My brother was sober for 20+ years, was going through a divorce, started using again and was found dead just last year. He was a vibrant guy in his 50's. RIP Buck!

My mom was a big fan of Elvis so I was exposed to his music and movies early on. Elvis passed on my mother's birthday in 1977. I was six and remember my mom was heartbroken. My family has also unfortunately been affected by suicide. My 20 year old nephew took his life in 2016. I share these memories because even though I don't really feel in awe of celebrities, I feel as if I have a connection through these memories. I just want to give my heartfelt sympathy to all her family for this untimely loss. I hope her children uphold the wonderful legacy that her family holds for all of us.
I’m 53 I lost my father tragically August of 1977 at 7 yrs old. The whole world was mourning Elvis and I have always wanted to give her a hug. Our daddies both died at the same time.

I remember when she was born. It made a lot of people happy because her dad made us feel so good with his music, and his legacy would live on. Condolences and comfort for her grieving family. She was a good daughter who worked to ensure her father would have that legacy. It feels like a really said time for music right now.

We should balance out the Presley family tragedies with their triumphs and privileges. Yes, they have suffered through some tragic events as we all do. However, most of us will never enjoy the privileges that they have. So at the end of the day, they are fortunate.
She described her son as the only child of hers that she completely loved above all others. I feel badly for her surviving children that I’m sure are also aware of her many statements about her son being the love of her life. Those poor girls. I’m so sorry that she suffered as she did from the loss of her son but she had 3 other girls that should have meant the same yet never spoke of them the same. God bless her children and mother. Having watched Lisa Marie interviews for hours and hours for many years now- I can say the woman in that Golden Globes interview looks nothing like her. I am shocked that is how she looked 3 days ago. Her eyes are open but she looks gone or lifeless. Her skin is wrinkled, she looks frail and as if she has aged decades. She somehow went from looking like the daughter next to her mom to them looking like the same age. I have chills everywhere. My heart is breaking for her and her family.

Strong for others, but in her own mind, in those first moments of the day and the last moments at night... always, always, thinking of what happened... but, finally at peace after her sons death. I know her pain and grief just as millions of moms around the world also know that devastating grief and pain: your child would rather take his life than be on Earth here with you. I know mental illness (and in cases, drug addiction) played a huge roll in his and others' decision to take their life. A parent just cannot get over a loss as devastating as this. I can’t believe this. I was literally quoting her on a Michael Jackson video last week. As the biggest MJ fan, she was the dream. We all lived vicariously through her. She always had nothing but beautiful things to say about Michael and the fan community absolutely adored her. She was also Elvis’ little girl. I can’t imagine what the family is going through also with the untimely death of her young son. She only lived 4 years later than Michael and died in the same way- cardiac arrest. My heart hurts 😢

Gosh, I am in that age group half-way b/w Elvis and Lisa Marie. I didn't follow her closely but I have always thought fondly of her if her name were mentioned simply because like Conley says, she was royalty mixed in tragedy. l did not know about her twins, daughter or son, for example until this news of her own death came out. Elvis was wonderful and he loved her and she suffered a great loss when he died. The rest of us, too, but it is not the same ~ and especially as a child to lose your dad. I am so sad that she died so close to the release of this film that she loved. I am so sorry for and to her mom and children~! The kids just lost their brother which is very, very hard to bear, no matter how he had died. And now, Mom. It is heartbreaking.

She was on tour & came thru portland, OR. I misplaced the ticket I bought for the concert. So I went and bought another one cause that's how bad I wanted to see her. Low and behold I found the ticket later and still have it. There was even I chance I could of snuck backstage and maybe try to see her up close and maybe meet her. It was at the Roseland theater in downtown Portland. @ Lisa Marie Presely 💗

She finally seemed to have control of her own life,..The Elvis movie seemed to really to lift her spirits, and the way fans and other artists were so happy for her. ....and when ever she appeared now, it was like royalty showing up.The rooms seemed to just part for her and her family. . Incredible. Remember almost no one will be gifted the remarkable life of luxury Lisa was given. We are all besieged with heartache in life. No one gets out unscathed. I take comfort in knowing Lisa Marie was afforded a life of luxury and willed an almost 100 million dollar fortune from her dad. So many of us if not all do not have those coping tools at our expense. She struggled so intensely, but alas we all do.
You said what I have been thinking. Most people keep on highlighting her heartaches when they really should balance it out with her privileges. We all suffer losses but most of us don't have her inherited privileges to help us cope with life.
