I love this idea! Sometimes influencers call certain products a dupe when it's inferior to the original product. I've found that sometimes it's better to spend a little more and get something that works well. I do love drugstore makeup, don't get me wrong- I think a lot of it is high-end quality. But some people jump the gun with dupes and just because the claims or packaging is somewhat close they'll say it's a dupe. TikTok is especially guilty of this.
I completely agree. The gun is jumped a lot and it's been that way sine I started watching UA-cam 5 years ago (I mean, as far as I know). Especially with formulas, it absolutely matters.
That up close photo comparison of under eye concealer was so helpful! That’s exactly the kind of detail I need when I’m considering product info- thanks!

This was so helpful! I've been lusting after the Cover FX blushes for a looooong time now, but I already have an ELF Bite-Size Face Duo. I'm inspired to pull it out and use it tomorrow and save myself the $38. Thank you :)
Get the Elf while you can. Those bite size blush/highlighter duos have disappeared from every Target, WalMart, CVS and Ulta store in my shopping safari range over the past few months. I wonder if they'll bring them back in a different, more expensive form?
@@MyCleverHandleYeah, I noticed that too. I bought backups last yr online when I saw them leaving physical stores. I think they made way for their putty blushes, but still keep the duos stocked on their website. I like the shade range in the elf duos as well. My fav is White Peach, which is such a lovely, true peachy blush. Cantaloupe is really unique - adds a great yellow tint for yellow undertoned eyeshadow looks. 🤩🍑💛
I love this video and how honest you were. The elf primer isnt a dupe at all for the Tatcha. I like both but I do prefer the l'oreal magic base primer. I do really like the elf lipsticks. I hope they add more shades to the line.
I love your dupe videos, you always give your honest take on each of the products. I have a small Benefit Roller Lash that I got to try again just to see if I still liked it for my eyes, it was a favorite years ago, and I do like it, but I think the Elf looks better and gives a bit more lift to your lashes. Definitely worth trying along with the O Face lipsticks as well.
One trick I learn from Tati is: once you have applied all your cream products and before applying any powder is to use a setting spray, let it dry for a few minutes and go over it with a damp sponge. For me, this as work so good. I feel that my makeup last longer. The damp sponge allows the cream products to blend better in to your skin.
Thank you so much for confirming that the ELF was not a dupe for the It cosmetics CC cream. I hated the Elf and couldn’t understand how so many loved it. Elf CC cream totally gave me cake face so thick and heavy.

I love your honesty! I would love a hard candy dupe like they gave a hydro grip primer that’s totally only 6 or 7$ i feel like they’ve kept their prices low and their products slap! Also they have or had a silk canvas dupe and i thought it was closer than elf’s

@@kristentrep5038 hmm...I don't really understand why this would be the case. Just in terms of ingredients used-there definitely isn't one set of ingredients in drug store products and then a completely different set in higher end products. Basically, what I'm trying to say is: they both are all over the place when it comes to the use of ingredients that could cause break outs &/or sensitivities , i.e. formulations with the use of various oils, fragrances, silicones, etc. Therefore, it would likely be more ingredient specific than cost specific.

Hi Jen! Just out of curiosity, do you think the elf CC cream would have looked better over the Tatcha primer? I could definitely see the difference between the Tatcha Silk canvas side and the elf putty primer side. The Tatcha really smoothed out your pores. I always thought the putty primer was a dupe for the Tatcha but clearly it’s not. Love your dupe vids!! Keep them coming! Also, do you think the elf Woah Glow sunscreen is a dupe for the Supergoop Glow Screen?
That's a good question but no. I've tried both the IT Cosmetics and the Elf Camo a bunch of different ways...on their own with no primer, over my favorite primers and the Elf one always looks more dry and cakey on me. I just prefer the IT CC Cream no matter what. 🥰
@@JenPhelps Awesome, thank you! I’ve been a fan of the IT CC cream for a long time but it is a bit pricey and after seeing some other reviews of ppl saying the elf Camo CC cream was a dupe I was thinking about getting it once my It Cosmetics runs out but now I know to steer clear. You and I are close in age with the same skin type, so I always trust your recommendations! ❤️🫶🏼
I agree. The camo concealer is drier. I thought the same thing about those putty dupes for Mac paint pots that they stopped making. I tossed them both out. I also feel like the elf brow pencils don't have much product in them.
Thanks Jen for these comparisons. I definitely want the elf blush and the lipstick 💄 I haven’t found the elf halo glow yet. Now I know which products to buy or not. I have the cream n sugar palette and I really love it for the price. 💜💜
Yes! The It Cosmetics CC+ Cream and Elf Camo CC Cream are NOT dupes on my skin. It Cosmetics looks so healthy and moisturizing on my super dry, 42yo skin. Plus, it doesn’t irritate me at all. The Elf looks beyond makeup-y and thick, and only gets worse throughout the day. I’m not sure how it looks on younger or even oilier skin, but it completely ages me. Not a fan!
I just placed a big order w elf n got the new glow spf that’s the dupe for the super goop glow screen. It’s so beautiful, no smell, doesn’t pill n is gorgeous under makeup. U definitely need to try❤ PS I’m 45yrs old for reference

I’d love to see you do this video with Milani I feel like they have put themselves into the dupe game recently and I’d love to see what you do and don’t think are dupes, oooooo and maybe colourpop as well would be great as I feel colour pop hasn’t seemed to raise there prices as much as drugstore lately, maybe Moira as well, sorry for so many but I got excited lol 😊❤️
I always buy the IT cosmetics for spring and summer every year since its inception. I find sometimes foundation dupes will not translate on more mature skin. I received the Tarte regular shape tape by accident and I really don’t like it. I use it as a mixer with a serum or light lotion and it works brilliantly.
Ok off topic but over the last 6 months I swear your hair has like doubled in volume 😮❤ can you do a hair care routine? Or talk about some hair care favorites?
My hairdresser would disagree with you, haha but thanks! She's always telling me I don't have a lot of hair and it's so fine...etc. I usually get volume by blow drying it upside down and then using the curling iron. I don't put a lot of products in it because they tend to weigh my hair down. I use the Go Blonder shampoo and conditioner from John Frieda most days and then the Dry Bar leave in conditioner spray. 🥰
Hi, Jen! I'd love to know what blush brushes you're using with the ColorFX and elf blushes! Looks so fluffy and delightful, and imparts such a sheer wash of color!
It's so cool how you can wear totally different products on each side of your face and they are a seamless transition and you can't really tell the difference! Such a cool video! Love when you do these dupes!
I love your idea and really enjoyed your video I was going to purchase elf camo instead of it cosmetics but now I think it cosmetics is better thanks to you
I loved this video so much! I just tried out the Halo Glow and absolutely LOVE how it makes my skin look. I've been wanting to try the Lash & Roll because I love Roller Lash but it's a little too spendy--I'm excited to know it's a true dupe! And I was so glad to see you cover the O Face lipstick. When it came out it didn't really draw my attention because it just seemed like your standard lipstick, but seeing how it dupes the Nars product, I'm much more interested in trying it now! Thanks Jen!!
Great idea ! Once someone reviews a product as a dupe ,it becomes fact , but you have demonstrated that not all dupes are equal , Sometimes this doesn’t matter depending on what your main goals are for example , the blush you compared , while not a dupe , is still a very worthy contender and so worth having if it’s the look your going for thank you as always an honest comparison from a trustworthy utuber , many thanks Jen . You rock !!!!
Camo cc cream is definitely amazing for me. If you moisturise and then prime right away and blend with a blending sponge you never get that clingy thickness and it covers pores perfectly
Jen, your videos are the best! Question, Did you decide to go for a warmer toner for your highlights? I remember when you got them done the time before now you were worried they toned it too cool, but I loved it. I like your hair both ways! I’m trying to figure out what toner to use on my hair, and I have similar coloring to you and I’m curious because you did cool last time, and warmer this time, how you decided to change it? I feel like I’m “supposed to” have cooler toned hair because I have cool/pink coloring, but my hair tends to be warmer, and I don’t mind it warmer… but I loved your hair cool toned blonde, and when you got that done, I wanted that same look. (Can you tell I have no friends to talk to about these things?).
I felt the same way! Because I have a cool pink undertone I asked for a cooler blonde but it turned out gray looking. Maybe it was just too cool but I felt like it made me look older so this time when I went back I asked for a warmer blonde. I told her not too warm but kind of more neutral and she said, "like a butter blonde?" and that was it! :)
Great video! The Camo concealer is my fave, but it and the Tarte were so hard to get a color match with, as they both oxidized to a different shade when dry.

Thanks Jen for these comparisons. I definitely want the elf blush and the lipstick 💄 I haven’t found the elf halo glow yet. Now I know which products to buy or not. I have the cream n sugar palette and I really love it for the price. 💜💜
Great video Jen, thank you! I’m enjoying a coffee, waking up and enjoying the dupes!☕️👍❤️
I totally disagree with that other channel.. I think you are doing great! I always enjoy your videos! So don’t worry about the hater’s! They are jealous! Your awesome! Keep doing you!!! Your an original. 😊
I wouldn’t even give them a thought or a mention there trash 🗑 & pure evil I honestly never knew or seen it …
shows who supported freakiness because he’s no longer around thank the lord Jesus Christ 🙏🏻
Milani has gotten so expensive lately....I feel like might as well shell out a few dollars more and get the original.
As always, an excellent theme and information!
So cool that you show us your skin! Love your videos Jen!!💕💕
Great video. So helpful for us. Idea for future video.... change up the end to 3 options. Dupes, amazing alts, & not dupes.
Love this video! Please do more dupes videos. Love your hair❤️
Thanks Jen, love these videos! 💗
I always buy the IT cosmetics for spring and summer every year since its inception. I find sometimes foundation dupes will not translate on more mature skin. I received the Tarte regular shape tape by accident and I really don’t like it. I use it as a mixer with a serum or light lotion and it works brilliantly.
Love this video!! You are the best beauty UA-camr and know that you would never copy anyone!!!💗
the blush(es) look(s) soooooo good!
Love this video Jen! Thank you!!!❤❤❤
Yes, again...luv it ! 👏 Btw, Jenn, you are kickin' Butt in your video's ! So Full of Great Info. Thanks for All your Hard Work...it is SHOWING 👌❤️
Excellent video
Would love to see another one of these dupe videos. Thanks so much for all the work you put into these comparisons. Much love always, Amanda😻💗😘💖
@@JenPhelps thanks so much for replying!!! And pssh if you don’t have a lot of hair, then consider me bald 😭🤣
Fabulous comparisons, thank you ❤!!!
I love how down to the nitty gritty u get , u know so much and really do ur research I appreciate that! U put in so much effort and it shows❤️
@Dr. Christopher Johnson hello I'm from sunny florida!
Jen ur makeup game is in fleek I’ve really improved your technique u look great
Always love how honest you are when it comes to dupes!!❤❤
Really great content with this video! Thank you for all the effort in showing the comparisons. Hope you’re having a lovely week!
Outstanding content as always🎉
Jen, your content is hands down better than Jeffree’s. No comparison ❤
Great video ❤does any of the little blush pallets from ELF dupe any other high end blushes 😊
Loved the way you did this video 👍👍👍... very clear info on what is and is not a dupe... Thank You VERY much 🥰
Love this video!! Well done.
Fantastic work Jen thank you so much 👍💕
This is good to know great video Jen❤
Yes, again and again and again!
The Elf lipstick looks amazing! I need to look for that one!
Thank you for another great video 💖
Yay elf is my favourite! Looking forward to your thoughts. 😊
I've found a violet tone looks better than a blue for highlights. Both are considered cool.
@@JenPhelps Thank you, now I know what to ask for!
Great video! The Camo concealer is my fave, but it and the Tarte were so hard to get a color match with, as they both oxidized to a different shade when dry.
Hi Jen
What other primer will be good to used with the It CC cream for dry mature skin?
I found you because I wanted to know more about Revlon. Please do more on that brand. Thank you!
