    Here is my experience with Essence dry drops: I started to use it about 5 months ago. I do my nails according to instructions , I let each layer dry between 5-10 min sometimes more if needed. Most of the times I do my nails in the evening around 7-8 p.m. so there is time to dry before bed time.
    Before using the Essence dry drops I used cold water where I would keep my nails for about 1min. If I would go to bed around 22:30-23:00, I would still have marks from the sheets in the morning. No marks with the Essence dry drops.
    After top coat I let the nails dry 5 min, then I put the dry drops, let them 3-5min. After that, I wash off the dry drops with cold water. The nails feel wet if I don’t wash them from the dry drops. I use a soft tissue to dry my hands but being gentle on my nails. Now it feels that the polish has bonded and I add Sally Hansen cuticle oil. I’m still careful with my nails for the next hour but I don’t get the bed marks in the morning. My nails routine takes about 1,5-2 hours but it’s worth it. My manicure is glossy and perfect for the next 6 days when I redo it👍

    I'm a recent convert to the Dazzle Dry system you mentioned for so many reasons. My conversion is based on the non-toxicity of the products as well as the incredible drying time. I'm about to give myself a pedicure and I know without a doubt I will be able to shove my feet into thick socks and boots and go about my day during a Colorado winter after adhering to the recommended drying time. Previously, I would plan my entire day around letting my pedicure fully dry and this became limiting. I follow the system's instructions to the letter and will have now doubt my pedicure will last for weeks. However, if for some reason I'd like to use a traditional polish, I use CND spray and hope for the best. Lots of love, Suzanne from Colorado.

    I have tried all methods different sprays , drops , heat or cold water or ice ( can create bubbles) etc but the old school method works the best . Wait it it dries .
    I have observed it takes almost 24 hours for nail polish ( base coat + 2 coats of colour + 1 or 2 coat of top coat ) .
    Sometimes if I have chores I just apply one coat each day and it comes out perfectly.

    Haven’t seen the ice cube method, will have to check it out. But I remember my grandmother’s trick of running her freshly polished nails under cold running water to speed up drying. That was in the late 1950’s! Thanks for another great video.

    Pretty funny that the drying drops and spray made the polish dry slower. I’ve done the ice cube thing a couple of times. It didn’t work for me. In fact, at least twice it effected the way the polish looked. I think it dulled it, but can’t remember for sure. It didn’t effect the color every time.

    Hi from Greece! I use Mavala Oil Seal Dryer with Essie top coats (Gel Setter or Gel Couture). I let them dry for about 10 min. then use the Mavala Oil. I find it does help, but I will not use this system if I'm going to bed soon after, because it doesn't ensure I won't get sheet marks. The only product I really trust when it comes to drying is Seche Vive (in the blue bottle). It dries just as fast as Seche Vite without the shrinkage (which was terrible for me) and I like that I can use it with any brand of polish. I have tried many products over the years, including luxury brands like Dior, and in my personal experience, when it comes to dry time, nothing beats Seche. In the past, I've used the Mavala drying spray (not impressed), the OPI drying drops (which sometimes gave me bubbles!), the Essie drops (which were rather good) and the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri drops (which I think are no longer available and were basically almond cuticle oil). Overall, I think it's redundant as a product and as a step in the manicure process. I expect a quick-dry top coat to be able to deliver. So far, the only brand that delivers without fail and in varying environmental conditions is Seche. I would be very interested to try Dazzle Dry, but so far it isn't available in Greece. Thank you for the video! 💅

    For some reason, Seche Vite works the best for me. I used to have problems with shrinkage but now I put on a top coat before the Seche Vite and it has prevented any shrinkage. The bottle gets thick pretty quick but I also bought the Seche Vite thinning drops and it seems to work. I try to do a manicure every week but I can honestly say that my nails do not chip even if I wait 2 weeks.

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  2 роки тому +3

      That seems like a lot of work. How do you dry it? Dry the polish and then top coat #1 and then Seche Bite right away?
      I just got a bottle of Seche Vite to test it.

      @@TheSalonLife I do the regular base coat and 2 coats of polish, making sure that I let them dry in between coats. After I put on the top coat, I don't wait very long and then put on Seche Vite. The Seche Vite dries almost immediately for me. I haven't had sheet marks or dents in about 5 years now! I would buy Dazzle Dry if it wasn't so expensive to get it to Canada.

    I use Elegant Touch nail drying Spray, it's a bit greasy but it dries fast! I'm a Essie fanatic, their No Chips topcoat and Here Stay basecoat dries really fast! Beware denting! Essie polish is very thin, let it dry down! And the Essie nail polish system is very, very strengthening, my long bendy nails haven't Chipped or peeled off anymore in 4 days of Essie polish! Very impressed 👏! I have a nightmare with gel polishes making my nails rip and tear! Painful ! No more rips; SO HAPPY! NO PAINFUL ripped nails! 💪 Yay!
    And Essie is economical, I just paid £22 for 7 yes 7 Essie polishes, a mix of 1 big 13.5ml Essie and 6 mini 5ml Essie polishes and basecoat and topcoat! AND Seche Vite Quick Dry Topcoat mini polish was only £3/$5 off Ebay! Economical with the UK 🇬🇧 cost of living crisis! Yay! 😃
    I'm after Quick Dry nail drops and Seche Vite Quick Dry topcoat! That lot should last me! I use the nail Polish & Eyeshadow hack to get the colour I want!

    I bought Essense Nail Drying drops after this video, they do dry polish very fast, but not thick polish! I used Essie topcoats, basecoats and Essie Blanc 5ml mini White polish. The Essie Blanc was a horrible white polish, too thick, smudged easily and plastic like consistency! Thinned it down with nail polish thinner and it was still smudgy and 24 hrs later still moving!
    Got a Wet n Wild White creme polish 12ml and it is brilliant, Bright white like OPI polish, cheap, thin and dries FAST! Only £2.40/$3, a really good cheap nail polish! Just got the Wet n Wild Black creme nail polish as well for just £1.60/$2, had a Amazon gift card, discount. Elegant Touch nail Drying spray 125ml is good but oily! So I use Sally Hansen insta dry clear Topcoat and Essie Here Stay basecoat and hope that works! Use whatever! I need Orly Bonder basecoat and a rubber Kodi topcoat but these brands are £13/$16 just for 10ml?? Expensive! UK 🇬🇧 21.4 24

    I wasn't able to do my nails latter in the day because the next morning I would get hair/sheets imprint all over them, what is working for me now is Anny Quick Dry Top Coat, it's really fast, self leveling and if you bump a nail really hard while your nail polish is still wet you can just smooth it over with your finger and it's as good as new. In terms of drying sprays/drops, I had an Avon drying spray and it didn't work very well. Maybe you can do a video where you compare different quick dry top coats? I'm all for upgrading to new products :D

  • @aquariaaustin2077
    @aquariaaustin2077 Рік тому +2

    Also: I'm not surprised at this result. The oils of these drying products would make the polishes NOT bind into a hard shell as well as letting them dry normally. I'd have to go back to my Chem textbooks to do the "official" explanation, but I think what's happening is that polishes are mostly a film of cellulose (really) and cellulose can be a major oil absorber. This is not good, because oil does not dry as well as the other products in nail polish. With polish, as you said in the beginning, you're wanting evaporation of the liquids to get your nails to dry, and oil will not evaporate as quickly as the alcohol, acetates, and so on that are in nail polish. If it evaporates at all.
    So I'll be sticking with air drying. My manicure time is my "me time." Air drying is the excuse to make it last longer!

    Do you spread the polish from bottom to top with the whole brush or roll it forward with the tip? It seems simple but most people aren’t sure how to place the polish from the brush to cover the nail. I find that l run out out of polish on the brush and have to re-dip 2 to 3 times to cover the entire nail if I’m trying to apply a thin coat.

      Thank you for your reply! I will try it with OPI. Regular line with opi base and top?

      @@TheSalonLife I use a different brand of base and top coat it’s from salon centric the local supplies store

      Ah ok, could be that top coat works better with drying drops. The drops don’t reach bottom layers so what they really dry is the last layer

      It shrinks for me big time. After it’s fully dry it looks like the manicure has grown out a week. I tried it recently, a brand new bottle and I still don’t like it. And it didn’t even dry that fast.

    It`s many years since I used quick dryer as I recall they worked fine then. Now I have tried CND Quick Dryer and must say I can`t stand the smell. I`ve got headace and got nausea. Haven`t seen your video here first and bought it 0n the net so didn`t smell to it first. 😪

    Why don’t you use Seche Vite?

      It shrinks and Dazzle Dry as a system is way better (in my opinion).
      Here is a video where I compare them

    I stopped using drying drops as I notice they dull the shine of my manicure in mani instances and make some polish look plastic on my nails

      Interesting!!! I find that oils dulls them too (I'm talking about Dazzle Dry because I use that the most in the salon) but it's temporary. I should test that further!!! Thank you for pointing this out!
