I have two of them - and like them! - but as they fade, the stain color isn't always exactly what the actual product looked like color-wise when first applied. It seems to me like there are maybe certain color compounds in the formula that last longer than others so it skews the actual "stain" left behind. I find - at least on me - they skew kind of pink. I don't mind the final color at all, but know others have been disappointed by the color shift, which I get. Was that your experience?
same - but I also have that with the ColourPop and Flower Beauty ones. especially noticeable when my waterline ends up a different color from the rest of my lip. throwing a colored balm on at that point helps a little
Great video! My go-to elf products are the bite size eye palettes (I have like 7 of them; good choice for eyeshadow beginners), camo concealers (both satin and matte), brow pencils and the flawless concealer brush (their brushes are hit or miss for me so I'm glad this was a hit! 😊). I do like their lip stains; I have spicy sienna and berry queen. It's a good one for experimenting with lip stain without investing in a pricier product. (EDIT) I'm tempted to get the power mauve one to coincide with or slightly dupe the CT pillow talk along with a liner. I like their grip primer and other primers they have (though I'm not much of an expert of primers and never really found a use for them except for creating a barrier between my skincare and makeup), especially the matte version of the pore putty. I like their setting powder; nice simple affordable option. Haven't had one since as I like my lys.
The flawless foundation is completely under rated! I was wearing that foundation, almost a complete face of elf, when a family emergency happened. I ended up in and out of hospital, traveling and being up for over 36 hours... I got ssssoooo many compliments on my makeup from complete strangers it was unbelievable. I figured they were just being sarcastic, that I looked like a hungover racoon but ... Lol.. upon inspection? Everything was intact and absolutely "flawless!".
@@mariesikk I just looked and they must've stopped making it! That's so annoying! The only other drugstore black eyebrow pencil I've found is the Maybelline one
elf has been the most exciting brand from the drugstore for a few years now to me, so even when I’m not looking for new purchases I love seeing reviews of their products! The Flawless Brightening Skin Concealer is so good. I’m breaking my no-buy to grab the Halo Glow Liquid Filter 😇
I've loved elf since they first went as eyeslipsface and had $1 makeup. Nowadays, I'm trying to buy more drugstore makeup since I don't use it as often anymore. Love how they're duping some popular, more expensive makeup
I like the Elf powder foundation, but I’ve got oily skin. I think the eye shadow formula is only ok, but the price point is great. I love the makeup removing balm-it works just as well as super high end options.
I love elf so much, they have really stepped up their game! My faves are the new halo glow mixed with the putty primer, the hydrating camo concealer, and then the brow pencil in the white package that is like $3!
Happy Friday to you! I just ordered your collab with Sigma! I’ve never, ever bought a collab before, but I really want to support you. Plus, that mini enchanted palette has been calling to me lol.
I have dry flaky skin and the poreless putty primer helps foundation go on top of my dry skin so much better than not using it. I don’t use it for the pore filling properties but still love it!
I’m in love with this video! I’ve been looking for a youtuber talking about e.l.f products because I’ve been so confused on what to buy. This video is by far the best and most informative one I’ve watched about e.l.f! Thank you so much :))
Out of the bit size face duos, I found the watermelon and lychee ones have the best formulation out of all of them (watermelon one is the best one of them all). The rest the blush is good and highlight is not good. Avoid the coconut one, the blush part is ok but the highlight on this is almost pressed glitter.
Love your look today Kelly, 70s summer vibe. I tried the Lash It Loud mascara earlier this year and was totally disappointed ☹️ so I declined to try the Big Mood. I like Camo Creams, so I tried this one, it is thick, thanks for suggesting the other foundation. Looking forward to the vid about drugstore mascaras, Happy Friday💕🌸🏵️
I must defend the Bite Size Brow! I don't need serious hold or to draw on hair, so I bought it for the powders. The Dark Brown powders are quite dark and not red at all. The tinted wax/pomade is great in a hurry because it's a little sheer. My only issue is that the deeper powder shattered, but I can be pretty rough on-the-go.
My favorite brow pencil is the one in the white packaging, the instant lift brow pencil. They come in a two pack for $5 and they stay all day for me. I love love the brow wow gel and have repurchased several times. Edit: Raspberry in the Seriously Satin lipstick is the most amazing red if you haven't tried it. It stays so well and is the only red I wear.
Yes to the wow brow!! I have blonde eyebrows that are more sparce than I'd like to due over plucking in the early 2000s. Lol. It actually helps fill in without looking fake! I use the NYX lift and snatch to draw some hairs in there to make it look more realistic and I've gotten so many compliments.
I can't believe how tough the Ride or Die Lip Balm is to get out of the tube. Funny enough, just last night I cut off the end and squeezed it into a pot. I hope that I use it more now. It spent months in the drawer because of that darn original packaging.
I also hated the elf camo so the other day I got the other elf foundation you always recommended and it is an amazing skin like foundation! Love it and love your videos :)
I’ve put the Flawless Finish in my cart so many times “because Kelly loves it and it’s $6” and then taken it out because “I already have more foundation than I need” always wins the argument 😂 maybe someday!
The Uoma by Sharon C lip stain/ oil from Walmart might be your best bet for a Fenty lip stain dupe. They're super pigmented and glossy and give a really nice stain. They have lots if really pretty colors too!
You’re not kidding about the Ride or Die lip balms! I hold it between my thighs while doing my skincare routine or makeup depending on when I wanted to use it, so that by the time I got to it, it was soft and easy to squeeze out. I also adore the Elf Sheer Slick lipsticks, but NOBODY talks about them! They are hydrating and comfortable, give a beautiful shine, and most of the colors are bright, summer pop-of-color perfection! With a few more fall/winter/spring or everyday appropriate. I’m obsessed with them! ❤️ I also enjoy using their brow wax stick, Shape and Stay, I think? I don’t like super hold type of products, but this adds just a little extra hold. I use it with the two brow products you mentioned, the precise pencil and wow brow gel, which as you mentioned has very little hold. I run the stick over my brows, run a spoolie through to shape, use the pencil to fill, spoolie again to distribute and blend, and set/fill again with the wow brow. Quick, easy, cheap routine. It’s only a couple of bucks! Putty blushes are amazing too, love most of their blushes and highlighters. Like their powder bronzer, and some of their mascara’s are pretty good. ELF is my favorite brand! I also got their recent gaming palette, and it’s fantastic! I also love mixing the Camo CC cream with tinted moisturizers. Makes a great fuller coverage mixer.
I totally agree with you on the cc cream. I hated it. I tried mixing it with another cream for a while but still couldn’t stand it and chucked it in the bin.
Their bite size eyeshadows really are so good, my favorite one is Rose Water 🌹 And I also love their ultra precise brow pencil too! That’s the one I’m currently using… you also mentioned Milani conceal + perfect concealer and I just recently bought that one and I’m really liking it! Good coverage and lasts on me all day and doesn’t crease. I tend to agree with you so much on your opinions of products!! Whether it’s something you like or don’t like.
I feel validated now Kelly, so thanks! LOL. I've never liked the Camo CC cream nor the concealers! I agree the hydrating one is better but I don't really like either of them. They both seem so cakey! There are better options at the drug store that give great coverage without all the caking. I love so many elf products though! Both the wow brow and the brow pencil work beautifully, I love the primer-infused powder blushes, I like a lot of the eyeshadow quads, I'm a new fan (based on your recommendation!) of the Flawless Finish foundation - SO GORGEOUS - and the hydrating core lip shine in Happy is like my number one ride or die lip product. I'm on my....fourth tube? I love how soft and hydrating it is and the color is like my lips but better. I have one on my desk, one in my purse, one in my makeup collection and I have at least one backup on hand just in case! I'm not sure I'm as sold on the gripping primer but I'm still trying it out.
I hated the camo cc powder foundation! It looks horrible on my oily skin and breaks up with a few hours. It’s funny you didn’t really like the hydrating camo concealer because I love that one! I let it sit before blending it out and I get good coverage (I have 3 kids and insomnia- I’ve got some dark circles lol).
Great video and I agree with so many of these opinions, I love elf so much. I was surprised with those seriously satin lipsticks because they remind me of a very pigmented matte lip balm formula, so cheap but so good. The creme shade is a must-have for lightening and neutralizing another lipstick that's too bright or for making a nude lip even more nude. I'm a 45 and have very dark circles, texture and fine lines. I've tried so many drugstore concealers. These two elf ones are my absolute favorites. First I use that brightening concealer pen, just a small amount only in the dark blue area in the lightest cool shade they sell (slightly pink to neutralize). Then I use the elf hydrating camo concealer shade that matches my skin tone to go over that first layer after it dries. That combination is perfection, it doesn't crease, it stays all day, and it really disguises the dark circle. I wonder if you were thinking of the elf lash out loud mascara. It's very black, volumizing and it's a favorite, it just has a spiky wand so you have to be careful at your lash line. I did not like the new lashbeats or the big mood either. They both smudged and flaked on me
I bought 140W, it isn’t too yellow (my skin tone is jaundice), but it is a touch dark. I use a very fluffy brush to apply it because anything more dense apples WAY too much product.
Happy Friday! I feel like there is so much from elf I haven’t tried, but I use some of their things like primers, brow gel, and the halo glow powder as staples
I love the wow brow gel. Its the only one I use. I like most of their brow products, their shades match me well. As for powder foundation, finishing pwdr. They have or had a silver compact, came with a poof. I really enjoy that one, it doesnt break me out. I find my eyes burn like a volcano with their eye shadows though.. great in depth video!
ELF is so much more expensive here in Australia, and the popular products are always out of stock *everywhere*. I've managed to order the Power Grip Primer ($24) twice, from different retailers, and had my order cancelled due to lack of stock both times. (In fact, I can't find a cruelty-free, gropping primer instock for under $30 from any brand.) The Brow Lift Applicator is easy to find, but you can forget buying the actual Brow Lift product, it's been unavailable forever. Very frustrating, as primer and brow hold are the two products I'm yet to find that work for me, and I feel like ELF's versions might be exactly what I need!
I'm liking their toner in the yellow packaging. 💛 Unfortunately, both hyaluronic acid and sodium hyaluronate dry my skin out to the point of cracked eczema, so I must be very careful reading ingredients before I use anything these days. That means sometimes having to skip something I wanted to try 😑 like the grip primer or camo concealer
@@celeste8157 Yes, still happens. I have favorites with HA/SH in them that never bothered me years ago but do now. I'm a new mom and this might just be a post partum weirdness going on.
Love Elfs Brow Wow, Bite size shadows, and their seriously satin lipstick, especially the shade Raspberry. I also just got their stain and am trying it out. But I do love their bite size duo blush and highlight. The shade Watermelon is amazing for summer when you mix the highlight with the blush. It's my favorite right now!! Great video!! ❤️
I bought the CC cream because I wanted an affordable CC cream with SPF. After trying it for a few weeks I’ve decided I really dislike it. Other than that I have a lot of ELF products I like. I have one of the matte crayons in “putty” that I enjoy as a really fast one & done eyeshadow. It doesn’t budge! Color is kinda weird but it looks nice.
I bought the primer infused bronzer as well as the earth and ocean palette off of your recommendation and absolutely love both! 😍 However, not the biggest fan of the srsly satin lipstick.. i got one in „nectar“ and I adore the color, but it really doesn’t stay very long on my lips. 🙊 definitely would like to try some other products you mentioned like the flawless finish foundation, the wow brow and the power grip primer 🤗
I've been needing to get some lip stains because none of my lip products ever stay. How did this one wear? Have you/ Would you do a lip stain (or best lip products) drugstore video? Oh and I meant to leave this on your last video but just a random drugstore mascara the essence (I 💗extreme crazy volume) I bought it from a recommendation (but it wasn't even the right one) but I ended up really enjoying it.. so far anyway!
yes I got the cameo cc cream and instantly hated it. It turned pure orange on me and looked so heavy and thick. I only used it like twice before giving it away and I don’t even think the person I gave it to likes it😅
The eyeshadow sticks are my favorite! I got the black and brown ones from Cookies and Dream line... No joke, they do not budge. I use them as eyeliner because they don't run down my eyes. They are phenomenal.
I love the wow brow, it’s the only thing I use. I still have a lot of brow hairs but waxing back in the day did cause a sparse area, so I use it there. To me the wow brow is more natural than using a pencil. (I’m 36 but i was late to the thin eyebrow trend lol maybe that’s why I still have so much brow hair) Also I hated the camo cc foundation as well. I’m not sure how to describe how it looked on me, it settled into pores, but did this weird thing lol I wish I knew the words for it but it was awful lol.
First of all, you're so beautiful. I've been buying a lot of ELF lately and we both agree on the same things. I dislike the putty and camo lines. But I recently went to Ulta and asked "look nothing high end in this store has lasted on my brows all day! What drugstore product do you recommend? She said hands down the ELF pencil." She was right.
Good video. I'll be honest, I don't think ELF products are particularly good aside from being affordable and vegan. I find their skincare products are bad and the majority of the makeup is nothing special. I'm with you on the blush. The blush is fine however in general there aren't that many variations among different blushes except if some have talc in it. I found no difference between cheap blushes and more expensive ones. I also fully agree with you on the mascara. The Big Mood is terrible. Easily one of the worst mascaras I have ever used.
Agree on the camo cc cream . It’s so dry and thick . Not for me I tried so hard to love it . Literally the only way I could wear it is if I mixed it with a skin tint .
I absolutely cannot stand the smell of the Flawless Finish Foundation (why does no one talk about the fragrance??!)! Which is a bummer because I think it is underrated in performance. But that fragrance (really strong and bad perfume) is enough for me to never reach for it! If they take that fragrance out, it would be a staple for me. I use the Camo CC Cream as a mix-in with my lighter coverage products such as the Wet n Wild Tinted Hydrator or my Nudestix Tinted Cover Foundation and it works that way much better than on its own.
the camo CC cream seems to be a love or hate product, i haven't come across anyone yet who just found it to be mediocre - they either loved it or despised it lol. question about the halo glow setting powder.....on their site, the color swatch image up close looks like it has shimmer in it? but i don't see mica in the ingredients. does it have a shimmer at all? also, just gotta add, your comment about your eye look with your lemon-lime top? actually it's perfect because they're complimentary on the color wheel. :) i think it looks good!
The Halo Glow Setting Powder does have a sheen to it. It's not glittery or anything like that. I bought it, but I have oily skin, and I am afraid that I will look *too* glowy in it, LOL! I have heard other reviews, and it seems to be a well-liked product. Hope this helps! ~Anastacia in Cleveland
I’d love some alternatives for the Fenty Lip stain. I also love the shimmer and heat lip bomb glosses from Fenty. But they’re pricy and it would be nice to get alternatives/dupes.
I seen they have a big universal putty primer now. I felt that the original is just meh 🫤 but the matte one actually for me does something. And it’s not as drying on me as the original. For me also the elf jelly pop dew was my favorite. The power grip is ok not as good in my opinion as the jelly pop, the mint melt is ok.
I completely disagree with the comment about the camo hydrating concealer and camo cc cream. I think it was what I was using as a primer, but at first the camo cc cream was super cakey on me too. But now it’s my favorite to use when it’s summertime or on sunny days. The camo hydrating concealer is my holy grail. I have combo/oily skin and only use setting spray (Nyx matte is also a holy grail). The regular cami concealer was too thick and drying. The hydrating one conceals my dry, dark eye circles like no other. I’ve gone through so many lol I also like the brow palette and putty bronzer lol I can’t get on board with their eyeshadows, idk what it is. Other elf products I love: acne putty primer, camo cc powder (I use it on top of liquid foundation for my t-zone or all over to make sure I don’t sweat if I’m outside), putty blush, lip exfoliators, and hydrating lip core. Also really like the cookies and dreams face mask that you wash off, and the gentle peeling exfoliant.
The Gentle Peeling Exfoliant - yesss! It's the only exfoliant that I can use on my sensitive skin. I also love the Camo hydrating concealer on my aging undereyes. I don't set it with powder because *any* powder under my eyes ages me 20 years! Rather, I spritz my beauty sponge with some setting spray and pat it over the concealer. It's funny that I have to use a hydrating concealer when the rest of my face is oily! Cheers! ~Anastacia in Cleveland
ELF has sooo many good products - my FAVORITE primer is from them and i think they discontinued it... The Mint Melt Primer ... which i guess is now the power grip? (but in my opinion the power grip just is not the same.)
I like a few balm format lip and face products that tend to get stiff in the winter. I pop a tube into my cleavage while I’m prepping my face and the balm quickly warms enough to apply easily. If the cleavage is not ample to hold anything, thank your genes for making it easier for you to wear fashionable clothing, and stick that tube into an armpit or behind a knee if you sit to apply makeup (I stand). I used my new elf Ultra Precise Brow pencil for the first time yesterday and my brows looked the same all day from application to washing my face last night. No movement, migration, or fading. Bananas! I’m going to try it out a few more times but I think it’s my new forever brow pencil. You look so lovely today! Your skin is perfection!
I do love a lot elf products - make up and skin scare. I don’t like the camo crème.. it was thick and creases too much on me same with the 16 hr concealer. I do like the hydrating concealer one but I still prefer milanis conceal and perfect .. and
the camo cc is a no for me, too (not color, but texture), and while I love the look of the flawless, the overwhelming fragrance triggers my rosacea and my scent sensitivity. here's hoping their next one fills the goldilocks bill
In my country, Elf is not that affordable. For example, the bite size palettes are, if you calculate IT to American dollars, I would say around eight, nine dollars. Not expensive, but a different category than in America. I tried a few Elf products: a lipstick, I don't remember the name, it was fine. The halo glow powder, wich I hated. Two bite size eyeshadow palettes, both decluttered since. Really don't understand why these are so hyped, they were very mediocre to me. And a primer infused blush, wich was nice. Overall not greatly impressed by Elf.
An update on the lip stain: it lasted pretty well! I’m excited to keep testing it :)
I have two of them - and like them! - but as they fade, the stain color isn't always exactly what the actual product looked like color-wise when first applied. It is best lasting lip product I have ever tried, any brand
same - but I also have that with the ColourPop and Flower Beauty ones. especially noticeable when my waterline ends up a different color from the rest of my lip. throwing a colored balm on at that point helps a little

Do u mean the flawless filter liquid? Cause I finally just got my hands on it!
I’m still mad that elf doesn’t make an eyebrow pencil or tinted brow gel for people with black eyebrows.
I’m unsure if the still have it, but they make a potted brow pomade/eyeliner type of thing and I owned the black one at one point
The precise pencil comes in black and I love it! Would definitely recommend

The other one is much better!

I agree with your opinion about the Putty Bronzer. It disappears so fast!.
They both smudged and flaked on me
Thanks Kelly! I miss elf's undereye primer.
You look stunning and I'm loving your top and nails!!
I bought the halo glow powder because of you. Do not regret it at all!
It's the best!!
do you like the putty blushes? i just bought the luminous formula in isla del sol and i love it so far!
YES! The Halo Glow powder is my favorite 😊
Sooo good!!
I absolutely love your top!
as a longtime elf girl, thank u lol. i haven’t bought much new makeup the past three years & they have SO many new products…
Any lip balm that is hard to push out goes into my bra while I prep for them lmao it warms it up real quick
Omg I have the same nails on!!! They’re a vibe
My makeup collection is pretty much ELF, NYX and Colourpop.
Happy affordable Friday!!!
Andrea mantillao just posted this same video! It’s nice to see different views on the same-ish products!
Love her!!
Will you be trying the powder foundation from fenty vs elf for the dupes video too? :))
Are you applying it on damp skin?
Thanks for the video! Was the lip stain long lasting?
Yes it was!
Could not agree more about the putty bronzer! I had two different colors and POOF they would both disappear on me too!
I only used it like twice before giving it away and I don’t even think the person I gave it to likes it😅
Yeah! So excited for this video!!!💕
One of my favorite brow pencils are the elf 2-3$ brow pencil in the white package/tube
interesting about the CC cream
I liked the formula but their lightest shade was too dark for me so I decluttered it
That's all I use for my brows is the Wow Brow Gel...I've used up 3 since it came out!
(I’m 36 but i was late to the thin eyebrow trend lol maybe that’s why I still have so much brow hair)
Also I hated the camo cc foundation as well.
Your top is so cool! 💚💚
I’ve been wanting to try the ride or die lip balms. I keep telling myself I don’t need ANOTHER pink lip balm… now maybe I think I do lol 🥰
It makes my lips sooo dry!
Agree on the camo cc cream . It’s so dry and thick . Not for me I tried so hard to love it . Literally the only way I could wear it is if I mixed it with a skin tint .
I’ve had two misses with the camo powder foundation and now i’m waiting till they have a sale again to try to find my shade 😭
The flawless finish foundation made me sooooo oily
i wanted to say you look so good in green, love ur vids
It's a fact that my skin is more yellow tone when I'm anemic. Yellow works for me sadly, since I don't take my iron every day.
Which color do you use with the Halo Glow Liquid Filter
the camo CC cream seems to be a love or hate product, i haven't come across anyone yet who just found it to be mediocre - they either loved it or despised it lol. question about the halo glow setting powder.....on their site, the color swatch image up close looks like it has shimmer in it? but i don't see mica in the ingredients. does it have a shimmer at all? also, just gotta add, your comment about your eye look with your lemon-lime top? actually it's perfect because they're complimentary on the color wheel.
I’m testing out a few now!
@@KellyGooch That’s awesome!😊
I seen they have a big universal putty primer now.
I felt that the original is just meh 🫤 but the matte one actually for me does something. And it’s not as drying on me as the original.
For me also the elf jelly pop dew was my favorite. The power grip is ok not as good in my opinion as the jelly pop, the mint melt is ok.
I found the matte to be super drying. But the acne one I love, I literally just emptied it lol
@@RoKer13 I haven’t tried the acne one.
It sounds nice. The original was very drying on me but I can see where the Matte could be drying too
I also hated the Elf camo cc cream! I thought I was the only one.
20 seconds in.... omg that top!!!!! 🤩🤩😛
The top reminds me of the halter tops worn in the 1970s (yes, I am that old, LOL!). It's so pretty! ~Anastacia in Cleveland
ELF has sooo many good products - my FAVORITE primer is from them and i think they discontinued it... The Mint Melt Primer ... which i guess is now the power grip? (but in my opinion the power grip just is not the same.)
I thought the same thing! I really like the mint melt too.
@@caitk6016 they need to bring it back!! It’s on their site but as “sold out” 😞
Please what eyeliner you used
you haven't tried there liquid/creme blush?
Loved this video, thank you💕
I like a few balm format lip and face products that tend to get stiff in the winter.
I love the lip balm tip!
I do love a lot elf products - make up and skin scare. I don’t like the camo crème.. it was thick and creases too much on me same with the 16 hr concealer. I do like the hydrating concealer one but I still prefer milanis conceal and perfect .. and
The flawless brightening concealer is my favorite, I'm on my third one! if anyone is considering it, I would go for it, it's only $6.
I just readElf is reformulating their Camo CC cream
the camo cc is a no for me, too (not color, but texture), and while I love the look of the flawless, the overwhelming fragrance triggers my rosacea and my scent sensitivity. here's hoping their next one fills the goldilocks bill
Did I miss the primer infused blushes??
I haven't tied them!
Omgggg you look like Amy adams!! First time watching your videos, I’m now a new subscriber 😍
Thank you so much!!
What about blush?
So helpfull, thank you !
wait, the halo glow liquid filter is actually NOT a foundation but a PRIMER???
Kelly: I, too prefer the ELF Flawless Foundation. The Camo CC Foundation has NO shade for my skin color!
Another great video. TGIF.
I only use the poreless putty primer because I bought it. It doesn't do anything for my skin, lol.
