Hi, my name is Jen I am 44 and live in Connecticut with my husband and 8 year old son. I am a stay-at-home Mom and full-time UA-camr with a degree in business with a focus in marketing. Before leaving work when my son was born, I was a commercial lender at a bank. I also worked at Sephora and Macy's doing visual merchandising.
I have dry skin with some hyperpigmentation and fine lines. I love natural makeup looks but occasionally go outside my comfort zone a little bit. On my channel you'll find lots of videos about drugstore makeup and drugstore dupes (those are my favorites to film!) but I also review high-end makeup as well. These videos are so helpful Jen! I'm in my late 60's on a fixed income, and I still adore makeup and wear it every day. So dupes are exactly what I need and appreciate so much!
Wow the L'oreal bronzer looks so much smoother than the Haus Labs one. I have the L'oreal and love it so I'm not sure why I keep buying more bronzers because I always like it the best and reach for it the most.
Yup! It's so much smoother and honestly my favorite bronzer right now!
I love how you applied the bronzer. A big brush, dusted all over instead of in a sharp, exact way like most people. So much more realistic.
Thank you! I've always used bronzer to softly warm up my skin rather than to contour with it...I don't like how harsh that looks. :)

I love the Believe Beauty foundation. So inexpensive and so good. I also like their radiant skin primer and the concealer they make.
Try their makeup brushes if you need to! Really nice!
Their mascara is fabulous too. I’ve tried a couple of them.

The eyeshadow palettes reminded me a bit of Profusion’s 10-pan palette in “Shimmers”. Really great formula and very affordable.
I love the Ulta mineral blushes! The shade peony is a beautiful baby pink and it’s blurring. I thought of Ofra blushes when I tried it.

Jen, when it comes to dupes, I am finding that -while they can look quite similar - sometimes the dupes just don’t withstand the wear test. For example, the Dior bright pink blush, even if duped, has a very long wear time (which is hard to find in a blush) that others just can’t compete with. Maybe you can share what your make up looks like at the end of your busy day to see how they hold up?
I had actually planned on doing that but the video got so long already that I didn't want to add more to it. I completely agree with you on this point. Thankfully the dupes in this video held up extremely well...even better than the high end in some cases. For example the Ulta and Milani blushes were extra pigmented compared to the Gucci and Haus Labs and almost stained my cheeks so they lasted longer on me than the high end ones did. Also the Believe Foundation holds up very well on me too! The Revlon lipstick and Tarte lipstick both have similar lasting power which isn't very long because they're a glossy balmy texture. Surprisingly the LA Girl eyeshadow held up just as well as the Sigma and again I think because it was more pigmented. That sparkly blue topper from Sigma faded very quickly while the pale blue in the LA Girl held up a lot better. 🥰

I love the blush on the drugstore and on the high end it has faded off the cheek already by the end of the video and on the drugstore side it's the perfect color to go with your eyeshadow and I'll just drapes together beautifully

Believe Beauty foundation looks amazing!
I remember hearing SO many people raving about the BECCA highlighters, so one day I was able to get a mini one to try. I really didn't care for the formula or how it looked on my skin. It was so dry & left glitter on my face. I felt the Essence Pure Nude highlighter looked so much better for way lower of a price tag.

Hi Jen! I love that you do these dupes so much. When we owned our motel, going and buying any type makeup was no big deal. Now, since I’m retired and on a set income every month, it’s not like that at all. And that’s just fine but I have to be more aware of my purchases. So, these dupes are fantastic!! I don’t like to spend more money than I need to anyway. I thank you for your videos Jen. They really help a girl out especially with todays high prices for everyday life.

This is the 1st time I've guess wrong for which is the highend side. I'm just so amazed! I do own both palettes and I love them. La girl does have a very good eyeshadow formula. I have the same issue with my left eye brow. Some of the hairs are down. I will say the got 2 b hair glue is the best thing I've tried. It really holds them up.

I’ve been using the Got2B for a while on my brows-it also comes in a black ultra glued version. I buy the little 25 oz tube. Works better than the Nyx or Almay brow gels, though those 2 are good

I have that revlon formula in rum raisin, and it is a beauty! I think it's a shade that you'd like, it's a rosy toned nude, kind of a "your lips but better" shade

I love this idea so much. So many times we forget that we have amazing stuff at home. And I love an alternative for the Sigma palette. I have pretty much realized I don’t mind to pay a high end price for a neutral palette because I know I’m going to use it a ton but some of the more colorful palettes I’m better to look for a more affordable alternative because I know I won’t reach for it as much. Such a great job, as always Jen!
I bought cColor palettes thru Amazon based on Jen’s opinion and I love them.

Jen I'm sorry you spent money on some of these products. However your subscribers appreciate all your hard work on saving us money! Sometimes I think people expect dupes to be exactly the same. I think, like you said, if it reminds you of something similar it counts. I've gotten to where I prefer a lot of drug store- especially elf, LA girl, essence, flower, colourpop, ulta especially to high end.
Yes! I get those comments a lot, where people say it's not a dupe because of one reason or another but that's not really the point. Something similar can help viewers avoid buying the new thing if it's close enough! :) I've thought about not putting "dupes" in the title, but it's a good keyword for search and if I title it something like, "alternatives to new makeup" no one is searching for that and no one will find this video. But I can see why some people who are sticklers about dupes get upset. :)

The Loral bronzer is my favorite this summer, as is the Milani blushes. I am definitely going to try those Revlon lip glosses. I refuse to spend so much money on some of these products! No reason to, when you show us cost saving products.
