Good to know Kelli. I guess of the Porsche wasn’t any good you could try it and see if it worked you wouldn’t be out anything thank you I love your videos
Jackie Rosenfeld that confused me because I was about to write a comment about how I used nail polish remover on my glitter polish and it ruined it completely.
Hi Kelli, just found your vids, and as a licensed cosmetologist and former artistic director I have to tell you how impressed I am with your nail 101 vids. Especially this one. I have a discontinued OPI color I love that is like goopy Elmer’s glue now, wwwaaaahhhhh! I did not want to throw it away, and now I don’t have to. Duh on my part! I should have known about this thinner product. But then I’ve been out of the business for decades now and I’ve forgotten some things. Thanks for the reminder. I’ll pick some up next time I’m at cosmo prof or sally. Blessings to you!
Hey Rita, I’m so glad to hear you’re enjoying the videos! I think it’s pretty interesting that enthusiasts (like me) have different knowledge from actual licensed cosmetologists/nail techs. I’m always learning from my licensed followers and sometimes they learn a new trick from me too haha! It works out pretty well.
That thinner can ruin glitter, Orly's thinner is better for glitter polishes. I just saw a girl post a glitter polish where the glitter melted because she used that brand of thinner.
+mandas677 oh that's interesting, I haven't heard that but I also never put it in glitter since I use a sponge to apply it. I'll have to do some research!
Thanks for this tip. I use the Sallys thinner on my glitters ( I never knew there were different formulas for different types of polishes), and when I come back to use that polish again, it's like Kelly's silver. I will try Orly's.
Great tip! Rubbing some Vaseline around the outside neck of the bottle helps it from sticking to the top part of the bottle. I do this as soon as I buy all my traditional nail polishes. It really works,no more sticking👌🏼👍🏼 I will definitely use your thinning tips with old polishes that I have forgotten about but still love 👍🏼💚🇮🇪

Be careful by "hitting" the bottle in the palm of your hand. I always did that my whole life... up to that day where the bottle burst and the nail polish was all over the place. Unfortunately there was a big mess, the tiny glass pieces fell on the carpet (of course with color on it), on the sofa, on my clothes - just everywhere. I never did it again 😉. ... I almost forgot the incident till I saw it in the video!!
amazing! I had a white polish that got a little thick, and my mom told me to try nail polish remover. it worked well, for that one day. next time I tried to use it, it was cracking in the bottle, it was sticky, the colour seemed to break apart. it was horrible. I don't understand how people still think it works. the thinner is so so so much better.
Try adding clear nail polish of the same brand and see if it fixes nail polish(use a cheap nail polish if you don't want to ruin a good nail polish if it doesn't end up working). I don't have the nail polish thinner so I'm wondering if this will work as a replacement for the nail polish thinner...
Just happened to find you. I so loved how you started this -- Does nail polish expire? No! Next... I've gotten into this discussion multiple times with siblings who pooh-poohed me for buying older polishes off of ebay. (Dior Sparkling Blueberry circa 1997? oh HELLO!) Nope...my collection is in fine working order.
+Rose J. Hahaha Rose! I totally know how you feel. I'm horrified when I talk to people who used to own rare polishes and threw them out because they "expired"!
I am SO glad you said using acetone is only going to ruin your polish as I was waiting for you to say that's what you use to thin it. Yes I confess I came here ready to thumbs down! In their defense, using acetone is ok for one last use when you don't have a thinner handy but you better be prepared to throw out the polish because it's ruined now, mate! Anyway, I hope your boss was thrilled and you can tell her that she's probably inspired a lot of people to get that silver polish! P.S. I have 4 different thinners since nothing is ever simple any more. T_T
+Kalleesto hahaha I appreciate your honesty! I'm definitely sick of people saying that acetone works as a long term solution, so I understand your frustration :P And that's wild haha you have more thinner than me! I just have one for me three free polishes (that I used in this video) and then one with toluene for older polishes (which to be honest, I never use!)
Yeah it sucks - I have 3-Free, 5-Free, 7-Free and 0-Free (lol). Luckily I have no 9-Free polishes so I don't have to worry about that. Yes I have a lot of polish. Help? Thanks for your response! :D
I watch 100's of nail videos and by far this was the most informative and valuable video!!! I am always buying new Polish because it gets all goopy. I am going today to buy this stuff!! thank you so much!!!
OMG!!! How freaky is this video?! Only bc TODAY, I gave myself a black on black matte French Manicure...As I was going through my polishes (140 + last time I counted) Anyway, I was wondering if there was anyway to *bring back* for lack of better words my old mail polishes...some are really really thick due to age. I have been collecting for a few yrs now...Lol I come on UTube just to check some things out as I'm settling down from my lonnng day....low & behold this video is the 2nd in line....I almost died bc I NEVER searched this idea, EVER! Was going too but didn't get around to it. Wow! Mind blowing!
+Michelle Pierce haha you know I always feel creepily like the Internet is watching me, you know what I mean? Like I'll mention a style of shoes I'm interested in to a friend and next thing I know it's popping up in my Facebook ads before I ever searched it! Haha well anyway I am glad you found the video and hopefully you find it helpful too :P
Michelle Pierce haha, I've experienced many of those "when I get around to it"... I just call them "round tuits" now. Thanks Kelly, I'm an nail artist from wayyy back and appreciate your wisdom to the max! (tried to rhyme last paragraph but a no go). Kelly...LOVE, LOVE your channel! AMAZEBALLS😘!
I did not know that nail polish thinner was a thing that existed, but I hit up Sally's today and got a bottle. And just saved two of my absolute favorite polishes from Hot Topic that they don't make anymore! Thanks!
Kelli.. thank you so much for making this. I destroyed so many polishes try to restore them with acetone. I just saved around 15 bottles of polish, averaging around $5 each. The thinner was about $5. I saved $75 restoring old goopy polishes. Including the price of thinner, I saved a total of around $70. I seriously owe you for helping me save them!!
+kimmi ann oh my gosh Kimmi this is awesome to hear!! Im SO glad you were able to save all those polishes (and all that money!) and get to use some loved colors again :)
I keep my nail polish in the refrigerator and they stay like New for years. I have some from Avon that I've been having for at least 8 years and they apply just like when I first bought them. Maybe that's a tip you can tell your viewers about. It really works, I promise. But they have to stay in the fridge continuously when not in use.
+Sheila Rodriguez hey Sheila, I actually did test out the refrigerator method in one of my videos last year, it worked pretty well. But I've heard it's not great for long term. I'll have to test it out!
Since I was homeless for a few years my collection of polishes have been "winterized" in the freezing cold and heated up in the hot summers. I'm sure you can imagine what my once beautiful polishes look like now. My sister got on Amazon and purchased an enormous bottle of Karlash nail polish thinner. It also came with a smaller bottle with a dropper. I am going to clean the tops and then add the thinner. Thank you so much for the video, Kelli. I am sure with the directions you gave I will be able to make my polishes like new. 😊💅
Haha well $3 for a product that lasts a lifetime and can restore hundreds of expensive/limited edition nail polishes that aren't available anymore seems worth it to me :)
Kelli Marissa I've never seen it either. But I'm weird and haven't seen a lot of more popular videos. (Star Wars, Titanic, Avatar) And I call myself a movie buff! 😳
I have used denatured (not isopropyl) alcohol without any issues in the past, but nail polish thinner is still the best option. I have also added BB's (as in BB gun - so much cheaper than buying the beads labeled specifically for nail polish) to bottles that don't have mixing beads as to help mix the thinner into polishes that are glue-like. It helps to break the "goop" up. Kelli... If you see this. I very much enjoy your videos. SO UPBEAT AND FUN. The descriptives of color, finish, and special features are SO SPOT ON. You clearly love color as much as I do. Thanks for sharing.
I've seen so many people online saying to add acetone/nail polish remover to old polishes to fix them but I was scared to do that due to what it actually does. Thanks for sharing this :) (also I love your hair)
Your awesome. I just recently started doing my own manicures and I love it. Don't know what to me this long. And it lasts waaay longer than the salon. tfs
+Joan Rodriguez thanks so much Joan! I agree, I've never understood why people will pay so much money so frequently to go to the salon when it's so much cheaper and more fun at home!!
THANK YOU FOR THE INFORMATION...I LOVE THAT took the time to explain everything for the ones that already know how to do that then y'all shouldn't even log on to hear what she had to say but I knew about it myself but I enjoyed the extra information that she had gave THANK YOU AGAIN!... 😉
nice video!! I am so tired of having to tell people not to use nail polish remover, I am going to share this all over. I have 3 free and 5 free polishes and use the same thinner you showed on everything - works awesome!
+Michelle Lyman thanks Michelle! I'm really glad to hear you've been telling people not to use remover haha I can't believe that myth has been so widely circulated!
Aggghhh, thank you! I wish I'd known to use thinner instead of remover when I bought my polish years back, ruined a good bottle, but my Dad found someone's discarded nail polish, it's a bit gloopy, and now I can't wait to get to the store for some thinner!
I enjoy your videos, to the point. I am an esthetician, in esthetic school, we learnt to save old, clumpy polish with banana oil. Works great and lasts forever. I get mine from pharmacies.
Whaaat?? My whole life I've been told that nail polish expires! I feel cheated! lol

Doesn't old nail polish start yellowing the nails?
@@vidyaarvind4458Actually, what makes your nails yellow is how long you are wearing the Nail Polish among other reasons.

OMG! I haven't watched one of your vids in like a year. It made me so happy to see your smiling face! You have the best energy! Best smile! 🥰
+Etta Jurima oh no that sounds like an awful experience :( I don't understand it either, I guess most people who suggest it haven't tried it!!
So glad to hear CLEAN language, unlike some of the other ones.
+Karyn Kyle I will always keep my channel family-friendly :) glad you enjoy!!
I have never heard of Nail Polish Remover before in my life!!! Thank you so much and have a blessed night .💅🏽❤️🙏🏼⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I think you mean thinner but it's a lifesaver!! :) :)
I love your nail polish holder in the back ground. Where did you get it?
+TwilightfanNumber thank you so much! My bf actually made t for me :)

+J Cat I'm so so happy you're enjoying my content so far :) :)
I watch 100's of nail videos and by far this was the most informative and valuable video!!! I am always buying new Polish because it gets all goopy. I am going today to buy this stuff!! thank you so much!!!
+Tazbocat I'm so so happy you found this video helpful :) you're going to love the nail polish thinner!!
This is really satisfying. Can’t wait to try this on all my old polishes.
It's definitely satisfying to do!! And it'll feel like getting a brand new bottle of polish haha!
Yassssssss😍😍😍
I use perfume to restore my nail polish. Not only does it work, it makes your nails smell good
those two colors are gorgeous though..
+TreeStevens haha I'm a bit sad to have to give them back!!!
You can still get I'm not really a waitress. It part of the core line I thinkg and I'm pretty sure its part of the infint shine line too
I'm not really a waitress is such a beautiful color, I think it would work for anyone
Thanks!
+Jessica Godwin ahh that's awesome Jessica I'm so glad you were able to find it and use it!
Kelli.. thank you so much for making this.
I was also able to save my favorite blood orange polish which was about 7 years old & discontinued. I'm so excited to use it again. :-)
+kimmi ann oh my gosh Kimmi this is awesome to hear!! Im SO glad you were able to save all those polishes (and all that money!) and get to use some loved colors again :)
+Kelli Marissa please do a nail polish essentials video 😬plz
+Brooklynne Riley oooh I love that idea!!!
+ Kelli Marissa,thank you
Brooklynne Riley That's a good idea
I keep my nail polish in the refrigerator and they stay like New for years. I have some from Avon that I've been having for at least 8 years and they apply just like when I first bought them. Maybe that's a tip you can tell your viewers about. It really works, I promise. But they have to stay in the fridge continuously when not in use.
+Sheila Rodriguez hey Sheila, I actually did test out the refrigerator method in one of my videos last year, it worked pretty well. But I've heard it's not great for long term. I'll have to test it out!
When I was a teenager I worked at Kmart in jewelery and cosmetics, once every three weeks I had to shake all the nail polishes.
Haha thats crazy I never thought about that! Making sure the display looks nice haha
I love you bubbly, enthusiastic personality too!
+Karyn Kyle thank you so much! :)
I just threw my fav nail polishes cause I think they expired :( rip
Oh noooo!!
At first i thought this was a SimplyNailogical video... Then i saw on the thumbnail that the nail polish wasnt holo.
+tegan little girl you know she doesn't do nail videos ever :P LOL
No is a complete sentence. No explanation needed. 😀
Haha it would have been great!
Thanks sooo much. I have color that i LOVE and refused to throw away not knowing what exactly i would do with em but NOW im glad i kept them
Ahh I'm so happy I could help!
omg! Thank you for this. I had no idea about this product. You've just saved me hundreds of dollars.
I'm glad I can help ya out!!!
"how restore a nail polish: buy a specific product for restore nail polish"
Mmh.
Haha well $3 for a product that lasts a lifetime and can restore hundreds of expensive/limited edition nail polishes that aren't available anymore seems worth it to me :)
Kelli Marissa RIGHT!? OP seems like the type that you just can’t please/win with. Great job and thank you endlessly for this video Kelli!!
Just saying, don't write it like is a unique solution
You just bought a product for that specific thing
YOU'VE NEVER SEEN LITTLE MERMAID!?!?!?!?😦 Another great basic video to share with my tween daughter! She listens to you better than she listens to me!
+Elizabeth G. Haha! I definitely have to see it. I remember the Jonas Brothers' cover of Poor Unfortunate Souls and it sounded pretty awesome :P
Kelli Marissa I've never seen it either. But I'm weird and haven't seen a lot of more popular videos. (Star Wars, Titanic, Avatar) And I call myself a movie buff! 😳
Hi what does 3 free, 4 free etc. mean?
+M. M. SCOTT it means free of harmful chemicals :)
This is perfect, thank you! A few of my favorite polishes are getting gloopy as all get out, this helps so much.
Happy to help!
Great video Kelli!! Especially loved the before and after swatching. Really makes the point!
+Jenn W thanks so much Jenn! It's such a difference when it actually comes to application.
Thank you❗️ I loved your video. Sadly, I threw away some awesome polish because I thought it was unusable😍 thank you for being here
Wow good job Kelli! Your boss should give you a raise!
+stephanie Farrar LOL thanks Stephanie!
Super video. Your voice and delivery is great; easy to follow and your demos are clear. Thank you.
+Jane Smith oh wow thank you so much, Jane! :)
Oh Christina you are so sweet, thank you so much! 🥰 It really means a lot to me!
@@KelliMarissa You are most welcome 🙂. Again, thanks for your content!!!
I've seen so many people online saying to add acetone/nail polish remover to old polishes to fix them but I was scared to do that due to what it actually does. Thanks for sharing this :) (also I love your hair)
+Tasoq haha I'm so glad you didn't do it! It will definitely eventually ruin your polish :/ and thank you so so much!
Happy I found this video was about to use nail polish remover to fix nail polish and now ordering nail thinner! Thank you !!!!!
Oh yes always happy to help (and happy to keep you from accidentally destroying a polish haha!!)
Haha yessss I'm glad you enjoyed! That's what this series is all about for me, answering the questions that people think are too basic to ask haha :)
You are such a good kind employee...101 nail tutorials yes please ❤️❤️💛
+Alexandra Vicuna-Perry haha thanks Alexandra! I'm glad you liked the video :)
+Alexandra Vicuna-Perry haha thanks Alexandra! I'm glad you liked the video :)
nice video!!
That was awesome.. swear your channel is the best to watch for newbies.. I learn so much from you.. and you make me bust up.. good vid
+Aleera DoBlah ah this makes me so happy to hear Aleera!!! :) :)
Wow, never knew about this. You got yourself a new subscriber and a like! Now I can restore my older polishes.
Oh yay, welcome to my channel! I'm glad I could help you out :)
I am so so very happy you said don't use nail polish remover ! Great video !
+Paula Taylor thanks so much Paula! Hopefully more people will realize not to use it hahaha
I’ve heard that too! :)
