Don't worry - I'm not changing the core of what I do with RowAlong - My aim is to try to help everyone enjoying indoor rowing. And I know from some comments and requests of the years that there is a section of rowers who want this kind of workout, so I'm giving it to them too. (This is why I've "Branded" it RowBeats, so it stands out from the usual RowAlongs). And, in case you're not interested in the Euro Houe Beats, I put all of the rate/intesnity info on screen, so you can just hit mute and listen to whatever you want.
Thankyou!! It'll be a short series of just 10 videos for now, but if I see that this style gets a good reception, I'll make more of them (alongside my usual chattier RowAlongs)
I didn’t have a lot of time this morning, so I popped this one on and really enjoyed it. I wound up rowing at the prescribed stroke rates but at full power for the entire 10 minutes - worked up a good sweat! Fun!
I'm trying to be more consistent about getting up and rowing before work, which means not a lot of time and not a lot of motivation. 🤣 This workout helps with both of those, so I really appreciate it!
Might give this ago next week, depending on recovery from HYROX London Olympia. Just listened to yourself and Martin on the UK HYROX podcast. Good stuff 👍
@@mikecaseyoshea3594 There's a chance I'll pass you as I'm coming into the venue then. Good luck!! And remember to listen to the UKHXR podcast preview episode for map info etc. (Totally not because I'm on it... )
nice modern graphics and nice for a change with the music, but coming from your traditional Ergzone workouts (where I like the specific pace guidance which avoids that you are fooling yourself), I have one question: How would you male sure to give the right effort in these workouts? Or would you justice docus in stroke rate and not worry too much about power / pace?
Hey! I'm really pleased you like these. To be honest, the most important guides here are the low intensity, and the 'max intensity' - once you know them, everything else falls inbetween naturally. However, there's a good reason I picked 20/24/30 and sprint as the constants. For those who are used to stroke rate and 2K based training, hopefully, naturally, they'd fall into 2k+ 18/12/2 and then sprint.
thanks for great workout! but perhaps more accurately described as 10 minute workout with 5 minute warmup. enjoyed it, got the HR up without too stressful a workout. 🎉
I did wrestle a bit with that. I landed on the decision that it's a 15 minute class - even though the main workout is only 10 minutes. If you think that could be misleading, let me know - as I want to make sure not to frustrate potential viewers!
Much prefer just you talking - and no music (call that music?); this isn't the format for me I'm afraid; at least you show the SPM so I can mute the 'music'; doesn't look like you're enjoying the experience........
You know, I'm actually quite heartened by this comment! At least it shows that what I normally do is working for some! The reason for this slight diversion (I'm only going to make 10 videos unless this suddenly takes off) is that over the years I've had a few requests (and comments) to do this. Less talking, and just music, as though it were a spin class. And yes, you picked up on my "I don't want to hear this rubbish" get out - by putting the info on screen, you can just hit mute and listen to whatever you want. That was a great workout. First row after 2 weeks vacation. Kept telling myself “I Can Do this” and I did! Thanks!!
Great job! You’re capable of more than you allow yourself to know.
Did not expect this to be so spicy 🥵

Wonderful! Have I turned you into a Euro House dance music lover too?

Amazing. Hopefully the series of 10 workouts will help (although I'm guessing by the time I get above 20 minutes + Warmup, it may be a bit too long)?
@@rowalong Maybe, but I'm hoping that the longer videos will help me find a little more time to exercise in the morning and still get to work on time.

This will be but a warmup for you!! I wasn’t sure if you were racing or not. I should have given you a shout out regardless. What time is your race?
Hey John I'm off at 1pm, like you a flight to catch!
