This might just be me, but channels like yours just make me go "oh shit nice!" whenever they upload, rather than me eagerly awaiting every video released. Don't worry about taking mental health breaks or taking longer for good content. I love it all either way.

I liked HVGN. I felt like it was the only really original take on the 'UA-cam retro review' genre that was going on at the time

Scary to think I've kept watching your videos since the old name for your channel - how the time passes Derek! I do love your mindset: "what do we do for fun?" for upcoming video content, it will show that healthy side of content creation mixed with less stress to boot. Hey Derek and Grace, honestly I had just assumed that the cadence between videos might have changed to every two or three months. But I’m very glad to hear that you’ve been working on yourselves, finally dealing with stress after decompressing can be very overwhelming. Derek; I've been a huge fan ever since I saw your Splatterhouse videos. I watched you go from HVGN, to a RetrowareTV contributor (RIP) and to SSFF.
You aren't beholden to a deadline. We are just as passionate as you when it comes to the things you talk about. We know you aren't a freelancer who chose to work for the Newyorker or someone who did a kickstarter trying to get some project over the line. You're a human being who said "I like to make videos. Do you want to help me stay afloat so I can do that?"
That means staying healthy by mentally and physically. That means caring about yourself as much as we do. Burnout is real but unless some shitty office boss who will replace a worker with someone else; we understand and we are patient.
Keep being you and I will keep watching and waiting; like I have for the last decade.

Hey man take your time! I always forget about creators until something new pops up (like even LGR, it's not that they're not memorable it's that I have the temporal attentiveness of a fish) so a week or a month makes no difference to me. I actually have my own channel that it takes me about 3 weeks to get episodes out and I understand the pressure but at the end of the day it's about doing something you love to do and taking the time to polish it to a mirror shine. In the approximate words of Miyamoto, a delayed video is eventually good, a rushed video is forever bad.
