It's pretty pathetic, really. Her marriage to Elvis was so short-lived (6 years) when she was quite young, you'd think he would be no more than a small blip in her life, especially since she had to raise her daughter on her own. From what I've heard, even from her, Elvis was kind of a controlling jerk, so I think she probably speaks well about EVERYONE. It's just her manner of communicating. She hasn't had to work or accomplished anything in her entire life, and she's been pretty sheltered. It's easier to remain genteel when you've had no life challenges.

Yes his legacy lives on, but I rarely see where Pricilla acknowledges his legacy stemmed from him getting his inspiration from African American music! Yes she is finally saying this 40 to 50 years later and of course after all those checks have been deposited to the banks! Elvis was just another modern day master of a plantation at his time, he just didn't beat his slaves he just stole their music, style , mannerism, etc. Yes, he bought his black made a house, but that was after she had given all of her youth too him! I'm not saying the man raped , but I will say he pillage and plundered the black musicians who sand soul, jazz, blues and yes even country music! Pricilla pretends he had good black friends, but their are no stories of said black friends visiting Elvis at his house or eating and sleeping at his house. If she had that she would've have produced it now to debunk the stories about him! I'm not saying he was a racist, but he was definately a cultural appropriator. Show me a tape where Elvis performed music for black and white people together. But my grandparents saw him when he was in juke joints and always trying to assimilate with black people , then days later he was on the rode singing original songs they wrote and singing like that was his own music etc. Elvis today would be a moder day Tom Jones or Vanilla Ice!

Has been her to stalk Elvis to call her parent for let her go to Graceland, then nobody forced her to stay there she could back to her family!!! It's time to stop once and for all to pity her: "poor she was so young!" She (supported by her parents), did it because she had a goal, and follow it until she obtained what she wanted, so she is to blame as much as Elvis. That's all!!

The woman was number 2 on Forbes smartest business women list because of Elvis Presley Enterprises yet she never speaks about that and I think it's because she knows she will leave herself open to be hit with things like living off of his talent. That talent did Elvis zero favors in the last ten years of his life and was regarded as an overweight singer who was painfully unaware that he lost what made him Elvis Presley and only toured to fund his love for quaaludes, young girls and bacon banana and peanut butter sandwiches. Just once I would love to see her say "You are correct that I take 15 percent but your lucky I don't take 70 after the way he treated me and if you keep this up I'm calling Lisa and telling her to lock the doors in Graceland. For all its worth.. Priscilla was a child bride growing up in another era where marrying young was not abnormal. She spent part of her teen years living with Elvis and his family and became part of the Presley family before officially marrying him. A lot of her growing up was mentored by the Presleys. Also Elvis who was directing her life to a large degree. It's understanding that his lifestyle became hers living in his household. He was no saint as some prefer to see him. He was simply still sowing his oats and having his cake and eating it too. Priscilla was his love but he was on the merry go round of celebrity much of the time. Graceland was THEIR home. Yes, Priscilla's home too. It's perfect lyrics logical that she was attached to the memories and life they lived on the grounds of Graceland. She has Lisa, the child they both dearly loved while the happy times lasted. Priscilla was young, but controlled by Elvis. Totally understandable that she felt like a bird in a gilded cage. Graceland was and always will be HOME they all shared. Vernon, Granny, and all the Presley Clan called Graceland home. Elvis 'home. He shared his home and success with his close family.

Regardless of the legal "divorce " feelings don't easily divorce and they shared a sacred bond of many years in the making. Priscilla was Elvis protégé. A most unusual story for most to absorb. But true love lives on outside the gates of Graceland, and for whatever flaws Priscilla may hsve, like we all humans have, there was deep love and respect between the Presleys. She grew up. Simply, she wanted to be herself. Elvis was living his life. She was a bird in a cage.in the final analysis, it's nobody's business but their own. Choosing to make it public in bits and pieces has served Priscilla well financially. Lisa was not old enough to handle her inheritance. Vernon passed away. Priscilla was the logical person in the succession of what to do with Graceland and also the lucrative legacy of Elvis. Good for her that she was blessed with good people to help and guide her. The Colonel Tom Parker had his claws in Elvis long enough. Good for Priscilla that she still is sentimental lyrics attached to her home and smart enough to retain the cash cow it has evolved into. Priscilla is starting to show her age regardless of the mask of cosmetic surgery. Under all that make up beats the heart of a mother, grandmothet, and former child bride who like everyone will not live forevet. Elvis was a cherished and outstanding man and talent but he was not a god. With changing times this too shall pass away. Graceland will become a past memory and the legendary Elvis, in time, will as well. I the meantime, good job, Priscilla.

@@madinareaume3373 right! Many a young girl in past decades saw getting married as a ticket from out of their parents control. There were bibles and a more puritanical set of life values back then that guided society for most families. There was a mom and dad family structure where even in bad situations the parents held a place of respect and legal guardianship over their minor children. Of course there have always been rebellious children who thought they knew it all and when boy met girl, the hormones kicking, defied their parents wisdom and got into troublesome marriages too young and immature to last. And on the flip side some young marriages lasted a lifetime.
What many people today fail to understand is using today's set of values (or lack of) to judge yesterday's. The thread of decent behavior and respectable behavior in place back in the 50s didn't allow for long hair on men, much bless all that wiggling and shaking in public by some young musician riling up all those young girls. Guys wore their hair neatly barbered and crew cuts ruled way into the 60s. It was a part of the culture to be neatly groomed. Elvis was his own fashion statement.. that in itself is wild.
Young teens often "went steady " and sweethearts slowly planned for future marriages. Often guys went into the military while the sweetheart girls waited for a future marriage date. Not unlike Priscilla who was legally a minor for whom her parents were responsible until legal age. Which age also varied depending which state it was.
Coincidently, yesterday a story came out that the FB I has just partially made. available to the public some of their records on Elvis previously sealed (NOW WE ASK, WHY were his records ever kept and sealed all these years?
If it's to be believed, the article states that a hairdresser of Elvis had threatened to expose his love affair with underage Priscilla when all this was occuring. And zip, soon after there's a rushed marriage. People can draw their own conclusions . WITH Parent's consent, Priscilla, underage of majority, could have married Elvis had he wanted to BEFORE they finally wed. AGAIN, draw your own conclusions.
Different world back then, and in many ways a lot better.

@@Angelaius different world back then. People dressed up. She had to compete with Hollywood starlets who Elvis worked with and he had a public image to uphold. That he wanted his young wife to look glamorous was not exactly grooming although enhancing her natural good looks. Priscilla had heavy duty competition to try to keep Elvis from women constantly throwing themselves at him. Priscilla grew up being groomed to the extent that Elvis tried to mold her into a woman as she grew from the young teenager in his life for quite a number of years. This is not unusual at all and not a bad thing . It appeared more like passing on what he was seeing being involved in making nonstop movies with nonstop pretty women. At any rate, their life was what it was under their circumstances and Priscilla Beaulieu became a princess and his special love. Can't fault a girl who couldn't help falling in love. God bless her.

    Elvis Presley
    I remember August 16, 1977.
Forever engraved in my mind, in my soul.
I received one of the worst, physically shaking, ass beatings of my pre-teen life.
I was walking through the boys room at the back of the house, passing by the television set.
    It was at eye level.
As I glance at it on my right, in passing, a royal blue screen with white letters flashes on, just cuts in.
    It read ELVIS PRESLEY DIES.
I had to read it twice and then a panicked reality set in.
I knew my dad and brother were just outside working on the family station wagon, a powder blue, Ford Country Squire.
I ran out the back door, yelling loudly that “Elvis Presley died!”.
I stood just beyond the back porch, screaming until I heard tools clanging and then feet scrambling towards me.
I hurriedly moved back indoors and waited by the television set.
I heard feet stomping in full gallop, headed toward the rear entrance of the house.
The door swung open and both my dad and oldest brother rushed in and stood next to me, huffing and puffing, breathing very heavily as we all gazed at the television.
We waited what seemed an eternity and no breaking news report came on.
    No mention of Elvis’ passing.
It was then that I was taken by surprise.
My dad somehow whirled me around and had grabbed my left upper arm with his left hand and was behind me as he delivered a full handed, bone shattering, neck cracking spanking.
He was a 6 foot, physically fit man.
    I was 12 years old.
Through the whole soul shattering ordeal, I heard him furiously yell at me never to lie again.
I remember crying and yelping like an injured puppy as it was happening.
I didn’t understand what had just occurred.
When I felt free of his grasp, I ran in desperation and wound up in the bathroom.
    I locked the door.
Crying and screaming, I slumped to the ground and hugged my knees not knowing what to do.
Eventually, I heard my mom begging me to come out.
All I could say between injured feelings and streaming tears was a loud, angry NO!
    NO!!!
I don’t know how much time passed before I heard my dad’s sheepish, low, guilty voice saying he was sorry as he also lightly knocked on the door.
    Please unlock the door.
The answer remained an emphatic, definite, NO!
I was not unlocking the door.
Still on the floor, I hugged my knees tighter and eventually fell asleep.
I woke up in my bed later that evening, no idea how they retrieved me.
I must have passed out in disbelief and dismay.
I don’t recall having dinner or anything.
Time passed and all eventually was forgiven.
My dad was a good, hardworking man.
To this day I remember the very moment that the King of Rock n Roll died because my dad was one of his biggest, admiring fans.
If an Elvis movie or show rerun was on the tube, we all certainly were watching.
Elvis was a big presence in our household, as was everything Disney.
In his youth, my father had aspirations of being an entertainer.
He sang and played guitar in a quartet in his latter teens and early twenties.
He played both the guitar and piano by ear.
He usually played the guitar in the evenings and weekends and could be heard singing something.
I only learned and realized the extent of my dad’s admiration and fanaticism for Elvis Presley after revisiting my literal, butt hurt, childhood incident as an adult.
I understood why we watched every Elvis movie and show when they aired on tv.
It was a family night around the big, console TV set in the living room, popcorn and the whole shebanger, just like the annual airing of The Wizard of Oz, a special occasion.
    I miss family life.
I miss my dad and my mom, everyday!
And to this day, Elvis still is The King of Rock n Roll, never to be forgotten by my heart and soul, and my butt!

Elvis was great before he met Priscilla. I can understand why she eventually wanted out of the marriage, Elvis was cheating and he kept Priscilla locked up in Graceland. Elvis was very controlling.
Without Priscilla, Graceland would've been sold to the highest bidder. Priscilla has worked tirelessly to preserve Elvis' legacy which has brought him fans of all ages from all over the world.
Even though the marriage didn't work, Elvis and Priscilla genuinely liked each other and shared a child together. Priscilla has every right to maintain Elvis' legacy for his fans and Lisa Marie. Priscilla has done an outstanding job and if it entails making money, that's great. It's better the money goes to Elvis' family.
