People should know that comparing fighter aircraft with Wikipedia stats is terribly incorrect. It neglects all the software and electronic capabilities of the aircraft.
J10C wiki says it weights around 9.5 tons while Matrix reported it as 8.85 ton, doesn't look like he's relying just on Wikipedia. Naturally these figures are to be taken with a huge bucket of salt anyway cz even MK2 might have different specs which is closer to home.
@@averagestudent5223 I can't say that 9,5 tons data is correct or not ,but 8.85 seems to be an outdated data from original J-10A series. As a major upgrade model, J-10C should be significantly heavier due to lots of additional sub systems installed.
Exact weight, thrust, and fuel consumption values are never known. And these values vary depending altitude, payload, and even weather. Ultimately if a Cessna 140 could deliver a super sonic cruise missle, that would be good enough.

Absolutely Tejas program has taken of in serious program in last 5 years until which testing for IOC and FOC. See Airforce should trust this program and move fwd. Which surely they are doing but requires to churn out good production numbers at least 15 aircrafts per year. HAL should make sure to involve more pvt players and only then you will even be able to seek confidence from new buyers.

J10C doesn't use AL31 engine anymore. Newer J10 now use WS10B engine that has a maximum thrust of 145kn which gives J10C higher Thrust to Weight ratio than F16.
Funny China claims their engines with such high thrust, yet the J20 can't supercruise. Makes you wonder why?🤔
@@direwolf7491 J20 like many other Chinese fighters used AL31 until recently and just now are being fitted with WS10 engines but in any case you need alot more than just raw power to be able to supercruise. The original engine that's intended for J20 is not WS10 but WS15 which is in its testing phase. WS10 engines are a stop gap for J20 till WS15 are in production. Only then J20 will be able to super cruise. WS15 are designed for supercruise. WS10 are not.

Re Stormsquad’s post on CFTs. There is no change in the F-16’s internal fuel carrying capacity of 3,200 Kg/4,000L. CFTs are over-the-wing laterally mounted tanks that blend with the aerodynamic spinal config of the aircraft. Since nothing can be suspended from them as load, they are rather light. A set of two CFTs that provide a total of 1360 Kg (1,700L) or of additional fuel for the F-16 weighs 420 Kg. The extra fuel can significantly extend mission range, time on station or time engaged in combat. This range/combat presence enhancement is very valuable for countries that do not have tankers for aerial refuelling. There are certain penalties, however. Drag and RCS both increase. While 9G turns can still be executed given its monstrous engine, minimum radius turns are affected (~6G, 350-75 kts). Thus the ac will have to operate in a predictable oblique mode. No dogfight will see two ac pulling 9G each, except in transient maneuvres. Low speed high alpha maneuvres were banned earlier.
The overall weight of the aircraft increases by 1,800 Kg; to stay within max T/O limit, ordnance/fuel tank weight has to be reduced by 1,800 Kg. CFTs increase the F-16's payload flexibility. For medium range air- to-surface missions, CFTs obviate wing tanks. This allows an increase in the F-16's primary weapon capacity and flying with two, rather than one, types of large weapons in a balanced configuration. An AAR tanker may change mission dynamics radically.

An aircrafts capability strongly depends on three factors and we always ignore it or we we have very little knowledge about it...They are
1) The radar range and type of the fighter aircraft.
2)The Electronic counter measure systems and ECCMS.
3) The range and number of Air to air missiles it's carrying. Its obvious who shoots and kills first is the winner. So we need a very strong AESA radar, A package of EW systems and Astra mk2 (160 km) and MK3(350km) missiles in Tejas mk2.Otherwise it will be failure.

If Tejas mk2 get F414 EPE engine having thrust between 116-120 KN, Tejas mk2 can become more deadlier or atleast equal of F 16 block 70/72 bcoz and J10C bcoz of having smaller size and weight than both of them.

J10C is now using Chinese WS10B engine which has a thrust of 137KN and after using this engine the thrust to weight ratio is more then 1 will be equal to or may be better then F16 block 70
From last 1.5 yrs all new J10C are using Chinese domestic WS10B or C version engines not the Russian engines and J10C RCS is also around 1m2 similar to Rafale

I do think the F-16's internal fuel carrying capacity should be more than that since we are talking about the Block 70 here and you should also factor in the CFTs. Also the range needs to be more because of CFTs
EDIT: Also I believe when coming to engines, the J-10C has WS-10 or 15 engines
American engines have more efficiency so less fuel can provide same range as J10C

it will be a shame if MK2 is a poor aircraft compared to 40 year old F16. Problem with DRDO is they are obsessed with technology rather than its usefulness. Akash missile is a good e.g. where obsession with using a ramjet resulted in a heavy slow flying missile with only 20 km range. the same errors are made in the mk2 program. instead of building a fighter that can exceed performance of other single engine jets , these DRDO idiots are obsessed over the smallest lightest fighter. please privatize the defense industry because DRDO is clearly mismanaged or incompetent
