💖 ABOUT ME:
Hi, my name is Jen I am 44 and live in Connecticut with my husband and 8 year old son. I am a stay-at-home Mom and full-time UA-camr with a degree in business with a focus in marketing. Before leaving work when my son was born, I was a commercial lender at a bank. I also worked at Sephora and Macy's doing visual merchandising.
I have dry skin with some hyperpigmentation and fine lines. I love natural makeup looks but occasionally go outside my comfort zone a little bit. On my channel you'll find lots of videos about drugstore makeup and drugstore dupes (those are my favorites to film!) but I also review high-end makeup as well. I hope you enjoy my channel and if you do, please don't forget to SUBSCRIBE & leave me a comment! - Навчання та стиль
I remember years ago being a Sephora VIB Rouge (spent over $1000 in one year) and having nothing but garbage that I didn't enjoy using. It was mostly skincare, but the makeup was ehhhh. I have a bunch of drugstore makeup now that I LOVE and I'm not spending that kind of money on high end ever again. Too much greatness at a lower cost.
Love drug store recommendations. Way friendlier on the budget.
The prices are definitely creeping up there lately! But I'm grateful to still be able to find some products under $10
I stopped using Maybelline Falsies, when they changed the brush to what it is now. I find Maybelline Mascaras (all) very drying to the eyelashes. I prefer L'Oreal mascaras, many of their mascaras hit the mark for me. Great video without a doubt best of you tube Jen thank you.
Ahhh the Noxzema scent, I smell that and it takes me back to the summer months when I was younger, I’d stay at the pool too long without sunscreen and wind up burnt. My mom would always pull out a big tub of it to slather on me haha
Yes!! Me too!
I hear you friend...seemed so fresh, hygienic and you just felt it would do wonders. Whipped white miracle..haha
It felt amazingly good on sunburnt skin
Yup me too😊
@@jkschnik6952 it definitely did
Hi Jen! I’m a new viewer and as someone who is overwhelmed by how many products are on the market I really love getting to hear more about the high quality drugstore products that already exist! So many UA-camrs are constantly testing the newest launches and as an accountant I can’t fathom purchasing expensive products from Sephora when there are so many good products at an affordable price!
It’s not like it was years & decades ago where two drugstore products weren’t as good or the drugstore didn’t have shades for very fair or very dark skin either. I just stick to drugstore or if I want something in high-end quality, like single eyeshadows, I go with indie brands, Sydney Grace for single eyeshadows & Blend Bunny for very small eyeshadow blending brushes. I wait for Black Friday or Christmas in July sales.
Yes please, part 2.....and 3 and 4. Love this.
This was such fun to watch. I'd love to see another one
You better sit down for this. I STILL wash my face with Noxzema. Yep. Yes, I do. I use it in the tub when I am having a bit of a spa night and not every day, but still. The smell IS my childhood and it brings all the positive feels and nostalgia right back. That cold girl looks great on you Jen! I think I will try it tomorrow myself.
Love this! I’d love to see a Part 2 - or 3 or 4. 😊
Most influencers, are paid to push products.😮. thank you for making a video for products viewers actually buy. 😊
Yes, Jen is just the best! Never flaunts all the expensive stuff she just bought!
Those Revlon lipsticks! They really are standing the test of time for me. I’ve been buying the color Toast of New York for years and years. It’s my perfect brownish-red. I also still like Caramel Glaze. Yes, it’s pearly but I am an 80s baby so….
I loved a pearl lip color when I was younger but now I feel like they draw attention to all of the lines I have in my lips. If they were smoother-looking I would still wear them!
Same. Revlon with MAC has the best shade range out there for lipsticks. They generally make great lip products
@@JenPhelps Me too. I'm more tolerant of a little shine in lipstick. But...those lines!
Toast of New York is a classic. I like Teak Rose, which is very close to MAC Twig, so for people who need just a little bit more pink-rose in their brown, that's a great choice.
I use Rose Velvet. Revlon really does make excellent lip color at an extremely reasonable price.
Definitely do a part 2. I have and use a lot of those products 👍🏻
The blush section really took me back! I remember watching my mom do her makeup in the 90s (I'm 34 so I was elementary school age) and she always used Covergirl blush in Cappuccino Frost. It's just one of those very distinct things that I remember when she would do her makeup or let me play with her makeup as well. I've searched for that shade forever just for nostalgic reasons lol
This is a cute story 😍
This was such fun and you look wonderful in the soft pink blush and lipstick! And I’m so glad I’m not the only one realizing that fancy or new doesn’t always equal best!
The wet n wild highlighter is 🤩
One of my drugstore faves that I never hear talked about is maybelline full and soft mascara waterproof. I’ve recently been converted to the L’Oréal telescoping mascara, but before that the Full and Soft was the only formula I liked - adds volume and length, not clumpy, and doesn’t irritate my eyes like a lot of other mascaras do.
I bought that and tried it once and it didn't do anything! Maybe I got a dry tube? How do you apply it? I wanted a simple waterproof mascara that wouldn't make my eyelashes look like spiders or fake. But it didn't seem to do anything - I'll have to try it again.
I’ve never heard anyone mention the Essence brow pencil superlast pomade pencil but it’s $3 and the best I’ve ever used. The color is even perfect in 20 brown. I also love the Milani pressed powder conceal and perfect.
I haven't heard of that either!
@@JenPhelps I tried the Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-In-1 Foundation and Concealer inAlabaster, and it was OK although a little difficult on my very dry skin. I did have moisturizer and sunscreen on under it, which may have been the difficulty. (Sometimes products just don't play well together.) The product is definitely medium to full coverage. It wasn't awful on me, so I used up the bottle, but I didn't buy another one.
You might want to try it and let us know what you think. If you've already reviewed it, I apologize. I just recently subscribed and haven't watched all of your videos.
I love that powder!
I had to laugh when you talked about the Maybelline Dream Radiant foundation- I dug it out of my collection earlier this week and have been raving all week about how superb my skin looks, and can't figure out why I ever stopped wearing it. Too funny! It's been one of my ver favorite foundations for years. Also, I just had to toss my pink Wet n Wild halo liquid highlighter- ive used these for at least 5 years, and absolutely love them. Will definitely repurchase!!
I like that Maybelline foundation as well. It has a pretty finish and wears well. I think it's a perfect balanced foundation for dry and normal skin. It has coverage but isn't too heavy, it's not glowy but has soft radiance.
Loved this video so much. Thank you for revisiting the old classics. So many times I wonder "Why isn't anybody still talking about this?" Jen, you are truly providing a valuable service to your viewers 😊
I use the Maybelline Perfector 4 in 1 Glow every single time I wear makeup. I took off the sponge and I mix it with my Australian Gold Botanical Tinted Face Sunscreen SPF 50 sunscreen and it's the perfect light coverage for me. I haven't actually reached for a foundation in months :)
Maybelline The Falsies mascara is my favorite drugstore mascara, and always use Maybelline Lash Discovery for my bottom lashes and "priming " my top lashes. Very watery eyes, so I use waterproof.
I love the Maybelline Fit Me concealer, I always have it in my collection and use it almost every day. I also have the Nars one, which I love too, but I think the Fit Me blends a bit better. I purposely do not buy the Covergirl powders because of that horrible Noxema smell, I used to use Noxema when I was younger to wash my face and it was a very unpleasant experience, so it just reminds me of that awful ordeal.
Haha I would never wash my face with it now. It tingled and I'm sure it wasn't good for the skin...at all! But I guess the scent takes me back to that time, so I like the smell. :)
I've been using CoverGirl's TruBlend Mineral pressed powder for touchups, and there is no fragrance.
It sounds like the Fit Me concealer is better than the Age Rewind concealer that so many influencers love! I tried it, and it looked like I hadn't put anything on. Yes, my dark circles are dark, but it seemed like it hardly had any pigment. Also, I hated the applicator!
According to the ingredients list, that CoverGirl blush has clove oil in it, which is probably the smell.
@@MyCleverHandle I use the TruBlend pressed powder, and it's also unscented. I'm not sure if this is the exact same product as what you use. It may be, but sold under a different name.
@@JenPhelps I think Noxzema has fragrance, camphor, and menthol in it, so no, it's not good for the skin. I didn't know this either when I was younger; I have sensitive skin, so I've had to learn about irritating ingredients. I don't enjoy eczema rashes, especially not on my face!
YES!!! More of these please. Love drugstore, so many good things there.
Wow Jen, that color pink lipstick fits you perfectly and actually lights up your face and gives you an even more youthful look! I've never been a pink lipstick gal, but finally started using the brighter - lighter pink blushes! Thanks for another wonderful video! ❤️
Part twooo. Such a great video idea. The L’Oréal double extend tubing mascara is my unofficial vote. 🎉
Agree! First tubing mascara I ever tried and May go back.
I love those L’Oréal infalliable shadows! They are all gorgeous and so far I haven’t found any duds.
Jen there is another palette out there called the master blush color and highlight kit and has four shades. I found mine at cvs. I think you’ll like this one too!! ❤
After you did the subtle contour, I was amazed at how much a difference it made to the shape of your face and overall look. I’m gonna start.
I don’t trust the influencers, I trust your opinion. Keep them coming. Thank you.
Wonderful video and YES to part 2!!!
I don’t think I will ever stop wearing the Revlon lipsticks. Mink and Rum Raisin are classics! Their glass shine lipsticks are newer favorites too.
Revlon also has awfully nice reds, berries and mauves.
@@20thcenturyrelic I have Pink in the Afternoon, it’s the perfect peachy pink. Supposedly the Audrey pink, lasted me so many years and performs very well.
Love this! The tried and true at the drugstore! Part 2 or more would be great
Yes! Would love to see another video like this one!❤
I totally agree. I love makeup, and got caught up in the hype of new makeup, luxury brand... but last year, luxury was and still isn't in my budget, so I started thinking about things I used to use that I loved. The Covergirl blushes for sure. So I'm using those currently. Those loreal shadows are constantly in my collection. I never invest in high end mascara. Maybelline colassal mascara is always my go to, or the Soft n Full. I've been using the OG loose powder from both Covergirl and Maybelline and Coty. I bought all 3 for less than than my luxury brand powder, and I'm re-loving them. And no matter my financial status the Covergirl Advanced Radiance foundation is my go to ride or die main bitch, but recently I did buy the Revlon age defying foundation, and I'm really loving it to. So, I alternate between the 2 lately. Excellent video!
I need to go back and try Full & Soft again!
@@JenPhelps remember the ads back in the day with Sarah Michelle Gellar???
Very fun and some great recommendations--would really enjoy a part 2!
More please loved this and all the suggestions looked so nice on you.
Ok. Your makeup turns out stunning 😍. The eyeshadow shades look beautiful on you. Thanks for your video.

This was so fun! You looked beautiful in the colors you applied! Yes, more please.
Definitely want a part 2! Loved the pink blushy look on you too!
I loved this and I would love to see more like it! I had no idea some of these products were so good! I'm going to have to get my hands on at least a couple of these!
Omg the blush looks so pretty on you! I’d love to see another video like this one! Love drugstore content

Thanks for sharing Jen 💓 love your look you created and yes would love to see more 😊
Loved it! Great review of classics
Such a great video! Thanks for doing it. All the makeup looks so pretty on you!
Maybelline consistently slaps. I'm 52 and my daughter 21 and we both love fit me matte.
Love this video! So many good suggestions for oldies but goodies! Also, I love your makeup in this video; so flattering!
love love love these types of videos!!! I appreciate so much seeing everyone's tried and true picks. And those l'oreal pot shadows were my go to back in the day lol!
I love your videos Jen! You always show us affordable make up with high end performane!! Thank you so much!
I love these kind of videos. I have been wearing make up for 60 years and my first memory of make up was drugstore however the overabundance of make up out there today both drugstore and high-end makes us forget some of the tried and true, oldie but goodies. Yes keep these types of videos coming
Oooh!!! The final look is sooo beautiful❣️❣️❣️I would definitely love to see a part two👍🏼❤️🥰
Such a fun video‼️
Loved this!! I agree… would love more videos like this!

That was great! I hope you do more. I'm sick of overhyped products- real recommendations are best. Thanks!!!
Loved this. And yes to part 2 and maybe 3. This is awesome. Forgot about some of these. Jen you look beautiful in that sweater and makeup look. Loved the contour on u. Hope you have an awesome day and weekend.
Jen, I absolutely love this video! It was one of my favorites that you've done. Please do more! I recently went on a trip and forgot my mascara, so I grabbed some Covergirl Clump Crusher from the drugstore. It will always be in my rotation again.
Great video - please do more! I love your creativity, Jen! ❤
Hey I love your content ☺️
Hi Tonya! Thank you so much! 🥰🥰🥰
Yay! This was such a good video on all the products. It was a nice change to see and hear someone actually speak clearly and apply the product. Keeping it all simple.
My favorite lipstick that I've never been tempted to replace with a high end version is the Revlon Super Lustrose creme lipstick in 130 Rose Velvet.
Your skin looks amazing! Thank you for trying so many products and relaying the info back to us ❤
I loved this! I'm getting that CoverGirl blush this weekend!!
I am DEFINITELY feelin’ your look today! Really beautiful. And at least 3 of these products are getting purchased by me. Great job today.
I love the revlon lipsticks and this video was very entertaining and has me wanting to get back to the old gems.
This makeup looks so beautiful on you! Love the contour :) I am definitely getting that highlighter and lipstick!
I love the finished look. Gorgeous! 💜
Omg! Your finished makeup look is STUNNING!!! You look so radiant and beautiful.
Always my favorite type of videos!Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication! Look forward to more...keep 'um coming🥰
This was so much fun. I loved reading other people's recommendations and your presentation of them was that oomph to put a few on my list. I love those Revlon lippies in creme or shine ed but the on the mauve shade hadn't made it into my radar. Thank you ever so much. I really appreciate you and your community. Hugz!✌️☺️
I've always been curious about the wnw halo glow highlighter and the Rare beauty one! That's a great find! I really liked their stick highlight and love the blush stick that you recommend as a CT dupe. Such nice affordable products!
I’m lovin’ this style of video! Yes please 🤗👏🏻 more!! ❤️
Love the video Jen! So many happy memories! And the Malibu Barbie hair is so cute on you!
I love these videos about “forgotten” drug store products!
Some of these I’ve used and others I haven’t but now I must try them, especially want to try that CG soft mink blush! 😊
Your finished makeup looked beautiful Jen!
It’s fun to rediscover affordable options. 💄 🛍 👍Thank you! 💕
Great video idea! I would love to see an updated one.
I LOVE this look on you- so fresh and pretty. It truly complements your new hair color as well!😍

Absolutely loved this video! Another one, yes please! I pretty much only buy drugstore makeup with the exception of an occasional higher end eyeshadow palette when there is a major markdown.
Wow, what a great and fun video! Love all the pink. I would love to see another video like this.
Love your unique and interactive approach to your UA-cam channel, makes your channel different and interesting to watch😊
Awesome info and makeup look!!💗
Yes! More please. Love all your content Jen. But this was awesome!
So pretty on you. I always love your drugstore videos. Good for my budget!!
Love everything about your channel….thank you for being so relatable. I love
all makeup…high end and drug store as long as the quality is there. Your honesty is refreshing, thank you.
Jen I find your content unique and refreshing! I am a new subscriber and am really enjoying your videos. Part 2 for sure! Loved your end result in this video, the Revlon lipstick looks beautiful on you.
My all time favorite fall/winter drugstore lipstick is the revlon super lustrous in rum raisin. I also love it in the glass shine version!
Oh yes, please do another. So pretty and so much fun. I love that you demo everything on your face. Actually, your blush turned out lovely. It is a pop of fresh color without being garish and the lipstick and lilac sweater brighten a winter's day. xo
I love this type of video! I look forward to your videos all week!
loved this video- please do another one. Besides you look great in the colors and products used today..thanks
Another banger from Jen. Would love a part two!
Okay, after watching an Emily Noel video and now yours, where you both talk about that Wet n Wild highlighter, I’m definitely going to have to grab it. Also, YES to that classic Covergirl scent-makes me think of watching my mom put makeup on in the 90s when I was a kid. ❤
DEFINITELY more of these!!! HATE the Noxema scent!!! Reminds me of my acne days when I treated my skin WAY TOO harsh!!
Yes, it was super harsh! I can't believe we used it back then. :/
@@JenPhelps I wish I could find some acne treatment stuff that doesn't have salicylic acid or anything like that N it 2 combat my sensitivity, acne & hyperpigmentation that is moisturizing on the skin. Any advice Jen??
Same! My daughter is in her 20s and has been focusing on skincare for years. I should have been moisturizing and now my skin is sorry I didn’t.
@@kristymitchell4014 do U have any recommendations 4 me??
I so enjoyed this video. Thanks Jen!
