I love how your hair matches the galaxy picture in the back. 😍
+Alexandra Parker haha omg yes I noticed that while I was editing! I never even thought about it haha but it's perfect
;-)
Alexandra Parker same!!!
RIGHT LOLLL
I Was Going To Say The Same Thing Beautiful And Cute😏😊🙂😏
Kelli -- I have the PERFECT nail dry solution! Here it is: I put on my workout clothes, pull my hair back, do my manicure, and then get on the treadmill for 45 minutes. When I'm finished, they're dry!!!! 😁😁😁😁
+Diane Hickox omg Diane that's actually AWESOME, and a great way to get yourself active! (Although I'll admit I can't last on the treadmill for more than 30 😅😅) I love it!!!
Caveat: I tried to do this hack, but just jogging outside instead of on a treadmill, and it does not work in any season but winter. Even after 40 minutes in the spring/summer, my nails were still not hard & dry because they never had a chance to cool down to set.
Diane Hickox my nails seem to take 2 he's to fully set & not get dinged. ugh. I wish in 45 mins.
Only works if you don't ball your hands into a fist while running...
I love your hair
I had to kick Evan out of the room to film :P
Kelli Marissa 🤣🤣🤣
Kelli Marissa lol
Kelli Marissa the quick dry drops that I use to dry my nails is called essence or essences. It has argon oil in it so if the quick dry drops get on your skin it can moisturize your cuticles. These quick dry drops work very well and it takes only about 10 seconds for your nails to dry when you put these drops on it.
+ItzMiaNotMya 24 oh I know that brand! They sell it in ULTA, right?
Kelli Marissa Yeah, Essence is sold in Ulta. Their drying drops are pretty good. :)
If you're using the water method, you need to do it after every coat. If you soak your nails after two or three coats, it will only dry the top layer, which will stop the beneath layers from drying. so be careful with that...
+Madison Lee hey Madison! If you follow the previous steps with thin coats, your layers underneath will be dry :)
ohhhh smart!
actually if you wet your nails while paint is not dry yet, your nails may soak up water and expand and the paint dries on the expanded nails, then your nails dry for real (get dehydrated) and polish stars to peel off because it's not tight to your now dehydrated nails.
Did you do your nails today me too
when you live in India and the tap water never gets cold...😩
+Mel Ds aw I'm sorry! But there are still plenty of other ways to help your nails dry! :)
Mel Ds or Australia!
Or Phoenix
Or México
Mel Ds do they have "ice" there?😒
I’ve been doing the water method for a year thanks to this video!! It’s changed my ADD life. I put a top coat on everyday to keep my color perfect the water method makes it a breeze 💦 💕
I tried thinner coats and you were SO right!! Thank you son much for this tip! I paint my nails every week and the drying situation makes me crazy!! Thank you for your video and all your gorgeous nail videos!! You're awesome! 💜
+S Silveradotx ahh I'm so glad these tips are working for you so far! You are so sweet :)
I wondered why the coats dried so easily this one time I went to a nail salon, good to know that nail polish companies don't actually manufacture their stuff to dry after 30 damn minutes or some bs
You should do a quick dry top coat comparison video :)
+bruiz80 I actually love that idea!
@@KelliMarissa anyone find one that doesn't shrink when it dries?
Yes please!
@Jody Ford, this is super, super old, but I like Glisten and Glow’s top coat. It’s only available in the USA and Canada, but I think there are ways to get it in the UK, but you might have to research that. It’s like $6 a bottle, and with shipping, it’s usually $10-15 .
I am OBSESSED with black nail polish at the moment. Literally for the past year, I've painted my nails black EVERY. SINGLE. TIME! I use the OPI natural nail base coat, the OPI nail lacquer in lady in black and then the seche vite quick dry top coat. Then, I dip my nails in a sink full of really cold water for a minute or two, dry them off and spray them with the elegant touch rapid dry nail polish spray which is awesome! I find if you spray it when the nails are mostly dry it works really well just to really set them in place. It also has vitamin E which moisturises my cuticles. Highly recommend! xx
Thanks for sharing your tips/experience Robyn!
Thank you sooo much! I am so incredibly done with the bed sheet imprints.😂 I will definitely be investing in a quick dry top coat and buying a nail fan!
Haha I hope it helps you!
I use a quick dry top coat and then after waiting 10-15 minutes, I put cuticle oil all over my nails and then go to bed. The cuticle oil protects my nails from dents and smudges! Works so well!
Ooh that's a great tip!!
What brands do you use for this?! I’m new to (trying) to do my own nails, so I feel like I have no frame of reference.😅
@@samzetnick4558 there’s a lot of cuticle oils I like. Orly is one - I like their second dry top coat too
Yep! Cutical oil works great! If I bump or snag or rub a nail, the oil actually works as a buffer/bumper... Ice water, and then oil. Avocado oil, sesame oil, coconut oil... even vegetable oil- Whatever you have in the kitchen- 😊
BTW Ice water is hardening the nail polish. It doesn't actually dry. But that tip works great!
I gave up on painting my nails because the nail polish I had just wouldn’t dry. Little did I know that it was the polish and not me!
it’s snowing outside so i just go stick my hands in the snow
Haha oh gosh don’t get frostbite!!
Thank you for your tips and honesty. You inspire me to be more creative and I learn something new everytime I watch your videos. I love your imperfections because nobody's perfect and you do everything gracefully.
I have had my nails done professionally for almost 15 years, then I finally started doing my own. Most of your tips I totally agree with. There are two products I cannot live without. The first is Seche Vite quick dry top coat - it just works and makes my nails super shine. The last step I use right after that is Quica half time polish drying excellerator drops. This is what keeps my nails from getting wrinkles from the sheets, accidental dings from hitting things. It not only instantly dries the polish, it makes the polish harder, with no weird texture. The one down side, it is quite pricey, but if you are careful, it lasts a really long time. I have had nail techs use all kind of things - and this is the only one that just works.
+Angi Willis oh I used to use Seche Vite religiously! I still think it's a great top coat, but I've found several brands have similar formulas without the shrinking that sometimes occurs with SV! I haven't heard of those drying drops but they sound awesome. Will have to look them up :)
@@KelliMarissa Please do a video about polish shrinking! I've been having that problem with the Seche top coat.
Ugh!! I love your Nail Polish 101 videos!
+Allison Collins 😁😁😁😁😁😁
YOU ARE HILARIOUS!!!! LOVE IT.....I DO ALL THOSE THINGS TOO WITH THE FREEZER, AIR CONDITIONER, RUN MY NAILS UNDER THE WATER, DO ALL THAT TOO. I HAVE NO PATIENCE WAITING TO DRY UGH!!! SO SUPER EXCITED TO TRY MY CUCCIO 7 SECOND TOP COAT!!!!!!! THANK YOU
+Lisa Ratz haha Lisa you rock! I love how your comments got more excited as the video went on LOL!
HAHAHAHa I get VERY excited about nails!!! I just love anything to do with doing nails. YAY!!!! THIS IS WHY I LOVE UR CHANNEL AND UR A GOOFBALL AT TIMES AND I LIKE THAT!!!! YOU ACT LIKE A REAL PERSON NOT A SNOB OR KNOW IT ALL. UR JUST GREAT!!
I always have problems with my nails drying so thank you so much for the tips! And your hair looks so good in this video!
+Brianna James oh thank you SO much Brianna! :) I hope you find these tricks helpful!
Bought the Cuccio 7 Second Top Coat for $5.99 on Amazon. Got lucky with that price! Applied it today, and all (except the Wet n' Wild polish) dried in 30 minutes! The Wet n' Wild did this accordion thing when I jumped in the shower. Luckily I was able to "gently" push it back in place. Doesn't look great. But the rest do! Can't believe that worked! Thank you!
i literally JUST got this cuccio one TODAY!!!! EXCITED
+Lisa Ratz you have to let me know what you think of it!!
KELLI, I LOVE IT!!!!!! Just did my nails and omg what a great product. I also bought the 3 in 1 base coat....and I like that it's a ridge filler. That is important for me because then my nail polish goes on so smooth. I am in love with cuccio and kbshimmer :-)
THIS IS SO HELPFUL! And omg, thanks for these awesome videos.
+Running for sanity in so so happy you're enjoying them!
I primarily paint my toes, so the quick drying thing is super important. I also wear tight climbing shoes, so if they're not dry, they get squished and ruined. I do several fun layers and designs, so I'm gonna try these techniques and definitely buy that fast drying top coat!! I think some of my polishes have gotten thick too, so they haven't been going on in nice thin layers, like you recommend. Gonna pick up some of that thinner you used.
LOVE this haircolor!! Also if you remember the purple you were wearing in this video, please do share!
Single Father that started doing his 3yr old daughters nails. I just
thought it was a good way to bond with her and remind her of me when I
can't be there. I appreciate all this advice.
I'm glad I could help :)
Everyone always thought I was nuts putting my nails under cold water. So now I can say, "HA!", to those people and show'm your video. :)
+Amy West haha! Let them laugh and smudge their nails :P
I read this as "HA! I was putting my nuts on my nails!" and wondered why it had so many likes.
😂I literally just finish painting my nails
When I got The Notification Also Great video❤️
+Kayla Haynes haha perfect timing! ThNks so much as always Kayla :)
THIS IS THE ONE I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!!! THANKS KELLI:-)
+Lisa Ratz I'm glad I finally posted it LOL! Hope you find it helpful!
Ok I'm SUPER late to this video but OH DID YOU SAVE MY LIFE! I have quite long nails and I decided to do them, but the nail polish wouldn't dry fast enough so I found this video and it helped a lot, thanks:)
So beautiful and such a great content! Congrats ♥️♥️
Thanks Cristina!
Sally Hansen’s drying drops actually work great - at least for me - plus, they help moisturize the skin around the nails and the cuticles. You definitely have to follow the directions - waiting at least 60 seconds after top coat and only using 1-2 drops - but that’s worth it for a great finish!
Thanks for sharing your experience with them, Kendall!!
video not clear...burnt my house down and married a goat.
+Borat. LOL
Ammar Azzam oh god this should get more likes
It is recommended to buy a nail fan bought at MAKARTT six months ago. The drying speed is still very fast. It is recommended to try.
It is recommended to buy a nail fan bought at MAKARTT six months ago. The drying speed is still very fast. It is recommended to try.
😭😭😭
Dumping your nails in ice water doesn't actually make it dry faster. The nail polish becomes more viscous as it cools which makes it seems like it's dried, but actually now that it's cooled down the solvent will take more time to dry up properly.
Maybe what's happening with your tap water trick is actually that the running water is slowly dissolving away the solvent contained in the nail polish.
I'm loving your hair! 💜
+Maria Bello thanks so much Maria!
I just have to tell you how much I love watching your videos. I've tried watching so many other peoples channels and I just can't get into any others. You make me laugh everytime, and you're so quirky...like I feel like we would be friends if I didn't live in a different state 😂.
+Emily Crum haha oh my gosh Emily you are so sweet! This comment made my day. I'm SO happy you like my videos (and my doofy attitude hahaha) ❤❤❤😅
drying my nails is my biggest issue! Can't wait to see your tips!
+Carolina Noriega hope you find them helpful :)
I use the Sally Hansen Quick Dry drops and it works really well for me!
+Sarahsoda29 thanks for sharing Sarah!
Omg… can I just say the improvement in your video and editing quality from today??? Amazing!!! I am so glad you took out the background music….
But hair style and nail polish preference…. Exactly the same haha
awesome! cant wait to hear the tips!!! lol obviously I'm commenting before I hear them!
+Heather Schultz haha Heather! I hope you enjoyed the vid!
A lot of people I know seem to hate ESSIE nail polish, but I love it. The nail polish and the Good To Go top coat dries wicked fast for regular polish.
I'm glad it works well for you!
U r sooo right, Love, and everything u're saying make so much sense. We get into trouble when we're in a hurry and don't let every coat of polish dry completely. Lol. Thanks, Hon'!
+Jamie Shunte I'm so glad you enjoyed the video Jamie! Xoxo :)
The GELISH quick dry drops are GENIUS!
Ooh I haven’t seen those yet!!
Just subscribed!! Loving your videos so far 😉👍🏻
+Inez Tang oh thank you so much Inez, and welcome to my channel :) I'm so excited for you to see the videos I'm planning soon!! Xoxo
Since I started using my seche vitte fast drying top coat my life changed! Used to used the one from essence but didn't dry as quick. The best thing is to spend a little bit more in a good top coat 😊. Love your videos and would love to do one inspired in one of your manicured, but no without your permission. Love from Spain
+Alice Land oh yes I used to use seche vite all the time! It's a great top coat :) I'm so glad you like my videos! You're welcome to do content inspired by me of course, but I would ask that you mention that you were inspired by me :)
I'm learning so much from your channel!
+ASMRyouVEGANyet? I’m so happy to hear it :) :)
Kelli, you gotta try the HK girl top coat from glisten & glow, it's amazing!! Your videos are always so much fun to watch, love them!!!! 😀👍
+Jazzy Rodriguez thanks so much Jazzy! I actually bought HK girl top coat a couple of years ago and it smelled so much like cigarette smoke that I had to throw it out even after airing it out for a few days :(
What was the name of the base coat you suggested on your video
I totally drool when I talk about nail polish or paint my nails! haha love it
+Mandy Rasmuson hahaha!
omg literally same with the cold water, air conditioner, and freezer, you're hilarious I love this video
+Phoebe Anastasia haha thanks so much Phoebe! I'm glad you're enjoying :)
Just found your videos after i painted my nails and my nails weren't drying :P thanks for the advice I'm glad that i came upon you :)
+Cloe Hildebrand I'm glad you found me too, Cloe! Happy you enjoyed the video :) let me know if you have any other requests!!
Hey 👋. New to your channel, loving the tips.. with a top dry fast coat do we paint while the polish is still wet or wait for it to dry? Or is that just seche vite that you can top coat over wet polish?
Yes, you can use most fast dry top coats while the polish is still wet :)
Seche Vite topcoat is my nail polish game changer. Before I found that product my nails would never dry. Now I can achieve salon looking gel effect nails myself, especially now I know how to clean up my sloppy application too. Seche Vite dries your nails in just a couple of minutes which I love as I also run out of patience!
+Christina Winstanley ooh yes Seche Vite is a great quick dry top coat! And it's readily available which is awesome.
Yes, it's my go-to for sure.
You have literally the best tips.
+Wätérméløn Ghøst oh this means so much to me! I'm so so happy you like my stuff :)
So haven't tried Cuccio but you have me intrigued! Do you get any of the sort of shrinkage that you get with Seche?
+Claire O'Sullivan I haven't experienced that with Cuccio! Actually I think the only brand I've ever gotten shrinkage with is Seche haha.
Your skin looks amazing in this video! What foundation are you using?
+danceypants93 oh my gosh thanks so much!! I use the Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation, it's my fave :) but I also used a new concealer from Graftobian in this vid - I think it's their HD palette? It's a clear packaging and it's got 5 colors in it, it's also great for contouring!
this vid made my day better yesterday and today have bin soooo hard and sad thanks 4 making my day better kelli
+orangetigergaming I'm so happy you were able to watch it ❤ I hope your days get happier! Everything will be okay :)
Kelli Marissa thank you♡♥. really hope things get better soon its bin a rough year so far.
great tips, thank you Kelli!!
+Diana Leon so glad you found them helpful Diana :)
kelli, where did you get the polish rack behind you? my collection needs organization stat.
+TreeStevens my bf actually made it for me! :)
i love your videos so far... i just subscribed to your social medias 😘❤️👌🏼
+Alexandra Sanchez oh thank you so much Alexandra, and welcome to my channel :) :) let me know if you have any requests!!
Always ran my nails under a cold faucet. Don't remember when I learned that but it absolutely works. Also; I've been using Seche Vite dry fast top coat. Works fast and gives the nails a gel coat look that lasts. :)
Yes I totally love SV!!
Here I am in 2023 painting my nails at home for the first time and was getting frustrated because even after sitting for an hour my nails weren’t dry. Happy I found this video lol
I didn't use to be a big believer in the drying sprays, but my mind was changed when I discovered the Formula X spray. I really like it, and it always seems to work well for me.
+Kelli Haddock hey Kelli! I'll have to check it out :)
I always bump to ur videos whenever i have small issues about my nails haha so i gotta hit that subscribe button for alread
Well I'm honored to have you here :)
Where did you get your wooden nail polish carousel stand? I been looking for one forever and can't find anything like it. Thank you..
My ex built it for me!
Loved the video! 🤗
+amy jelinek thanks Amy!!
Over the years I have managed to do a few of the quick dry ideas , but as always you have given me some new ones !
I'm still in my purple faze , bit worried as it's been months now lol
+Michelle Till hahaha I think my purple phase might last a long time too! Glad you enjoyed the vid :)
Do you have a nail drying spray you would recommend?
Nah, I haven’t used any I like :(
Have you tried Seche Vite's quick dry top coat or their thick like gel based Top Coat? Love them!
+Uvernona McCarthy I used to use Seche Vite all the time!!!
Kelli Marissa What are some of your favorite top coats and base coats?
Thanks so much! And i love your hair! 😀
Thank you so much :)
what lip color are you wearing? it's awesome.
EXACTLY what I was going to ask.
Elizabeth G. glad I'm not the only one.
+Teresa Smith it's Colourpop Clueless! Haha I'm glad you guys like it :)
What hair color product do you use your hair looks beautiful in the video oh, I love that hair color
I love your videos!! UA-cam notifications suck so I wait for you to announce a new video on Snapchat 😊
My question...have you ever tried the OPI gel colors and used the UV light?
+Jenn Welchman hey Jenn! Thanks so much, idk what is up with UA-cam lately - so frustrating! But I'm glad you get to see my videos :) Believe it or not, I've actually never tried gel polish in my life haha. But I definitely want to give it a try!
Great video! I want to try the cold water trick! I got my hands on the Cuccio 7 second Top Coat, I haven't used it yet, but I can't wait to. PS Im glad you didn't take out the drool part, that had me LOL. I drool too when I talk about nail polish ;) Lmao! XO
+vocalmommy2004 oh I can't wait for you to try it too! Let me know what you think of it :)
Where did you get that polish organizer? I love it!
My ex made it years ago lol
Great video what brand and color is dis. I need it asap.
+Caroline Boler hey Caroline, I’m sorry I’m not too sure!
Really great video :)
+L'Univers de Luna thanks so much!
I know this is an old vid, but can I use a quick dry top coat between layers to dry faster?
You could, but it'll end up a bit thick! You don't have to wait for each coat to fully dry before applying the next coat for regular manicures tho :)
Thank you for the video!!!!! I've known that you need to use super thin costs, but it really, really help to be reminded of this tip. Can you review the Sensational Polish to Gel? I found it at Target and I've been using it for several months instead of HydraCol, but I don't know if it works better or worse than your recommendation.
+MomNMe Beauty hey, glad you enjoyed! Is it a top coat? I haven't heard of it!
It can be used as either a top coat or a mix-in with regular polish, but either way needs to be cured with an LED light. I remember the video you did where you talked about Hydracol, and the very next day I found the SensatioNail in Target.
I always use cold sink water too! I also have quick-dry drops from Sally Hansen and they work well for me (but they do leave an oily residue, so I only use them for the top coat).
+NailZealot haha I'm glad I'm not the only one who uses sink water!
I use Elegant Touch Rapid Dry Spray and I really like it. I’m in the UK so I’m not sure if you can get it where you are but I’d like to hear your thoughts on it
I haven’t heard of that one!
Glad to know I’m not the only one who does the freezer and air conditioning trick
Your hair💖💖. Thanks tho these tips actually work! I tried them out
+Mallika Kumar oh thank you so much 💜💜 I'm so glad these tips for you!!
+Kelli Marissa *work for you haha
Love your hai colour!
We can now dry our nails faster than it took you to finally do another NP101 video. 😂😂😂 I'm just kidding of course. 😁
+Jessica Smith Hahahaha the irony isn't lost on me that it took me literally forever to upload a video for how to dry your nails super quickly 😂😂😂😂
Thank you for your videos. They've really helped me, as a dad, to get up to speed. Even though I tell her not to, my daughter (7) often uses her thumb to 'self-test' the dryness of her own nails (think of it as a reverse snapping / flicking motion). Even though she thinks she's being gentle, it's almost always too much force and she ends up dragging the semi-dried paint right off. I can't even 'fix' it at that point, I just have to start over on that nail. Question: If I'm applying a base coat, 2-3 coats of polish, and a top coat, how long should it be before a 7 year old can go off and play? Thanks.
One hour, that's if they're careful not to bump their nails afterward. I don't think they will 😭 And do thin coats.
I usually paint my nails before bed. I wait for at least one hour. When I wake up they're completely dry and hard. You know, even if they're dry to touch they're still squishy(?) for hours.
Wait. Do most 7 y.o kids now paint their nails? When I was 7 I loved to play in the mud after school. Or riding bicycle and getting bruises, scrapes, and wounds. I was that reckless and wild. It doesn't help that I'm the youngest kid. I think my parents were probably tired of pampering and treating my older sister like a princess, so they let me do whatever I like 😂
@@aprilianindy3200 PokeKid does like getting her nails done. But she also does all the kids things too so her nails are usually trashed in a couple of days. But it's not about the polish, it's about the bond.
How much is a quick dry top coat
I've done the running cold trick. It did seem to dry a tad quicker. Right I'm using two QD top coats, KBShimmer Clearly on Top and Sally Hansen Big Kwik Dry Top Coat. I like both of them.
+Angela Archer oh I love the KBShimmer one too! It's got a nice solid finish as well :)
2019 comment!!! Love your chanel!!
OMG Evan kills me, shut up! Make a sign no farting allowed in bright red nail polish! 💅. I used to use drying drops, which work great, but now the quick dry top coat works awesome! You should do stand up comedy, you're hilarious. hahahahahahaha! I love the new office. 😁💕. You made me laugh, and made my night. Thx Kelli! XO
+RonneeSue Scott I can't believe him lol he was bored so I said he could hang out in my nail polish room and of course he lets out a huge fart while I'm filming! SMH hahaha 😩 I'm happy you enjoyed the video despite the farter! Love ya!
Ha! And I'm watching this at 9:30 in pj's 😋 I'd like to know what kind of nail fan you have if you use it often. I like the tip about stinking your hands in the freezer, I tend to open and stand in the doorway of the freezer anyway on hot days, might as well dry my nails at the same time! 😜 as always I love your videos and humor, thank you for sharing!
+Elisabeth West hey Elisabeth! I believe it's called Belson? (Sorry, I have it in the description but I'm on mobile app so I can't see it haha) And your nails are a totally good excuse to stick your head in the freezer on a hot day LOL that's my favorite!!
I like Orly's quick dry drops, but you need to avoid getting it on your skin because it'll dry it too a bit.
I have noted that occasionally I get something like goose bumps on my polish if I touch the water or not. I don't really know why this happens. Also, can I use regular hair dryer to dry my nails (by using the cold regime)?
+Kitty I find that my polish gets bubbly if I'm in a warm environment - maybe the water you're using isn't cool enough? And I imagine a cool hair dryer could work!
Question about polish...do you shake it gently or rub the bottle between your hands to mix it? Thank you :)
+Art LuvR I usually roll it between my hands if it needs a shake before I paint my nails :) if I know I'm not painting my nails with it anytime soon, I'll shake it!
This is everything I needed and more
+Stephanie Esplin lol Stephanie you are the best!
I have a "fast drying" topcoat. It is NOT fast, and I have tried so many. Can't find one. So I'll check the on out you recommend.
Can you please share where you got that nail polish stand? 🙏🏽🙏🏽
My ex actually made it for me!
Amazing video thanks
Kelly you need to do a best silver nail polishes video
I use fast dry top coat and I also spray opi rapid dry spray. It's awesome. It helps ensure the polish does dry fast and leaves a moisturizing element after which I love especially after cleaning up with acetone.
+Karen Mindock oh thanks for sharing Karen! I didn't know OPI made a drying spray!
what's the color you're using in the video
+Denise Trevino it's LVX Reine :)
I know my question is not nail-polish related but what lipstick do you use? It looks amazing
Haha oh gosh this was so long ago I don’t remember :( I’m sorry!
It's ok I found another comment which asked the same question. It was Colourpop Clueless 😊 Thanks 😊
You look sooo good!
+Nagelkonst helt enkelt oh my gosh thank you so much! You are so sweet :)
