But in a delta wing aircraft, the whole way of dogfight is changed. Eg. Mirage is a very potent dogfighter even with its lower sust turn rate.

Tejas:4 JF17:4 Both planes are evenly matched in a short duration of skirmish. But JF17 can be more useful because of its better range and payload capacity.
The thing is we have our own engineer's design and develop it... We can have much better future development of the plane and have much control over its variant we want to produce. The experience gained from it is invaluable.
Ignoring the comment section..... JF 17 has become a good fighter in all these years, of course not because of Pakistan but because of China...... A major update drdo can do to mk1A before signing the contract is to update mk1A with similar cockpit which is planned for mk2....That can truly make mk1A a better platform!
Not really. Tejas mk1a is better in some aspects but there are few impressive features of jf17 too. Specially pl15 is deadly against india's dwindling fleet of awacs. India donot have any awacs killer missile operational right now. So jf17 indeed have some advantage.
Finally something educated i saw from Indian social media.. Few things i want to address without praising or decreasing anything. Rd93 engine definitely never can be better than American technology or performance but according to my knowledge with very reliable source rd93 engine tested till 6000 hours without any issue yes its half of the life as compared to f16 engine we are using but it's also 3 times cheaper to maintain them also its 100% maintaining with in Pakistan so thats an plus point my 2nd point is about jamming pod chinese are underestimated interms of jamming technology they are far better in it. And for Tejas MK1A it actually seems alot better than tejas because it had too much problems thats why it got delayed for decades .
Seems that block 3 is better than Tejas Mk1A. Large area display cockpit is a big advantage. They have slight edge in power plant in terms of yield. They have longer range missile P15. Also their IRST will be integrated with the plane and not be pod based, again making theirs score over ours. Our radar seems to be better though. This is sad that we could not match our timelines. Had we done that, today we would be comparing JF Block3 with Tejas Mk2(MWF) and clearly the later would score over the former. Our patriotism aside, seems that they have a better machine than ours overall.

Flawed comparison - there are 100s of actual flying J17. There are 100s of plans of Tejas Mk1a which may eventually be ready in significant numbers only by 2030 and obsolete by then

My understanding is bvr missile will be effective based on the radar range. Even though pl 15 has 200+ distance, as Jf 17 radar can detect object only at 170 km, then pl 15 could be used only when object is identified at that distance. Correct me if I'm wrong

Not really. Tejas mk1a is better in some aspects but there are few impressive features of jf17 too. Specially pl15 is deadly against india's dwindling fleet of awacs. India donot have any awacs killer missile operational right now. So jf17 indeed have some advantage.

Few things i want to address without praising or decreasing anything.
Rd93 engine definitely never can be better than American technology or performance but according to my knowledge with very reliable source rd93 engine tested till 6000 hours without any issue yes its half of the life as compared to f16 engine we are using but it's also 3 times cheaper to maintain them also its 100% maintaining with in Pakistan so thats an plus point my 2nd point is about jamming pod chinese are underestimated interms of jamming technology they are far better in it.
And for Tejas MK1A it actually seems alot better than tejas because it had too much problems thats why it got delayed for decades .

Seems that block 3 is better than Tejas Mk1A. Large area display cockpit is a big advantage. They have slight edge in power plant in terms of yield. They have longer range missile P15. Also their IRST will be integrated with the plane and not be pod based, again making theirs score over ours. Our radar seems to be better though. This is sad that we could not match our timelines. Had we done that, today we would be comparing JF Block3 with Tejas Mk2(MWF) and clearly the later would score over the former. Our patriotism aside, seems that they have a better machine than ours overall.

My understanding is bvr missile will be effective based on the radar range. Even though pl 15 has 200+ distance, as Jf 17 radar can detect object only at 170 km, then pl 15 could be used only when object is identified at that distance. Correct me if I'm wrong
