Nyx bare concealer is seriously the best! I wouldn’t say it’s full coverage but it’s so hydrating and skin like which I love!!

@@leilahhh6904 absolutely! You can definitely build it up a little more. I have naturally dark circles and just got so tired of wearing full coverage concealer that would either crease or look extremely dry under my eyes. I’ve tried so many concealers, and this one I’ve been the most happy with. I started to become self-conscious from the creasing. I felt like it was aging me. This looks so pretty and natural. Especially if it’s a day, you just wanna wear some concealer, blush, and mascara. With this concealer, I just use my fingers and pat it on gently. That way you get the most out of your product.

I think when it comes to dupes vs high end just pick your battles! Splurge on those minor differences that are super important for you and your skin and save on the small things that for you aren't as essential!

thank you!! omg the elf power grip doesn’t work well with my skincare when i do sunscreen. one of my pet peeves in makeup are when products don’t mix with other products or skincare. i find that tapping the elf power grip helps to minimize the breakdown of the skincare underneath, just a tip for anyone else experiencing this issue

I've tried to find a Thrive dupe but the formula is just superior.
Hi Jasmine! I have very straight lashes too and a tip that I use to keep them curled all day is to apply eye primer (NOT LASH PRIMER, the one for your eyelids!!!) on the lashes and use a spoolie to brush it through a little bit. Once it’s dry you can use any mascara (does not need to be waterproof) and I PROMISE it works!!!
The reason this works is because eye primer uses some of the same ingredients that are used in waterproof mascara. It is also easier for it to come off once you wash it off. A makeup artist named Alexandra Anele is the one who shared this tip here on UA-cam

For a drugstore primer, L'Oreal has an eyelash primer called Voluminous Primer you may want to try.

I agree. When it comes to lip products, nothing is worth $40. It's better to invest that money on a foundation, powder, primer, etc.
Great video as always!! I really enjoyed your videos a lot!! I like the Thrive mascara!! It does have a wet formula to it but it differently makes my lashes more fuller cause I too have small lashes! It does smudge a little through out the day but that's not a problem for me!! It only does it a little bite! I love the elf and milk face primers!! They are really good and last all day!! I love the elf spf lotion!! It is really good! I also love the elf puddy liquid primer!! I also love the elf Halo glow foundation and contour!! Blends in nice on the face!! I loved the elf Halo glow collection!! Those were my go too last year!! I love elf makeup!! They have a good affordable makeup, yet great quality!! 😊👍💄🤗

The one thing I've found with drugstore vs higher-end products (and I could be wrong) is the ingredients. Yes, specific drugstore products may give you the "same effect" as a luxury/high-end brand, but maybe it's cheaper because it has less quality ingredients? or is that not the case?
Not really, because lots of drugstore and high end brands have their products made in the same manufacturers.

Dupes videos are just SO much fun! The biggest difference I saw was the mascaras- from this angle the Thrive gave way more lift and length….
When I was in SanDiego last summer I picked up the ELF sunscreen and kicking myself now for not grabbing 2 or 3🙈 as we can’t get it here in Canada. I had to bite the bullet last week and pay for Super Goop😢. Heading to Florida in March and will most definitely be stocking up on the ELF lol

Over Christmas, my DIL and I were able to steal some time to play with makeup. I packed things I wanted to give to her, and so many of them were from Elf. It seems like I add more and more Elf products and they become what I reach for over all my other products!! She was using the Supergoop sunscreen, and plans to buy the Elf dupe!!! Thank you for always giving Elf so much love!!❤❤
PS I just bought a VERY small eyelash curler, where it takes several uses to curl the entire lash. My lashes are very sparse and straight, and this is the only curler that actually works!!
Might just be how I prefer me makeup, but I prefer the elf. For me especially, I look more alive than normal even compared to other brands, not just the dupe ones. I have sleep issues so permanent eyebags essentially along with the duller skin that comes along with that makes me pick elf cause I actually look awake and alert even with just concealer blended out under my eyes
The Thrive mascara looks way better.
You layered so many complexion products on top of one another, like so many primers all at once, that I feel like none of the products are performing to the best of their abilities and the results are not to true in use. Fun seeing the comparisons of the other products though!

I think the Thrive mascara outdid the Elf. I love that mascara. Its so good. And with the Elf and Milk primer, the Milk primer is more but comes with over 3 ounces, and the Elf is under an ounce and is 10 dollars. So for the amount, they're actually about the same. But i get that they're definitely dupes. And I've always thought that the 40 bucks for a lip oil is silly.
I still really like the Nyx Angel Veil primer for pore filling and smoothing.
is it still hydrating or does it get stuck into dry patches? im looking for a primer that smoothes but still feels and looks hydrating 🤔💕

Her video confirms what I've always suspected...most high end makeup is a waste of money and really doesn't make you look any better. Other than the mascara and the bronzer, both sides look identical to me.

With the Elf whoa glow, I use the sunbeam shade, it is more of a tinted flesh tone shade, and in the summer, I use that as my base with concealer because it has coverage to it for my complexion if I get tan then I use the bronze shade sunburst for the same thing. I love sunbeam more because it has the perfect coloring for my skin tone to give it that skin colored glow with a bit of coverage.
Have you tried the shade 3.5 in the Halo Glow liquid filter? I don't have the charlotte to compare. But I do have 3.5 which is described as neutral olive, it's perfection.

I have been given a book to order and so many products look beautiful but not sure the performance..I do love the eyeliners they are affordable and perform well ..The double ended brushes are good too ..A review would be something different than the usual brands!! Whenever my setting isnt spraying right I take the little plastic that the product comes out and run it under hot water. I think the product sometimes dries and clogs the holes.

I love how much care you take to prep your skin before foundation, I always forget or am in a rush and go straight in with foundation. I can't help but notice that 4 different primers is a lot! (elf sunscreen/primer, poreless putty, hydrogrip, and elf halo glow). I am surprised that you don't encounter pilling or moving of the primers. I always get pilling between my skincare and my primer and when I use too many products I feel like I am moving everything around underneath.
just curious if you changed your camera or settings? i feel like a lot of the video was blurry and constantly refocusing. never noticed that on other videos.
It's probably my lens auto focusing since I was zoomed in more!

I feel like there are too many products being layered here. Would have preferred to see them on different days and inserted wear time. That would have been a truer "testing." Mixing too many products will change how they look and perform. Sorry, this might sound mean, but not meant to be🤦🏻♀️

Hi Jas, Ohhhhh this was a great video!!! Although some of the high end were GORGEOUS, I'm still staying with my E.L.F!!!! I do love the Rare Beauty Blushes though 😍. I seriously can not stand the All Nighter Spray!! 2 times the spritzer did the same thing as it did to you and both of those times it left white spots on my face 🤬🤬. Yes I sprayed it far away but as I said, the spritzer both times messed up on me so I don't know if that is why it happened. I hope you're staying warm cuz here in CT it's flipping freezing 🥶. COME ON SUMMER
Almost every one of my makeup products is by elf & I've always said that they're a super affordable makeup brand for everyone & some of their products are definitely better than high end which is such a bonus because you'll be saving so much money with it. For example, their halo glow. I think it dupes the charlotte Tilbury 100%. The coverage & overall finish is exactly the same. I mean, it blurs & smooths which is exactly what Charlotte says her product does.

The elf sunscreen comes in 2 shades now. There is a darker shade now, not super dark but darker then the original. Hard to find in stores but I'm sure it's on the Elf website just FYI. Love your videos
I saw the new tubing mascara and liquid blush at target yesterday, i was SO tempted to buy them but had to stop myself bc i don't need more makeup lol. But they're def on my list for next time.

I always wanted the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood flawless filter but it was always out of stock in my shade until elf came out the the dupes 😂 and I got the elf one instead and love it 🤍
I think the hourglass tubing is better than the thrive. Same wand. Run the mister under warm water. Trick from hairspray back in the day.
