Hey, DM! I know this is a little off topic, but how’s your van coming along? I remember you were quite interested in getting that “Truly” mobile gaming idea going! Where’s it at these days? 😁
Just such a nice guy. I started watching you when D4 came out and you were talking about the druid changes. I just like how genuine you are and how the conversation flows naturally. Keep it up, mate, i'll still be watching whatever you put out. 👍✌
I found you from your guardian tales videos, loved them and your genuine personality. Always look forward to your videos man, you're a breath of positivity in these dark times.
“Stranger danger” is hilarious, I’m so glad I found your channel fam, honestly it sounds like we have pretty similar entry points into gaming, I remember playing Lego games and then borderlands with my dad/brother and it was super formative for me
Found you on RAID, and then came back across your content for Diablo 4 and so refreshing. Your gaming journey very much a familiar tale, started with Miniclip, then onto Runescape, then onto WoW and Guild Wars and then the full circle back round to Runescape funny how everything works out and how a generation of gamers all started at the same points! :D
Nice video man, I’d watch you play any game that I find interesting so can’t wait for you to go variety however I do love the Diablo content too :) Keep up the good work you’re smashing it mate. Love from England!
The oven timer is what my brother and me did 😂 We would run as quiet as we could to the kitchen to add a minute or two while my mom wasn’t paying attention. Good times lol
I was in the stream half listening to this while packing. Was planning to rewatch it so I'm glad you put that section here! You made a short about how bad it can get if YT fails and now that you've mentioned you were married, I wonder if all of what you said there is closer to home than I initially thought. Keep it up! You inspire me to be more positive in my life.
I'm one of the many who recently found you through Asmon. Just a couple seconds into watching you for the first time, I got the feeling "he's one of us," and that was that - I've enjoyed the Remnant, D4, touching grass, and Baldur's Gate stuff, and I imagine I'd be able to watch you stream anything. I feel kind of lucky that my own channel (under an entirely different handle) is a super small but pretty durable niche (that has nothing to do with entertainment), so I can more or less fully exempt myself from really learning all the YT algorithm stuff. Had NO clue you were married at one point though. [The More You Know rainbow]
You seem very honest, transparent, organized and likeable. Nice video's man, I enjoy hearing you talk about stuff, I feel invested in what you have to say and for sure will be coming by more often to your video's. Have a good one!
Decent was amazing. The team made a similar game called overload I think. It is no longer available and I can’t believe that another game like that hasn’t caught on. Definitely a unique game.
I wish you would upload your chat the same way asmon does, it’s interesting seeing how many people had these same experiences or even played on these older systems and also remember the games of old
I also got into gaming with my dad. The first game I remember was a game were played as gorillas threwing bananas at each other. Way later when I was a teenage girl he even played Lineage II with me. Nobody online would ever believe me, that I was actually a girl and the dwarf next to me was my dad. But I remember the time very fondly. Now I’m 38 and I enjoy playing with my 7 year old son. I really hope we‘ll still play together aswell when he’s older!
I loved your story. I first came across you when I was playing SWGOH. I think The Grand Admiral had you on one of his videos. Or he referenced and linked to your channel. It makes me smile to hear MobileGamer helped you out. Such a solid guy. He recently released a pretty personal video opening up about his life story. Much respect.
Brother led me to ya and after watching and the positive vibes and attitude sold me. Have a great time watching you and always end up laughing which is much needed now adays.
Bro I appreciate you so much! You just say it how it is and are very informative. I have always wondered how things worked in the youtube world. People dont talk about the details of how things work on youtube and just how real you are is one of the many reasons I love watching and listening to you. Keep on doing your thing man! I have alot of respect for you and love watching your videos.
Man descent was my favorite game back then. I was like 15 when it came out and it was the only game my father played with me aside from tecmo Superbowl like a decade earlier. Great game I was pretty upset when the cancelled the console version of the new game. I wanted to play it on the TV with my kids but alas, it never happened. I still have ps1s, I should find a copy and force them to play it so I can relive memories.
When I was like 4 and my brother was 3, we used to play Mortal Kombat. We had Nintendo 64, but I don't remember whether we really played it. We mostly started on Sega Genesis. I don't remember ever being 'scared' of anything in regards to gaming back then. Except maybe the game breaking for whatever reason or having to take out a cartridge and blow on it lol. My little brother used to be really good at memorizing and performing fatalities, while I always sucked at it. Then later on, when I was like 6 or 7, I started playing Diablo 2, Starcraft, Warcraft et cetera. Back then, we didn't really have the internet, so tiny naked pixel demons seemed pretty awesome. My mother freaked out when she saw me trying to draw them in more detail though lmfao.
Makes me really happy to know you’re a huge Star Wars fans. You’re a really wholesome awesome amazing dude and strike me as the kind to be chill to people who like Star Wars stuff you don’t like as much and my god the fandom needs more of that
I had a very similar childhood in regards to gaming. My dad bought me a ps1 when that first came out. I was 5 at the time, and he bought himself alien trilogy and metal gear solid. Those two games were my entry to the gaming world. I’m 33 and still think of those memories today when I’m gaming. Sadly, we fell out and haven’t spoken for over 15 years. My 3 kids all play games. My 13 and 11 year old boys absolute love it and my 4 year old loves playing Mario kart. It’s great. I’ve recent gotten my wife into gaming more since Diablo 3. She got her own Xbox now and we play Diablo 4 every day.
Double commenting, really loved this vid, already liked your personality and character, yet after hearing how clearly and concisely and generously you dropped all those gems and info at the end really solidified me as a fan, thanks
I remember watching your dad play Descent and Myst on that PC! I remember playing Street Fighter with you at the apartment and you owning me with Blanca. Another game I remember your dad playing was an RPG called Day of the Tentacle. Of course I remember the MSN Gaming Zone AOE2 days with your brother and the rest of WFC clan. And I remember your roadtrip across the country and playing PSO on the GameCube with you in our living room. Watching your streams, I see a lot of your dad's influence. Always hilarious. You should tell some of your dad's craziness like the time they almost died on the snowmobile trip with grandpa. Amazing video for me as a trip down memory lane--so cool for your community to hear your origin story.
Hearing your story was refreshing. Myself I was around for the very first internet modems and can remember the Dial up tone on the 14.4 modems and connecting LAN with friends from school to play duke nukem and then I found Diablo 1 on a CD in my pc gamer Magazine. God i miss the times.
My first entry into real gaming was sneaking onto my brothers old ass Packard Bell and playing A-10 tank killer back in 1998 😂. Made me think about the good times, thanks.
Dynamix was a great company. Obviously red baron was the big one but F14 tomcat, A10 tank killer and Abrams battle tank were all enjoyable. Betrayal at krondor was probably the last of their games I really liked.
Man, I freaking love you haha :p We've had so many similar experiences growing up and being a part of games, it 's just really cool dude. My very first gaming experience was when my mom owned a Super Nintendo, and would play a pool game, I think it was super billiards or something, she also had The Lion King, and that was fun to watch, after that we started living with my dad after they had divorced, and he had bought us a Sega Genesis, at least I think he did, I don't really remember where it came from, maybe it came from my mom, but we had Aladdin, Sonic The Hedgehog, Sub Terrania, MERCS, Streets of Rage 2, oh man, it was awesome, I spent sooo many years of my young kid life playing on that system until for Christmas my dad had bought 3 Play station systems, one for the living room, one for me, and one for my brother, it was the best time of my life, I got to play Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 9, The Legend of Dragoon, Chrono Cross, Twsited Metal, Crash Bash, Crash Bandicoot, I mean, there were some great games for that system. Then I started getting into computer games, the first computer game I ever played was The Sims, me and my brother loved that game, he actually really loves The Sims games, that's like one of his absolute favorite games ever, but then one of my high school friends got me into RuneScape, and I've been playing this game since 2006, almost 20 years, but not quite, after that I was pretty much hooked onto computers and I also got introduced to Diablo and some others as well.
I remember C&C red alert when my brother got me into Pc gaming. When I was a kid I had 3 older brothers. The oldest brother would try to finish a level. we all took turns and every time it came to my turn my oldest brother would take the controller and say I can pass this level. so my turn to play kept getting skipped. as a adult no one is taking my game from me lol . I started gaming in the Atari years
Bro. MINICLIP!!!! My favorite school past time lmao I remember when we finally upgraded from aol to cox and I could play Xbox live!!! Duuude that was the most mind blowing shit!!!
Descent was so badass. The way you describe it with square graphics makes me sad. I was already old then and remember it being so much better than the other games we were playing at the time.
Good stuff. We got an intellivison and a commodore 128. Beam runner, Bard's Tale, Ultima, Phantasy, MULE. My neighbors had the atari, Nintendo. Stand ups: Super Zaxxon, Defender, Asteroids. Great times growing up in the 80's.
Age of Emps 2 is the goat. Its come to steam and xbox and I Still play it with my boys on Thursdays. Takes me back to the late 90's and simpler, happier times.
My first game was Star Wars “Dark forces” which is basically doom but Star Wars. Blew my mind as a little kid and could only play when my dad watched on his work computer 🤣
bro I have never played a single Diablo game before but I am captivated by your videos & story telling. Coincidentally, I'm also a long curly ginger haired dude too lmao
Dude you should just upload a bunch of videos with stories about Alaska. I enjoy hearing people's unique perspectives from places ive never been! Thanks
Really enjoyed listening to your story about your formative years with you and your brother. Me and my bro had the same dynamic, although he was 10 years older than me. Does he still game? Maybe you guys could play some D4 and stream that. Also kudos for defeating the Butcher while still continuing your story!
My first memory of my dad and gaming was me coming home from riding my bike, and seeing my dad walking out the house with our ps1 in his hands to go sell it for crack lol. Oh the good ole days
Great story dude, your experience sounds exactly like mine ... but I would have been your older brother, and I loved / lived for WOW !!! 🙂 ... which I quit when BFA came out ...
My first game was a commodore64 game(yes I’m old), that came in a code book. You had to type all of the code in and then you could play the game. Spent part of the summer typing to play a side scroller that was a truck that you jumped over logs. 😂
I remember when I was about 9 and my friend rang our house phone to tell me that he had gotten past a part on Simon The Sorcerer (a point and click game for the Amiga) that we had been stuck on and I left the house and ran to his to see because I was so excited.
you forgot to mention when you were covering SWGOH you were one of the first to discover a (at the time) broken nightsister strategy (I forget what the strategy was now) but that's when you really started to pop off as a content creator on YT.
Your dad sounds awesome--what year was he born? I'm a little late getting into fatherhood (my son was born last year, I was born 1980), so I'm an established gamer from a generation of gaming acceptance, ready to pass on the love of gaming to my son, too. Your dad sounds like my generation, or a little before me.
Super Metroid is still one of the greatest games I've played. I'm old, our parents had a tv with games built in in the late 70s so I was born into it. I also miss my long ginger locks, never cut your hair.
maplestory! holy sht, didn't expect that. When you were reflecting on your childhood before that i also did that and i was thinking few minutes before that maplestory was the first game for me i picked myself (cuz i also had to share pc with my brother). I still come back to it
found you via d4/asmongold but im sticking around for the variety youtube stuff, would twitch but different time zones. Great vids baldurs rp was hilarious
I don’t exactly remember my first game. Some of the first games I remember playing were Medal of Honor, Spider-Man 2, Jet Set Radio Future and the racing game that came on the back of it, ATV 2 Quad Power Racing, CoD 3 and Pokémon Yellow

The story of the Legend DM starts here!
Just such a nice guy. I started watching you when D4 came out and you were talking about the druid changes. I just like how genuine you are and how the conversation flows naturally.
Keep it up, mate, i'll still be watching whatever you put out. 👍✌
I have some crazy childhood stories too, but having these with your dad must be pretty cool man, thanks for sharing
What a wholesome story about you getting into gaming. Love it.
DUDE Maple Story!!! Loved to hear the background man, great to see things have panned out for you.
I found you from your guardian tales videos, loved them and your genuine personality. Always look forward to your videos man, you're a breath of positivity in these dark times.

a really good talker. like seriously. explaining things, no blabla, just straight to the point. storytelling also spot on.

You are great at story telling. I learned so much lore today; I am glad you are popping off lately! Great to watch the journey

"he's one of us" 😂
hearing "Carmen San Diego" alone brought back some core memories. lol. Love your content, keep it up and you will be as big as you want to be.
You seem very honest, transparent, organized and likeable. Nice video's man, I enjoy hearing you talk about stuff, I feel invested in what you have to say and for sure will be coming by more often to your video's. Have a good one!
Descent was a game ahead of its time.. loved that game and Descent 2. For me that was the golden era of gaming, the mid 90's to mid 2000's
Decent was amazing. The team made a similar game called overload I think. It is no longer available and I can’t believe that another game like that hasn’t caught on. Definitely a unique game.

Thanks for the wander down a hugely fun memory lane! The early 2000s was a great Era of games! You forgot Star Wars Jedi Academy tho

I love these longer vids. Great to listen to while I grind or drive 👌
That 20 minutes story brings back memories. Ours was an hour each but still not enough time
the thing I dislike about this content is there isnt enough, keep it up, love the stories
Lmao found your channel today and this dropped 1 hour ago love ur Alaska horror stories
DM took me on a memory lane, i had a similar background on my gaming journey, started on the classic castlevania and tetris
My first entry into real gaming was sneaking onto my brothers old ass Packard Bell and playing A-10 tank killer back in 1998 😂. Made me think about the good times, thanks.

Great story man. One of my fav videos of yours. My starting impactful games were Zork, Ultima 4, and Bards Tail…
Pretty cool background story, thanks for uploading!

Descent was so badass. The way you describe it with square graphics makes me sad. I was already old then and remember it being so much better than the other games we were playing at the time.
Fairly new to your content..it's really cool to hear about your life!

I really felt those good memories. Made me smile.

Really enjoy your story content Micro!
Great story dude, your experience sounds exactly like mine ... but I would have been your older brother, and I loved / lived for WOW !!! 🙂 ... which I quit when BFA came out ...
Decent was one of the first 3d games to use 6 degrees of movement. it was soo good!
My first game was Tekken 2.
My first game was a commodore64 game(yes I’m old), that came in a code book. You had to type all of the code in and then you could play the game. Spent part of the summer typing to play a side scroller that was a truck that you jumped over logs. 😂
Thanks for the story mate, it was a really pleasant half hour, such a nice change from all the toxic spite out there.
I remember when I was about 9 and my friend rang our house phone to tell me that he had gotten past a part on Simon The Sorcerer (a point and click game for the Amiga) that we had been stuck on and I left the house and ran to his to see because I was so excited.
Bruh your alaska video got me hooked. You seem very cool.
I like the stories you tell interesting.
Awesome story man really cool and the game omni congrats on the new sponser
you forgot to mention when you were covering SWGOH you were one of the first to discover a (at the time) broken nightsister strategy (I forget what the strategy was now) but that's when you really started to pop off as a content creator on YT.
Diablo 2 on dial up internet was my first big kid game!
The story with mother brain reminded me when I was 5-6 yers old and got a VHS of Fist of The North Star from my grandparents :D
maplestory! holy sht, didn't expect that. When you were reflecting on your childhood before that i also did that and i was thinking few minutes before that maplestory was the first game for me i picked myself (cuz i also had to share pc with my brother). I still come back to it
Nice to hear that you love Star wars too. Did you ever play the Star wars ccg Card Game from decipher?
Super Metroid was the game that got me into gaming
My biggest takeaway is I need to make videos telling people to get more money if they want to be rich 😂
Lol great vid!
I remember Descent from a sample software pack. Loved that game
It's great to be in the Empire today
found you via d4/asmongold but im sticking around for the variety youtube stuff, would twitch but different time zones. Great vids baldurs rp was hilarious
Descent was brutal as a kid lol
I don’t exactly remember my first game. Some of the first games I remember playing were Medal of Honor, Spider-Man 2, Jet Set Radio Future and the racing game that came on the back of it, ATV 2 Quad Power Racing, CoD 3 and Pokémon Yellow
my dad booked a week off work to play super metroid! We have the same origin story !
Carmen Sandiego was dope!. used to watch the tv show.
Loving the story time content so much
Just came across your channel, love it! Would be sweet to see some OSRS content :D
