chain it’s Sooooo much shorter than what you and others make I’m very confused on why
Are you using a medium weight yarn? Cause if you're using a different weight yarn then it's going to look different or it could also be your tension. Are your stitches to tight?
@@mrinaldhokre I’m not sure it may be my tension but I will check on those
u could be tightening yours OR the yarn you're using is a different width or material..
Yeahhh I needed this thank you viv ❤
When you do the slip stitches to combine the sides, I understand the front loop part but are you also going into the front loop on the other side or the whole stitch? I am so confused on that part!

I made it its awsome
Nice work ❤❤
Heyy! Thanks for this video, but ive been trying to do the tutorial but since 9:32 it didn't work, it ended ot being a trapezium, ill try it again incase i did something bad
Hi! That means that you are missing stitches in each row, most likely the last stitch. I explain it more at 8:55
I would like to do this beanie, how many yarns do I need for this one? Hope you have a good day
Thank you, you too! I used just one skein of yarn, under 100g
I wanted to start crocheting , as i finished knitting a scarf and i was looking for something easy but also something i am going to use for winter . Thank you very much for the help !! 🫶
Enjoyable to watch.
I love that you are wearing a crochet ring but not using it. I do the same thing. It’s my support ring at this point
Beautiful & interesting 🙏
I’ve done multiple beanies at this point and the first and last row (when I try to slip stitch them together) somehow never match up 😩 like one row always has more stitches than the other. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.
Is the wool double knit
Heyy so I had a doubt
Like how do you wash your crochet stuff??
Your yarn label should have instructions! But hand wash and lay flat to dry is usually safe!
Oh okk thank you very muchh💮
Can i use 4ply milk cotton?
yes!
Mine doesn’t stretch, do you know what might be causing this? The only difference is that I used a 3.5mm hook and thinner yarn
Your stitches are probably too tight because of your small hook and yarn
For the rows where you skip the instructions is it only in the back loops?
Yes, every row is done in the back loop only!
Wonderful
Hi how long does it take to crochet this?
It took me an hour or two! If you use a thicker yarn, it’ll be faster
