Nice one Erik - man I could bang on about gear for about 3 hours hey, hard to edit it all down. Really enjoyed this one, love seeing what other people take. Cheers
Enjoy the videos Erik, perhaps you could add some affiliate links in the near future for us to support you with for gear and camera setup. Keep up the solid content mate.
Very nice gear review ! Brilliant idea with the tent poles in the cup . Though it IS expensive . I bought the Zpacks , Free Standing "Free Duo " last yr . Only 30 ozs with the poles , and is 42 " wide and 7 1/2 feet long . So you have a real deal 1 1/2 person tent , that weighs little :D I also have , and love my GG Crown Vic ll . That is one sweet sleeping bag . Was looking at their bags , after I saw yours in this video . They have a Great line up IMO. Stay safe out there ....... gubs
G'day Erik, first let me say; a properly organised workshop, with fridge, you're a man after my own heart. More to the point, I really appreciate such a comprehensive load out vid featuring kit that is readily available here in oz. A fair bit there mate and I think most of us know how little it can take to actually survive, but a bit of comfort and safety is mandatory, plus you have camera gear and extra batteries to contend with. Could discuss various items til the cows come home, but I leave it there, I always appreciate advice from others do'in the business, great stuff mate. Cheers Duke.
Thanks Duke! Yeah I could get away with a lot less gear, but that's not the way I roll lol. By the way, saw a comment of yours on a recent DBK video, I'm a fan of theirs too!
@@ERIKOFFTRACK Cool Erik, in no way a criticism, I'm certainly not of the ultra light weight police. I struggle to keep a day pack under 12 -15 Kgs, lol. Ultimately; what works for you mate. Yep, DBK are very entertaining, yet still manage to convey interesting and valuable info. So good on 'em I reckon. I'm guess'n you watch Felix Immler too ?
Haha - fair effort for a day pack! Yeah I watch some of Felix Immler's videos too, I'm a massive SAK fan and fair to say my collection is definitely growing. Cheers mate.
Thanks mate - yeah I'll keep that in mind, being stuck in lockdown have been thinking about videos I can make. To make the fire startes, I melt some cheap candles in a foil BBQ tray then dip in cotton make up remover pads and let them dry on a sheet of foil. Cheap and easy!
Thnx so much Erik....yes, gear has evolved from watching the first early treks....not to mention the quality and quantity of your uploads these days mate. Is always a pleasure to watch and informative. Congrats on how well the channel is going! Only downside is waiting for the next..... Cheers mate 🍻 👍🏼🦘🇦🇺
Great run through of your gear, thanks mate 👍 re: sleeping mats... I go long and wide as a side, back and tummy sleeper... and even then your arms fall off the sides... I use stuffed stuff sacks to create "wings' next to my mat, which catch my arms falling off the edges throughout the night.
Interesting assortment of gear Erik but what works for you is the important factor. Hard to fault your selection mate. Gives us all gear for thought. Thanks for sharing your travelling companions. Bushyboy Oz.
Great gear loadout Erik. Got quite a bit of gear you took with you and some great tips and tricks too. Definitely plenty of options to reduce weight I think, so look forward to seeing what new gear you get... maybe a new backpack first? 😂 Cheers Mate.
I was just rewatching this, so many helpful insights. I was wondering with the dry bags and how easily theyre damaged, all the submersion etc, have you had any luck with just black bin bags and twisting the top / shoving the throat down the side of the pack?
That was awesome Erik. Very helpful. Curious to know what your total pack weight was though. When I purchased a power bank I had no clue whatsoever what size/capacity I needed, so I got a 20,000. I was pleased to hear how well it lasted for you as it now gives me a pretty good idea too.

Lovin the fresh uploads big dog, nice setup!

Good gear info to know mate, 👍 Cheers

Another great video thanks Erik. I’d love to see a quick tutorial video on how you make your fire starters if possible

Nice tip on the use of the stuff sacks !! I'll have to try that with my Nemo 20" wide pad .. Thanks !
Nice one, great tip - thanks Amy

Nice one mate, sounds like that epic self inflected torture session may take on a financial turn after your water issues.
Haha! Yeah turned out to be a very expensive trip. Luckily it was totally worth it.
Very helpful! Thank you. You need some affiliation links!

Cheers mate! Pack weight, from memory, it was around 11kgs ~ 5kgs of food, and at the end of day 1 5 kgs of water.
