PSA: you can plug in a generic USB keyboard to your nintendo switch to type letters to your Animal Crossing villagers. It may be old news but I am amazed.
A keyboard will work with every piece of software on the Switch if it uses the on-screen keyboard prompt. I use a wireless keyboard, so I just leave the reciever plugged in to one of the USB ports on the dock. It's surprisingly convenient.
I have a feeling that the link gates for the mega man battle network games on the gba would be right up your alley. Honestly mmbn has weird, ambitious *and* unnecessary stuff so the series in general would make a good video

I've been using the pokemon keyboard as my main work keyboard for a year now, it's a camel battery- life wise and physically hasn't changed (no fading) I don't do code or intense hard typing but still ! I'm amazed at the build quality.
I love Typing of the Dead so much. Every once in a while I'll set up my Dreamcast just to play it. But! There is also a Typing of the Dead game on Steam for people who don't have a Dreamcast & keyboard!
Love the video as always but... you missed a LEGENDARY PS4 keyboard/keypad thing. The Hori Tactical Assault Commander Pro was a device that blew away me and my friends as 14 year olds that just got PS4s. It's basically the left half of a keyboard with a touchpad on the top and an analog stick on the side. It also came with a mouse and were made for FPS games. It was janky because although it was built like a keyboard and mouse, the keys and mouse were binded to the actual PS4 buttons and sticks. This meant that the mouse didn't work like a normal mouse that is smooth and can be easily flicked, it worked like an analog stick that took up your entire hand. Although janky I loved using it at the time, and it even had a switch on the side that turned it into just a regular keyboard and mouse for your PC!
I actually used the PS3 keypad all the time for LBP2 actually, was *SUPER* useful cus it was actually programmed to like, skip going into the menu to chat, you could just *type*
The Pokémon Typing keyboard has honestly been such a good investment for me, one point my PC keyboard died, but i managed to use the pokemon keyboard for that, ive used it on my phone and also on the PS4 so i can actually communicate in FFXIV

And while initial sales fell slightly below projected numbers due to the lackluster aesthetics, the AVS is still considered one of the greatest classic game consoles, and was ahead of its time for having wireless controllers. The keyboard and compatible games, however, didn't fair so well, much like the ROB toy that came with early NES SKU's.
Much like the ps2, regular old USB keyboards will work for consoles like the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, etc. but mostly for typing and navigating the dashboard. For game control, there are various mouse+keyboard converters for the 360 and PS3 consoles (I'm not sure about current and last generations, but there might be some for these systems too.)
fun fact, the north American sega saturn keyboard was made up of 2 parts, the keyboard itself and the ps/2 to saturn controller port adapter, the keyboard was just a sega branded ps/2 keyboard from the time, so you could actually use it natively with a computer
I imported one off ebay for my amazing PSO/gamecube collection back in the day. Probs, around 2016. Was like $100 and used an ethernet adapter to play with it on a hacked server. Was awesome. I also used the PS3 keypad on my PC along with my PS3 controller to play PSO2 with controller but still have keyboard functionality...
That ASCII controller would have been amazing for back when I still played PSO2 regularly, controllers generally felt nice for 3-button combat (just normal attacks, dodging, PAs) but it was hard to find a good enough controller setup that lets you do everything without having to use your keyboard, and the subpalettes especially were hard to access.
I have the GameCube keyboard (got really lucky on a deal) and I always use it for smash, both for the wow factor, and because it’s actually really comfortable due to how wide it is, you don’t hunch in on it like you would a normal sized controller
I still own my Typing Adventure keyboard and use it. Got it together with the game new here in Germany for 5€ because the store just couldn't get rid of it so I as a collector of course had to jump on that chance. It's weirdly good.

There was another keyboard for gamecube it was made by the makers on action replay to aid in inputting codes. And the xbox one and ps4 support usb keyboards.
I have the Logitech PS2 keyboard. It did not come with the controller. I bought it to chat in Final Fantasy XI. I got it because, contrary to the claim this video made, I found other USB keyboards didn't really work with the PS2. They'd connect, but there'd be bad lag or some keys just didn't work. The Logitech keyboard is flawless.
If a kid can totally operate a 3DS I really feel a keyboard should be doable for them already. Especially cuz you have to type with a stylus to use most DS functionality in the first place

My PC is hooked up to the TV and I use a roccat lapboard (basicallly the same thing as the razer turret), but I use a controller for most games so it's not as weird as it sounds. At first I wanted a setup that would allow me to switch between a desk for browsing/photo editing etc and my TV for games but this was so much cheaper and easier

Think of how almost everyone threw out their NES/SNES boxes, now think how everyone threw out the Game Boy games boxes. Then think of the morons that, for some reason, threw out Genesis hard clam shell cases, like who were these people? Even with CD/DVD cases, I can almost understand getting rid of them if you have all your discs in a binder, but there was nothing really like that for Genesis games. Who are these people that threw them away? ...and thats what I thought about a video on console Keyboards. Very relevant, I know.
Lol … I actually have the Xbox 360 and Xbox One Chatpad … It’s a lot easier to enter codes to redeem or to search in the store or type a name for your character … And I actually still Use the Xbox One Version on my Series X
If someone could figure out how to reproduce a Workboy, I wonder what kind of game could be made using that? What could be done within the Gameboy's limitations, etc. Also out of all games, Dirge of Cerberus is compatible with both a keyboard and a mouse. Edit: I have one of those PS3 controller keyboards. I don't know if any games use this feature but when you're on the XMB running your fingers left to right and up and down actually move you along the XMB. The keys act as a weird sort of track/touch pad.

You can use keyboard arrows like the D-Pad and Enter for A and Escape for B to navigate the Switch eShop

Also, there was a Sony Playstation branded keyboard for the PS2 as well as a branded mouse that came with the Linux kit for PS2.

I used the 360 chat pad for a lot of Windows Live Messenger chatting while playing games
Chatpads are also useful for logging in info for stuff like Netflix/Hulu or credit card information if you use your console for that.

The xbox chat pad makes searching in the Microsoft store for games and add on's and inside app searching alot easier like in netflix or hulu etc...
